Today I came for groceries here and I feel like I needed to complain about your cashier's behavior at work. I asked one of the staff working there their names. The cashier's name are Wedrie, Fatiha and Afifah. I was waiting in the queue when suddenly Afifah went to the counter 8 from her original counter 5. These 3 cashiers were playing around over at that counter. Laughing and joking around during work time while the other cashiers were doing their job. But when the cashier from counter 1 was calling for Wedrie for help, he didn't notice as he was busy playing with the girls at counter 8. When the counter 1 cashier called Wedrie's name again, he was being rude by saying "Sabar la". I think Wedrie is their supervisor and behave very rudely to the cashier. This happened around 7:00pm-7:30pm. You may check the CCTV if you need to. My point here is doesn't mean that you're a supervisor, you can behave very rudely to your staff. They are also normal human beings. Not just that. Yesterday, about 8pm-10pm, my friend told me that she saw Afifah drinking Carlsberg given by the promoter. She drank 2 cups of it. Her friend took it for her and my friend thought that she was joking around but she actually drank it. I thought Muslims are not allowed to drink alcohol. This is a serious matter. Please check into it. Because this is ruining the image of your company.
My first time doing my groceries shopping here. I was presently surprised this place is well stock of local and imported stuffs. Fruits and vegetables are fresh looking too. Many choices with fair prices and some are quite cheap on offer. Browsing around here for groceries is fun though as there are varieties to choose from. Do pay attention to the pricing and you will notice some items on offer ..... really cheap. I noticed that there is a section that sells wines and beer . Good enough for a selection of a normal drinker. As I am in a hurry, I did not look into the meat and fish section. But was told the fish look fresh. On the way to the car park, I noticed there was a DIY store in the same premise. Probably will check it out on my next visit. { This place is good for the wheelchair users as there is a ramp leading to the entrance }
Impressive, upmarket urban grocer, replacing the former Giant Supermarket which had been the anchor tenant since 2003. Pleasant shopping ambience, similar to Jaya Grocer and Village Grocer. Star Grocer now takes up the floor space vacated by the former Guardian Pharmacy, while the right corner of the building is now occupied by the new Mr D.I.Y hardware store. Prices of items are somewhat mixed - some items are more expensive than Jaya Grocer and vice versa. The interior is brightly lit and the new glass doors at the entrance keeps the air conditioning cool at all times. Star Grocer offers free parking only for the first hour with every RM40 spent on a single receipt. There is a NO passing through policy here and the parking operator will still charge you for the first hour, even if you did not park your vehicle.
Can you imagine this groceries companies do not have a contact number? I went there last Sunday and purchase some groceries. There was a one hour rebate in car park fee as I parked more than one hour. I was using my Touch n Go card for the parking fee. However, when I tapped my Touch n Go card, I was still charged the same amount as though I had parked there for more than one hour. The car park attendant claimed that he has reset my Touch n Go but nothing happened. I tried to contact them via FB but there was no response. There is no contact number on the receipt also. Even though the car park fee may not a big deal but in terms of experience, it was not as pleasant as I hoped for. They need to improve their customer service in order to challenge other big players like Jaya Grocer or Village Grocer.
This is overall a pretty great grocery store. Just a few metres away from my house. I still remember the time when it was still a Giant Supermarket. Good to see Star Grocer taking over. Anyways, the air conditioning in Star Grocer is really cold. There are also some imported food from out of the country like Snickers Cream Bars. But I'd like to give the people reading my review some advice, if you're going to go Star Grocer, just take what you need and less of what you don't really need. Prices at Star Grocer are pretty high so don't buy too many midnight snacks. There is also a Mr. D.I.Y. within the building next to the Star Grocer so that's pretty convenient. Overall, Star Grocer is pretty convenient and I would recommend this grocery store
My go-to place to get grocery in PJ. Located in Taman Paramount/ Sea Park, Star Grocer offers a wide ranges of fresh produce and frocey for shoppers. I love the simple layout and ease to navigate the place. Vegetable and meats was usually fresh. They also have loyalty app (Food Direct) to earn points while shop. Accepted e-wallet, cash or card. Parking was fuss free, if you purchase above RM30 will get free 1 hour carpark, Rm100 for 2 hours free. There are car wash, mamak stall and Mr DIY attached which attached together inside the open air parking facilities which offers great convenience. There are food track in the front door that sells soya milk product, Bak kua and cendol sometimes.
No big deal. This spore-owned retailer has tried to improve from where giant has left off by making a marked difference in presentation and display of goods on the rack and shelves. Not quite up to mark when compared to BIG. They get 7/10 for style and presentation but 5/10 for substance and content. A sizable portion of the clientele which used to patronise the former giant of paramount gdns isn't likely to return as new followers of the new star grocer as pricing for star grocer seems to be a tad bit more than what giant used to charge. The retail sector isn't like what it used to be with the advent of online shopping but it's still early days yet to pass judgement on star grocer
The biggest supermarket in the Paramount Garden neighbourhood . The place feels modern and well - design in its layout . Plenty of household items but their meat selection is rather limited i.e. I could not find mince chicken .. Price is fair value . Easy check out / payment with plenty of counters . If you need more things which you can't find in this supermarket, well Mr. DIY is just next door and while you're shopping, can even tah pau your favourite food for there are many good food shops around Paramount Garden. Huge parking area - covered and uncovered - and you can get your parking ticket validated for minimum purchase of RM 30 ( fair and easily achievable ).
A wonderful, friendly-neighborhood supermarket that's superseded what used to be Giant supermarket in SEA Park. The layout and interior design has definitely well-thought for customer attraction and product presentation, especially near the entrance. This place has quite a decent range of goods, but not as expansive as what Jaya Grocer offers. The essential food ingredients like onions and garlic are placed just outside the entrance, which makes it very convenient for customers. Overall, shopping here is always a pleasant experience and you'll usually find what you need on your typical grocery run.
There are price differences between display prices and billing prices. Found this in quite a number of food products. This is a serious offence according to consumer protection laws. Shoppers should check the display price and the price on your bill when payment is made Lots of stale stuff being sold. Vegetables are almost rotten but packaged discreetly with rotten ones inside. Be careful when buying rice. The bags have holes and are no longer vacuum packed. Same with other packaged groceries. Management should take note of the degrading quality of the products sold and take corrective measures.
Inside the supermarket , all were well placed and the wet section food were fresh. Only one has to be cautious when it comes to parking. After payment, make sure you validate your parking ticket so that you need not have to pay for the 1st hour. We didn't know that and when exit, we were charged double. I went to question the store manager and we went to clarify at the parking booth. Actually is RM 3 for 1st hour and subsequent hour is RM 1.50. So why do I pay RM6? Obviously the man inside the booth smiling ear to ear with the extra RM1.50 per car. So just be on the alert
Many items in this grocer are more expensive than Village or Jaya Grocer. Since already more expensive, at least provide better service. Many of your cashiers refuse to help your customers pack their goods even after they have paid. Instead they rather stand there to watch their customers struggle with taking out their wallets to pay and then stand there and do nothing while their customers do their best to quickly pack their purchased goods avoid delaying the queue behind. Your management needs to learn a thing or two about customer service from Village and Jaya Grocer.
I was at the Grand opening on Friday (September 13, 2019). The crowd of people here were simply staggering and there were hardly much room to move about as the aisles are narrow. However several items on promotion were very attractive e.g fresh whole chicken at only RM 4.99 per kg and Ayamas chicken sausage selling at RM 1.99 per pack and many others.. Parking were expensive at RM 3 per hour. However, shoppers were given free parking with minimum RM 30 purchases. Update: Frequently they have promotions on weekends where chosen items are masked down.
The grocer that I go everyweek..since I stay nearby..hahaa…For me, I can say it is a complete grocer…because I can get almost all the things here (halal & non halal)…price wise..and all the vege and fruits are all look fresh. The place is not big actually but is complete inside…trolly provided..small trolly for kids also provided… payment like normal..can use both cash and card… For the parking, can parking inside the star grocer’s parking…and if you purchase more than RM 30..you can get a FREE parking
Went in today. Had problem with the parking ticket, it was raining. I could not get out of the parking lot, and had to walk in the rain to him to ask for help. He knew we were having problem getting out because he can see us from where he was seated. Ticket was validated. The attendant is a very rude person. Not only to me but to the car in front of me. He was screaming at us while letting us out. Is this how you treat your customers?what is the management going to do about this rude behavior?
Nice location, good range of products and conducive shopping environment. But utterly rude and badly trained floor staff. They block the isles with no regard for customers and spread products on the floor and everywhere else. I'm sure it's not safe for customers. Aside from that they simply ignore your need to pass through and display no respect when asked for help. Hope management will look into this as it's such a shame when everything else is working right.
This building was a former community cinema closed down and converted to an outlet of supermarket chain which also closed down and run by the present Star Grocer group. It has a 24-hr mamak restaurant and a plant and flower nursery store at each sides. The place offers clean and comfortable shopping which fresh produce and good range of household products. Service crews are efficient. Prices are competitive. It has a larger parking bays for patrons.
Star Grocer is another chain supermarket that is making a mark here. Very clean environment to shop for your groceries. Pricing is cheaper than Village or Jaya Grocer - but a tad more expensive than Tesco and Giant's pricing. Nevertheless, the layout makes its easy for you to breeze about and get your daily necessities. Simply convenient for those staying around this neighbourhood. Parking is free if you purchase rm30 or above, otherwise its rm3.
I love this neighbourhood grocer because it's fuss free. You can waltz in after parking in their compound, and claim free parking if you shop there. The selection is quite good and they have some premium brands. Not quite like a Jaya Grocer, but a level above Tesco. Their selection of fresh food like seafood is pretty decent. If you're staying around the area, you have to drop in to see what it's like. Being next to Mr DIY is a bonus.
Lunar New Year upcoming and today I'm really happy to found Star Grocer Taman Paramount accept BYOC for CNY jerky I love jerky so much but before I always feel guilty as every slice has own plastic bags, even though I still keep the bags and clean them but due to the fat oil they waste a lot soap and water to clean Now I could enjoy the jerky with my Vietnamese Lunar New year cake in peace #BYOC
Medium-sized supermarket housed in former cinema biilding. Prices slightly above par. Neat shelves, compact arrangements. Liquor & non-halal sections too. Outsourced car park riddled with potholes. Free 1 hour parking if buy rm30 here but not from next door merchant 'MrDIY'. Becareful when buying tubs of ice-cream, sometimes already melted and refrosted. Cashiers are helpful & pleasant. Ambience is clean and tidy.
This is the best grocery shop around this neighbourhood. The price is quite cheap compared to other grocery stores. The range of items available is quite wide including many international brands/goods. The meat and seafood are fresh too. Parking is easy and free too if you spent RM100. This place has become my regular source for groceries. There's a Mr DIY next door if you need to buy items beyond groceries.
Great Grocery store with a huge variety of local and imported products, and reasonably priced. Ample parking space and next door to DIY. They have a vamp for people to push their wheel chair or trolleys too. Staff friendly and more efficient than a lot of other grocery stores. I get my fresh vegetables, fresh fish and fresh meat there. Especially like their crispy garlic and fried shallots in oil.
Quite a well-stocked supermarket with a good range of products from fresh fruit and vegetables to seafood and meats. They even have a decent non-halal section selling wines and pork. They're new so the look is fresh and welcoming. They seem to be midrange ie definitely above the lower Giant quality but a notch below the Jaya Grocers/Village Grocers of the world in terms of range and quality.
Well decorated place, new, refreshing interior and ambience. There isn't a washroom, however a washroom could be located outside the store, adjacent the mamak restaurant. The overall price range of items are average, slightly more than Aeon big, however there were selected new choices that Aeon doesn't carry. A good place for those around this vicinity to shop. Beside is Mr. DIY shop.
Nice shelves layout. An oversized grocery store with basic fresh produce and small meat section, not exactly a supermarket per se. Outdoor parking lot, manned by an unreliable man who's always missing in the evenings at the exit booth. Pot holes just recently resurfaced. 1 hr f.o.c. parking for purchases above rm30. Cashiers are very helpful except for one slow grumpy looking lady.
First time been here and before these was Giant supermarket , so when went in there kept the place very extremely clean ,bright lights and cool environment , most places there don't maintain these type of places surprisingly, and variety itmes , many brands rhey carry , neatly kept shelves, only things managment should resurface the parking area to better conditions please
It's an upgrade compared to the previous Giant supermarket here. They do have nice promotion from time to time. However there is no meat (beef) section here. What kind of supermarket don't sell beef? Staff is ok but one malay cashier got a bit of attitude when I have a problem with my card and he dropped the card when passing it back to me without apologizing. Manners...
There’s good and bad with Star Grocer which took over the Giant which was located here. The cons with Star Grocer, their items price may not necessary be the lowest in the market. The pros with Star Grocer, ample parking, stocked with many local and imported items. Thus the variety is huge. Location is central and if you spend above rm30 parking is subsidised.
Many varieties of fresh vages, breads and cakes, fruits, snacks, dairy products, fresh or frozen meats, vegetarian materials, steamboat materials, ice cream, King crab..... pretty much more to say. By the way, chasier counter all very good service attitude (hope will never ever change). This is the most important reason can't stop myself going there...
Unfriendly staff. Parking ticket never inform need to chop beforehand. When wanted to pay he said please go back in and chop (and continued on playing with his smartphone game). All these confusion could be better managed or prevented if cashier staff and attendants are better trained. Otherwise this place is clean and comfortable experience.
Compared with the old Giant, this revamped version is much nicer to shop - it’s not too big and there is a good variety of local as well as imported foodstuff to pick from... Along with a sizable seafood and non-halal section to boot... But best of all is that it’s near my office, perfect for a last-minute grocery pickup upon finishing work!
Everything was well organized, slightly pricey but I'd say worth it. All good except one of the staff there. He's quite rude and talk to customer in a very impolite way. ( Male cashier on duty on 13 Feb 2020 1.09pm at the second last cashier counter) Attention to HR department of star grocer to provide some training for staff like this.
While a notch up above the previous tenant Giant, be wary of mistakes in pricing. Had to return here twice, once they keyed in a different (and more expensive) fish, and second time they applied a RM24 barcode sticker for Japanese pears on a fresh coconut? I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, for now.
My views of Star Grocer has changed from 3* to 5* as a small residential supermarket. Product range and offers have improved so much to serve the locals in this part of PJ. Good fruits and vegetables section. Only complaint, they are always out of stock of Farmers Union Greek yogurt, a breakfast staple.
Good service, very well maintained and has a variety of products! Only thing is to beware of their fresh meat products (especially chicken!) - not so fresh!! I rlly love their DIY fresh orange juice and nut butter concept tho!! Feels amazing and unique! Same goes with the pretty banana environment :)
Air-con is strong and food look fresh. New opening also a lot of items got discount like strawberry, Maggie Mee, household grocery things. Price is quite reasonable as well. Hope quality can be maintained. Beside also has a Mr DIY shop. Overall very convenient location for paramount residence.
I live quite near to Star Grocer but it was only recently that I checked this place out. Indeed I was pleasantly surprised! It's very clean, very competitive pricing and I can find most, if not all of my weekly grocery items. It's also opened early. You have just gained a loyal customer.
Good place to shop for grocery with lots of variety which include products from overseas, fruits are fresh and there is an orange juicer that you can make your own fresh orange juice. There is halal and non-halal meat section and there is always products on promotion for extra savings
Long queue when there were only 2 cashiers on duty on a Public Holidays/Sundays. Decided not to buy anything because it would take about 30 mins to 45 mins to pay for my groceries. Supermarket Management should anticipate more customers on busy days and open more counters.
Housed in an old cinema which was previously occupied by Giant, Star Grocer is feels like an upmarket grocery but with reasonable prices. The vegetables, fish and meat look very fresh. Parking is also free for purchase of RM 30 and above. Certainly worth repeat visits
fresh fresh fresh and so on so forth. small yet almost complete daily essential items. just next door to Mr DIY. many food hawkers stall surrounding this premise. after shopping you could drop by at mamak restaurant attach to the building and enjoy your favorite meals
Nice place to shop, clean and well stocked with daily necessities, shelves are neatly arranged. Occasional promo items are good value, vegetables and fruits are at good prices. Staff are friendly and helpful, ample parking and free for 1 or 2 hours with purchases
Pls do check your receipt to ensure the description in it is the same as in the packaging. Yesterday I bought 3 x 10 Telur Kampung selling at RM6. 20 per 10 eggs but was charged RM6. 50 per 10 eggs and shown as EGG LTP CORN PLUS KAMPUNG. Short change RM0. 90!
You practically can purchase almost everything/food stuffs here. Even fresh seafood and poultry and meat. They hav imported food and vegetables too. There s an alcohol section...but all halal and non halal are well separated. Very clean and helpful team.
Reasonable prices, friendly staff and brightly lit. Their range of products is wide and appears to target the middle income group who constitute the majority of the people in the surrounding areas. Will definitely shop there more often in future.
Finally seapark gets a decent supermarket. Its convenient, ample parking, staff are helpful..stocks imported stuff, most things are available.,prices more or less okk.Recently prices have been raised on quite a no of goods.Overall I like the store
Looks like Star Grocer is somewhat has some kind of connection with Whole Foods. If you know Whole Foods, then you will know Star Grocer. Generally, Star Grocer is a nice place to shop for groceries, and they have a wise variety of produce.
I like this place. It's like a mini Jaya or Village Grocer. However, as it is smaller, it may not carry some common brands or the full product lines of all brands. Other than that, it is convenient and parking is relatively easy to find.
Paling tiada logik parking kena bayar walaupun drop off customer. Resit tak bagi pula bila diminta. Katanya manual. Abah dia manual dah hujung tahun 2022 dah. 16/12/2022 anggaran 8:10-8:20. Daripada pemandu Grab tersakiti.
Carry quite comprehensive stuff. Value for money are those on promo. Suggest that they allowed free 1.5hrs parking for those whose purchases are above RM40. Also to improve numbers of cashiers during peak times.
I am able to get my groceries, fresh vegetables, meat, poultry, seafood etc. Really clean & orderly stocked goods. They have really polite & helpful staff. A really great place to shop for your daily needs....!!
Brand new grocery store. Replacing previous GIANT. Almost at par with international grocery store. Offers Japanese food items. Got Non-Halal section. However, lacking in Korean food items and western icecream.
Although the building is not large, but most of the items are available for the CUSTOMERS. Free parking, provided you shop.at this place. The side shop.is DIY and most of the household items are also available.
No real deals here, unlike the Giant outlet that it replaced. The supermarket has a modern layout but fails to serve the local low income community here. Items seem overpriced compared to the larger chains.
The RM 30 one receipt FOC 1 hour parking is excellent. That area parking has been a big problem. You solved it brilliantly The store's location is ideal for the neighbourhood being the old cinema site.
Neighbourhood grocer. Good for sundry items like bread and everyday essentials. However, veggies, fish and poultry are sometimes not as fresh. Parking is adequate but better to go before lunch or after 2.
Veg section has good selection though abit pricy. Good place for weekly grocery trip if neighborhood convenience is concerned or when one can't travel inter District to giant grocer such as NSK like now.
Is very convenient to me for everyweek purchase. Have to said it is big enough, the parking fee sometimes can free on charge, beside have Mr DIY. However, it still abit expensive come to others grocery.
A convenient grocery shopping place. But products can be as pricey as Jaya/Village grocer. Fresh meat/ chicken must be vetted before buying. Vegetables are packed so usually in acceptable condition
Pretty good grocer. Clean & well organised. Lots of choices. Prices are okay. There is also a fresh meat/seafood & non halal section. Free parking. Friendly staff. Decent promos from time to time.
small supermarket with limited range of foodstuff and household goods. good thing is many items are comparatively cheap. some as much 25% to 30%. easy parking. place to go for daily essentials.
Well it's considered a more pricey grocery shop. But overall it's maintained nicely and it has a good environment. Not too bad I guess but well when it's grocery it's just the price sooo .....
Your neighborhood grocery store. Nice shopping experience, love buying chicken meat here, cheap and fresh. Very clean as well. Buy minimum RM30 to get free parking or simply just park outside.
Cleaniness, quite great. But value, not much. A little crampy when fitting more people. Speedmart99 sells most things cheaper. Well.. it is more comfy here though. I'd say 3.5 star overall.
Convenient, price slightly expensive a little compare to wet market. Air conditioner and good cleanliness environment. Selection are kinda limited, but general selection mostly available.
Placement of the parking machine is way too far in at the entrance. Even at full stretch, some drivers cannot reach and have to step out of their cars to tap on the machine. Really dumb.
A decent successor to Giant but prices of goods on average are on the higher side. Only certain goods on promotion can somewhat be considered cheap. Vegetables are decently priced though
Good place to shop fresh food/groceries and high variety of items including some of the imported foods.. just the item is slightly at the higher end except for certain items on discount
Tak besar tak kecik..tetapi semua barang keperluan ada..pasaraya buka seawal 8pagi.kalo hari ahad, ad pasar malam di sebelah pasaraya..bolehla oak me pergi. Recommended.terbaik
Not bad, limited variety, can't compare to a Village Grocer or Cold Storage (at least this outlet). The opening time might be a bit of a confusion, 8.30am was during MCO.
Uncleared merchandise on the trading floor with restrictive walkway today. Generally it has sufficient stocks for a weekly budget with daily promotional discounted item.
Convenient location, friendly staff, and a great selection of fresh produce and well organised (limited sheltered parking and free parking for doing your grocery here).
My favourite places to get groceries Very clean staff's are very helpful. My favourite place in the store is fish and chicken section. The price is so reasonable
Parking was daylight robbery. Cant find parking but charged RM3 per entry. Only entered for 7 minutes. Was told parking is onky free for 5 minutes! Absurd!
Bought a 2 liter bottle of Farm fresh milk in Paramount garden, the seal was missing and contents diluted. Won't buy anything from this place again.
It's compact yet stocks a good variety of of fresh produce, meats and seafood. Clean and that's important these days. Payment counters are efficient
Clean and comfortable environment. Limited space for variety of goods. Lots of imported food products. Staffs are friendly, polite and helpful.
Well managed supermarket. Best thing is that they have their own staff who'll gut and clean your fish and chop poultry without extra charge.
Good location. Has their own parking. Has alot of choices in a small place. Love to visit here when at PJ. Chicken and fish are fresh.
Nice local grocery store with Jaya/Village Grocer vibes. Ample of parking plus there's Mamak and Mr Diy shop next to it. Perfect.
Fresh vegetables (botanic farm) fish and chicken. There are also non halal sections. The price is not cheap but not expensive.
DIY got plenty of stuff. The supermarket has great variety. Like to shop here. Parking is horrible though...rm3.30!!!!???
Marketplace well stocked with variety of fresh vegetables and fruits. Watch out for their weekly bumper harvest sales!
Love this place Not too expensive but they have a very interesting range of groceries many other places don't have
If you stay around Jalan 21/1 This the only Grover nearby Aircon, auto open door entrance and exit
Stuffs kinda pricey compared to elsewhere, but still is good to have a neighbourhood store around.
Poor pricing. Mediocre protein and vegetable options. A lot of canned food and noodle options
Bought 3 pcs Japanese sweet potatoes for RM5+. 2 pcs were rotten inside. Feeling upset.
I buy some fresh fruits and vegetables, some item are cheap..very recommend to others..
Majority of essential available. Ample parking. Free if buy above a certain amount
Wide variety, quite fresh, ample parking and price is reasonable …
Very good varieties of vegetables and fruits and other grocery items.
Nice supermarket. Very tidy, with a variety of goods to choose from
Everything you want can find here… like to come here for groceries
