If you wish to understand society's lack of confidence in the judicial system then looking at the magistrates is a good start. They dismiss anything they don't understand. They are too afraid of not appeasing woke ideals. And if somehow the defendant is found guilty the sentence is so trivial it leaves victims and witnesses feeling neglected, frustrated and wondering if the whole process is worthwhile. The magistrates are not accountable for their actions no matter how wrong, unlike police officers. And there seems to be no formal process of complaining about a magistrate's malpractice and having it investigated, also unlike police officers. Even politicians can be questioned and replaced for their actions. Out of the three branches is it the judicial that is most untouchable and the least accountable. The system is failing Australians.

I was there for a parking fine, myself and others that were there soon realized we were only there to lodge pleas. We soon discovered if you lodged a guilty plea your case was heard the same day but if you plead not guilty you are given another attendance date which turned out to be 7 months away. I don't understand why you have to wait 7 months for your case if you plead not guilty but you are dealt with on the same day if you plead guilty. I saw several people change their plea to guilty once they were informed they would have to wait 7 months, this is just wrong. In the small courtroom I was in there were about 10 large TV screens showing a letter explaining why you should plead guilty and avoid pleading not guilty. The process is aimed at coercing people to plead guilty even if they are not guilty. This is not any form of justice.

I cannot even express the way I feel about the magistrates at Sutherland Court as a victim of domestic violence I have been let down over and over again. People wonder why woman and children are killed and the simple fact is after police do all the ground work and give no bail perpetrators are let back out again because of magistrates. They give community corrections sentences and then AVOs are breached and they don't even know where to find him because community corrections do nothing! It all comes down to the magistrates.

all I have to say is that I grew up thinking and respecting the law in this country...until I have been thought a living he'll and I hate to no the money I have spent just to keep my self out of jail I have only minor traffic offence and the charges against me are false and the person who made them wants to withdraw it cart... I thought in this country it is innocent until proven guilty not guilty until proven innocent...and its 100% the government's fault not those who were the uniform

Sutherland court is basically a kangaroo court & the only way to win a case is in the Appeal Court. I've had some extremely good lawyers over the years & I was told by one after about two minutes in court he said that he was wasting his time being there because the outcome was already decided so he basically withdrew from the case & let them do what was obvious from the start then he just knocked it over in the Appeals Court.

The Ceo or the head Manager of the Court has zero respect for anyone from the Public, after around 7 members of a common law group were trying to serve legal documents over the counter back in late April, without success, She deserves the death penalty when Nuremberg 2 comes to Australia!!!!

I’m with Tammy. DV victims let down, made a joke of. Perp with LONG PROVEN history let off with a ridiculous story. Cos even though he’d done it 100 times this time might be different! Stop asking why so many people are killed by DV the courts know why.
