They treated us miserably and released a GSD into the store, causing him to attack my mom. 1- Arrived 5 minutes prior to closing and staff was very rude, rushing us to get out. Bought a lot of their frozen dog food, and when we left the store, we realized that in a rush to get us out, they made a mistake and overcharged us. 2- I was busy, so my mom went back the next day with the receipt to be refunded, and they refused to refund her without seeing proof of purchase. The receipt was not enough and they asked her to bring back the frozen food, even the opened ones. We don't exactly live close and what HORRIBLE customer service to ask your customer to prove they bought something when they were the ones making a mistake. 3- While checking her computer, the cashier notices a lost German Shepherd outside. She leaves everything she's doing and goes to grab the dog. When bringing the dog back into the store, she RELEASES this unknown dog into the store, and the dog starts charging at my mom's 2 dogs. 4- My mom yells to the cashier to grab the dog, but she ignores her pleas. My mom tries to protect her 2 dogs, especially the small one who is already traumatized of German Shepherds as she was attacked in the past. In all the chaos, the German Shepherd knocks my mom off to the ground. The cashier finally grabs the dog and leads him towards the entrance. 5- Instead of getting this reactive dog far away from everyone, she decides that she was going to release him again. My mom had escaped to a corner of the store, but the dog finds her again and charges at her. Same scenario happens and my mom is screaming on the floor. The cashier grabs the dog again and FINALLY leads him to the back. 6- My mom is bleeding, bruised and can't walk for a few days. She can't even teach piano anymore because she can't move her arms. She can't drive. What did she get from the store? No apology from the cashier, and a $25 gift card from the manager the next day. 7- After sending 2 emails to Ren's that got ignored, I had to make a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, which finally led the President of the company to call me. Wow. She ended up offering us a $100 gift card, which we NEVER even got. Avoid this place at all cost. Avoid Ren's Pets in general at all cost.

I have had a few bad experiences here recently. I was very excited when they opened they seemed really educated and had alot of items but in the last couple months have been very lacking. I went in one time to get a new clipper blade for my grooming clipper and asked a person who worked there for help. We went through and I told her which clipper I had (one that they carry in stock) and she gave me a blade. I made sure to double ask if she was sure it would fit my clipper and she said not to worry it was a universal blade and fits in all the andis clippers. Of course me trusting her i bought it and took it home to try.. . next thing I know I'm back at the store because it doesn't fit my clipper. I never once used it, I had the receipt for the day before but they would not accept it because the apparently the clipper blades are final sale. Therefore I was sold something and told by one of the people who worked there that it would work and it didn't and they would not take it back and admitt their mistake. I'm down money that they got to pocket because someone at their store made a mistake. Another time was bringing in a coupon. I had used a coupon back in Nov for 20$of a 50$ purchase. Well imagine my delight when I saw it again starting in Jan. The only thing they failed to put was that it was apparently the same one just extended and that I could not use it again. I looked all over the coupon and double checked and nowhere on it does it say that it was an extended offer. I figured if They put out a new one that it should be honoured as a different coupon. I have decided I will no longer go back to this place as they seem to make the rules up as they go.

Come to think of it thank you to each and everyone of you yesterday, you truly warmed my soul and it is so important these days to let you know! Huge hugs for being each of you and loving your jobs! Bravo! Your kindness of conversation to answer a question is beyond amazing! Thank you Hannah, her twin sister (apologies I forgot all the names) and two bosses.

The employees were super approachable, and the one who ended up helping us out (I believe her name was Brady) really went above and beyond - taking the time to listen to my concerns and suggest different possible solutions (at different price points, with no sales pressure at all), while also sharing her own experience of trial and error and lessons learned in a similar situation with her dog. She was so kind and genuine and totally put us at ease about a stressful situation, and the products we wound up going with worked exactly as we needed them to for our dog. With half a dozen nearby pet product stores to choose from, this experience has made loyal customers out of us and we will continue to choose Ren’s Pets Kanata every time!

THE STORE MANAGER IS SO RUDE ! I've been a loyal customer of Rens Pet for quite some time, but my recent experience has left me truly disheartened. The issue arose when I attempted to use an influencer code that was clearly designated for October 23, as per the provided screenshot. However, the store manager insisted that these codes could only be used by the influencers themselves and declared, with no evidence, that customers like me could never use them. Despite questioning this abrupt and inconsiderate change in policy, I was met with both rudeness and misleading information. I reached out to their customer support, hoping to find a resolution promptly, as I am unsure whether Rens Pet will adhere to their own written policy. As someone who values fair treatment and open communication, this incident has left me deeply distressed. It's a real shame to see the treatment of a loyal customer fall short of expectations.

Nice staff but had a bad experience. Was overcharged almost $100.00 on a 12 can case of dog food. Went to return the item after calling the store, but it was taking too long and I had somewhere to be so I had to go and come back. Went back the second time and again it took quite a while to refund me. They offered me an additional 25% off, but couldn't figure out how to do it and I could see it was going to be another long wait so I settled for 24% off. Again, nice staff and they were very apologetic, but did not seem trained very well. Which suggests poor management. I appreciate the savings, but even with the savings it just matched the regular price at PetSmart. Not worth the hassle.

Love this place. We have an 80lb female Husky fluffy butt and we feed her Wellness Core brand dog food and get the Greenies dog treat/dental chews. They always have them in stock. They also have great sales, sometimes up to 50% off the largest bags of dog treats (saving like $40) and $10-$25 off large bags of dog food. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Large selection of pretty much anything you would need. We love their little treats at the front that you can buy, I bought two of the bones today. Definitely recommend this place for your pet needs.

I always buy my products at Ren's they have good products and good service ! But last week I asked a question and the answer I got lacked a bit of knowledge....I've been a certified groomer for 16 years and once in a while when I do a nail clipping and see that a dog needs a bit of a refresh I use a bit of dry shampoo and a quick high velocity ! So my question was can you tell me is there a dry shampoo that groomers use or prefer then the rest !? The answer was no groomer use dry shampoo you would never see a groomer use a dry shampoo ever ! lol really !

Let me start by saying I always feel relaxed and comfortable shopping at Ren's. The Kanata location is a cozy store that has everything you need at reasonable prices. They sell high quality products, food, treats, and toys. The customer service is great and the employees always have a smile on their faces. Particularly, the store manager Matthew, he was very polite and helpful. He's a hands on manager and rang us through himself. I appreciated his positive attitude and cheerful service. I highly recommend this store and look forward to going back.

The Worst Pet Shop Ever!!! Not aggregating, I’d give a zero star if i could. The customer support was so bad. I bought cat food Orijen from here and wanted to give it back since my cats starting vomiting the food but they didnt accept by return even though i had the receipt. I usually unpack my cat food to a air free container so it stays fresh and threw my packaging. They insisted that they needed the packaging. I’d highly recommend going to Pets Mart instead, as they are more better in their returning policy

Ren’s is definitely my favourite pet store to shop at! Great selection of products at competitive prices. My experiences at this particular location have been nothing short of phenomenal. Every single staff member I’ve interacted with has been happy, enthusiastic, and above all helpful. They are all clearly pet owners themselves and it really shows when you talk to them. I feel confident when I ask questions or look for advice I’m getting good info from a fellow pet owner, and that makes for a loyal customer.

My dog was bit there by and was bleeding. The dog who did it was from an organization that the store had allowed to set up at the front. I called after getting home and let them know of the incident and they showed no compassion, no remorse, no care whatsoever. They just kept saying “ok” as I was letting them know how displeased I was with the lack of vetting that went into the volunteers and dogs’ socialization. Not going back there again, as I feel disrespected as a regular customer

I was at this store location Dec 22nd. My 16 yr old cats both have been having issues eating and this has been for the last 2 yrs with zero positive results trying medical and food changes. A staff member there advised me to purchase a certain probiotic cat food, wet it down and feed that way. Our lives have been turned around! Much appreciate the time she took out of her day to advise me and now my cats are no longer in pain and also no longer vomiting after each feeding. Thank you!

I would give 1 star if I could. Product quality is terrible and customer service is chaotic. I bought a cat hair trimmer which did not work for a second. I tried to return it but of course customer service refused in the rudest way possible. Do not buy from this store. There is literally 5 different pet stores in the area. Avoid Rene's pet at all costs. Go to pet smart which is a 2 minute walk from this store and has decent products and nice employees.

Usually a 5 star rating but recently there was a new packaging look on the frozen small marrow bones. Instead if having 6 small bones as indicated, there are 3 very large bones. I bought a package last week & thought they just made a mistake but had to buy them again this week and again 3 giant marrow bones. Very disappointed I guess I will have to find a butcher if you are unable to provide the correct sizing. They should have been cut in half.

E-mailed the company to order a bed and a pet carrier. Was told it would be delivered to my local store and I could pick it up. Two weeks go by, no follow-up call or e-mail to tell me it had arrived so I went in, but it hadn't come in yet. I e-mailed again and was apologized to, and told there would be a follow up to see what had happened. No further response was ever given and I never recieved the products. Horrible customer service.

I love this place! The staff are so friendly compared to their competitors. This stores offers everything you will need for your pet at awesome prices. I specifically go there to get my 90 lbs lab his favorite 'hawk bone'. The price is fantastic for this treat and it lasts my dog a log time - which is rare. I will ALWAYS be a Ren's customer from here on out. They also have a great rewards program so I recommend signing up.

We spent the day at Ren's Pets Kanata for a fundraiser and we were treated so well by the staff. Matthew, the store manager, did everything he could to make us feel welcome and was so supportive to each of us. While we were there I got to look around thoroughly and saw so many amazing sales that will help our service dog school to save money. This is our favourite store for our school. I enjoyed walking around the store browsing different products and found some products that i couldn't find at other stores. However when i checked the price of the Acana Dog food it was 10$ more than the one i just bought 10 mins before i go there. I love the store experience in general, It would be my top choice if the food was the same price. I'm not sure why the food was so cheap at the other store though.

I will never shop here again. While there is a large selection, the staff seems to be high school kids with poor customer service skills and lack of knowledge. I had to do a curbside pick up and the staff sold me cat food instead of dog food, which I only noticed upon arriving at home. When I called to ask about exchanging it, they refused because of COVID even though it was their error.

Ren’s has marvellous service. Their staff are well trained and understand what sorts of foods are good for different types of dogs and they were always able to help us out. The store is well stocked but doesn’t have a “big pet store” vibe. They don’t sell animals, only things for taking care of your pet. I would highly recommend their store for all your pet-caring needs.

The manager of this store is incredibly RUDE. They don't allow customers to use coupons and even insult and chase away customers. I checked the related policies at home and found no restrictions on using this coupon. I have already sent emails to the management and headquarters about this issue. Very disappointed! I will never visit this store again!

Very disappointed twice now I have had issues with products and have been passed around purchased a dryer to have it break down in less then a year to find out it only has thirty day warranty send it back to the company which is located deep in the states to make a long story short staff needs better knowledge of there product very disappointed

My son and I have had a new puppy for a couple of months now and are new to this dog journey. The staff here is beyond helpful and just flat out awesome. This used to be my Go-to store for everything for all my pets. From dog food, toys, treats and accessories to cat toys and treats too. Staff used to be very friendly, helpful and engaging, these days you will be lucky to have someone greet you when you come in, or even ask if you need help with anything.

Looks line a good place fore grooming supplies and toys for dogs. Cat supplies are something to be desired as is customer service. But they do have good cat harnesses. They seemed a bit short staffed. I hope as the team gel at this new location they are capable and inspired to excell in Customer Service.

As a groomer I often use this location to buy tools for work. There have been many times I go in, and items are misplaced, kept in the back while the shelf is empty. Very unorganized. Otherwise the staff is extremely friendly and I send many customers and clients there for their needs.
