Russo & Russo is a father / son restaurant and the family vibes are strong in every aspect. From the decor to the plates to the service - it’s like dining at someone’s home, someone with exceptional cooking skills! The restaurant is across two levels, the lighting is low and cosy, it’s perfect for date nights, girlie catch ups and small groups. The menu is designed to share dishes which is perfect. We ordered to zucchini flowers, scallop, anchovy and focaccia for entree and the casarecce crab and riginette prawn pastas for mains. All the food was rich in flavour and luxurious. The scallops, bread and pastas were the stand outs by far. Cocktails were superb as well. The wait staff is very knowledgeable about the food and drinks and very good at recommendations. They’re attentive and friendly. Overall cozy and friendly vibe. Can’t wait to return and try more of the menu.

The space is exceptionally beautiful and the staff are very friendly and attentive. I was only disappointed by the food. I ordered the risotto, Jerusalem artichoke, pepperberry,goats curd which could have been really dreamy but the pepperberry completely overpowered it. My friend ordered the reginette, mussel butter, Yamba prawns, xo pangrattato....the salty seafood flavour for her was also very overpowering.....both of us couldn't finish our meals. We ordered charred Roman beans to accompany our meal and they had a very strong liquorice flavour, even though it wasn't part of the description. The saving grace was the cocktail my friend ordered and the zucchini flower starter. This place has had excellent reviews and has been on my radar for a while to try. I'm really sorry I was so disappointed.

Best Italian food in Sydney made with high quality ingredients. Food was really delicious with low cost for the high quality, amazing service and a wonderful atmosphere. A recommendation is to get the tiramisu for dessert, it is the best I have ever had.

What an awesome Jen of a place. Hospitable with a family run restaurant which is getting hard to find. Charming bistro feel with beautiful memorable photographs. Unpretentious, delightful and then there is the food. We tried over 50% of the menu and loved every dish! Fresh, made with heart and served with a smile: an absolute must and cannot wait to come back

All Entree we’ve ordered were so yummy. But Mains were quite salty didn’t like most of it. Especially risotto was a big failure tasted like something burnt and very rough texture almost not cooked. We had one bites each only... Homemade coke was yum. Staff were friendly. We were served on 2nd floor nice vibe, lots of candles, quite dark. And very old wood smell? Which was disturbing from the sitting till the end of dinner. Overall, IF i come here again, would order entree only with nice wine and homemade coke!

Enjoyed lovely dinner on Wednesday night. The restaurant was quite full by 7 pm but the staff were friendly and the set menu dishes were great. Next time we will probably try other pasta dishes and specials. FYI. BYO ($15 per bottle) is allowed except Friday, Saturday and Sunday which is good I think.

Food was extremely tasty and servings generous. Service was amazing. We said we were cutting fine for time with a show at the theatre and they were so accommodating, to the point I felt a bit bad for mentioning it. Looking forward to going back with more time and experiencing the set menu. Highly recommend!

Had such an amazing time at Osteria. The food was so delicious and the staff were incredible. It’s hard to find good service now a days but osteria staff showed so much passion and attention to detail and my friends and I feel so comfortable and looked after. We will definitely be coming back!!!

Not a winner in my opinion unfortunately. Waitress was really trying to upsell us which is always an uncomfortable experience. I must say the peanut sauce on the flounder is not nice at all, it was giving satay sauce at your local Thai. When you’re ordering a nice piece of fish, you’d like to be able to taste it! I found all the dishes to be very rich for my taste.

We had the set menu which turned out to be a good choice. Starters were OK, pasta very good indeed and duck breast for the main that was satisfying. Very pleasant dining area upstairs and an attentive and knowledgeable waitress, all came together for very good meal. Also had a fig infused negroni that was outstanding.

I came here for a birthday dinner tonight and this restaurant was lovely. The staff were very friendly, alway filling our glasses with water. The whole restaurant gives you warm vibes. The pasta dishes was a highlight for me, it was just so tasty! I loved it! Will come back. The “old” Italian man/waiter was very hospitable.

Tried their course menu. All the food was unique and wonderful. The presentation was nice, staff were caring. Got a small anniversary surprise at the end as well. Would visit again.

This is a review of the Valentine's Day set menu (2022). Reading the reviews of the restaurant, I was expecting a lot from Osteria di Russo & Russo. Unfortunately, the Valentine's Day menu did not deliver.

A delicious date night spot. Upstairs is cozy and intimate. Service was personal and friendly. All food was incredibly delicious, highly recommend the octopus salad.
