I visited this library several times. Bundle of books available here. Internet facility available but I didn’t use. Free membership available. You can borrow four books. There is separate section for kids which is always. It’s near to parramatta station ,parramatta square and west field shopping mall. Returning books also easy. We need to place the books in dedicated return shelves it will scan automatically. We need to register online for free to get library card. Using that card we can get up to 4 books for free. Need to return after 3 weeks and after that we can extend online for one time. For getting books you need to place card at scanning machine and scan the book. It’s almost fully automated and not much wait time. It is a quiet place to study.

I went into the library yesterday,I haven't printed anything off a computer for years,it made me anxious and I almost had a panic attack. The Asian lady Anne on the second floor was so lovely and helpful if it wasn't for her help and recognising I was about to have a panic attack I don't know how I would of coped. She realised what I was going through, she immediately gave me calming, breathing exercises which helped me immensely I cannot speak highly enough of this woman, what she did for me in the short time I was in the library she helped me get through the rest of my day.She is amazing, and a valuable employee, she deserves a payrise at the very least if not a promotion. Thank you Anne, you have no idea how much your patience and kindness helped me. x

Beautiful facility with great selection of books and amenities however be prepared to exit the building BEFORE 5pm. Leaving on the dot or just a minute after 5pm, you’ll be berated by rude security staff who will grunt and complain about not scanning your books earlier and how they will have to wait an extra 10 min for the door to shut etc - which unfortunately really sours the customer experience. If the library is open till 5pm as advertised, technically visitors should be allowed to stay till 5pm and not be shamed and shooed out rudely with a myriad of excuses. Either adjust closing hours earlier to allow for staff more time to perform closing procedures or pay them more to finish up later after 5pm.

Was looking for a jp and was told to come in at 10.30 and they will slot me in inbetween bookings. Arrived at 10.30 on the dot and apparently there was no space for me i dont live close to the library so it was a massive inconvenience to tell me to come to the library and then once im there tell me to go somewhere else. Advised the staff on the phone that i was desperate for these documents to be signed and after wasting my time i had to run around like a headless choock trying to find another place to certify a one page document. Would definitely not recommend.

What a wonderful update from the old library! I couldn’t explore much but bigger and better I would say! Just a small inconvenience to locate in Parramatta square. Clearly we can see the address but I was still searching and asking people. Had another person as well who was searching ! If possible to have some boards suggesting library?! I understand there is some construction underway but even the pole in middle of the road which directs to different street doesn’t point towards parra library. Google maps is not very accurate which was a hassle!

I visit every couple of weeks. The new location is a marked improvement. Spread over two levels with a returns space and check-out kiosks on both. The fiction books are a strength here. There is a good mix of classics, Australian authors, new releases & books hyped by TikTok. The electronic library is extensive including both audiobooks and e-reads. Lots of places to sit including some with charging ports. Staff members are visible if you need help with something.

This library is a great spot to get away from the noise and hustle of parramatta. Generally it is spacious and you won't find trouble trying to get a spot, however it is slightly filled with high school students on weekdays. The computers can be used by anyone and provide great access to the web, all sorts of books and magazines are displayed across the library making it the perfect hub for bookworms :) Honestly would recommend a visit!

  • Boram Yi

Location is wonderful and it gives me perfect vibe to be wanting to read. But just one thing, the new library seems they have not set up any after hour chute outside the building to return borrowed books. The building does not allow access after library hours during weekend (not sure about weekdays) so you cannot use any chute even if there's one inside building. I only hope there is any chute outside of the building.

Parramatta Library is an absolute gem! The peaceful atmosphere made it the perfect place to lose myself in the world of books. The staff was incredibly helpful, guiding me to the perfect reads. With a wide selection of books, I found something for every interest. Highly recommend this library for book lovers like me or those who would like to study in a quiet and peaceful environment!. ✨

Best library in Sydney, hands down. I go to a lot of libraries (sadly) and many have fancy architecture now but Parramatta has the nice exterior and really functional and usable spaces. This is a huge gift to local students and other residents. Even the lobby has some great spaces for chatting or studying and we're playing only EDM bangers today which is the absolutely correct study music!

  • Jacky W

Such a wonderful experience. Friendly staff helped me to get my library card and showed me how to use the printer. There are multiple places to sit down, some with charge points. Book varieties more towards to leisure than academic. I hope they get more books in the future. Toilet is clean. Ground level is just a lobby. Books are located in level 1 and 2. Printer and PC are on level 2.

I must say I have had great experience with the staff members of the library. Very friendly and they go above and beyond to help you with your new library card or any other services that the library provides like printing. Also if you call them they are really helpful and patient to hear you out while on phone. The JP service gets busy at times but the JP is very nice and friendly.

for a temp location, not purposely build for a library & limited space the library has done extremely well. It serves all ages and all demands. understandably, no food no coffee for the large number of people there everyday, including babies and homeless. this fast growing area really needs a bigger library to meet all needs, quiet area or noisy bunch.

  • Caitlin O

The new place is hard to get to without going through the station and In the entire square there are no bike racks, and due to construction your not allowed to put your bike anywhere near the entrance. Like what's the point in going then. The quantity of books is not great either. Blacktown has a much better selection.

I had a writing session here at evening time, and I love it. This new Library is very modern in terms of layout and design, and i like the colour of their interior, trust me it looks dramatic in the photos since they used red and green, but it’s actually very soothing to sit here and do your reading/writing/studying.

  • es L

Absolutely 5 star modern library in Sydney! Just a short walk from the train station and bus terminal. Plenty of sitting area from Ground to level 1 to level 2. Library is located in Level 1 and level 2 with easy access via lift. Toilets are just outside of the library. Easily spend the entire day here!

  • Kishore Meganathan

A good library with nice collection of books and audio visuals. If you are after a particular topic/language books, you can let the staffs know and they will get it for you from the central library. Giving it 4 stars, as there could be more seating availability, which I currently find it to be limited.

I'm so impressed and so in love with this place. Amazing environment and incredible vibes. The typical library services are way too good and the staff there could not be more helpful, very sweet and proactive assistants. Equipped with cutting edge technologies for printing and scanning etc.

  • Hadeel Sheikh

The new library has the perfect atmosphere but when I went there recently had a bad experience with their head of security lady. She was from an east asian origin I suppose and she was extremely rude and aggressive with a bullying behaviour and was very inappropriate. Very dissapointed.

  • Gokul

An ambience of calm and inducing reading readiness... great customer experience and staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. They also allow people to conduct community development programmes... facilities to take print out, scan and internet... ergonomics, whatelse we need...

  • Vikrmn: Author

Great facility for the readers and others as well. For printing its use worthy but the printing process is little complicated. Usage of the computers by the non members is chargeable for a fee though it’s immaterial but library should give it to the needy. Overall great experience.

  • vanadi sureshalingam

The great place for everyone. Especially the study space. Thank you for supporting the students. But unfortunately the library has not updated their website about Easter holiday season opening time. Much appreciated if they can update the opening hours throughout the year.

  • Daniel Leung

I haven't been to the library in a while and went recently to do some work and reading. The place is so tidy and clean- which is a plus considering covid. The librarian Rosemary was particularly helpful and friendly, made me feel welcomed. Would recommend anyone to visit!

  • Sundar Padmanabhan

Friendly staff who answered your phone, trying to be very polite and helpful, neat two floors of books ,titles could be limited but neatly arranged. No car parking and easy access from Macquarie Street, best will be trains and walk into the Parramatta square..

  • Y A

I encountered a female staff member on level 2 with curly hair, who was tall and skinny. I sought her assistance on printing and a few related queries. Unfortunately, she did not seem to care about my inquiries. I found her to be unhelpful and unfriendly.

  • Rachel Plumer

Ridiculous covid rules, security is rude and people under 16 need supervision?? There needs to be a different approach to this because high school students should be able to study in the library without parents having to go with them if they are under 16.

  • Darren Daz

Great new building and layout, but remains like all other public libraries in Australia, where there’s no respect for peace and quiet. Kids and teens make a lot of noise, as if they were just at a mate’s place, and no staff member seems to even notice.

  • Noreena Sheikh

I was at the library on 26 November 2023 with my daughter and there was a French speaking supervisor on the ground floor who was stopping kids from moving around saying it "isn't allowed". This had never happened before and was very inconvenient.

  • Mia Sutton

Most terrible library i've ever been to. Disrespectful staff that clearly have got around 3 brain cells left, because they just look at you like robots when you ask them something. The staff prowl around the isles with their beady eyes, to

I have just recently joined the Ermington Library and I want to say how wonderful and professional all the staff were with my selection of books. Especially Rosemary who was very helpful and knew all about the books in her library. So nice

  • c寶 明

Don't want to give even 1 star. They spent money for updating their office only not spending money for updating books in multi cultural section. Where has my all taxes gone? I wanted to donate some nice books much recent & clean then what

  • Satya N

New building is extraordinary. Checkouts are awesome. Staff are as usual very kind and helpful. Layout and space is very good. Easy parking and access from Westfield Parramatta (exit via the train station access area from level-1)

  • Vandana Mohture

We love our visits to this library! We visit every month. Our 4 year old is super excited, has a topic (or few) to pick books on every time. The staff ia very friendly and the book collection is great. Thank you so much!

  • Therese Isaac

Unfriendly staff and very condescending. We understand closing time is very important but a smile, respect and friendliness goes a long way. Work on your staff member's manners and people skills. Peace!

  • Rena Loucas

Wow, have to say I was amazed at the comfort level they have gone to. Such a pleasurable place to be. I could study here for hours so comfortable and great atmosphere. So many resources at hand.

  • Ajay Walia

  • safyurek

First of all, this library is made with the latest technology. And you can see the interior and exterior side the futuristic art . But, all over the world, all librarianship has rules.

  • Dr Za Manaf

A very impressive modern building nestled in the Square. Totally awesome space with facilities among the best i have seen and come across. Well done Parramatta City Library.

  • Alice Moon-Star

The new library is really nice. Good architecture. There is plenty of space to sit and read, good events such as baby and rhymes. Bathrooms and parents room available too.

  • Xin Zhang

It is new and good facility but IT access is inadequate. The security is too tight that I can not connect github and stackoverflow, very developer unfriendly I will say.

  • Les Saville

Meeting rooms within Library are spacious. Chairs & Tables are stackable. Support for the community is a generous idea. A huge THANK YOU goes out to the council.

  • katie YO

Appreciate Parramatta council, updated old Parramatta library, improve its value, convenience, great facilities and great location. Wonderful …

Exceptionally well-designed for people from all walks of life. A great step towards a gentrified Parramatta that builds on the vitality of the community.
