Went for the first time yesterday and the experience was pretty poor. Our waitress, (older, blonde woman said she was the manager) was undeniably drunk. She forgot about half of our table multiple times, she also knocked over the food plates when collecting them after we were finished and she spilt a drink all over one of the guys as she was setting it down. We had to actually flag over one of the other waitresses to take over as she was really out of sorts. This is absolutely not compliant with smart serve regulations and was pretty sad to see, as the place does have potential. The ledges are all very sticky, the service from the manager wasn’t great, (although she was nice, anyone handling alcohol needs to be stone cold sober) but on a positive note there are lots of pool tables and weren’t many people when we went so that was good.

We held a work event at the Orange Monkey this week and had a fabulous time playing pool! Brian was such a breeze to coordinate with! He set us up with a great caesar salad and pizza buffet, had tables set up for us to eat at with plenty of napkins, cutlery and plates available. The food was tasty and well prepared (it really surpassed my expectations quite thoroughly). Service at the bar was also excellent - very quick and friendly. Over the years, I have coordinated many events and this was one of the easiest, least stressful to arrange and such a great value! Thank you to Brian and team for making our event so enjoyable - we highly recommend the Orange Monkey to anyone considering it for an event or visit!

The Orange Monkey was a MAJOR part of my youth. Once we were old enough to get into real trouble we made the pool hall our home and it kept us OUT of trouble. Countless hours were spent here shooting stick and socializing with friends and acquaintances alike. I have ZERO bad memories of this place. Never had an issue, not one, after years of patronage at a vulnerable time in my life. Honestly, thank you for all those safe and enjoyable moments. I would recommend this location to anyone, it is definitely the best pool hall in Ottawa.

Nice location, friendly stuff and good idea open a business like that with pool tables and some snookers tables, I give 2 stars for that. Drinks and food are overpriced and hamburgers or hot dogs doesn't come with fries, we paid extra 6$ for small fries. The pool table are good but on my opinion the rate for minutes are expensive. On a Sunday afternoon should be at least half full and it was almost empty. Didn't give me a good vibe to go out with friends, but it could be good to play a professional and quite game.

One of the better pool and snooker spots in town. Big warehouse and frequently busy, but the per hour rate is calculated by minute and very reasonable. The ambience is pretty good and the crowd varies a lot. They maintain their tables better than most/all the pool Halls in downtown, so I really appreciate that. Service on busy days can be lacking, but that's what happens when 2-3 people have to coordinate food booze and tables for hundreds of people.

Our first time going, really liked the pinball machines and pool setup. The service was not too hot. While the servers were friendly, they were short staffed and disorganized. The image attached is worth $17, which bothers me a bit. When I got my bill, I was overcharged, and it was almost impossible to read the bill from what they were able to print out. The staff fixed it and everything worked out in the end, but overall the experience wasn't great.

I was so impressed by the professional customer service!! Natasha was fantastic and made us feel incredibly comfortable. We were nervous to go out in public after the last lockdown and hearing about the new variants but felt completely safe at Orange Monkey. Our pool table was about 15 feet away from the next couple playing. Everyone was wearing masks at all times, and the bathrooms were incredibly clean. We will be back!! :)

A no nonsense billiards bar. A bit rough around the edges, but I personally like that sort of aesthetic for a pool hall. Service is good and friendly. They have Heineken in quarts, which is awesome. Accidentally spilled a full quart like a cartoon character and made a pretty big mess and my server was super cool about it. I like coming here after a late shift at work to unwind and shoot some pool. One of my favorite spots

We booked the Orange Monkey for a group Wellness event for 35+ resident physicians a few weeks back. I liaised with Brian over the phone and via email prior to the event, he was very accommodating, organized and just a pleasure to coordinate with. His staff on the event day were very helpful and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be booking with the Orange Monkey for any future events! Thanks for everything!

This place is iconic, a legend, the standard against which all others in this city are held to... and it still stands. It's been years since I last visited. The tables are okay. Their cues need some love.Bring your own if your serious. Good tunes in the background and a choice of beers and drinks to make everyone happy. It filled up pretty quickly and there was a wait when we left, so plan accordingly.

The Monkey is an Ottawa legend. World Champion Cliff Thorburn played here after he won The Crucible in Sheffield. It’s in a hard to find out of the way commercial strip. It’s not walkable. The exterior is missable entirely. Inside the Monkey has the only snooker tables left in the city, except for the Rideau Club. The beer is affordable. It’s exactly what you want in a pool hall.

We recently had our office Christmas party at the Orange Monkey and it was a great success! Our group wanted to incorporate an activity rather than sit around a table at a restaurant. We were not disappointed! Brian, the manager, was very responsive and pleasant to deal with. The pizza and salad were tasty. And the flat per person rate for food and pool was very reasonable!

Huge pool hall with both snooker tables and pool tables. Abundance of parkings out front. Close to LRT at 5 min walk. Facade is small but intérieur is very long and large space. Bar is located to the front, gated from the pool tables. Great for pool or snooker enthusiasts. Reasonably priced ( almost cheap considering post pandemic and everything is expensive ).

The billiards table was fun and I enjoyed the night out with my friend. I liked the glass bottle coke drinks that they served, as its rare to find anywhere. The Uber inaccessibility had to do with the GPS tracking system of the Uber app, which resulted in me getting into a wrong Uber, and not Orange Monkey. I do apologize for my previous misleading review.

This place has the benefit of being there. It happens to be close to a space often used and rented by political groups. The food is cafeteria meets microwave and beer while competitively priced very basic. It's bit great, but as it is the only place open past 9pm in that complex, it is not so bad that I won't go back... Might not eat there again though.

I wanted to play pool with my 13yr old son. It is 19yrs+ starting at 8/9pm. We arrived just before 6pm and got a table no problem. We played about 5 games of pool. We ordered chicken wings- FANTASTIC. Great service. Great place for a kid to see many ppl's different pool techniques. Mix of single players, pros or groups of 5-10. Great experience.

Amazing place for fun. The had Amazing sweet cider and the nachos were good. The pool and snooker tables are really good. The place is well maintained. I noticed the crowd was enjoying the game and food as well. Need to try other food options as well. Surely coming back to this place. There are very few places that have snooker table.

Not into pool so this isn't my place automatically. I had an ok time but a couple of observations, the parking system is a little weird, the pool tables made for an awkward time for our large party. Theres an upside to this however, you can go with a work group and easily avoid the colleagues you are less interested in chilling with.

Was there just for drinks, ordered a beer and water with friends. Had to ask 3 times for the water. I was at the bar, tap right there. Eventually, I just asked another server. Saw a mouse running around. The place is big and I'm sure it is good for pool. Lots of parking around and good stuff near by.

Great place to play pool. All levels. Single ppl atta table honing their skills, 2 guys who brought their own cues..groups of 5 or 2 p... or like me- a mom & her son playing pool before the 19yrs+ hours begin. 90minutes of playing pool and teaching my son. Fantastic chicken wings. Excellent service.

Great place to hangout and play pool. They have a good selection of alcohol and foods, but not too sure if i would go there solely for the food. Its also very fairly priced at about $8 per hour, and less if you have more than 2 people. Overall, a great place and I highly recommend.

Fun place to spend a few hours. Usually fairly quiet on weekdays. My only complaint is that they're still using social distancing for the tables, cutting the available tables in half. There aren't many places to play snooker in this city so having half the tables gone really sucks.

Very well located, this pool hall offers large and small tables. Prices match other pool halls. Nt for children. Standard beer is offered (on tap as well). Parking is free for 90 minutes and paid for by pool hall if the duration exceeds 90 minutes. General rating: good.

Always a fun place to hang out with friends and enjoy pool. The atmosphere is always great, nice music, great pool tables, and reasonable rates. Plus, the selection of beer is nice and so are the waitresses! Prices have climbed a bit recently, but still worth it.

Chill place to shoot some pool or billiards (if that's your thing). Lots of space to spread out, reasonable prices for both pool and for food and drinks. Friendly service, well-maintained, and clean. Good place to spend an hour or two if you're feeling up to it.

Great place in the city. It was very busy, so there was a waiting line for pool. We ended up playing snooker instead. Lively place on a Saturday. Tables looked well maintained and the place was clean. The crowd was mixed, everyone was having a good time.

Food is alright. Pool tables are in excellent condition. It would be nice if they had bigger TV's for sports. There isn't much for beer selection either. Still a good experience though. We went for our office Christmas party and had a great time.

I would say this is the best place to play pool in Ottawa. They have an incredible service, the food is good and you will have a good time playing with friends. You can either play pool or snooker at Orange Monkey and they fully enjoyable.

First time out since covid, staff was very friendly and ontop of the drink game, was never looking to go for my next drink, the servers were always ready, asking I'd I needed another. Pool tables and darts were great. Sabrina was awesome.

Not usually too busy and prices are ok (reduced price during off hours). Staff are friendly. Haven't tried the food. There is a modern jukebox, so able to select your choice of music (the jukebox is a little louder than I would like).

Got there at 1:15am just to be told they already called last call…. 45 mins from last call time? Beyond rude as it was evident the bartender was just trying to do her closing duties before 2. Not going back and I’m their neighbor.

This is one of my favourite hangouts in Ottawa. Plenty of free parking, very close to downtown, pay as you play. Great friendly staff and owner. Reasonable prices on draft and big stubbies. This is a rare gem in Ottawa.

I hosted a charity event here at the end of March and the owner was awesome. He was extremely friendly and accommodating, donating more pool tables than requested. It is a great spot for any get together or event!

i went for my birthday and they were hella nice. once one of them knew it was for my birthday i got a free shot of tequila, so overall it was a lot of fun and great environment to cool it w your friends

Independently owned and operated, this is by far the best billiard facility in the city. Numerous tables, big and small for pool or snooker. Dart boards are available too.

They have good number of tables that you don't need to wait, everything else was good. But their price per hour is higher than other places in Ottawa.

Fun place to play pool, but could use a deep cleaning. Wipe down the tables and it's obvious that the table felt has not been cleaned in ages.
