Kathryn was recommended and came to our family with compassion and care when we recently lost our daughter. Listening to our wishes, combined with her experience and flexibility, she went above and beyond to ensure we had both a beautiful private family funeral and a celebration of her life for friends and family. This was all organised efficiently and easily amidst the restrictions and uncertainty of Covid. We loved that she helped us decorate with our daughters artwork, and sought permission for our family dog to attend the service. Kathryn took the time to get to know us as a family and more importantly understand our daughter. Kathryn expertly captured our daughter’s spirit and the love and happiness she brought to all our lives. Thank you very much Kathryn for doing such a superb job of creating not one but two wonderful services in remembrance of our beautiful daughter. We will always be truly grateful for your hard work, friendliness, compassion and support at such a tough time. We highly recommend Kathryn and Northern Beaches Funerals.

When my mum passed away, day after being rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, I was totally unprepared, though mum was 93 years old and a post-stroke, high level in-home care recipient for the past four years, I was still unprepared. Faced with the need of having to find a Funeral Director and being made aware that the majority of funeral homes in Australia are owned by a single corporation, I turned to the Internet, coming across an article about Northern Beaches Funerals and on sighting Katheryn’s photo, my intuition whispered that she was the one. Katherine was a Godsend in helping me through this most difficult time. She instinctively knew what questions to ask, to assure and guide, alleviate anxiety, in making decisions and help to put together the most beautiful memorial service with a totally unexpected bonus of Rod’s beautiful photographs, such incredible shots, capturing scattering of ashes. I can’t find words to thank Kathryn and highly recommend Kathryn and Northern Beaches Funerals.

A day after my father passed away, I found a note he’d left requesting a private memorial by an independent funeral operator. He’d attached an article written by Kathryn several years ago. I called, and Kathryn visited me that evening; it felt like an old friend had come to take control and get things organised. It was such a relief in an otherwise distressing time. Covid restrictions meant the dates and details had to be juggled, but nothing was a problem for Kathryn. The memorial was 2.5 hours away and when we arrived a beautiful marquee and table of momentos had been set up. Kathryn took the trouble to find out about dad’s life and organised a beautiful service to fit his personality. Her fees are very reasonable, but her genuine caring and passion to get things right are priceless. I cannot recommend Kathryn highly enough.

My Mother in-law recently passed away and although we were aware that it was a strong possibility in time, it still took as by surprise and suddenly we were faced with the reality of needing a Funeral service. I did a quick online search and had a gut feel on using a Local company Northern Beaches Funerals. We are so glad we did, Kathryn was not only calm and caring but also went out of her way (about to go on Holidays after a covid ban lifting) and came straight over to the wonderful Avalon House to meet us. In such an emotional situation, her compassion and knowledge made it a much more bearable experience. And I whole hardheartedly endorse Kathryn & Northern Beaches funerals

Kathryn was extremely sensitive to our needs when our Mum passed away unexpectedly - she was clear ,gave great guidance and listened really well. She took the time to enquire as to who our actually Mum was. We really felt in safe hands during what is essentially a difficult time Kate Hughes
