Review Relates to Non Performance of Penrith City Council Waster Management Contract. PCC uses SUEZ ENVIRONMENT to do curb side pick up for residents. I booked a curb side pickup for Wed. Jan 6, 16. This was confirmed via post. When the pick up was missed I rang SUEZ call centre and was politely informed that it would occur today (Jan7,16) or if not tomorrow). When the pick up did not occur on either day I rang SUEZ (Monday 11, Jan 16) and once again was politely informed that it would occur that day or the next. No pick up occurred. I rang again on Tues. 12/16' and explained the situation. The call centre staff were polite and unhelpful. I asked to speak to a supervisor but the supervisor did not wish to take my call. My review of PCC Waste Contractor Suez is poor and unreliable. I challenge PCC to determine why there is such poor communication between the call centre and the staff doing the work. I feel that Council should determine if other residents have had similar stories and what can be done to ensure that the KPI for performance is met. The type of unreliable service and poor communication reflects badly on the Penrith City Council Note: to date my waste still sits in a pile waiting for collection.

Last week on Tuesday afternoon I was returning home from seeing my mum who lives in St Clair. I live in Wollongong. I had the unfortunate experience of being hit up the back of my car whilst waiting at the lights. The man advised his thong had slipped. Stupid really there is a reason why you aren't allowed to drive in thongs. He hit my towbar so more damage to his car than mine. Due to this I had to pull over at what was a very muddy side of the road. I got bogged. Suddenly I saw two men running towards me. They assisted me to get my car out of the bog. I asked their names. I wanted to let you know of the amazing help that they where to me. Disaster averted with their help. I am truly grateful. I asked them to write their names down and for a card. Ash Prasad and Jason Wicking. I have to say I am not a fan of Penrith council as they have not done the right thing by my elderly mother with regards to her neighbours dodgy building and breached of clear building guidelines. However its good to know that at least some departments there are decent and good people. Thank you.

It's really great to see Penrith City Council are engaging in more community minded programs like The Village Cafe and the events on down by Triangle Park. The Skirts Program by MCA and Council was fantastic aswell. Inclusivity is improving with more people in the community who are disadvantaged are being given more opportunities to come to different programs/events run by Council. I am a bit worried about how the area is being developed, I've noticed this especially down by Hickey's Lane where there is a new development happening there I've had to fix up some of the trees because they had fallen over, I've done this elsewhere aswell. When places are being developed and the trees and gardens cut down nobody is managing the gardens and trees after the development is finished. I've also noticed that when I contact Penrith City Council sometimes they help with your issues and sometimes they don't help and your email gets ignored.

I asked council to come and stop storm water coming to our property from neighbourhood carpark, ( carpark had fresh soil ground with no drainage on soft soil of whole carpark ground resulting all water oozing out of the ground in our property leaving damage to our property) council representative got the bribe from carpark owners and didn’t fix the issue in 2 years. After I complained from him to his supervisor, he went to our property did breach of privacy and after taking 11 photos unlawfully he reported my sunroom little extension to his department for demolition. Council followed his evil act and issued demolition for our sunroom which built for 4 kids for entertainment. This is the true face of Penrith council, revenge , animosity, racism, and discrimination. SHAME ON PENRITH COUNCIL. I m sorry that we are living in LGA with these kinds of discriminatory actions from local council staff.

I like to thank Adam for helping me this morning at Illoura Way at Jordan Springs. He stopped for me in his garbage truck as my yellow bin was not picked on Tuesday. He took the time to let me know to call the council for a bin pick up He was very cheerful and very helpful. Thank you Adam . Then I rang Penrith council spoke to Katie from customer experience she was wonderful great customer service skills and very pleasant to talk to. She advised there will be a pick up in the next 48 hours. You have great people working for you. Kind regards Diana Churchill. Today on the 3.5.23 spoke to Lyndal from customer experience. She was so lovely. She has great customer service skills . My yellow bin was not picked up and my case was closed. She escalated the matter and advised that my bin should be picked up by 3pm Friday afternoon. Thank you Lyndal.

I called Penrith council today due to my accident - I had a bad fall due to uneven pavement outside my unit here at St Marys on my to the train station around 10am this morning.. now waiting to see my doctor for my very sore right shoulder that’s in sling right now.. I decided to lodge a complaint to the council, & I spoke to a very lovely lady - Alana from the call centre .. she’s so friendly & helpful ..& she was able to lodge my complaint on their system today which she gave me a reference Nos .. so I can use it to send photos of the uneven pavement that made me had a bad fall today ... I give Alana a 5star rating for excellent customer service!! Thank you!! Zhennie

I have been a Penrith rate payer for 27 years. Adjoining my house is council land. It hasn't been mowed for going on 8 weeks in summer and it would be 2 feet high. My neighbor has been visited by a 5 feet red belly black snake but the council are too busy to get the reserve mowed . I am sick of waiting for the council so i mowed the land myself. I also would rate the council zero stars but you have to give at least one too give a rating. Here we are 1 year later and same old same old. Weeds 2 feet high. I must have mowed my lawns 20 times since council moved theirs.

  • Rick Putr

Very disappointed with Council after they ignored local residents views and proceeded to approve TWO Places of worship 1000mtrs apart without adequate consultation with Local residents. To make matters worse, after a Group of local residents requested that the matter be heard in the Land and Environment Court Council insisted that the DA applicants Solicitors join with Council to fight the residents review request, using their vast financial resources against the residents. If this is an example of Councillors representing their ratepayers then it is a great FAIL.

How are you guys suppose to allow families to be buried close to each other when a person can only purchase 2 plots per council lga I have tried to purchase a plot for a family member only to be told that I can't because I already have 2 even though one is vaccent the other is occupied I wanted to purchase another was hung up on by council they told me it's the state legislation only 2 plots in one name I have purchased numerous plots in other nsw council areas where I have family buried all those plots in my name Penrith council is a discrace

House getting built near you working from seven till 6 pm seven days a week. Council employees are unable to inform builders when they are not to work and went to work e.g. out of hours weekends. Informed you have to go to the park fair trading all the licensing board. Council used to look after neighbours when builders are getting houses developed in area. The main reason councils are made up in all areas was to help or resolve issues between neighbours. Why is council there now to take the rubbish away?

  • josh fletcher

Red bins should get picked up every week, not every 2 weeks rather than the green bin being picked up every week. People have more rubbish in their red bins than they do in the green bins. Constant maggots and the smell of rotten food and dirty nappies, our neighbours always give us a dirty look because of the smell and the day the red bin gets picked up it’s full again from the previous week of rubbish that we’ve had to set aside because it doesn’t fit in the TINY red bin. Fix this stupidity.

Today I went to park in my usual spot outside the swimming pool only to discover that 3 hour parking signs were just being erected. As I work voluntarily in the police boys club premises for the penrith community kitchen I was not impressed. I work on Mondays with a few other ladies and there are other women that work during the week. Then there are the many workers that also need to park somewhere. penrith council has got it wrong again. When will you people do something right about parking?

  • Olivia Tolley

Such incredible customer service!! I called the council today after my husband dropped his phone into a locked park bin by accident (yep...) fully expecting to be blown off, put on hold, or ignored. Honestly, I called as a last resort and thought the best I could get was a sympathy laugh. I spoke to an incredibly helpful, polite and understanding staff member called Amy who had someone there to unlock the bin 10 minutes later. I was blown away. Thanks so much guys!

Absolutely disgraceful this council, the roads are goat tracks, the streets are filthy with rubbish, dirty old mattresses, vacant blocks of land where the grass is over a metre high therefore a fire hazard. The main street of Penrith has more bumps in it than a dirt road, it appears they only serve areas where the so called high society live. Weeds growing everywhere and along main roads, the manager needs a good talking to or he needs to move on.

  • Priya Desilva

Tried to contact the waste department regarding my damaged tellow bin, was hung up on THREE times and the same lame excuse of lines being faulty was given to me. They always say the same thing EVERYTINE and its getting really annoying! Penrith council is the worst council to deal with if i knew it was like this i would have never bought my property under this council!

  • Joshua Smith

Pretty embarrassing establishment to donate fees to every quarter because they certainly don't do much. My property got flooded 5 times due to neighbours non existent guttering. Took 12 months for someone to go have a look even tho all the evidence was on email. They must be flat out if you take into consideration their work Ute's are always parked up on the phones

  • Christel Power

Staff were friendly enough but can't organise an unpicked up old bin after a lodging a case through the website. 2 calls and 2 months later, the bin still sits there. I've been told they have organised for the bin to be picked up both times, the second call apparently being escalated! Twice received emails advising the case has been resolved and closed!

  • corey bendeich

What complete idiot in the council who has made the green bin every week and red and yellow alternative like hello idiot its winter grass dont grow every week and it should be green and yellow bin alternative and red every week...so hard doing your job hey sitting on your ass making stupid decisions...I'll be calling aswell not finished yet screw them

  • H W

Useless. Can't keep the area clean or safe. There are burnt out cars in the local parks that just get ignored by council workers. Crime rates are at an all time high but Police and Council refuse to do anything about it. Why is it that this sort of thing is only allowed in Western Sydney?

  • S M

Ugly suburbs. Terrible planning controls has led to urban hell. The hottest temperature suburbs in Sydney with no design or planning for heat management or tree coverage requirements. Is this Mumbai or Sydney? What a joke. This council is a depressing joke in 2022

  • Paul Cremonini

Bloody hopeless told 4 weeks to replace my rubbish bin that the truck driver has trashed by splitting it with the truck. Maggots and stench on these hot days and its been 5 weeks so far. Lazy bastards still haven't done what my thousands of $$$ of rates pay for.

  • ValueSuites Penrith

Another council that just sits on their hands doing nothing but collect rates, Shame Penrith council! I only gave 1 star as I couldn't submit without clicking on at least 1...you deserve a negative. Your customer service is atrocious

  • Sahil Mehta

One of the most friendly, efficient and responsive councils I know. their rates are lower than Blacktown's and other neighbouring councils. Would be good if they could extend their operating hours. But so far so good.

  • Jason Franks

Penrith City Council are one of the most approachable and progressive Councils I have dealt with. I moved my business to Penrith and as an ‘out of towner’ the community has welcomed me with warm arms. Go Penrith!

  • Mercedi Nathan

Penrith council are pretty good on service. Any issues I've had with missed or stolen bins, the council have fixed in one phone call. Haven't had any bad experiences with the council so yeah …

  • Shervin Prasad

Unprofessional service , uncaring to concerns from shopkeepers on Queen st , authorising heavy noisy drilling to be carried out with petrol fumes entering shops during business hours. Rude staff

  • Scott

Disgusted with the council I constantly have people blocking my driveway and the one time a ranger comes out the offender WHILE BLOCKING NY DRIVEWAY puts on the water works so Ranger let her go

  • Craig Young

Never had an issue with Council. Had to call them today regarding a pool registration issue and the two people I spoke with were fantastic. Job well done and a huge thanks!

  • Margaret Cruickshank

Staff extremely helpful and will be sending somebody out to look at the problem on the uneven footpath between the back of Glenmore Park High School and the playing field.

  • Mk F

In my experience with Penrith Council..Staff are always very polite and helpful, our home building approvals went through very quickly. Great experience every time.

  • Danielle Albertine

So easy to deal with and exceptionally friendly. While they couldn't help out this time, the lady I spoke with made the whole process delightful. 10 stars from me!

  • Craig Davison

Went there this arvo to find out some info, lady was rude who served me handed me a piece of paper and said go down this route!!! Should’ve just rang instead!!

  • Raptor G

Joke of a council. 2016 rates notice $2673,one year later 2017 no changes to site $3818. A 42% increase. No other word but criminals.....

  • Shant Mejloumian

Short staffed. Last minute reception staff call in sick; the whole world falls apart and dont answer calls for 10minutes..

  • Alison Robertson

Staff are very polite and seemingly helpful on the phone however thats where it ends. Problems are actually not resolved.

  • Geoffrey Farrell
