I had to rush my female Bearded dragon to the new SASH - Small Animal Specialist Hospital in prospect late Saturday night as an emergency. She was extremely unwell. When they had got her all settled I was called in to the consult room by the vet to discuss some things regarding peanut during this time a nurse had come in and the vet had to rush out. Peanut had declined and had taken a turn for the worst. They managed to bring her back and that’s when her long fight had begun! I was able to bring her home after peanut spending days in the ICU. I brought her home on Monday night 26/9/22. Since then I have been giving her around the clock care and heaps of love! although she is still very critical and can still go both ways (improve or decline) She has made progress!! She has some neurological problems still and is to weak to eat and drink on her own. ( I do everything for her) However a few hours ago she has seemed to improve with some of her symptoms although they are still severe. She can now drink pretty much on her own with a small amount of guidance from me, she constantly wants to be held and cuddled by me and she is now trying to run away when it’s medicine time! Which is all great signs!! She happy, content and comfortable and that is the most important things. Although it will be a very long road ahead as long as she is happy, content and not in a long distress I will continue to give her the constant care she needs and deserves as she has fought so incredibly hard to stay on this earth. She even gave some of the nurses and vets heaps and they found it hard to feed her as she is only comfortable and trusting of me Peanut would not of been here today without the amazing team at SASH and all of the love, attention and how much they cared for her during her stay! I cannot thank them enough for all their time and effort they have put in!! I highly 10/10 recommend this vet they go wayyy above and beyond my little one would not of been here without them!!

I have been going around in circles for two blooming days now. SASH prospect has been the vet I've consistently been referred to for small "exotic" pets. However they DO NOT deal with EXOTICS and will refer you an hour away to North Ryde Sash. Which is a HUGE inconvenience! They can't even ultrasound a pregnant rabbit!!!! Why Are these vets allowed to not have a specialist for every animal at a "small animal hospital?! There are a dozen vets for cats and dogs in Western Sydney do we really need another just for that ?! We have no one in the area who specialise with rabbits I am beyond annoyed. Sash do not advertise on their websites which stores DO NOT DEAL WITH EXOTICS, so here I have every other vet in Western Sydney referring me to prospect who don't do what I need them to do! Your Marketing team need to pick their game up! Misleading and making mothers with 3 children, ages 2,3 and 4 travel, had I known getting care for a small EXOTIC animal would be so hard I probably would have reconsidered as a pet for my children.. If your going to open a SMALL ANIMAL hospital makes sure you can help ALL SMALL ANIMALS NOT JUST SMALL DOGS AND CATS WE GOT ENOUGH VETS FOR THOSE OUT HERE!!! Get some trained professionals in there for everyone's sake in Western Sydney! What a joke!! Emergency 24-hour but will be sent to North Ryde from lower blue mountains for a pregnancy scan! Too bad if I do have an emergency at all hours!! Thanks for your help hey maybe change your slogan for this store - "the small animal specialists" to dog and cats only as advised by your North Ryde branch that's what small animals mean in prospect..

I am so hurt and broken. I brought in an injured Corella bird to this vet today only because Canley Heights Vet (AN AMAZING VET CLINIC) was unfortunately closed. The vet who collected the bird from me started with, "this is a Corella. They are ferocious. I once saw one of these pick a bird up and throw it". In which i replied, "Well this one is quite friendly, took a piece of cucumber from my hand and i was able to pet him". She said, "ok, thanks for bringing in. Bye". I then said, "hold on, what happens here? I'm happy to pay for his treatment" as it was clear as day that he was otherwise fine, eating drinking, climbing up things to get some sun. I had even offered to show her a video of the bird but she didn't want to see. Which she replied with, "no, you can't. He is wildlife and WIRES will look after him. Thanks, bye". Apart from her being so rude, i walked away feeling so uneasy and telling my husband she's going to kill that bird without even looking to see if he has any chance. Unfortunately, I was right. I called the clinic later to check on him and they told me that he had a broken right wing (it was his left wing that was injured) and that he wasn't responding to them so they put him down. I am so devastated and appalled with myself that i didn't wait until tomorrow for Canley Heights vet to be open but thought if i shared my experience here at least it could save any other beautiful wildlife being so horribly disregarded. Please don't be a vet if you don't have love or compassion for all animals, not just the ones you believe deserve treatment.

Rang this business to ensure that my dog could be seen as she had blood in her urine. I drive from the mid Blue Mountains and arrived just after 8 am on Sunday morning. She was seen by a veterinary nurse I presume to triage and then we waited our way through several emergencies. Fair enough I thought. Finally it was our turn. Saw a vet who did a preliminary palpate, take case history, basic obs., and then quoted $2200-2800 based on blood panel, urine test etc. I agreed to this and was told the initial results would take 1 hour. Pricey but we were being seen and the dog needed attention. I went outside to call the family and was approached by one of 3 receptionists who told me that they wouldn’t be able to begin her tests until midday when another vet arrived. Given that I’d been on the road since 7 am I thought this was a bridge too far as I was exhausted and their modus operandi is to push back non urgent patients indefinitely it seems depending on their guesstimate of triage, a probable diagnosis, and patience of the animal owner. I’d had enough so asked for the bill so far so I could take the dog to another out of hours practice. They had the decency not to bill me and I took the dog to Leura after hours vet who diagnosed the issue and charged $800. My advice would be don’t present there unless your animal is in extremis and you have deep pockets and infinite patience and nothing else to do for a day and no other commitments. Yeah who had that kind of life!? Avoid this business at all costs.

I had an emergency dash to this vet with our dog bitten by a snake, unfortunately our amazing local vet was closed and I ended up at sash. At initial consultation I was told the cost could be up to $5000, I remember gasping and saying your kidding aren’t you ? (my reaction possibly on camera) previous snake bite treatment cost me $2100 with 2 anti venom shots at my local vet. Sash vet said hopefully wouldn’t be around $5000 worst case scenario, ok I say and was asked to leave a $5000 deposit which again I gasped at, receptionist said something about paying balance on pick up and I said shouldn’t that be a refund? I received a phone call about an hour and a half later saying that my dog needed another anti venom injection and cost would now be around $6000… we’ve come this far, said yes after discussion with vet and phone call to my partner, he was horrified at cost but said ok. Thankfully our girl pulled through but the big slap in the face came when we picked her up. In total we had bill of $8749.88. We’re still reeling and just don’t understand how this corporation can charge such unethical and exorbitant amounts. All in the name of pet care !! We all love our animals and only want to do the right thing by them and not have them suffer, sadly some people going here wouldn’t have any other option other than letting their loved animal go due to the unbelievably excessive treatment costs that are being charged. In an emergency avoid this place if you can, we certainly will in future.

My dog was booked in for a c-section at 9am the next morning at our local vet. The previous night i felt like my pug had gone into labour so i rushed to sash hoping they would perform an emergency c-section (she is a pug). I called them and they told me you could bring her in for a check up free of charge. I brang her in at 12am and they performed an ultrasound, they told me my dog was not in labour and i can take her home they also said she wouldnt be ready for a c-section at 9am at my local vet. Upon leaving they charged me $500. I didnt have an issue so i paid even though they said it was free of charge. I woke up at 4:30am to find my dog give birth to a pup who lied lifeless on the floor. I rushed over to sash straight away, they told me she needs an emergency c-section and it would cost $8k despite leaving there 3.5 hours prior saying she would not go into labour… i was willing to pay the $8k until they said they cannot perform the c-section until 8am, which would be 3 hours later. Their excuse was the surgeon has to come in, consult her, set up.. silly as my c-section was booked 1 hour later at my local vet so i wouldnt really call that an emergency c-section as they wernt treating it as an emergency. I took my pup home and awaited the vet appointment from there all went well. Money hungry vet with false information..

Over the Easter weekend, our dog took ill and we quickly learned that no vet near us was open for Easter. I could talk at length about how ridiculous and dangerous it is for all vets to just down tools and say, "See you in four days time..." (animals, apparently, aren't supposed to get sick at Easter), but let's park that and instead talk about SASH at Prospect, where we travelled to for some help. This is a fabulous facility. Designed really well; someone thought about this in advance. Tons and tons of parking, super modern inside (I believe it's relatively new), great staff, A1 facilities. It's about twice as big and MUCH nicer than any (human) medical centre I've been in over the past 20 years or so. Of course, for a 24hr facility that's this good and really pleasant to visit, you will obviously pay a bit more than at your local vet. However, presuming you have pet insurance, that shouldn't be too much of a concern. Besides, at the end of the day, we'd do anything for these little critters, wouldn't we? So hats off to the team at SASH Prospect, from reception, to the nurses, to the vets themselves. I was there for a few hours and couldn't think of a nicer place to have been for it. And, if you're wondering, our boy came out fine. The peace of mind this visit gave us in the meantime was invaluable.

We should really sue this place. We took our cat there (after our amazing vet at memorial ave referred us in the case that our cats condition did not improve). Our cat was limp, couldn’t walk or move too much at all but x rays at memorial ave and other tests revealed no signs of organ or bone damage and it was most likely toxin related. After an hour or so we ended up taking him to this place where they said it would cost $5000 for a scan (which we did not go ahead with because we already had an X-ray and could not afford) then they said it would be multiple surgeries that would total 30-50 THOUSAND dollars and told us that we should euthanise because its critical and he has severe spinal damage??? He was not meowing in pain and had NO signs of traumatic injury AT ALL. No blood or cuts and grazes or anything. They didn’t even do any sort of scans to come to the conclusion they came to lol. We took him home (which they were actively against and made us sign a waiver to say they had told us euthanasia was the best option), fast forward 2 days later and our cat is now walking again. We could have had him put down because of the poor advice and neglectful service of this place! Absolutely shocking, money hungry and a lack of care for the animals. Go any place BUT here.

SASH is an incredibly disappointing veterinary facility. I have serious concerns about entrusting any animal to their care. Yesterday, at 1pm, two perfectly healthy kittens were brought to them. These kittens were friendly, allowing light petting and handling. The rescuer was informed that the facility would conduct examinations, wait for results, and closely monitor their condition. However, when I contacted her and offered to provide foster care for them at 10pm, she called them and discovered that they had already been euthanized upon arrival. I am appalled by the laziness exhibited by this veterinary facility. They made the decision to euthanize these innocent animals without even giving them a chance. This act of cruelty is beyond comprehension. Even animal shelters would not resort to euthanizing strays so hastily. It is truly disheartening to witness such a poor excuse for a veterinary facility. Shame on you! These kittens deserved better treatment, and it is evident that this facility lacks the dedication and compassion required of true veterinary professionals. Their actions only serve to confirm their disdain for animals. I’ve added pictures of the kittens murdered by SASH, they were individuals with a full life ahead of them!

Extremely disappointed with the service at SASH. I took my sick dog there on Thursday 9.3.23 at 10pm. I was seen by a Female Vet. She told me that SASH was for emergency only and that I need to take my dog to see his normal Vet. The Vet at SASH didn’t complete any blood test or X-rays Even though we told her he was yelping when he walked. She did prescribed him with Panadol for his fever. I said is it normal for a dog to drool if there is no food around. She asked if my dog normal drooled. I said no. The female Vet said it could be a sign of pain. So a sign of pain but did no further investigation to see where the pain was coming from. My dog DIED 12 HOURS AFTER LEAVING SASH but he did have Panadol. I did call and left a message with the Manager the next day. As my dog died within 12 hours of leaving SASH. I was told by the manger of SASH that my dog could have died from a snake bite or spider bite well if that is the case why didn't the Female Vet treat my dog for a snake bite or spider bite. I will never recommend SASH to anyone and I will never take any of my animals to SASH ever again. I believe the Female Vet was negligent and did not complete a thorough examination.

ABSOLUTELY appalling. Not only does this store have extremely unprofessional staff, they are also simply money-thirsty! This store has 5-star reviews, so I'm sure they have some lovely staff that have clearly made their customers happy - and that is great. However, that does not deduct from the experience I had with this staff. In an attempt of guilt-tripping me, the vet cried in front of me when I asked him to euthanise my poor pup - how dare you work in a place where the utmost professionalism is a necessity! I will not release the name of the vet, but I hope this review conveys the necessity of the staff at SASH Prospect to THOROUGHLY and PROPERLY train ALL their staff on professionalism. Also, this place is absurdly overpriced, and clearly does not care for the welfare of their customers or the animals that unfortunately fall under the care of these unprofessional staff. To SASH, I hope you all review how you interact with your customers, and take this as a serious example of how your disgusting approach at handling such an already-fragile situation all the more painful.

If I could give this "clinic" minus stars I would. Do not take your animal here unless you want to be repeatedly harassed for exorbitant amounts of money by completely uncompassionate vets with zero care for your animal. I had two lovely vets who took their time and were very kind in going through my pet's care and treatment. This was completely negated by an absolutely disgusting woman in "internal medicine" who simply should not be allowed to talk to clients. Repeatedly rang me, even after I not only hung up on her, but told their reception I did not want this woman calling me or treating my animal. Calls me YET AGAIN, talking with as much compassion as getting my car looked at, to the tune of 10-12k no less, not taking care and treating my very sick dog, then has the audacity to try and guilt me. My biggest regret is taking him to this feral place who care more about extorting the most money out of you, rather than actually treating your animal. Perhaps my very much loved pet would be here today had I taken him ANYWHERE but here.

To say that we would recommend SASH is an understatement. 4 months ago our entire world stopped, everything changed and we were uncertain as to if our life would ever be the same again. You see our kid's have 4 paws. Holly and Ivy are our world and absolutely everything to us. Holly was diagnosed with High grade mast cell Tumour in her front right paw pad. The diagnosis and predicted outcome wasn't great and there wasn't much hope. We refused to accept the fact that Holly may not be here for Christmas. Nobody was going to tell me that Holly was going to die at just 10 years of age. Holly underwent 4 months of Chemotherapy at SASH, Chemotherapy at home & other medications. Today Holly GRADUATED Chemotherapy!! The cancer is completely gone and she is in remission. We can't thank the Oncology team at SASH Prospect enough. You have given us our little girl back & Ivy her big sister. Thanks again!! SASH prospect. You are worth every single cent and much more. We are forever greatful, Cass, Andrew, Holly & Ivy

We turned up late at night as a non-emergency patient but an issue that needed to be assessed fairly quickly, other vets had 2 weeks waiting times which made SASH the best option given the overall situation. $300 consult, $250 blood work which seemed reasonable since we literally turned up in the middle of the night and could get results within a matter of hours. Medication was $170 which I noticed was at Petbarn for $70 which is annoying since it wasn't required ASAP, understand paying a bit more at a vet but this item cost is extortionate. We've been to similar emergency vets and had unpleasant experiences making you sign contracts committing you to $xxxx+ costs and providing shocking service, thankfully this wasn't the experience we had at SASH and we will return if required (hopefully not!). The wait time was a lot longer than expected but understand that is part of triage and it's a good thing to not be the priority... Staff & facilities were great.

I took my 7 year old Labrador to SASH after he got a stick stuck in his mouth. I called first and received some great and friendly advice. On arrival I was greeted and supported, before quickly seeing the triage nurse (within 5 minutes). Wait time to see a vet was about an hour or so which wasn’t too bad as this couldn’t be avoided- animals are triaged and seen by a vet based on presenting issues. The waiting room is comfortable, has divided areas which is perfect for reactive animals, grassed area with poop bags out the front, access to water for the animals, free tea/coffee for humans and phone charging stations. The nurse and vet we saw were very kind, gentle and knowledgeable. We successfully were able to have the stick removed without complications and without too much stress to our doggy. We were given what we feel was appropriate post procedure education and recovery plan. We are very happy and extremely thankful for the care provided to our boy.

My British Bulldog Frankie is currently an inpatient @ SASH after undergoing emergency surgery. This is our first visit to SASH after being recommended to attend by our local vet who did not have the needed facilities to diagnose the problem. Unfortunately we were flying interstate the morning our beautiful boy Frankie arrived there so have not been able to attend in person however, we have received multiple updates daily by phone. Dr Karyn & Dr Jack have taken the time to provide me with very detailed & thorough updates which have been really helpful in alleviating a lot of concern and worry. I am confident Frankie has received exceptional care & would like to extend my gratitude to Karyn, Jack & their team for caring for him. I would have no hesitation in recommending SASH & would happily return for further treatment if ever required. Thank you team SASH. Rhondele

Please DO NOT take your pets anywhere near this place. My cat was not given a thorough physical examination. The vet didn't have a clue what may have been wrong with Ruby. And also the operations manager is very hard to communicate she often does not reply to emails and when she does she can be condescending and passive aggressive. I have put my complaint into fair trading. How do you get in touch with Justin Wimpole or someone higher. How unprofessional of sash to terminate phone calls that's disgusting behaviour absolutely unprofessional I can't believe an organisation like this would treat paying customers like this I'm appalled. And to anybody out there I wouldn't even bother going through fair trading they are useless and SASH will encourage you to go through them because they know they can't enforce anything your wasting your time just Don't go to SASH

  • Rae Waterhouse

PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS OF THIS VET HOSPITAL. They seem to care more about CHARGING YOU than helping you with your pets. My BIGGEST MISTAKE was not taking my dog OUT OF THERE and getting a SECOND OPINION. They charge EXORBITANT FEES. We made the decision to put our dog down as we could afford the $20 treatment they suggested. (This is where should have walked out of the vet hospital to get a second opinion) But don't stress if you have a gorgeous pedigree dog and can't pay the fees, they will happily suggest you surrender your dog and they will treat your dog free of charge and rehome him if he survives the treatment. After regretting my decision, I tried to discuss the matter with management and head office but no one would speak to me, obviously this is standard practice for this vet hospital. Look at the previous reviews to see I'm right.

If it weren’t for the amazing staff at SASH Prospect, we would have lost our little Max over the weekend. Thanks to them getting him into the oxygen cage so quickly after we arrived, he was able to stabilise and come home the next morning. I wish I could remember the name of the vet that came to talk to us and was caring for Max, as she was truly amazing. She was so sweet, compassionate and provided Max with great care. I also found the main waiting room area to be very comfortable and well planned out. There were many booths and areas where people were able to have some privacy during very difficult moments. They had a coffee machine, tea, vending machines and bathrooms accessible. While it did cost a lot of money for Max to stay overnight, the care he received saved his life and that’s worth every cent. Thank you!

  • Shaun Rogers

My rating is based on the cost, we had our dog Sheeba, due to us with little financial we had we could cover the cost of $299 and the only financial help to offer is Zippay or vet pay not much of away of giving an option for those who need help for the love one. As many have said before us it is a little over price and waiting time of know what is happening to your babies is the question on most of people’s minds 1.Could be better in payments more options. 2. Tell people before there pets are taken they may what to remove all personal effects from the love one. 3. Do tell customers if the coffee and tea is they for their convenience while they wait. First time for our pet hope it the last time we see SASH over price and not explain why is this. Only “we are a 24/7 vet hospital” not good enough.

  • Bridgette Kamboj

The staff and Veterinarians here are absolutely AMAZING!!!... (if you read my review on Woodstock Vet Clinic, I made reference to price, we didn't have insurance...) My suggestion to any animal owner is GET PET INSURANCE!!! The level of care given to our Puppy (who has, managed to ingest not only, a human antidepressant with only one other recorded case but then 8 days later, the pods from the Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow plant...) Total 2 bills for EXTREMELY HIGH QUALITY Care totally apprx $15,000 ... I want to make it clear, this is no reflection on SASH and the care given.. The staff were indescribably wonderful and tried in every way to keep the cost down while still providing the best possible care to our incredibly silly but sweet pup.. Thank you so very much SASH

  • Taylah Arnold

We brought our little girl Tiffany in for a laceration on her front leg. Alice Tsai was the vet who looked after us who showed complete compassion, patience, sympathy, and true educational recommendations. Alice helped guide us in making the correct decisions for our girl by giving us ample education and advice. Alice was patient with Tiffany and sat on the floor with her to show her that everything was okay rather than jumping straight into the consultation. Inside was spotless and didn’t have the typical wet dog smell, it was very clean and smelt fresh. I’ll definitely be recommending Sash and Alice to other people and people that I know who have pets as they put pets first and their families. Alice is a great vet, in which you don’t come across often.

  • Shania Smith

The team at SASH Western Sydney were exceptionally kind and patient when we took our sweet girl Shay there a couple weeks back. They gave her more relief and comfort than we could have done at home during her last few hours, and when it was time for her to go see her big sisters and mum, they were very patient and compassionate with us and let us stay with her as we needed. We miss her terribly and they made the circumstances easier for us to handle. The team at SASH were very sweet and gave us her paw prints and a beautiful candle with her name and sweet cards to help us remember her by. We couldn’t thank you more than enough for what you did for us, and both our family, and I’m sure our sweet Shay too, couldn’t thank you enough for what you did!

  • Jessica Watts

Would just like to thank the team at Prospect SASH. Rang them late at night with concerns for our young lab who was in distress, it was no problem to have us bring him in and be assessed. Yes there are fees that are higher than our regular vet clinic during business hours, however we were very clearly advised of these prior to arrival and it is a 24hr emergent specialist service. All treatment avenues were discussed and potential costs laid out clearly before anything was done and our lab was very well looked after. The vet and all staff were kind but also realistic. Would 100% go to the team at SASH again with either of our dogs if they should need emergency care (hope they don’t of course!) as I know they will be well looked after. Thanks again!

  • C B

I would definitely question this vet when you ring quite throughly. They tell a teenager on the phone it’s ok the consultation is free. You get there with the animal and they then say oh that’s just with the nurse if you even want to talk the vet it is $300, that’s after they have already sent you into the vet and it’s only if you read what they give you to sign. Once you are there with an upset child you’re stuck. Of course they should charge a consult fee but 10 min with vet $300 then to be told can’t save the animal. Another$250. $550 for a budgie to be looked at for 10 mins and then put to sleep. Traumatic enough for the child but also money grabbing. Not questioning their skills and qualifications just their morals and ethics.

  • sarah abbot

if I could give 0 stars I would. Staff were in general really helpful and kind however I took my dog in as I was referred by my regular vet to get a CT scan. I was gobsmacked when the specialist told me it would cost upwards of 5-6k for the procedure and interpretation of results. It is such a shame that this vet hospital that claims to want to help families wanting to do their best for their pets, will rip people off on the hopes that people are desperate enough to pay their prices. Not to mention their consultation prices are through the roof for a 5 minute conversation with the vet. Went to an alternative vet and was charged $1500 for a consultation, blood work, whole body CT and chest X ray. Don’t waste your time.

  • Lee Maynard

My son took our beautiful Kelpy to you guys after being referred to you , after she had been bitten by a black snake. You quoted him 5 -10,000 Dollars for the Anti Venom and overnight stay which is utterley Ridiculous. He advised he could not afford that and said he would take her somewhere else and as he was leaving you played the guilt card on him also which is just dispicable. She has now been taken care of by another Vet clinic and is on the mend no thanks to your establishment, at 10% of the cost you quoted. How many people have you gouged enormous amounts of money from by conning and Guilting them into having their beloved pets be treated at your clinic. you should be utterly ashamed of how you run your clinic.

I am so thankful for SASH. My dog had a terrible case of acute pancreatitis and gastroenteritis, ended up in Doggy ICU, and was monitored and cared for exceptionally. She is recovering, and I'm glad I took her here. They are expensive and do require a 30% deposit before they start treatment, but when you love your pet, you'll do anything. I was more than happy to pay because she got to come home. Sash has clean facilities, lovely vet nurses, and doctors. No one talks down to you or makes you feel lesser. It's refreshing, especially since they seem to care for your pet as much as you do. While I hope I never have to take my dog back for such a scary thing, I can't fault them and their work. 5/5.

  • Ryan K

0 STARS Waited 2 hrs for my dog to be seen and my dog was bleeding heavily they only had 1 vet on duty but told me I would be seen soon after I asked 6 times. Left after 2 hrs of sitting and waiting watching my dog bleeding everywhere. Went to another vet and was treated instantly at a fraction of the cost of sash Staff seemed to busy chatting and laughing with each other instead of caring for your pet. Do not take your pet here unless u want to get ripped off. The prices they charge are astronomical compared to other vet hospitals to give u a idea sash consultation fee is $300 for a 5 mins consultation. Just because u see sash on tv doesn't mean they are good as I learnt the hard way.

Dr Karyn Wesselingh and the team at SASH were amazing. After rushing my 15 year old Maltese Shih Tzu Lucy into emergency she was taken straight in and looked after. The team spoke to me about what my options were. Dr Karyn always kept in contact and updated me on Lucy’s condition along the way. Unfortunately I had to make the heartbreaking decision to put her to rest as it was likely she wasn’t going to make it through the night. Dr Karyn called me the next morning. She was so caring, understanding and supportive. She reassured me I had made the right decision for Lucy. I will always remember the support I received at such a terrible time in my life. Thank you.

  • rhonda bartrim

Sash prospect is a very overpriced and non compassionate after hours vetinary/hospital as I was quoted 8500 to help get my cat back to optimal health after a dog attack. Not to mention they did not give any information as to what they thought was wrong and made me wait 3hrs before making us make the final decision to euthanise as we couldn't afford the bill and the receptionist was very rude and payment options really need to be reconsidered as people in financial hardship canont be expected to pay 50% of said bill straight up then and there. Would not recommend sash unless you have deep pockets and enough time to waste waiting for emergency care

Thank you SASH for helping our family dog Husky - who we brought into emergency after he was unfortunately found with the mysterious inability to close his jaw. How lucky we are to have access to CT imaging at SASH - which was vital in identifying Husky's thankfully fixable issue (much to our relief his jaw was fine - it was his teeth)! Special mention to Dr Andrew Marchevsky who attended to Husky's life saving procedure - he was also professional, compassionate and caring at all times. Husky is now on the mend enjoying life again - eating, sleeping and chasing cats. Our family is forever thankful for the care Husky received. ❤️

Amazing service. Called ahead and was told come straight in for our dogs issue. Was seen straight away. Great services from the lovely ladies at the front desk to the emergency nurse and finally the vet. Besides the service they have set up the waiting room well with seating areas setup as nooks for animals that perhaps don’t do well with other animals. Also you have coffee machines if you need to wait. It’s not cheap but for an emergency service they are reasonable considering they are open 24/7 and have all services available. They also sent all consult information and medication given to our regular local vet.

I brought a Willie Wagtail in, got attacked by a cat, on his/her left wing. I tend to his/her wound. And then decided to bring the bird to hospital, hoping that he/ she will receive a better care. On my way to the hospital, he/she was jump around in the car, was still alive. Got him/her to the hospital, was still alive, was in my palm the whole time. I left him/ her there, supposedly will receive a better care. 3 hours, I called back to check on the bird. It was then I was told it was dead. I don’t know what the hell did these people do. I shouldn’t brought the bird in there in the first place !!!

This is a Thank You Post Would like to thank all staffs , nurses and vets at SASH.. We went in with our dog suffering with pyometra and needing urgent surgery. And the way SASH handled everything was beyond 5 star.. They were friendly and comforting and helped us throughout the process. We understand the fees & charges are premium however, the service and value they provide are beyond the fees and charges. 5 star service 5 star staff and you exactly get what you pay for. They are like the Rolex of Vets . Its expensive but worth every single dollar. Would not go anywhere else.

  • Peter Howie (Surveyor)

Really caring and professional. My beautiful 12yo Groodle suddenly lost movement in her rear legs due to a degenerative back issue, and the nursing staff and vet at SASH guided me through the situation and provided many possible scenarios and options. Their help was invaluable at such a difficult time. It's good to be able to have access to SASH in an emergency. Surprisingly, the cost was not as expensive as I had imagined it would be, so if you need emergency help with your pet, I encourage you to call them without delay. Thank you, SASH! You are my hero's!

  • Kylie Swab

Very clean premise, convenient 24 hr service. plenty of seating, vending machine available, reading material and a coffee machine. Wheel chair accessible toilet and building. Toilets are clean, Reception Staff is friendly and caring. Charging station for your phone. Shelves with curtains to keep your cat feel safe whilst you wait. Very pricey as other reviews have stated. $299 for consult. Itemised invoice sent to your email. Outdoor seating available. Ample car parking. Water for your dog available in waiting area and scales. Biggest downfall is the cost.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can't say enough good things about SASH! From the moment I walked in, I knew my furry family member was in the best hands. The entire staff, from the front desk to the veterinarians and nurses, exuded professionalism and genuine care. The facilities are state-of-the-art, and it's clear they prioritize the well-being of their patients. The cleanliness and organization of the clinic are impressive. I can't thank SASH enough for their outstanding care and would highly recommend them to anyone seeking exceptional veterinary services.

  • Maria Tzirakis

I am appalled by the laziness exhibited by this veterinary facility. They made the decision to euthanize these innocent animals without even giving them a chance. This act of cruelty is beyond comprehension. Even animal shelters would not resort to euthanizing strays so hastily. It is truly disheartening to witness such a poor excuse for a veterinary facility. Shame on you! These kittens deserved better treatment, and it is evident that this facility lacks the dedication and compassion. Don't recommend this place to anyone. Can't be trusted.

  • Tracey Hansell

We brought our cat, Smokey, here on the advice of our local vet with a fractured leg. We were very pleased with the vets and nurses as well as reception staff that were involved in Smokey's care. The facilities are first class, clean and very comfortable. Very expensive but this is to be expected due to the specialist services available at the centre. Thank you to the young lady on reception who offered me a tea / coffee on my arrival each time as the last couple of days has been quite traumatic... so thank you

  • Jennifer Balk

I recently had to rush my mini lop Ralf to SASH after he injured himself on a Saturday evening. The team at SASH were compassionate and kind whilst I made the heartbreaking decision to relieve Ralf of his pain. I was a hysterical mess and Dr Nicola was extremely kind and caring towards us. I even received a card in the post sending the teams condolences. It made such an impact to see that Dr Nicola and the team could see how loved and adored Ralf was. Thank you all for making an awful time a little easier for us.

  • Elinor Kettle

Fantastic, caring, compassionate and above and beyond levels of treatment. I rushed my dog in on a Sunday and was seen quickly, he has ended up staying several days and has been so well cared for - I couldn’t be more grateful. The staff are professional and caring, my boy is quite nervous but they have really taken that on board and listened to my concerns. I have not once felt like they are rushing and they have been extremely kind in letting me have long visits with my boy. Top class care, I highly recommend!

  • Kelley Goldstraw

Took my little dog there to have an operation and I can’t fault them or their service. Beautiful staff on the front reception, and the vets and surgeons are great at going over all the information with you throughout the process. The front waiting area is clean and has great facilities if you need to charge your phone or do some work whilst you are there. Also bathrooms include showers and they have a vending machine on site. Overall, a great experience for a very emotional time for our family.

  • Taylor Vegas

Sadly my doggo got attacked by 3 other dogs and after my vet stitched him up, recommended he stay at SASH for a few nights as his condition wasn’t so good and needed to be looked after at all hours. The whole staff from start to finish were so kind, compassionate and really cared about my furbaby (Twoie) and kept us updated. I would highly recommend SASH to anybody. hopefully I’ll never have to come back here (I mean that in a nice way) but if I do I know my pet/s will be taken care of.

  • Nettie (Nettie)

Staff are lovely but is way too expensive for the average person. Yes its an all night vet, but paying $1000 to bring my pets temperature down without really doing any proper checking as to the cause. Seems pretty high, thankfully my furbaby came good, but had I not taken out a loan to pay there and then, I would have lost him. So yes great place to go if you need it, but be prepared for a hefty fee. I thank them all the same for helping me, at a time when not many other vets are open.

  • kelly ryan

We had struggled to get a diagnosis for our dog - some vets said it was cancer and others said arthritis. I called SASH and explained the situation - they had a specialist review the X-rays and called me back with a suggestion on who she should see. Dr Jack was lovely and very knowledgeable and gave us a confirmed diagnosis and explained it in detail, allowing me to ask lots of questions. The facilities and waiting room are also lovely (at Prospect). I highly recommend SASH

  • John Hanna

A 24hr service that charges ×10 time more than a vet service wow. Had to surrender my dog after getting quoted 7-10k that they weren't too sure of his health issues. Took my parrot yesterday and was quoted $3700 and they told me he was dying! Took him to his regular vet today costed me $102 consultation plus meds and it turned up to be just a bacteria that's gonna go after 3-4 days of using meds. Thankfully his energetic and talking fine! These prices needs to be fixed....

  • Fiona Manwaring

I hope I don't ever need emergency care again, and if I do, my wish is I have the time to travel the 35 odd kms to get from home to Prospect. Thank you so much for your genuine care. ** I sat on the floor with the 3 pupdogs. When Dr Caitlin entered to talk to us, she spoke and interacted with the dogs first, then sat on the floor to talk to me. This is a sign of genuine care that I greatly appreciate.** All 3 dogs were calm which is hard to achieve in a vet clinic. ❤️

  • Leah Mouatt

Couldn’t be happier with the service at SASH with Dr Fearnside and all of the staff I spoke to. Thanks to a diagnosis and surgery that would not have been possible at my regular vet, I’m delighted that Charlie now has the best possible chance of a positive future with his dodgy elbows! It was disappointing to find out my boy had elbow dysplasia, but I’m glad we ended up at SASH. It really is peace of mind to know your pup is getting the best possible care. Thank you :)

  • Kasia Faber

Went yesterday with my dog to see the vet, my dog received basic check vet couldn't tell what's wrong with my dog, send me back home with nothing and I was charged $440 for nothing, waste of my time. Overcharged for consultation by clinician who has no knowledge shame shame. Today went to my local vet she did her best to find out what happening to my dog and she was successful. It was life threatening for my dog . I will never recommend this clinic to anyone shame

  • M Reyes

We came here on a rainy midnight. We were welcomed by a friendly receptionist and attended to right away by the medical staff. As we wait, we get to appreciate their well kept facility, as well. We were anxious for our pet so it helps that the place was really relaxing. Our loved one was well taken cared for and we were grateful we were able to go through the process with him. We thank the staff for their time, effort and the support they extended to us.

  • Athena Athena

This is not hospital, they just want to earn money from you and no real treatment for your dog. They do all of the unnecessary test to charge fees from you, then tell you need spend a few more days to make excuse to keep charge 3000AUD a day from you. This is not too save dog life, they don’t care about life, the sick dog is only for them to make money. No sympathy for dog at all and they use the emotion between pet owner and pet to make money.

  • Terri H

Fantastic care by every single team member. We take our sausage dog Abby there with IVDD, the team are so supportive, and keep us up to date every step of the way. She now goes to hydrotherapy once a week, we would love it if laser therapy was available at Prospect to complete her treatment. Overall we would 100% recommend anyone taking their pet to SASH, they can be a little pricey but having our little one still with us is worth every cent!

  • Melanie W

My hope is to never have to go here again. The vets lack any sense of bedside manner and only care about the money. The vet we dealt with didn't show any compassion to me, my family, or my poor dog. My dog was severely injured and they would not even help me get him out of the car, let alone move quickly. They gave us no real time with him to say goodbye, and when they put him down they rushed us through the process which was heart breaking.

  • Rhianon Beckwith

Do have to say yes very expensive, but the level of care awesome. My daughter accidentally shut the fridge door on her rats head and of course lots of blood. Had to rush out which took us 30mins to get there as most vets don't deal with rats but, as soon as we got there we had a vet nurse come and see us straight away and lucky for us she just had a bleeding nose and the nurse cleaned her up and assured my daughter that she will be ok

  • Mohamed Janabi

Do not bring your pet here. I brought my cat here as he was experiencing health issues. Upon arrival they stated the consultation is $300 with small additional fees regarding treatment and they would tell me before treating my cat. As I was waiting outside the lady comes to me and says they’ve already provided ventilation and other medicines without telling me and tried to rip me off for $3000. They are frauds. Watch out

  • Lauren Dolby

SASH always provides the utmost care to my gorgeous boy, Bear. Everyone is welcoming, kind and compassionate. I have nothing but praise and positive words for all the staff at SASH! We had most of our treatments through Oncology but recently had to visit them through emergency and the care we received was equally as great, thank you everyone for always looking after us, I am forever grateful to the entire team.

  • Amanda pollock

Wonderful from entry to exit. Front desk kindness (my dog is highly anxious and I had her muzzled), everyone showed respect and love. The vet and nurses were amazing. Explaining to me as much detail as possible about what could be the cause of my dogs illness, and explaining costs for surgery with compassion for expense it may cause. Beautiful environment. I felt really comfortable. Thank you to everyone.

  • Fiona Moussa

Huge thankyou to Ashley at SASH, she went above and beyond to help my golden labrador ‘Ivy’ who had spent 2 days previously at another vet an was still ill. She was able to Keep the price in th range that i asked an her consult was so thorough.Ivys care was five star and i recieved a couple of calls in the short time she was there reguarding test results which kept me at ease! Thankyou so Much

  • Natalie Sufong

So grateful to the team at Prospect for saving my dogs life, finding the teether that was stuck in his small intestines and removing it. Every vet took their time to explain everything thoroughly and they where so kind and gentle. Exceptional veterinary care! If ever my dog requires any serious help, I will always come to Sash and recommend others do the same! Thank you

  • samantha Black

Sash saved our little boy after he was attacked by hunting dogs. He is only 5 months old and very dear to our hearts, the team at sash made us feel like they cared about him as much as we do and were very open about everything that was going on and the plan they had for our Ozzy. Very grateful to be able to bring him home and have our family back together again. Can not thank you guys enough.

  • GarrynGirl

Very happy with the level of care for our boy Dash. The level of communication after his surgery was excellent. Dash had a lung tumour removed. Yes it was expensive however, given the nature and complexity of his surgery the end cost was worth it to give our boy the rest of his life. Would I use SASH again? Definitely if my local vet didn't have the facilities to manage a complex procedure.

  • Jennifer Minshall

The girls at the front desk are Diamonds..they helped me feel better about my dog and waiting to be seen..the Vet nurse was lovely and asked me the questions ..Luna-mae had Aaron for her vet..very kind thorough..helped me through helped me understand everything needed.I felt confident and acknowledged...she's recovering well at home. Thank you SASH and staff. Jennifer and Luna-mae

  • Melissa Johnston

100% recommend! I was really happy with SASH. Clean, comfortable, privacy nooks for anxious pets, friendly staff, free tea/coffee while you wait. The little garden out the front was really nice to wait in, as my dog is anxious. Yes, it's expensive but it's an emergency/specialist clinic. It's no more expensive than any other 24hr place I've been to. Thanks for treating my doggy, SASH.

  • Michelle Thomson

Would recommend to everyone! Considering how depressed I was to receive the news I did, Dr Chelsea was amazing and I was confident knowing my pet was in her care. Also, as he’s usually aggressive to strangers and needs to be muzzled, the fact that he came out unmuzzled and happy with the nurses, my heart just melted. Honestly I’m so grateful and appreciative to all the SASH team.

  • Kylie Agius

We had to take our bun Winston there, as our usual vet in North Richmond couldn't take him. Sash was amazing, had an awesome bed some manner, and made us feel like he was in great hands. He saw Dr Caitlin Ticehurst, and she was absolutely incredible. It was our first time dealing with Stasis, and she reassured us and was very informative. The hospital was also fantastic.

  • Erin

Wonderful hospital, great staff and great facilities. Although our fur baby didn’t make it, everyone at the clinic was kind, knowledgeable, empathetic and helpful. The waiting area was lovely and it was great to be able to make a cup of tea. The room prepared for our final goodbye was beautiful and comfortable for humans and their pets. Can’t recommend this place enough.

  • Kristy Gerard

Wanted to say a special thank you to SASH - Small Animal Specialist Hospital at Prospect, what beautiful amazing ladies who looked after me a few weeks ago when my mums dog passed in my arms on the way to SASH. Toby had battled with a stage 4 heart murmur and fluid on his lungs. He was a treasured family member and my mums baby. The SASH staff were beyond amazing.

  • Kimberley Picco

Attended last night with gizmo, our 3 week old rescue foster kitten who was in a very bad way. The team were so compassionate and acted fast. Although they had warned me that there was a very small chance he would pull through - HE DID ! He is now bouncing around like nothing happened today. Thank you so much to the SASH team for saving even the littlest of loves

  • M L

Took our macaw here a couple of weeks ago, she had broken one of her feathers after trying to fly off her cage and was bleeding (previous owners destroyed her wings). The vets and the ladies at reception were really nice, the place was clean and tidy and very spacious. It is a little pricey, but we would do anything to make sure our pets are safe and healthy

  • Sheriden Francis

attended Sash Prospect today for my cat Chase. Very nice atmosphere from the moment you enter to the time you leave. The two young ladies at front desk were very friendly and welcoming. The vet Dr Aaron Koey was thorough during consultation with his diagnosis. his approach towards my sick boy assured me he was in good hands. Thankyou for your kindness

  • Kerry Gardner

We were very impressed with our puppy Cookie’s admission in emergency at Prospect and our experience with the triage nurse, vet and internal medicine specialist there. The care they showed Cookie and the specialist’s thorough investigation into his symptoms were paramount to him being diagnosed and able to come home with the right treatment plan.

  • S Teat

The medical care, and caring from all staff, has been first class. Some may say it's expensive however, it is reflective of the procedures undertaken and all costs are itemised. We have been visiting regularly for ongoing treatment and are so grateful for the care taken with our fur baby and the emotional support provided throughout the journey.

  • Nigel Taylor

We were here for sad circumstances. Our 18 year old cat was attacked by two dogs while relaxing in our backyard. We rushed her to SASH as our local vets were closed due to it being late Saturday evening, The staff were friendly and caring and sadly weren't able to help our cat. They provided us with privacy as our cat passed in comfort of family

  • Amanda Allen

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. With a very stressful time of my puppy needing surgery, I was always kept in the loop with phone calls and updates. Everyone explained everything in detail, and was really helpful and understanding. Their flexibility to allow phone calls at any time was a great peace of mind. Thank you for saving my puppy.

  • Jodie Troy

Sash, the facility was next level. Very clean and new. There were charging stations for your smart devices, free tea , coffee, and water. They triaged my dog right away. However, it took over 45 minutes to hand our dog back when they recommended we go to our regular vet. Price was basically double or triple to any normal vet. $299 consult

  • Tracy Robinson

My fur baby Bella passed away on 3/6/23, we took her to SASH the next day for her final arrangements. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left there was nothing but compassion and understanding. I can not thank the SASH team and Pet Rest enough for helping my husband and me through this difficult journey. I highly recommend SASH

  • Mathew Hofma

Terrible place to take your pets, Over priced, they wanted $4000 to keep our dog overnight that was suffering from heat stroke. We took our dog home after paying 800. Our dog is doing fine now we kept her nice and cool, with a wet towel and tap water, she's drinking again and slowly recovering. Do yourself a favour and save your money.

  • Lauren Austen

I had been worried about my dog for months. I wasn’t getting answers with vets I had been seeing, so on WOM recommendation I decided to come to SASH. The vets at SASH were thorough, professional and gave me the answers I was looking for within hours. Very grateful to receive clarification and a diagnosis for my much loved dog.

  • Moustafa Sadek

Unrealistic prices and take advantage of you in your emotional situation when your pet is ill. You pay a $300 consultation fee then they tell you they need to do $3000-$6000 worth of tests to figure out what’s wrong. Told me my dog was probably going to die and quoted me the above amount. Next day he was better. BE CAREFUL!

  • Sarah Shehadeh

The team at Sash prospect were so nice and patient and caring with for our beautiful dog Kodi. We went in late night to put our dog to rest and we were so anxious, upset and stressed. They accommodated to our every need and we’re considerate and kind. Would recommend this vet and the staff and thank them for being so kind.

  • Krystal S

Thank you for your compassion and kindness throughout my family's ordeal with our ferret Jebus. We couldn't be more touched and greatful for everything you have done for us, including the beautiful hand written card that came with his little paw prints with his ashes. This was absolutely beautiful thank you again. ❤️

  • Caroline Nanales

We went as my furbaby had a bad fall. The moment we called they are very helpful. Reception was nice, the nurse was gentle and caring. The hospital is nice and clean. We were given the choice to go home, stay back or go to our usual vet depending on how we feel. Highly recommended. Thank you for looking our furbaby.❤

  • Pamela Cahill

Thank you for the care and kindness shown to our dog Roxy, in her final hours. We will miss her greatly, but it means so much to us, Roxy was treated by such a dedicated Professional team who made her final journey of 17 years so much easier for her, and us. Rest In Peace our beautiful girl. Thank you SASH Prospect.

  • Lindy Zaw

Took my dog in with suspicion of ingestion of a foreign object Was pushed by the vet to do an ultrasound which was very expensive when other options like X-ray or try to get it out medically would have been cheaper Went here because it was close to home Go to ARH instead the vets are more experienced and cost less

  • Neville davar

The Vet was wonderful and comforting, the setting amazing, the cost and the extra things we were charged for weren't. Question your bill. It's hard at the time because you're distressed , but take the time. The Vet told us no medications were used on our rabbit as it died immediately, yet we were charged for it.

  • Mathew

Took our elderly dog shay to the clinic today as she was struggling to breathe the vet nurses took shay straight into the vet put her in a oxygen cage trying to help her breathe unfortunately not much could be done for her and she was put to sleep i couldn’t of asked for anymore they were absolutely amazing

  • Jenni West

The team at SASH are wonderful. My cat was in dire straits by the time we got SASH involved and I ended up having to let him go but the team did their absolute best to help him pull through and they were extremely empathetic and considerate when the time came to make the heartbreaking decision. Thank you!

  • Sarah Young

We are blown away by SASH. Our dog, Mumble actually enjoys going for his cancer treatments as he gets so many pats and treats! He also keeps being told he's a good boy! SASH gives us regular updates via SMS, phone call and email. Very impressed! We wish every company we had to deal with was like SASH!

  • Luke Watt

Quoted up to 15k to treat my dogs snake bite. Colyton VET did everything including anti-venom for $1900. I understand this is a specialist vet, but them prices are just ridiculous. With that being said, I do not question the staffs friendliness and capabilities to provide emergency care/treatment.

  • Stina Smith

Best service at this hospital. Everyone is friendly and helpful. While none of us like having to use such a service it is good to know they are there and that they truly care. My dog is under the care of their specialist oncologist who is lovely and so helpful. I couldn't ask for better care.

  • kaylee polock

I have been to Sash clinic twice with my puppy and both times I have received really great service from everyone that we came in contact with. The Dr’s and Nurses that saw and treated my puppy both times were so kind and friendly with my puppy, which helps ease my worries when I’m there.

  • ridima gulati

Doctor William is amazing !!! My dog Ladoo got a spine surgery and the whole team at the hospital was very compassionate. Doctor William is the best ! He explained us the whole process and dealt with us with a lot of patience. Our dog is healing very well after the surgery. Touchwood !

  • Selina T

My dog had a seizure and had to be admitted to SASH’s vet hospital. They out my mind at easy by giving me updates and the staff were so wonderful, caring and compassionate. Dr Hoy answered all my questions. And even when i picked up my dog, he was given a cute bag with a self portrait

  • Kylie Gleeson

All the staff were wonderful. I was so grateful to Jack for explaining things to me in everyday language. I didn’t feel rushed at all and he answered all my questions. He was so lovely with my anxious dog and so was the intern vet, sorry I’ve forgotten her name but she was so lovely.

  • Frances Repaci

Dr Karen listened, asked questions and gave a treatment plan for our little dog that we have total confidence with and can now enjoy Xmas. Little Bella was so much better today after seeing Dr Karen. Thank you for the time you took and for your advice regarding future procedures.

  • Ashley Smith

Thank you so much to Dr Pam for helping our boy beast, I have never came across a more experienced vet. Dr Pam provided a procedure just as a great dane was about to crash, 17 hours later he is still going strong (long enough for us to get him in for surgery). Thank you Dr Pam xx

  • Patricia Farrugia

A big thanku to ashley hughes We took our beautiful bella to sash vet they were so caring and guided us through every step they took they did everything for bella unfortunately we had to put her down but sash we do highly recommended them they are a very caring team thanku x

  • Michelle fearlessfalcon

Very appreciative of the kindness and sincererity SASH showed me and my daughter when we put down our beloved cat Rosie. It's never a easy thing to deal with but everyone made it so much better. Thank you for being so accomodating and respectful in our time of need …

  • Julie Williams

My 2 fur babies Bella a cavoodle and Polly a cavalier 100% worth every cent from the expertise and facilities available for the care and diagnostic skills for me I cannot praise this organisation high enough. Thank you for dedicating your life to the care of our animals.
