I have been to this restaurant twice, once last summer and last night. Both times were disappointing, especially Sept 12, 2023. The overall service is disappointing and underwhelming. When we arrived, our friends were waiting at the table. About 15 minutes later, the server finally came to take our drinks. We decided to order at the same time as it was busy and seemed like they were overwhelmed. We got our drinks about 15 minutes after ordering. We got deep fried curds, which were not very warm. And a small container of sauce that was filled halfway, just not up to par with the $14 that we paid. There was no one really checking in on our table throughout the night. Our food came about 30 minutes after ordering. All at the same time which was nice, and we dug in. The server had not brought the food out and came by 1 minute after we got the dishes to ask how they were. At that point, none of us had time to taste anything so it seemed ok. Looked and smelt delicious. It was Burger week so we all had the special. I had taken about 3 bites and saw that the meat was a dark pink inside. I kept looking for a someone to speak to and there was no one. No one came to ask for more drinks - I wanted a 2nd beer but just drank my water as no one was around. I was starving at this point, so I just ate the bun and mushroom. I left the patty and planned on telling the server when she came back. 20 minutes goes by and she is coming to take our plates. I show her the patty that is almost red in the center, in a few places. She apologizes and takes my plate. I wasn’t sure what was happening. She came back for our glasses. I asked if she had told the manager. She said that she would and left again. 10 minutes later, she returned to tell me that the manager and head cook assured us that the meat was cooked fully and was safe. It was clearly a dark pink colour, and I did not feel safe eating it and was never given an option to rectify the situation. I felt like the manager should’ve came out and spoken to me but no one did. It’s not normal in Canada for ground beef to be a dark pink inside of a burger. I asked for some kind of resolution, and we were offered 15% discount on my meal, which to me was not acceptable. We will not be returning.

Seems like I was forced to sit at the bar, when we arrived, hostess was talking to a group saying it was a slower day. Looking around, there were many empty tables. When hostess spoke with us, said there were no availability until 7pm and said we could sit at the bar. We decided to sit at the bar. There was a tablet, a staff member's drink, and counter was dirty. Even though there was numerous employees talking to themselves, not a single person said hello or even took it upon themselves to move everything and clean it. Already annoyed, we finally were greeted by a female bartender. We had to ask for a menu and she had to go to the hostess to get them. That mess that was infront of me was finally clean by someone who was not at the bar. Was done after we placed or order. Several apps went around, being delivered to wrong guests. Some how, our food was delivered prior to the guests next to us that ordered before us and they seemed annoyed too. Food had great flavor but was cold and meat was dry. Was also really annoying trying to have a conversation while hearing all the waitress talking about their personal lives. For was delivered without cutlery. Had to ask. Same goes for the guests next to us. Overall, very disappointed. Was really looking forward to our first dining experience at you establishment. Felt we were an inconvenience and discriminated. How so? Were we placed at the bar because we were just 2 or did we look like we were cheap or thought we'd spend alot on liquor? If this is not the case, the only other explanation is they tell guests there are no available tables to fill the bar, as most don't want to sit at the bar. This would leave tables available for others. I bet that if I said no to the bar, we would have been seated at a table. Something going on there as the tables that were empty when we arrived, were empty when we left. Who ever was the manager was not visible and clearly, staff didn't seem to care. Will not return.

Where do I begin? This was our first time coming here, we arrived around 530 (Saturday Eve) and were told all the tables were reservations but we could sit at the bar. So we head to the 4 empty chairs and sit in the middle leaving an empty chair between us and the other couple at the bar. The bar tender doesn't greet us, just ignores us. A couple minutes later (maybe 2-3) a waitress comes up, greets us, and we ask for menus. We look over the menu, the couple beside us orders their choices, waitress takes our drink order, comes back and we order food. Start to notice no less than 3 waitstaff simply standing around, arms crossed, just chit chatting. Waiter comes over and asks us to one seat closer to the couple so they can sit more people at the bar (but no one takes those spots ..) waitress comes by asking if the cheese sticks she's holding are ours. (And also asks the couple next to us) our food came quickly, (poutine + burger) but no cutlery. Flag down the waitress and ask for cutlery. Start eating and maybe 5 minutes into it, the couple beside us (who we are now elbow to elbow with) still had not received their food, asks waitstaff to check on it. 5 - 6 more minutes and their food comes out - no cutlery. Watching a group of 3 across from us bartop receive 3 starters that also wern't theirs. We stayed about 45 minutes and on the way out counted AT LEAST 7 empty tables of various sizes, and STILL no one taking the 2 empty spots we were asked to move from. Food - no complaints Price - as expected for the food. Staff - disorganized and forgetful Atmosphere - not utilizing empty tables, cramming people around the bar, uncomfortable. I understand the function of reservations - but why not have your staff make it clear "we have a reservation at 7, but if you can be finished up before then, I'll seat you at a table, otherwise, the only other seating is bar top" We won't be coming back.

This was our second visit to Block and Blade. A restaurant that features local fare and with great flavour. The appetizer of the Manitoba cheese curds is is great for the featured product of deep fried cheese curds in a light batter but is made by the accompanying tomato based dipping sauce which is freshly made in house The pickerel and chips (pictured) was fresh and cooked perfectly but a bit more greasy than many beer battered fish and the fries were slightly underdone which may mean their frying oil was too cool. The other main pictured is their mac and cheese - although this version was without their bread crumb parmesan crust. They use a great blend of cheeses included a beautiful smoke flavour. The one disappointing main we ordered was the $37 New York Steak. While it was cooked to the perfect doneness, the whole order left a number of things to be desired. In the steak itself, it appears to have been cooked by a sous vide method and finished on a grill, which was great for doneness but it had a large and completely unrendered fat cap making parts of it unappetizing and inedible. It was also notably only seasoned on one side making for uneven flavor. The steak was to come with a red wine jus on top according to the menu, what arrived was a LARGE mass of gloppy, skinned over and over thickened gelatinous gravy underneath the steak. We were actually glad they didn't put it on top! The chosen starch of herb potatoes and side of seasonal vegetables were excellent but couldn't rescue this dish. Even if all was good, it seems slightly overpriced at $37 and we felt a $30 or $32 price point fit better. In addition to the excellent service and atmosphere, one thing that keeps you coming back is the creme brulee. A delight if a dessert we have had both times with the perfectly textured ultra smooth custard with a hint of lemon. The sugar crust on top was perfectly caramelized without the slightest hint of burned flavour that one often receives in a creme brulee. Despite the steak missteps we would return.

As one of the only licensed dining rooms in the area, we often find ourselves here for a drink or an appetizer after work. The past few visits we have noticed a very obvious decline in service. Sometimes this has meant the server has taken more than 10 mins to address us or take a drink order after being seated. Cutlery has been completely neglected at times and had to be requested. The food has mostly been predictably good, and is one of the other reasons we come back. What frustrated us about our visit this evening (a Tuesday evening at 7 PM) is that we went for Le Burger Week, all four of us ordering the same burger special, and my friend received a very obviously undercooked burger. After she addressed this politely with the server (who was very absent most of our stay), the server supposedly went to the manager and cook to notify them of this, and came back to tell us that the cook had cooked the burger to regulation temperature and there was nothing to worry about. So, they sent this server back out to deliver that message instead of the cook or manager addressing us directly- which is cowardly in the service industry. I'm not sure what's going on with the service management end of things but it seems like there is a very low standard being held in some areas. Not sure if we'll be back. I would rather spend a few more minutes in traffic than continue to be underwhelmed by crucial dining experience elements.

Update: finally returned on Sept. 19 as a friend was in from out of town. Emma had given me a credit for this visit as well. Very good customer service. Service that evening was amazing. Our food was brought to us quickly. I had the Chicken club and it was incredible. Only complaint would be that the fries were a little undercooked, but still acceptable. My wife really enjoyed the Butternut Squash Ravioli with chicken breast. Our friend had the Atlantic Salmon, and although the salmon was on the small side, the dish was very good. Overall this made up for our experience on the previous visit. Looking forward to returning. Old review: Worst hamburger I've ever had. Dry and flavourless. Too much bun compared to the burger. The other 2 in my party were happy I think. One had steak and the other had fish. Yam fries were soggy. Server kept using the terms "we" and "us" which was annoying. After dinner we had trouble finding the server for our bill. I would have complained but I didn't want to interrupt the other 2 in my party who hadn't seen each other in 25 years. Update: emailed customer service as requested and have not heard back. Looks good for them responding to a review though. Update: Emma found my email in the junk folder. Not a place emails from customers should end up. I'm sure our next visit will be better.

It was my first time here as I just wanted to try their Le Burger Week entry as it sounded interesting. Staff wanted to seat me by the bar as I was by myself but it was still somewhat noisy around there even as late as 9pm, so they were able to accommodate my request to sit at a table elsewhere. Atmosphere was alright and service was flawless but the food did not appeal to me. Server quickly checked up on me but I didn't complain since it took more than few bites for the full experience to sink in. Main issue was the patty itself was unappetizing as it was unusually salty -- I've tried other burgers elsewhere this week and didn't have this issue so I know it's not just a subjective salt-intolerance thing. Also, the burger sounded good on paper, but was conceptually misguided -- I understand that for Le Burger Week restaurants are typically competing for the most "exotic" or "gourmet" take on a burger, but here there were too many complex and competing flavors that may have worked well in isolation but do not go well together. On a more subjective note, there was what seemed to be a semi-sweet goat cheese on it, which I guess was supposed to be the "cheese and herb blend"..? I wish the ingredients had been more clear because I normally steer clear from that, especially on a burger. I can't really say what the restaurant's more typical offerings are like but I hope they are better than this.

This place is a celiac's dream! The staff are all very knowledgeable, and they can make almost any dish gluten free. They have a separate gluten free fryer for fries and yam fries. The food is always amazing and a good price. The atmosphere is verynice and you can choose to be on the dining room side or the bar side. It's a great place for a get together or a date. Unfortunately they did not have any non dairy milk alternatives for coffee though.

Parking
The restaurant backs onto the parking lot for the neighboring liquor mart and other box stores. There is usually plenty of space. There is also options for free street parking at the front and side but sometimes that is filled up.
Wheelchair accessibility
The restaurant is at ground level. I have not seen the bathrooms. The bar side is all bar height tables and booths so not good option for those in wheel chair or with mobility issues, however they have a dining room side as well with regular height tables.

Regarding business' reply to my review: This was our first time at your restaurant. So, we did not know the layout and thus wouldn't have known to specify where we'd like to sit. As well, a table by the washrooms or entrance should be saved for walk ins, not for those who made a reservation days in advance. My partner and I went for dinner yesterday with a reservation. We waited a few minutes for the table to be ready. We didn't like the table as it was right by the entrance and washrooms. Unfortunately, no other tables were available until after part of our order had arrived. So, we decided not to switch at that point. We did appreciate the effort made though. I had the chickpea soup and shrimp tempura. The soup needed a touch of salt, which was on the table. The shrimp was moreso battered than a true tempura coating, but each shrimp was large without too much batter and the presentation was nice. My partner had wings, plus a cajun chicken wrap with fries. He said it was good, the wrap filling needed a bit more dressing, and it kind of fell apart as he was eating it. Service was prompt, though a drink refill wasn't offered. I can't comment too much on the ambiance since we were seated right by the entrance. I'd consider coming back if someone asked me to join them.

This place was very busy on a Friday night. Be sure to make a reservation if you plan to go. The service was very good and attentive. With that said, that's where the good times ended. Heads up if you order the lettuce wraps. Instead of serving a lettuce cup of a good variety such as a leaf lettuce or butter lettuce, romain was served which was flimsy and had tears in it with big stems on the end. This made it almost impossible to put together a wrap and keep it together to eat. I ordered the perogy flatbread. The menu description led me to believe I'd get something that resembled the flavour of a perogy on a flatbread. What I got was more like a spiced onion ring platter on a crust with nacho sauce (apparently it's aioli). So fail.... Another member at my table ordered the Thai curry bowl. The first ingredient on the menu for this item was bokchoy. No bokchoy was actually in the dish. There was a cheaper substitution of celery which unfortunately my friend should not be eating due to a non anaphylactic allergy. The third main was a salmon which came out cold. We did not complain as it was out first time there and I guess that's how it is. We also were just were hungry and wanted to eat and leave. We like to try new places but this one just isn't for us. As my friend put it, "seems like the want to be an Earl's or Joey's but the quality and standard of food just isn't there."

We left Block and Blade very impressed! Kudos to the management and staff for their hard work and effort! From the menu selection, the quality of food they serve, their service, and the vibe you’ll feel while you’re there and after. For a start, we ordered the Classic Nachos and Bruschetta. They served large portion, so all 4 of us got to enjoy the appetizers while catching up leaving us almost full belly! For my main, I ordered the Roasted Beet Salad topped with Salmon which is a must try and to die for! It was a perfect choice for my palate and liking. I super enjoyed it! My group ordered a BBQ Brisket Wrap, Pesto Gnocchi Bowl with Angus Beef Sirloin Steak and Nasi Grain Bowl. They were all delighted with their respective orders. For the drinks, we tried the Peach Bellini and some local beers and tasted really great too! I’ve read good reviews about their drinks, and looking forward to try more on their list. Glad that we booked a reservation, the place was mostly busy and packed during weekends Prices were reasonable, I think. Overall, the experience was phenomenal! We wrapped our night very pleased and it was memorable. ❤️

Latest Review (Aug 7 2021): My last review was not super positive but I gave Block and Blade another shot and was VERY happy this time around. Our experience was exceptional, as was the food. The menu is much deeper than last time around, and they have more vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. I had the chicken burger, which ranks in the top 2 I've ever had (it has some heat), and my spouse had the Nasi Grain bowl which was very, very good. My guests had wings (which were cooked perfectly), and the creamy mushroom alfredo with blackened chicken. All was exceptional. I'm thrilled to have a local restaurant that I feel I can regularly frequent. Old Review (Oct 2020): I like that's its a local restaurant sourcing local ingredients. I also like that they use wood to smoke their food. That said, they took many items off the menu that were really good. Very limited menu for vegetarians and gluten free. More importantly, my wings were undercooked last time I went. Then we ordered in and the fish tacos made our guest sick. I'm disappointed because I really want to support my community restaurant. Hope things turn around. Serving staff is really friendly. ** Old Review **

The service was DOODOO. We ordered a burger and butternut squash ravioli with added steak cooked medium rare, and two cocktails. The server took our order, our food took long to arrive and my steak was burnt. The burger was flavourful and the ravioli was good but my steak was very over cooked with a charred outside and barely any pink to be found within. The server NEVER checked on us to see if we were happy with our food or wanted another drink. I had to chase down a random server and ask for horseradish after trying to wave them down and they were too busy talking. We finally were able to ask for the bill, after sitting with our dirty plates and empty glasses. The waitress took a long time to bring the bill and than randomly left without asking the method of payment we would like. We than waiting some more and went to the bar to ask to pay. The waitresses were talking a lot and didn’t seem concerned with the happiness of their guests. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone unless you have a lot of time to kill.

We got a table on the patio. Which was a little dirty and needed a good sweeping. But we had some drinks which were delicious. My partner and I ordered the lettuce wraps for an appetizer and they came quickly and were delicious. I then ordered a Chicken Blade Sandwich on a gluten free bun. My partner ordered the crispy chicken sandwich. Was then informed after waiting for 20 minutes that they were out of GF buns. When we got our food 40 minutes later it was cold. The fries were stone cold and so were our sandwiches. I then asked the waitress to ask them to refire the fries because they were cold. She came back 2 minutes later with another bowl of cold fries. Not great food at all. On top of that my partner did get food poisoning due to the cold chicken sandwich. Was very ill and needless to say we will not be visiting again.

Located in Sage Creek, lovely atmosphere, service, cocktails and food. Been here several times and it never disappoints. Option of sitting in dinning room, lounge side or patio (weather permitting). Think higher end Earls with better food Tried the Catus patch and Margarita and both were well mixed (fresh lime and not overly sweet). I’m particular . Food was well prepared and seasoned for Thai curry and lettuce wraps. Several vegetarian options on the menu with choice to add tofu (thanks for not forgetting about us . Burger was large and “meaty goodness” per my friend and poutine was also delicious and made right with curds. Must try the deep fried cheese curds! Recommend reservations on weekends during prime time as the place was packed.

The ammount of salt in the food here is overwhelming. Two days ago I ordered a sliced beef sandwich. I could not even taste the beef, just spice and salt salt, salt. Today was terrible service in patio. I waited 1/2 hour for each drink to arrive, taking 1.5 hours to receive 3 drinks! Sober up between drinks? Then a wasp went swimming in my beer, swam around, and crawled out. I asked for replacement beer. After a 1/2 hour wait, the waitress brings HALF GLASS OF WARM BEER! I am a rgular patron who lives close by. For 2 years I have been spending lots of $ at BNB, always tipping 15%. Whoever made the 'save the cost of half a beer' decision should not be a manager. The concept of respecting regular local patrons has been mismanaged. Cheap deserves cheap. No tips for you!

First time here with my hubby and had a great experience. It seemed a little busy on a Wednesday evening but only waited about 10 min to get a table. The food was fantastic! I had the spicy red Thai curry bowl and added prawns (a little expensive for 5 pieces). It was really tasty and I even have leftovers! I would order it again without prawns. My husband ordered the chicken club with onion rings and he enjoyed it. He ate everything so quick! We were very happy with the amazing service (thank you Danica!) and will definitely be back to try other items on the menu!

I called to extend the reservation time. Despite this, less than an hour and a half later, we were offered a box for food, although we had not yet started eating. It seemed that the waitress wanted us to leave the restaurant as soon as possible. However, the restaurant was practically empty. We were not asked if we liked the food and drinks. We wanted to order much more, but we were already offered the bill. The desire to spend time in such an institution disappeared in the first hour. The service is terrible. I will not advise anyone to visit this restaurant.

Positive reviews brought me to this popular local hang out. The vibe was lively and the place exuded casual but chic ambiance. Ordered a glass of rosé to go with my Manitoba Pickerel and Chips and the president ordered Blackened Chicken and House Smoked Ribs Combo with Rice Pilaf and Onion Rings. First time having Pickerel and it was delicious. The Yam Fries was a little soggy but the aioli had a real kick to it. The kitchen was really slow and it took a while to get our food but our server was great. Overall, the food was good and the pricing reasonable, our server was great but the wait time was a real downer.

$33 for undercooked ravioli, which I could count on two hands how many pieces were there. The steak was so tough and stringy that my dog couldn't chew it. It was also all cold! What a disappointment and waste of money. The Ceasar was the only good thing of the night. The server (generic, so I don't know her name, she didn't introduce herself) came by 3 times total, didn't ask us how the meal was at all. She avoided us until she pressed us to leave, and it wasn't even busy.bill was well over $200, save your time and money, I suggest going to Dennys instead.

We've been on the lookout for a good place to eat out around the area, and I think we've finally found it. Food was excellent, cocktails creative and delicious and service top-notch. We went for an early dinner with the kids and the hostess gave us a heads-up that we had a 2-hour window as the table was reserved- really appreciated the upfront communication which meant that we never felt rushed. Looking forward to going back (without the kids next time!)

First time here tonight, the food was really good, the wings were amazing! However service was a bit lacking, we stood at the front for almost 5-10 minutes before being acknowledged even though it wasn’t busy and then getting a server and getting drinks took quite a bit of time to the point where we felt almost ignored for the first 15 minutes of being sat. However once we did get a server she was very nice. Would try this place again!

Fantastic! Stopped in Sunday for lunch and we were very impressed. The food and service were outstanding. The cheese curd appetizer was the best we have had since being in Wisconsin! The burger was so very good, and the fries were unbelievable. The Thai Curry Bowl was very tasty and was a large portion for sure. Wine and beer selection was also excellent. Thank you to Madison for her very good service. Spoke to Chad C. as we walked out to compliment him on his excellent restaurant. He seemed very involved in the operations - no wonder they are successful. This is a “must visit” restaurant in Winnipeg.

It was our first time visiting. We tried the fried chicken week special. It was ok. Ok only due to travel time to get home to enjoy it (probably better hot from kitchen) But their regular menu items were really good. The veggie burger... yum! I’m not a vegetarian and I’d order that next visit! The onion rings are really good. The Caesar salad was fresh and good but not my favourite dressing (think horse radish is in it) but I’m fussy with that flavour. I would still love to try their other menu items as they look really good. 4/5. Front desk guy was great and the note left on the bag was sweet.

Went for dinner with my boyfriend - absolutely wonderful experience! Staff are friendly & fast. We shared 2 appetizers (fried cheese curds and stuffed mushrooms), both were delicious! Each had our own drinks and a flight of beer, and our dinners (chicken & ribs, and the alfredo). Mouth-watering to say the least! The Alfredo was perfectly creamy, and I had prawns added which were huge! Chicken and veggies were amazing too! But the star of dinner had to be the ribs! They were smoked in house and were to die for! Will definitely be returning!

We booked a table for a birthday three and a half weeks in advance via open table. We were notified an hour and a half before our reservation today that it was cancelled. We were told the table was double booked and the entire restaurant was full until 8pm (much later than our original booking). Very disappointed that a table that was booked almost a month in advance was cancelled for what I assume was double booked call in (and last minute which left us pressed to find another restaurant on a Saturday). Do not use OpenTable if it is not reliable for you.

We have the chicken week special it was Savoury and sweet with a little kick. Definitely enjoyed it. Joe was the server in the bar he was fast and friendly. Drinks are kind of expensive. I didn’t care for their Long Island read menu later see they put spiced rum. They made me a Bahama mama. I don’t think it was on the menu. Good attempt. Definitely will come back to try other menu items. Nice clean friendly atmosphere.

Perfect place to sit on the patio and enjoy some local food! We were looking to support a local restaurant so we loved that this restaurant is locally owned and operated. With the beautiful weather we were so excited to finally enjoy it and sit on the (clean & socially distant) patio. We loved how clean and spread out all the tables were! We felt safe and knew we could just focus on the awesome food and drinks. We tried the amazing Vegetarian burger & fish tacos! Both of them were delicious! Make sure you get the yam fries! So good!

I'm a regular at this restaurant ever since I've tried the ribs and chicken combo and loved it. I've tried ordering yesterday and both girls on the phone couldn't understand what I was saying after repeating myself over and over. It was so frustrating because I order food here every weekend and never had this issue. Called twice to confirm my order just to get there to get the wrong meal. The food I received tasted disgusting and cold, the french fries were all soggy and cold. Had to garbage it all at home. Such a waste of money!

First time here and definitely not the last. Drinks were top notch and the food was very flavourful. Server was knowledgeable about items on the menu and steered us to help us make our decision. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and well worth the 45min drive. Till next time.

This was my first time at this restaurant. I came with a group of friends and was happy to see that they had gluten free options on the menu. I ordered the Vegetarian Burger with a gluten free bun and apple and cranberry salad. It was $22 plus tax. The server was very accommodating with my dietary restrictions. I wanted to try the beet chips but apparently they are only available on weekends? This was disappointing so I’m giving 4/5 stars.

Delicious! Yummy! Wonderful! So Good! All words that we mentioned during our recent visit for dinner on a girls night out. As someone who knows how to make a good nasi, I thought the nasi dish was delicious. I also going to strongly recommend the spiced Mango-Rita - yummy! The Caesar salad was also plentiful. The atmosphere was lovely, background music not too loud and service was quite attentive. We’ll be back!!

The house smoked rib was dried and cold, not sure if that’s how it should be but was expecting it to be tender and soft. The side salad and yam fries were great. The Block’s burger could be better, patty was a bit on the dried side. Edit: forgot to mention there’s quite a number of house flies around it’s quite annoying

Great food, great atmosphere, highly recommend. I just wish you would stop forgetting dips and dressings all the time, very frustrating to get home with your food only to find you have no Greek dressing for your Greek salad or spicy mayo for yam fries. We order from here a lot and it happens more often than not.

Amazing service! Just think Earl's vibe with better food + it is local! I recommend you try their massive and impressive drink menu - they all sound really good, but their martinis are really good, and special cocktails are so delicious. This place is always popular, so make sure to make a reservation before you go. Food is amazing and reasonably priced. Menu has changed since they have opened but all the new items on the menu is fantastic as well! Really good service as well!!

First time at this restaurant yesterday. It was a great experience. We sat on the patio, enjoyed a couple pints and some delicious lunch. Nice to go to a restaurant that actually prepares food from scratch. They were following all Covid protocols and I felt very safe the entire visit. Lots of local draft options. Its also nice to support a locally owned business. We will be back for sure. A real cute manager visited our table and made sure we were having a great experience. :)

I want to express our gratitude to the staff at doing an excellent job at taking care of our large group from Windsor Community Center. The women enjoyed their meals, service was excellent and everyone had an excellent time. A special thanks to our main server Jessica C.

I like this restaurant a lot and was glad I remembered it as an option to come to. We came here and had appys and food. The cheesecake dessert option was amazing. The food was tasty. Food was excellent, our server listened to all of our requests and made our experience exactly as we requested, sweet potato fries were extra crispy and delicious. All the food was served piping hot and fresh. The patio was busy but comfortable, we didn’t feel crowded and it was nice and private from the surrounding traffic and pedestrians.

I've come here several times in the last few months but didn't quite have a good experience recently. I had the tacos for taco week but found them a bit underwhelming. Red Thai was a bit bland but more so the waiter wasn't on top of things as well as our previous waitresses. On a positive note, My wife ordered the veggie delight sandwich and found it to be great along with her pretty in pink drink. Still recommend and will be back.

Terrible and overrated. Try hards that think they're a part of some high society. This isn't downtown Vancouver so don't try to charge me the going rate if the Fairmont on Waterfront for frozen trash food and unfriendly service. At least learn to work your microwave right.

Beautiful place with tasty food. Way better than Earl's with a beautiful patio and trendy vibe. Their wings were absolutely delicious, crispy and flavorful! The zingria, a sangria with berries and citrus is super amazingly refreshing. Also the crispy tofu bowl made with rice, peanuts, green onion, tomatoes and teriyaki sauce so good I wish I had more! Definitely worth the drive!

Finally got to check out the inside of Block and Blade! We had such a great dinner and were so excited to try some items from the new extended menu! We absolutely loved the lettuce wraps and the potato crisps! So glad we saved room for desserts because we were obsessed with the salted caramel chocolate tart!

The food was fine and somewhat reasonably priced. Service was not good, our table was barely attended to. Took 15 minutes for one soft drink to arrive, and almost 30 minutes just for appetizers. The server was staring at the payment machine while we were inputting the tip which felt very awkward. More

Had opportunity to go to Block and Blade again last week. Was not disappointed. The food was excellent as was the service thanks to Quentin. I found it strange we couldn’t be seated at a table, only the bar even with reservations. The tables around us remained empty. I’m guess they were short staffed.
