Living over an hours drive round trip to the store I always call before I go to make sure they have the baby crickets I need for the dwarf tree frogs I have. On three seperate occasions now I have turned up, after been told “yes we have them and they’re all alive” to find over 80% dead which ends up being useless to me as the frogs won’t eat dead ones. I walk out disappointed again. People ring up for a reason and so as to not waste their time driving all that way only to find out it’s out of stock. Maybe it’s staff training that’s the issue but common sense should dictate that if the live food you’re after isn’t available just say so on the phone... common sense not so common. If someone rang up for a cat only to find it was dead when they arrived would that be acceptable as well? Live food means (live food) The Punchbowl store on the other hand have offered a discount if even just 20% look dead. Staff are much better trained, friendly and useful. Might be a place to buy dog and cat food but if you’re after live food, don’t bother....

Been a customer here for a long time, never had a problem, except for today. 1 star review because of the poor manners from this unprofessional employee. Taller aussie lady employee with glasses. A smaller dog ran up to my dog while waiting for the dog bath, and while trying to bring my dog away from this other dog, she rudely screams across the store at me telling me what to do with my dog (in a very rude and bossing way "KEEP THEM SEPERATE!"). Then while waiting for the dog bath, she then came up to us and told us to wait outside in the heat because our dog was "Aggresive" when our dog only barked once. We refused to wait outside (for obvious reasons), and she shook her head in anger right infront of us and went to the back to get another staff to talk to us. When helping the owners of the other dog, the small dog kept barking uncontrollably right to her face and she didn't say or do anything. She has no right to scream at me and tell me how to manage my dog when I had him in control.

In person, nice and great except i live 20-30mins away. Over the phone very rude and unhelpful. I don't think i every got such bad customer services. After i got transferred (10min wait), the lady who picked up just hang up after i ask her a very simple question about printing and binding delivery times. When i arrived for printing the indian lady work works there forgot to mention how much it cost and then tried to charge me excess fees... In other words, she tried to rip me off. Don't think my business is every going back to them for printing. Officeworks you just lost a loyal customer (4 years and counting). I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Better spend your money on a private or local print store. This one is terrible.

This is a good all-round place for your general pet needs. Staff are nice. Parking is easy. Prices aren't always the cheapest around so it pays to do a bit of research online first. Got a lot of what we needed starting out for our new cat here but if we weren't rushed the prices online might have saved us a fair bit. Petting the cute kittens that are waiting to be adopted is nice too. I wouldn't recommend you adopt from here though, just go straight to the RSPCA shelters themselves as the staff there are more knowledgeable, there are more animals you can meet that need to be rescued, and it's just the right environment for animal adoption. Leave Petbarn just for the purchase of your pet consumables.

First time visiting Petbarn South Strathfield (we normally order our food online) and had a pleasant experience in store. Popped in to grab worming drops for our new pup (may as well add a collar while we're at it ) and the lovely staff who approached us seemed knowledgeable and genuinely thoughtful particularly when it came to recommending AGAINST buying certain products due to our pup's age. I found it refreshing as most workers are taught to upsell, onsell and meet sale targets as priority. Customers such as myself are happy to pay a little more to support businesses that invest in their staff so if that's what you're doing, keep up the good work!

I had never visited any Petbarn before. I was putting my goldfish into a bigger aquarium that day and needed sinking fish food and decorative plants.After not really getting what I wanted from two local aquariums, I decided to do a click and collect at Petbarn. Petbarn is like a Bunnings but for pets! Low on staff but you can pretty much find anything you need. While I was there, I found many more treats for my fish, quality foods, driftwood, wide range of tank decorations. Plus, although not in operation ( due to Covid, I think) there is a pet adoption spot. I will be back rather than trailing several shops looking for stuff.

Visited on a Saturday morning at 10am. Ample parking available and easy access to store from car park. The store in very large and spacious, catering for pets on leashes. I was after some aquarium cleaning and maintenance products and was greeted by a friendly sales person. Very knowledgeable and provided good advice on different brands of same items. There was a large range of products and everything was displayed nicely. Prices were very competitive versus smaller specialist aquarium stores. They don't offer shopping bags but do offer cardboard boxes. Overall great shopping experience.

The staff there are always friendly and knowledgeable. There is always staff around to help I’ve never been left waiting for assistance when I needed it but they also leave you alone to browse in peace. The dog wash bay is extremely convenient with it being in the room. This is incredible especially when you have 2 large dogs to bathe! The product variety is vast they usually have what I’m after. The only down side is the price. It is definitely one of the most expensive pet shops around especially if you don’t stay on top of the discounts like the frequent feeder programs.

Went to look at some fish and was appalled by the quality of fish I saw. I saw one fish floating on its side (looked like it was close to death) and another that had white spots all over the body. It was also in the tank with other fish. It was clearly not a hospital tank. I think Petbarn really needs to take more care of their fish. I didn’t end up buying any fish because I’m afraid they’ll contaminate my aquarium! Wish I could’ve bought them all and looked after them myself as I felt really sorry for the fish there

Had been to pet barn at petbarn Strathfield for few times. The customer service we received from different team members was always excellent except the one from Tiffany. She was so cold and impersonal and even not willing to provide any assistance when we were choosing the worming kit just right around the check out counter. There is no greeting and “thank you” from her even we said. We were really disappointed by her service, but we will still come back because of the other lovely team members and the vast product range.

Everyone is so polite and lovely. They’re also really knowledgeable about animals (which should be a given at pet-related stores but often times something workers fall short on). You can tell each team member really cares about the animals in their current care and the cleanliness and health of the animals (especially the fish) show how hard they work. I come here for all my animal care needs and have bought a very healthy Betta fish from here. This is my go-to store.

I have been purchasing my dog food for over a year here. Recently I purchased dog food and it was advertised inside the shop and on line...... My husband provided his details (phone number as we are members) and paid. On the drive home I looked at receipt and noticed we were charged full price. 15% may seem small but when it's on $100 upward it adds up! Very disappointed, no loyalty for loyal customers

Service was absolutely appalling. Noone greeted apon entry. When asked how to adopt a pet was told I wasn't allowed as it was to late and they had to clean out the cage for another cat to come. So sorry that's no my problem if you dont want to do your job and allow a cat not to be adopted because you don't want to clean out the caGe is not my problem..I was served by Harry.

Being a customer of this store for ages and understanding they close at 5pm. I walk in at 4.58pm on a Sunday and they tell me the registers are closed! I explain that please my bird it completely out of food and again the reply is registers are closed. 1 star review for me and I'll never return here I'm happy to go to another store! Close the register at 5.02 not 4.55!!!

This is my local petbarn, I've always had really friendly service every time Ive been there. Went in today to use a gift voucher to buy some dog food to donate to Blacktown Animal Holding Facility. Store manager Nikki was very friendly and helpful, she ensured we got the best prices available so we could maximise our purchases for the donation. Thank you so much!

One of the employees is great, Petbarn is lucky to have him. He knows the products, recommend according to pet owner needs. Moreover, he was willing to go the extra mile - on his own time to pick up products from another Petbarn for customer because this one is out of stock. I asked for an edible cat wormer for a stray i can't physically administer into its mouth, can't get close enough, i explained that. The guy, Anthony, sold me one he said was chewable, Milbemax he read the back. I get home, read instructions, NOT chewable, so i crush it up, mix with food and she wouldn't eat it. Waste of $31

One of the relatively newer and larger petbarn store with a wide selection of foods and accessories for your pets. The store even has live pets for sale including a large selection of live fish. Staff were friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Their prices were very reasonable compared to other pet stores throughout Sydney.

My go to Petbarn. Staff are always helpful and click and collect are usually pretty quick and have never missed a thing. There is a huge car park so parking is never a issue. Inside the shop they have a self-serve dog bath machine which is very useful. The counters do get busy sometimes.

One of the biggest Pet Barns I have been to. This is where we wash our greyhound in the self serve dog wash. $10. Great staff here and variety of everything here. Join the Pet friend loyalty program, it finally paid off last trip with a $10 credit... free dog wash!

Located on a busy road but the entrance can be a bit hidden. Pretty standard store with decent parking. Prices are higher than what you can get online but you can't take your dog to an online store. Staff were friendly enough. Has a decent range of products.
