Fantastic park that i've been to countless times. Living literally right across the road from this park, I come here regularly for occasional walks, jogs, biking, or even skating. It looks a lot larger than it seems and has lots to offer. There is also a large enclosed dog area for anybody to enjoy and stroll around. There is also a park in development i think, but right now it's literally just a swing in a moderately sized sandpit, next to a basketball ring. There are also many geese that reside in this park, and they aren't the friendliest, but they aren't hostile either. They seem to be fine with people being nearby as long as they aren't bothered. If you walk further down the path, you can find yourself at the coast which is a common place for fishermen. There is also a beach and lots of comfortable walking space with a nice outlook across the ocean. You can also get a good look at planes taking off or landing and i think it is as close as you can get to it. Absolutely wonderful park

This is a really great park, and has something for everyone. The walk around the ponds is fantastic, seeing an array of wildlife was a highlight (geese, ducks, swans, pukekos). There is sufficient natural shade around the ponds and plenty of seating. It’s very spacious. The children’s playground has been updated and includes a flying fox now. The dog park is also a decent size, and well shaded, better than anything elsewhere in bayside that I’ve seen. I liked watching the planes and helicopters overhead, they are obvious and make noise - which I don’t mind, but some might. Footpaths should be wider to make them more accessible for all. The children’s playground is not sufficiently shaded either, which is why I’ve rated 4 stars

Big park. Many walking alternatives around the park. Great to walk the dogs. Has an off leash area for the dogs. Our dogs love the park. Lots of doggie bags around the park and they are compostable. Also there is an amazing spot to watch planes to land and take off. Love how the Bush rejuvenation is going noticing native wildlife increasing, even snakes in some parts of the park (yes venomous but important for biodiversity within an ecosystem) hope the small native birds will be noticeable soon. Have fantastic bbq facilities spread out throughout the park and if you have small kids there is a great bbq spot within the kids play area which is very popular in summer on weekends.

Large park with pond, ducks and swans. Large enough to have a picnic or go for a run. Plenty of room to spread out. Good for having a kids outdoor party with the undercover dining areas with BBQs, large kids playground or using the footy field. Butts up against a golf course and a foot bridge to the foreshore where you can watch the planes on the runway.
Playground
Extensive kids playgrounds with more extensions on the way. Cool giant animal structures made out of plants for kids to admire
Restrooms

A few covered dining areas with barbecues

Family and dog friendly park. The park is spacious, you can spend over an hour walking the paths, with new tracks through parts of the park, and is a great, scenic local spot to get some exercise in. The facilities are well maintained with new children's play areas recently added and a bridge and adjoining paths replaced.
Playground
Recently renovated and expanded children's playground.

There are lots of geese that have a home in this area furthermore, plus they aren't the friendliest, however they aren't hostile often. They appear to be fine with individuals being nearby so long as they aren't bothered. In the event that you go walking further more down the road, you'll find yourself with the coast that is commonplace for anglers. Gleam plenty and seaside of cozy going for walks area with a good perspective over the sea. You can even get yourself a good take a look at planes removing or landing and I believe it really is as close as you may get to it.

Such a local gem, this park kept us sane during lockdown. The park has a couple of great spots for kids, a small watering hole with lots of native birds, turtles, fish etc. There has been some black swans have signets in recent years which was well managed by the rangers who put up temporary fencing and hay for them to nest in. Some more developments planned for another kids park. A fenced off leash dog area, basketball hoop and a running green all in a short distance from each other. Parking, water stations and dog bags all included!

  • Rei S

What a great park for family! A huge space has a lot of playground equipment and entertaining facilities such as sandpits, flying fox, cycling road, big slide, monkey bars, trampolines, swings, BBQ space and so much more. Easily could spend a few hours to a whole day! +) brand new beautiful and well designed equipment. Has a nature around. -) the active kids can possibly get lost because of huse space, the pond can be dangerous for little active one, toilet is too far from top playground and so dirty, no cafe around.

  • Kieran Hollywood

Huge park named after the famous English botanist. The Banks park has a long walking track that is good for a run, walk or bike. The Botany Bay Gift running race recently returned to the oval behind the historic Sir Joseph Banks Hotel. A nice kids park with a little road with traffic lights. Feed the ducks in the ponds. Lookouts where you can watch planes takeoff & land & there's a bridge across to the boat ramp.

  • A T

Great space with something for everyone. Wide paths, plentiful space, BBQ area, birds in the lakes, small MTB area for young children, off-leash dog park. Very expansive so great if you like to avoid the crowds. Parking is good and offered at different entrances to the park. Some wonderful tall trees provide shady areas but take a hat and sunscreen for areas without cover

Truly a great park for all ages. We went public holiday and the parking was difficult. But loads of smiling kids and adults proved to me the park to be a wonderful experience for all ages. Climbing flying fox and all the other normal equipment. BONUS I found the space easy to control/ watch multiple children.

  • John Nikolaou

Good place, lots off activities for the children but it does lack a baby change table in the toilets & parking on the weekends is difficult

Great quite place FOR a BBQ, to take the kids, feed the ducks, which your not supposed to do.. A zilion years ago, used to be a zoo. Nice long and safe walking tracks, running, off leash dog park, all so close to the Airport, and piecful, regardless of the planes. Plus it's just different.. Kewl park..

  • Nathan Lowery

A great park with plenty of paths to walk, run or ride along. A great area at the south east end with play equipment, a bike track for the kids and bbq facilities. Council has just built a new play area here and is in the process of upgrading the existing play area (to be finished in spring)

One of the best parks in Sydney love the new updates! So beautiful and great for families with kids of all ages. Can feed the ducks , have a play at the park then walk across the bridge to the lookout and watch the planes taking off. Best day out. Worth the trip.

  • Parks and Adventures of Sydney

Such a great park for exploring. So much to do. New adventure playground is great! Love the duck pond and geese. Toilets and bbqs. The animal sculptures are fun too. Kids love to ride their bikes and scooters. See parksandadventuresofsydney on Instagram for more.

  • Vanessa Brajkovic

Always a favourite with the kids. Great BBQ space, a wonderful playground, and we can't forget to mention the fish, and of course the geese and other feathered friends, truly a variety of things to see and do at Sir Joseph Banks Park ! Something for everyone!!

  • Katie Mo

Such a great space and the playground is great EXCEPT that it’s almost completely unusable because there is zero shade so the equipment will burn your kids’ skin off. What a shame. No idea why councils create these spaces and don’t shade them adequately.

  • Albert Tedjadiputra

A beautiful park in the eastern suburbs that has multiple large children's playground areas, BBQ covered with facilities are available for families to enjoy in various places. Parking can be very challenging during the afternoon busy period at weekends.

  • Eric Zheng

Sir Joseph Banks Park has a few ponds with a lot of walking trails. The bridge will take you across the road to Port Botany, where you will see a lot of machinery. It is the perfect place for cycling and exercise and is recommended for those reasons.

  • clayton fox

Awesome park, multiple entrances, and car parks. Dedicated dog park, although make sure you keep watch of your dogs when larger dogs are about.

Family favourite as "Animal Park" as we used to call it, when my 2 boys were younger. Now have taken our grandson for his first time. He loved it. Initially only played in the revamped playground, but will take him to the other aspects.

  • SydneyGR

The interesting part of the park is the big animal statues and the 3 big elephants. It’s a pretty long park with a kids play ground area next to a open golf course. In the middle a single basketball hoop and 2 swings and a dog park.
