WARNING: Few crazies, but many beggars and a high homeless population. Keep your goods hidden and secure in your vehicle, don't take liberties. Has a few nice places, of note are the Royal Pizza, Dollarama, and No Frills. There are a few professional offices and such, along with some liquor stores. Check the individual reviews on those. Make sure you have your belongings properly secured and/or hidden in your vehicle when you come here - the area is crawling with homeless and beggars are a constant. You'd do well to avoid flashing cash. That's all I can really say. The No Frills is great, the Royal Pizza has excellent service, and while the Dollarama is a bit run-down, it's solid. The main problem with the area is the homeless who simply will not refrain from troubling passerby - and in this time of pestilence, few of them can be bothered humoring health conventions. The property would be nicer if they had more active security to see that these rabble-rousers depart, but more would probably just fill the gap anyway. At the very least, crazies are a minimum - it's mostly just beggars and folks who've done everyone a service by being too doped up to do much of anything. So yea, tons of homeless around, make sure your valuables are properly secured in your vehicle and don't take excessive liberties on that front. You can be fairly assured that you'll regret doing so.

There's a Royal Pizza located in this Centre that my friends and I frequent weekly . The restaurant has a great selection and the staff are extremely accommodating for a lactose intolerant person like myself. We always have the same server and she is very efficient and so pleasant to deal with. The manager is also very friendly and works as hard as the employees. The chefs prepare terrific food and even those in the back doing the dishes are so nice. A real family style restaurant and I highly recommend eating there.

The reason I visited Old Strathcona Shopping Centre yesterday. Was because I belong to the gym there Anytime Fitness. It's nice to know a gym is still up and running after the pandemic. Right next door to it is No Frills, which I've already commented on. Right next to it is the Dollerama store. There are other shops, in the shopping centre that I haven't visited yet, so I don't wish to comment further.

Decent shopping centre that has lots of businesses all in one place. It is also in a super convenient location that makes it easy to get to. However, the parking lot itself is horrible. There are numerous potholes (and some not super small either), the parking spots are fairly small, and there is often standing water in some of the parking stalls. Other than that is is a great shopping centre.

Too many panhandlers and people with substance abuse issues. You can manage to leave your vehicle and go directly into the store and you might not get bothered. However, good luck going to multiple stores without being asked for money , or have someone tapping on your car windows while you are waiting for someone. Use to be a nice little spot that was easy to walk too but not so much anymore

I do some shopping at No Frills but don't ever go on a Sunday, it's truly a nightmare. Prices are reasonable, bonus, but I'm not impressed with the produce even tho' the price is right. Staff is helpful but for the most part I don't feel a good vibe very often. Perhaps reason being they're too busy and they need to work on their social skills.

The parking is annoying and no one respects other drivers or the flow of traffic, but that's hardly the fault of the owners/businesses. It contains a few good restaurants and a few good services from fitness to grocery. Great location for a No Frills and Dollarama, and the Seoul Fried Chicken is incredible. Definitely check them out!

One of my favorite places in the city to shop. Its got your whole day planned into one shopping mall... Start with a workout at anytime fitness, jump over to Royal Pizza and order yourself a pie and then go do your shopping at the No frills and dollar store... by the time you are done go pick up the pizza and you're on your way home!

Went into Royal pizza.Foynd the parking lot about 85% full with quite a few cars moving in or out. What caught my eye today was the onsite security guard speaking to a panhandler in a very genital way and persuaded him to move on with a smile. That was awesome nice work as a member of our community. "call em, like i see em"

Really hate shopping here. I understand a lot that happens. But the floor walker don't need to follow you around the store every time you're in the store when you've never been steal anything or attempt to steal anything. I used to go to the store it's there every day now I avoid it like the plague

Fair parking and good location for a quick stop to Whyte Ave. Go get some nugs, a tea, a few groceries at shoppers and then lunch at a near by food spot. Good location, the aisle in the parking lot are a bit tight to maneuver in and there are no right of way signs to point out flow of traffic.

Royal pizza is great. Dream Tea has the best Bubble tea IMO. Seoul Fried chicken is also amazing. Had a good meal at Buddies Wanton Seafood Restaurant. This is also where I used to park when visiting Whyte ave and I never got a ticket. I've even left my vehicle here over night. Overall 10/10

It is a nice place with essential shops of various aspects found collectively at the same place… Having such a Shopping Centre is great for a neighbourhood as it enables one to buy almost all the essentials with just a 5 min walk… All the shops here are good and are reasonably priced…

Pretty decent. The Dollarama is good and the No Frills while limited selection, is still useful. The store's fairly clean, and the staff are friendly. The No Frills is under new Management, but it's still pretty much the same. It's a guy named Brook. Still the place I shop most often

  • Hector L. Campos

I truly appreciate this place, mostly for its hospitality, and a variety of treats available in the area too. Friendly staff in the medical clinic, at No Frills, at the pizza place and frankly, general good vibes all around. One feels welcomed & safe here. Gracias :) LCA

  • Sunny Chau

I regularly visit this shopping center due to its convenient south side location and proximity to Whyte Avenue. They offer an eclectic selection of stores and eateries with a nice mix of ethnic diversity. Dollarama is on site as well as No Frills and parking is plentiful

  • Sam McConnell

Nice variety of establishments that are tidy and well stocked, and the food is good in the non shopping places. Nice too is thd easy access to the angle parking stalls in the lot. I was driving a small uhaul and parking it was much easier than the usual stalls.

  • Eric B

Again, I was accosted by a drunk panhandler as I got out of my car. went into the dollar store came out and agian was aproched by another one.Last time this happened was just a week earlier.I will not be back even for royal pizza which my family enjoys.Too bad.

  • Chris Rataushk

Parking was good for a warm summer day, a Sunday when everyone is enjoying the after effects of a short rain and beautiful sunset. The whole area is always beautiful and you don't need a vehicle to enjoy. Check it out sometime, you won't be disappointed.

  • Jim Nealon

The mall has my favourite pizza place/restaurant in Royal Pizza. It has a liquor store. It has a Dollarama. And it has a discount grocery store No Frills. And I think it got a fitness place for after the pizza, beer and potato chips/cheeses. Lol.

  • helga romero

Went to No frills as usual eccellent service. If you have never shop here you must go. Always they open a tll if they need to serve you. Im amaze how good the cashiers are looking to serve you so you don't have to do a line. Eccellent excellent.

  • Nigel Newton

Giving the location there is a fair few homeless around but the centre is often nice and clean. Good selection of stores. Groceries, Takeout Gym, Dentist and Liquor store. Decent amount of parking but sometimes is full.

  • Brendon Restall

Its fine. Staff are frequently busy and not manning the tills and the self check out has frequent issues. Make sure u have a few extra minutes for technical difficulties. Besides that a totally average dollar store.

  • Patrick Murray

It is what it is. Very congested parking lot. Quite a few homeless around, so if that is something you like to stay away from this not the shopping centre for you. Otherwise it's like any other shopping centre.

  • Chris Mac

Great small shopping strip mall in old strathcona. Of course it's old Strathcona and this area offers every service possible that you need. It's a great neighborhood with low crime and a lot of friendly people

  • Majid Sikosana

Small parking lot that's always full. Shops are adequate. It's off a busy main road so getting in and out can be hards sometimes. Has a good selection of Asian restaurants and takeaways. Nothing more to say.

  • Lisa Wood

It's lovely and a blast from the past. Bit run down but local business people are trying to hang on to a bit of nostalgia . I appreciate the extended effort and the love they have for the Ave. Hugs.

  • Anna Fu

Family setting with super great pizza, calsone, lasagna. Lunch special is excellent around $12 with big portion and lots of cheese. This place is around since 80'. I highly recommend it.

  • Denise SEVIER-FRIES

Typical old strip mall...dollar store is the go-to place for small stuff and Christmas necessities. Negatives are few...just too many homeless people hanging about. Sad...

  • Michael Nedoshytko

Decent shopping center with everything you basically need. Parking lot is tight. There are bike racks if you cycle in the summer. Accessible by transit as well.

  • anthony young

There are few stores in the same spot so you can effectively get things done. Still a strip mall so not expecting the most amazing thing in the world......lol

  • James Scalf

It was dirty, crowded, and had too many pan handlers. Did not enjoy the experience... which is a shame as it looked like it could have been nice otherwise.

  • TS Owen

I get perfect produce here as well as a wide variety of groceries from different origins and polite & helpful staff and good prices.

  • Shinki Midha

Everything here you can find. Like for daily stuff Dollarama, for groceries No frills and save on foods all food cusines and bars.

  • Natashia Hrushka Jewett

Parking is all one way so if you are not expecting it, it will be a bit of a annoyance. However the stores make up for the issue.

  • Glenn Shatz

From the long-lasting original Royal Pizza to Dollarama and Brook's No Frills grocery store, Old Strathcona is where it's at...
