I'm most keen on embroidery, and to my very pleasant surprise this place stocks a large range of the typical dmc skeins, AND Madeira threads! I had travelled all the way to Top Ryde to view Madeira threads in person, I wish I'd known that they were here and with a fuller range + friendlier service too. They also stock bullion wire and silk ribbon - niche embroidery supplies I was only hoping to get on etsy. It would be a dream come true if they stocked more supplies like this (like different colours and textures of bullion thread, more goldwork materials which could be used in quilting too). The woman in the store was very friendly and helped me with my questions about how to achieve a look of something in my embroidery project. The store carries an aesthetic of fabric - very foliage, flora and fauna heavy, and quite "western", all lovely prints and high quality. I like that it doesn't try to do all fabrics badly, but a narrower range of high quality. The price is higher than you'd get from your big box stores: 90c "VIP" price for a skein from spotlight, $1.50 per skein here, so maybe bundles or periodic sales would be good. However, spotlights are sparse, poorly stocked, and the fabric quality isn't so good. So, to support a small business (closer, with better service, and better supplies overall), I would happily buy more supplies here.

I've lived in Oatley my whole life and have recently taken up knitting. So, I walked into this store for the first time with a smile on my face, wanting to purchase some knitting supplies. I politely asked to purchase some knitting needles and I was met with foul attitude and an extremely dismissive nature at the front counter. The lady barely even looked up at me to acknowledge my presence, she seemed busy on her phone. She was unhelpful, even when I specified I was new to knitting and had no idea what I was really looking for, and you could tell she couldn't wait for me to leave. The store was empty, I was the only customer, so you'd think she would have been happy to assist me with a more affable attitude. Disappointing, as I always like to support local business, especially as a lifelong Oatley resident. But it seems in this case, my business was not wanted.

I used to live in Oatley for a year 7 years ago and I didn’t know they have such a beautiful shop here in Oatley! I travelled to Oatley to visit my family and found this lovely and cute shop! It is like a treasure to me! I walked in the shop and was immediately warmly greeted by a friendly lady, who I forgot to ask her name. I bought a lots of fat quarter quilt fabrics there. Even though they are more expensive than spotlight but their fabrics are way more beautiful and good quality. I had very bad customer service experiences with my local spotlight and I love to support a small business because they are lovely people and they carried so many different fabrics that you can’t find in big brand shops like Spotlight and Lincraft. I can’t wait to get started with my new projects with these fabrics I got. I will definitely come back again.

A delightful shop for the sewing crowd. The owners are helpful and friendly. The shop runs a series of classes that are very popular.
