I unfortunately need to reduce my rating a 5 to 1 star (zero if it were possible). Farm Boy has in place a corporate wide policy which may result in catching COVID. Over the past few visits to a newly opened Farm Boy we had noticed some customers entering without a facemask or protective face gear. When I inquired, I was told that they were not wearing one for medical reasons but that the entrance screening staff could not verify the condition due to privacy concerns. t The World Health Organization, Health Canada, Provincial Health Department and municipalities are all collectively requesting individuals to wear protective facemasks for not just themselves but others they are around in public places. This virus is airborne and can be carried through droplets in exhalation, sneezing, breathing etc,,, Also, last I read, nowhere near the majority of persons in Canada have been fully vaccinated. Why is Farm Boy endangering all their client base to acknowledge the justified or otherwise privileged minority and entrenching it in corporate policy. They are also putting their own staff at higher risk. A LOT of parents kids work there! The store manager advised me that there are about 5 of persons refusing to wear a protective mask per DAY at that location. Farm Boy does offer curbside and can therefore refuse the client who does not wish to wear a mask entry into the store. I encourage them strongly to enforce this route rather than putting the health of others, children and their employees at risk. It's just a shameful position of Corporate leadership in the face of those who have suffered the loss of a loved one due to this very a real pandemic. Please spread this message and choose an alternative competitor who will takes this pandemic more seriously! Shame on you Farm Boy!

I ordered 3lbs of sirloin fondue meat at 9:19am on Thursday April 25th from Farmboy on Woodroofe and asked for it to be ready by 11am on Saturday April 27th. The male person I spoke with seemed to be writing the order down as we spoke on the phone, and even confirmed the order details. When I showed up to pickup my order the clerk said sorry we don’t have any unless there is some on the shelves. I explained that I had preordered the meat and he said there was nothing he could do. When I asked to speak to the manager (tall guy with facial hair), I got the most unprofessional, rude unhelpful response I have ever received from a “manager”. He told me the order was never called in... so why am I standing there and why is their store’s phone number on my outgoing calls. My advice to this guy and the owners of the store is send him packing as he is not helping the image of your business at all. Clearly his leadership skills are part of the reason his staff can’t take an order and follow through. My advice to anyone who is counting on dinner for their guests - go see Pete and Gus meat market - they bailed me out after this disaster!

Great store Edit: That was 4 years ago. Now, is the worst of the food stores in Ottawa. Food quality zero. Meat, nothing worth of buying, the veal is only pieces put together to cheat you visually. The pork can't be eaten (and it was the best in town few years ago). Chicken doubled the price. The fruits... bad quality, almost dried, besides some apples and banana nothing that can be eaten. The bread quality went down, now is rhe chewy type, good for nothing. And in top of all 15 cents paper bags. I was thinking we are fighting the so called global worming. As a heads up, the paper bags are made from trees, Trees are living by consuming the dreaded CO2 and realeasing oxigen. Kill the trees/plants and you help with global warming. All of the above made me decide to move my business to other food store.

Alot of food buy at Any Farmboy goes bad super fast, been to almost every location, and meats are not tender. Also you add to my review of this location they fire people with not just cause, no real reasons why. They fired my son because he has a mental illness, Schizophrenia. Please don't support a place that doesn't respect all types of individuals as well as their food quality is horrible. They're looking for more staff yet they will fire anyone who is not a "normal" "common" everyday regular person. They do not accept those of different sizes, choices, mental illness, chronic illness or genders.

I’m so thankful this grocery store is close to my work. It’s allowed me to eat healthy on days where I didn’t have time to prepare a lunch. Their salad bar and prepared food section are incredibly convenient and delicious, and you can get cold or hot buffet options. They have a fast lane at lunch time for those buying from the buffet. They have delicious homemade hummus, guacamole, salsa, taboulet, sushi which are great when hosting at home. I love all the farm boys and wouldn’t shop anywhere else. The staff are always kind and helpful when searching for specific ingredients.

I am a big fan of Farm Boy. I don't have an issue with the prices on some items because the quality surpasses other grocery stores. Unfortunately, I had a negative experience with a clerk not long ago. Apparently, a customer in front of me left a piece of garbage on the belt. The cashier for some odd reason took it and placed it in my bag when she was bagging. When I removed it and told her it wasn't mine, she had absolutely no response. That was bizarre. I'm keeping the five star rating because I thankfully haven't encountered her since, and the staff is otherwise fantastic.

I have been shopping at This Farm Boy for the last 5 years. I have always had a positive experience. The cashiers are so upbeat and happy. They always have a smile on their faces. They don't make you feel like you are interrupting their day. They greet you with a smile. All the floor staff are really helpful and happy as well. It would be nice if the Farm Boy staff could train staff at other food stores on how to give outstanding customer service. Please pass this message on to your staff. A very satisfied customer with service, goods and staff.

Farm Boy has an outstanding selection of fresh produce at very competitive prices. The deli selections are delicious and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is welcoming and pleasant adding to the market fresh charm and easy going shopping experience. Farm Boy also has a nice selection of fresh sushi! The staff is courteous and knowledgeable. The meat selection is very good, from their lean ground beef to their fresh turkeys. Call ahead and they will prepare your order and package the meat (ie ground beef in 1lb. packages) in freezer paper.

  • Hashem Ahmed

Went in to try the salad bar. First impression, the store needs more attention to floor cleaning. The salad selection was awesome though. I came a bit after 6pm so not the freshest but I liked it, healthy and filling. Bit pricey though compared to others. Also the cashier had a queue and the person attending to it was casually chatting with a customer rather than trying to get through the queue quickly. I understand it is a Sunday afternoon but your last customer is important and valuable as your first customer.

I enjoy a lot of what Farm Boy has to offer. The synthetic dye/color in their cheddar perogies remains not listed in the ingredients after 3 years of this being discovered. As a mother of a child that has an extreme sensitivity to certain chemicals in food this makes me very disappointed. They can do better. It is now 4 years later and no change. No responsibility. New owners but now the croissants are no longer all natural and the "good pop" (without synthetic dyes & flavors) are no longer sold here.

  • Carrie Kristal-Schroder

Very vegan-friendly. Items range from onion or mushroom Farm Boy Perogies (delish!) to plant-based yogurts and baked desserts, as well as a good selection of more widely-available items such as veggie burgers, tofu, plant milks, etc. Of course, always a wide selection of high-quality fresh fruits, and vegetables. They also offer vegan choices among their prepared-daily salads and warm foods (my husband's a big fan of these, but I find they can be a bit hit or miss).

  • Aaron R

Farm boy is definitely a premiere grocer in the Ottawa and has expanded through the years to reach other markets in Ontario. They pride themselves on freshness and top quality products. This location shares the lot with a bank and usually has ample parking available except during peak periods where it’s pretty much impossible to find a farm boy with adequate parking. Their products are definitely top notch quality, and it shows when you go through check out. $$$.

  • Mrvn Rvra

I went to this location to buy a fruit basket and a bouquets of flowers for a sick friend. I was told that I need to order it online and it will be for the following day. I asked if they can make it the same day because I am bringing it to the hospital. Cara the supervisor is so nice and she understand the need. She made it happen in less than 20mins and she did a wonderful job the fruit basket is soo beautiful. Great Job Cara! Keep up the good work!

  • Vikram Bhola

Fresh produce, fantastic deli/cheese selection. They've helped me set up a charcuterie night, with a nice selection of meats and cheeses. Their staff has always been kind and courteous. They also offer the option of paper bags, which we use for green bin bags. Unlike Loblaws, I've never had to return meat, due to spoilage. (3x in 3 weeks with 3 different types of meat...) They're further out of the way for me, but definitely worth it.

  • Katie Van Dusen

Close to barrhaven and community access is easy. Lots of ppl shopping and curious of others willing to flag you to give you their parking spot. Also staff are super helpful giving you support and lots of workers cleaning and putting items properly accessable. Lots of different ppl both stroller pushers and other devices that all had access to this location. Food is unique and mixed local n non local!

  • Neil T

Always a favourite spot for us. Smaller than the other one in Barrhaven but the service is 5-star! Rarely a line when we go, the staff we have dealt with are all amazing, and the store is always well kept. The only reason for the missing star is the selection. There are a few things they don’t stock at this location that are available at the other one and/or they run out of some things too easily.

  • David Maillet

Great place to buy your produce, but the meat is way too high in price, especially for the quality you are receiving. Their meats are simply average, even below average and your paying a lot. Example.....top sirloin steaks......cooked medium rare and the meat is chewy and taste is not the greatest as well. Overtime, I have try them on seperate occasions and same outcome everytime.

  • Harveen Sandhu

This place is super special. It's like a mini- Whole Foods, local to Ottawa. The products are culled down to only the best quality and it is super pleasurable to shop in. Great organic variety. Wonderful staff too and the Farm Boy brand is excellent: from sauces and dressings to ice cream and egg nog. Farm Boy's egg nog is truly one of the best egg nogs around!!!

  • Off Set

There's tons of mold on a shelf in the corner of the dairy section. Impossible not to notice! I keep notifying the staff and so far it's still there. Update: 2 weeks later, the mold has been smugged against the wall in an attempt to be cleaned off, but it's still there. And lots of it! And new mold is growing on top of it. Pictures have been taken and uploaded.

  • Alison Janes

Farm Boy provides a wonderful variety of fresh products, from meats, to cheeses, to vegetables and seafood. A great assortment of organic and gluten free options. They carry a range of delicious items made in store for take away, from salads to hot dishes and baked goods. Make sure to check out the deli, very nice variety of deli meats and artisanal cheeses.

  • Sheldon Macgillivray

I like going in for the home made gourmet burgers at the butcher counter. They are fantastic! Jalapeno, Sirachi, blue cheese, smoked bacon are just a few flavours. On the way out hit the salad bar for some really nice and fresh options. Dinner is served! It takes the run around out of your week with ready made options. Every location has the same stuff.

  • MT

Very clean and nice store, high quality meat and produce, the store definitely focuses more on fresh foods than processed like most large chain grocery stores. I love coming to FarmBoy. However, baked goods are often stale and should be discounted and not be left at full price. Also the parking lot is very tight, and not designed well.

  • Lama Najjar

Although Farm Boy fruits and vegetables are a little more pricey than other grocery stores, the quality of their products is incomparable. I love how fresh and delicious everything here is. Their salad bar is absolutely delicious. I also like to get the Farm Boy branded organic passata. Excellent place to buy good quality groceries.

  • Cheryl Fosbery

I'm really disappointed in the specials at Farm Boy. I find as you expand or on special holidays your specials are so below level. I understand that we are going through hard times but twice in Barrhaven this week I had no wait line going into your stores. Are you expanding too early during pandemic times.? A faithful customer.

  • Joyce R

It's on the top 2 of my preferred grocery stores in the Barrhaven area. Freshness, variety, organic options, and friendly service are the reasons why I keep coming back to this store. I love their take-out food service, especially their Kale/cranberry salad and soup selection. Seafood section is always fresh and fairly priced.

  • Scarlett

Was wandering around shopping here the other night after working a double shift. Somebody actually asked me if I needed help with anything, then told me to let him know if I had any questions. Good customer service!! I also like the small size of the store, because it's not overwhelming, and I can get in and out pretty fast.

  • I in Eye Cinematics

I have gotten produce from here recently a few times, probably 3 in total and each time it is ROTTEN. I am very disappointed. My Mom used to work for farmboy and talked about how fresh their produce was. The last thing I bought was 3 organic mangos, each ROTTEN BLACK inside the day after I bought them. So upsetting.

  • Jason

A little bit small but has most of the things I would need. Just a few things that I would have expected to have here. I do understand that due to limited space can't have some of the specialty that are out of season or just not commonly used. Over all I always think of fresh and healthy when I walk in!

  • Jose

This supermarket rules! The employees are responsible and friendly; the store is tidy and organized. It is very easy to find what you need in this store. Many samples await your visit. The only displeasurable thing about this store are the prices which are higher than your average grocery store.

  • Clement Law

Great to have a grocery of this calibre in Barrhaven. Great produce, surprisingly competitive prices for meat, and lots of local products. My only wish list item would be a little sit-down area for eating when we get something from the salad bar, like they have at their Westboro location.

  • Bill Aubrey

Excellent store, everything is great except the store has gone way past it's capacity to serve customers. Our last visit saw a massive line up at the deli counter and it was next to impossible to get through the store. Too bad this location could not have been built on a larger space.

  • Leslie King

Good selection of products and fresh produce. Farm boy is always coming up with great things to sell. Good to see them giving competition a run for the money and not jacking up prices while doing so. Definitely the best grocery store in the area - clean, well-run and always in-stock.

  • Scott Gorry

Great place, their produce is always amazing. The prices are higher than some of the big chains but you get what you pay for. The Smokehouse BBQ sauce is next level and the deli staff are great. The hot food counter is always stocked and the salad bar rewards program is solid.

  • Darryl Miller

One of the best grocery store chains in Ontario and started in Ottawa. They have the best fresh produce, plenty of organic products and awesome fresh meals for lunch and dinner. The prices can be steep but if your looking for quality this is an excellent choice. Enjoy.

  • AJ Lauzon

It's not a one stop shop but everything you can get there usually worth getting. Not the least expensive store around but you can't beat the quality. Always a nice experience going in there and I can't help but come out with a few extra goodies I didn't intend to get.

  • cathy daly

I was just at farm boy, took my 2 dogs with me and asked a lovely lady outside to watch them while i popped in for 1 item. The cheese manager noticed the dogs and brought them both some clean, cool water. I think that was so thoughtful - thank you.

  • Anika Smith

This is a great location in terms of being clean, well stocked and not too busy. Unfortunately I have had bad experiences with cashiers over and over again. Many of them seem to be more interested in looking out the window than serving customers.

  • DG Z

Good prices for fruit and vegetables. Deli is also well priced. Meats and bakery are expensive. Everything in the store is high quality. This store has a small parking lot and it's a popular store so you get many traffic jams in the parking lot.

  • Ross Brown

Best produce of all the grocery stores in my neighbourhood... and there are a lot of stores. I love their artisan sausages and homemade soups, plus the decadent store-baked desserts. Some items are a bit expensive but they're worth the price.

  • Emma C

Excellent quality of items and prices reflect that. I dont shop here for all my items, but its definitely worth a visit if you're cooking with vegetables or animal products. There are some very good deals too, I found a fillet of salmon for

  • Burhan Bayatli

I have been shopping grocery in Canada for about 30 years. (Last 2 years in Ottawa) vegetables (cooked and raw) and breads have a big share in our cuisine. I don't exaggerate if I say, the most fresh vegetable and delicious bread - (baked

  • Wayne H

The quality of pretty much everything has gone downhill here in the last couple years, I assume as a result of Sobey's buying them out and cutting corners. But this location seems to be affected more than the Strandherd location, so maybe

  • Amy Lanctot

Farm Boy has the absolute best produce. The prices are great too, especially for the quality. You can also find some interesting things here that you can’t find anywhere else. And the cut pineapple is the same price as the uncut ones. :D

  • Dr. Rohit Verma

The BEST place to buy fresh organic fruits and veggies at a very reasonable price. If you haven't checked, visit once, and I can guarantee you would only buy your fruits and veggies from here ONLY. Thanks Farmboy. Always ye best.

  • David Nikkel

This is our neighbourhood Farm Boy and we love it - my favourite place to buy food in Barrhaven. So, why 3 stars? The site layout and parking situation is abysmal. I can't figure how they thought it was a sufficient parking lot.

  • Minhaz S.

Fresh produce all the time. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. They also have healthy food on the go. Best of all they support local farmers. There is something nostalgic about grocery shopping here. A true Canadian store!

  • Konrad

Good selection of mostly non-processed food and some processed products. Today I tried Rustic buns and they were quite good. I like them better than the Portuguese ones that they sell as they taste more flavorful to me.

  • Borys Kotanski

Boutique grocery store with little to no competition in the suburbs. Limited product selection. Some grocery items you would expect to get at Farm Boy are unavailable due to lack of space. Basically a convenience store.

  • Amelie March

Love FarmBoy! So many great products, fresh, awesome buffet. This particular location is nice, parking is easy and you can actually bring your basket to the car (you can't at Merivale location, which drives me crazy).

  • April Thomas

Great store but Im giving the whole company 2 stars because they ruined the breakfast bar with the new platters instead of the ala carte style as it used to be. It was a go to for me and now its useless. BAD MOVE!

  • daniel fallon

If you want to eat healthy or grab a quick salad head to farm boy. Bonus is they now have craft beer. Small choice of beer but great beer all the same. SIde note, I found salted peanuts in bulk to go with beer.

  • Chau Nguyen

One of the best grocery stores in town with almost everything for families. Staff are very nice and willing to help out. Fruits vegetables are always very fresh. 5 stars for cleanliness, quality, and services!

  • Andrew Garrett

The produce looks great! Nice wide selection of great looking food. Nice place to shop. Sells beer. We bought the specialty burgers and they weren't anything special though. Won't bother getting them again.

  • Jane Brennan

Went to pick up a heck of a lot of kabobs to bbq this weekend. So many types available, thait was hard to choose. The young man behind the counter was so polite and helpful. Made the entire experience nice!

  • Sean Cusson

the best place to go for the freshest produce. The meals to go section is pretty awesome. The only downside is that there's usually so much selection that I end up making myself a salad that cost me $20.

  • Shahram S

Fresh produce, fruits, and etc. But carrying your items to your car is a pain when you cannot take the cart to your car. The store is pretty small for a grocery store and physical distancing is not easy.

  • Chris Wegierski

Good grocery store, good produce, unfortunately, higher prices and less selection than most grocery stores. They do sell lunch / dinner type food ready to take out. Eastern Ontario's nicer grocery chain.

  • Sue McMillan

For my American's it's our TraderJoe's with a Canadian flair. Fresh produce, ready to eat hot meal bar that is amazing and always tasty. Great bakery and deli counter and so many cheeses to choose from.

  • Kristopher Alladin

Although there is another Farm Boy closer to my house I much prefer this location. Great staff and super friendly... EVERYBODY. Just remember (customers) a "please" and a "thank you" goes a long way.

  • Rhama Chalikonda

The bestselling fresh vegetable for good price. I am going to this shop for last 15 years and I love shopping here. Customers service is verygood and everyone should go to buy fresh foods from here.

  • Kevin Papineau

Fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh meats. A growing selection of prepared in-house meals. Very little highly processed, prepared foods. It may be a bit more expensive, but often the cost is worth it.

  • Travis Winter

Everything is great quality. The meat is on the pricey side but due to the quality. Try out their handmade burgers - absolutely delicious. We rarely use the salad bar but our friends love it.

  • Chris Andersen

I like Farm Boy but this is a small locations. Many of the newer locations are larger and have more to offer, especially for take home meals. Parking on the weekend can also be quite limited.

  • Drew Stewart

Fresh local products when in season. High quality farm boy brand products. Some standard grocery store items are more pricy but you should really be going for the fruits, veg meats and fish.

  • TEMPORARY RESIDENT

Good produce and fresh ingredients overall. However we sometimes did find expired items still on the shelf which can be problematic for regulations. Perhaps they can improve their bakery….

  • Kassem Maksoud

Best fruits and vegetables market in Ottawa. They take a good care of their product from appearance and quality. Prices are decent compared to other stores. I love visiting once a week.

  • Stan Wolfe

Good local store. Some items are quite pricey but the quality makes it worth it. Unfortunately, I was double charged for a piece of Gouda, so best to check your receipt before leaving.

  • Mireille Moquin

Love this store. Great staff, always friendly. The parking lot is a nightmare. So tiny and congested. I recommend if you're not walking to come during down times. Otherwise worth it.

  • Kutty Duhamel

Charged 25% more than quoted price for a catered meal. PLUS when we went to pick it up they had no idea about the order and luckily they were able to put it together while we waited.

  • Adam M

Stunning selection of fresh produce, meat, cheese and bakery goods. Very busy on weekends. Very helpful and friendly staff that are always willing to help out. Lots of free parking.

  • Stu Stu

Great meat department. Service A1. No lines at cashier. Always a pleasant shopping experience for groceries and fresh produce and meats. So glad it a five minute walk from my home

  • Ben Clouthier

Great place to get cold meat and breads. Typically very high quality stuff, although some is overpriced. However, not all of it is, so Farm Boy is a good higher-end grocery store.

  • Brian Gorman

Usually enjoy The soups but I’ll never get the pea soup again. Basically it was greenish coloured dishwater seasoned with pepper. Two spoonfuls and the rest went down the toilet.

  • J P

Clean store but can feel a little cramped or like there is a limited selection in certain aspects. Prices are more expensive than average but that is well known about Farm Boy.

  • Jack Sherk

A little on the expensive side, but the quality of their products is great. Also love the marketplace atmosphere, seems like the renovations really paid off! Great service too.

  • Allison Hanson

Small but decent store A lot less busy now the on off Greenbank has opened. But this has all the basics. Not as much in the ready made, but you will get in and out faster here.

  • Rima E.

I love going here for the hot/cold bar for my lunch. Always nice and clean and they offer a great selection of food. Their produce section is always well stocked and well kept.

  • Peter P

Fantastic food. If you are going to the ready made hot bar I recommend their pulled pork, Mac and cheese, and of course apple crumble. Dodge their butter chicken - it's meh.

  • Robin Stout

Excellent price on produce. Still have to make a second stop for the rest of my normal grocery list as everything else in the store is expensive and lacking in selection.

  • Robinson Green

Easy to get to with helpful friendly staff. Great selection of fresh foods and great store made meals, condiments, etc. Our family loves a lot of the Farm Boy products.

  • Amanda Bennett

Always a great selection of produce, meats, and bakery items. Well-staffed. Rarely much of a line-up at the checkout. This is my go-to store for quality grocery items.

  • Angella Heron

Produce beautiful and fresh...lots of local produce which was great...a bit pricey but worth it if you enjoy fresh local produce and friendly knowledgeable staff.

  • Mae Aying

They have the freshest produce in town. They also have random deals that will make you pick something outside of your "list" or probably that was just me! ;)

  • Lisa Brown

First time at Farm Boy. Great quality produce, meat bakery and grocery items etc. If you are looking for some unique options, Farm Boy is the place to shop!

  • JD K

Great produce. Their other products are marketed as fresh or homemade but they're actually still full of junk. I do like that they carry local makers.

  • Thea Klinger

This place is the best! Great produce, local products, and lots of vegetarian ans vegan options, as well as some exotic meats (elk, wild boar, etc)

  • Zeena Kaddoura

Clean, fresh produce, friendly workers and has a good selection of flowers. I got peonies last time which looked beautiful and lasted a long time.

  • Gopal rao

Best store with lot of organic selection. Produce are always fresh unlike WalMart or freshco. Bit expensive compared to other stores but worth it.

  • Shelby Hayter

Love your store but what happened to the jujubes?? You used to have the freshest jujubes and now they are just half as good.....disappointing....

  • Matthew Parsons

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great quality with produce. It's a limited selection in many areas, but it's a small location so understandable.

  • Bryan B

This is my favorite farm boy! Fish and meat is always fresh. We always have good luck with our fruits and veggies here as well. Great Salsa too!

  • Mahira Shafique

Great workers, Great environment and an even greater bunch of cashiers! Thank you for building up such a warm environment for the shoppers! :)

  • Chantal Loyer

Much nicer produce than most places, at better prices! Pretty good selection of organic as well. I prefer shopping here to the grocery store.

  • Glen Poulson

Nice little grocery market style in Barrhaven. Freshest produce, great quality meats. Good little bakery and terrific cheese and deli market.

  • Rochelle Lachance

Friendly service and great quality product. I can always find fresh produce, and ready made food if needed. The store is clean and vibrant.

  • Ricky Yu

Boutique style grocery store featuring local produce. They also sell prepared food by weight. Very convenient for a quick and healthy meal.

  • Lillie P.

The store was okay. It seems like a Canadian version of Trader Joe's. I liked how they posted cooking directions for various vegetables.

  • Kristy Langford

Always great selection and never a long wait in line. Nice to see retail that has enough cashes open to process volume of customers.

  • Namrata Singh

Great grocery store with an amazing selection of fresh produce, ready meals, frozen foods and a wonderful little bakery section.

  • Allan Blenman

Nice supermarket. Love all the fresh produce and quality items. Smaller footprint but feels exclusive at a great price point.
