This is now my favourite, local, Chinese restaurant. I've now been there 4 times and have had nothing but good service and good food. It makes me wonder how some of the "reviews" below are written, maybe they went to another restaurant ! But to begin, the restaurant is clean, clean and seats ~40 in various configurations from 2 people to groups of 10+. The room is not crowded. Service is on the ball, attentive but not intrusive, and knows the menu well, including the various names Aussies call the same dishes. Now the food. Food dishes are larger than most other places, so be aware that a main and a few entrees will leave you very well fed. The menu has lunch specials (7 days a week) in 4 fixed price ranges to cater for all types with about 30 choices, plus, the ala carte menu has about a further 60. The first time you look through the menu it's intimidating because there are so many choices. Because our waiter knew what our dish was she was able to correctly translate it into rainbow beef. Two of us ordered rainbow beef, special fried rice, lemon chicken and a few soft drinks. The food was fresh, hot and accompanied by cooked yet crunchy vegetables. It tasted terrific. Lunch for 2 have us change from $50. Everytime I go there, I've selected different dishes I haven't tried for years. Who remembers eating Billy Chee Chicken as a kid as a special treat ... It was as good as I remember it. Weekends there are a several family groups, weekdays groups of local businesses & tradies, they also have a strong lunch and dinner crowd. We've never felt rushed, service is really good, and the food is great. Parking is out front (Kingsgrove Road) and on local cross streets. They also do takeaway.

Food is usually good ,fresh and flavorsome, serves are a good size. However service can be slow during the evening or lunch hours 15-20min wait for orders. Dining area is clean but looking abit dated. Staff are usually polite but not really friendly ,which is alright. Always seats available so usually you can just walk in for a meal. Not a bad option if your looking for Chinese food in Kingsgrove. Tables usually seat 4 or 6 people. Cash seems to be preferred ,2%surcharge on Cards. Ordered a large chicken friedrice ,honey chicken and sweet and sour pork for $52 . 7/10 for the food. 6 for the service and atmosphere.

Exceptionally delicious food. Just when you thought you've had a lot of amazing canton food, here's another to add (and probably top!). Dishes ordered were from the Chinese menu. Unfortunately, I can't read Chinese, but fortunately, a family member can. The highlights were the melon soup, fried oysters, fried eel, tea smoked duck and (not rice) flour noodle. So pretty much everything that was ordered, I have loved! You do need to pre-plan and order ahead with these dishes as they are "special order" - certain produce is not always readily available. I have found the dishes low on MSG but super flavourful, which is a rare find. Honestly, if you've never ventured to Kingsgrove, now is the time! Pics courtesy of my SIL.

Very very good, personally a suprise given it's so local that easily missed when driving by. Chinese restaurants in a non typical Asian suburbs' give me a feeling that since they mainly serve non-Chinese customers, therefore over a long period of time they've lost the touch of authentic Chinese dishes (some simply know nothing about authentic Chinese dishes. I've tried it before and it went horribly wrong). Don't judge a book by its cover. For potential non-Chinese customers who are reading this, I suggest when you've got tired of sweat and sour pork or honey chicken, pay this restaurant a visit and ask for one chef's home dish.

I think it's rather dodgy that they have two separate menus. 1 that is cash only and the other you can pay via eftpos. Only having $40 cash on us, we are a couple. Asked if we could pay cash for the cash only menu and eftpos on the other menu. They said no split bills. (We are 2 people, a married couple). Happy to pay whole thing on card but NO they want to commit tax fraud and only accept cash and expect us to go to the ATM in torrential rain. I think the lady was just rude. We were happy to pay cash of value $40 and rest on card. But nope that rude vibe that was not okay. We got up and left and went to a more deserving venue up the road.

We order through menu log multiple times per week sometimes even twice a day. Tonight we decided to try this restaurant and this is the first time we were blown away by the food we have received from a restaurant, it is by far the best Chinese food we've had. The service was also amazing the guy called ahead super friendly to let me know he was one minute away, I just couldn't fault them even the temperature of the food was just right! We are really looking forward to visiting them when we are out of lockdown. I highly recommend them to anyone.

Food not bad pretty much all the time, but lady at front needs to change jobs or get manners, and y isn't there any English menu's on here, yes there is only one in the shop but 30 in Chinese, I think that is rude and disturbing considering what year we are living in,change Ur times restaurant owner, and last y when u spend $60 in food we have to pay for efpos fees when they are offered the service?!

Used to come here very regularly, ordering basically the same food each time. Other day we ordered a dish, it had a burnt aroma to it (congee). Asked for a new one only to have the service argue that it's not burnt. We confronted them a second time only to be told it's not burnt and the new dish would have the same taste. So we paid and exited only to be told again by the service that it's not burnt.

Delicious food. Unique dishes I haven’t tasted in other restaurants before including soup served in a coconut, fried milk. Lobster and crab dishes were cooked very well. Friendly service although there is only one waitress working the entire restaurant. Don’t mind the unassuming interiors. Come for the good food at good prices. BYO

  • Michael James

The food at this restaurant is amazing, the servings are HUGE and so very tasty, every time we have been to eat in the staff have been very welcoming and generous. We have had home delivery a few times (MenuLog) and the food comes quick and hot! So glad we gave this place a test run a few months ago during COVID restrictions.

Ordered before a huge crowd of people came off a bus and was told my food was not ready. I had seen this group ordering their meals and somehow they still were given their meals before me. Rude customer service when I kindly asked if my food was ready. Won’t be back

The food is honestly really good, and they have unique choices you don't see at all in the common Chinese restaurant. (ps. May require being able to order outside the menu)

Terrible. That's just a few words to describe the food quality. It took an hour to receive my food. Tasting the food was just a downer. The food carried an unpleasant aroma, even the sauce smelt off! The dim sim clung onto the paper bag, the honey chicken tasted raw, overall poor presentation.

  • Alex Zhong

If you go for their $7.80 lunch special, make sure you ask for that menu as they sometimes don't give it to you if you look Asian. The free 'diet' Coke that comes with this deal is a bloody joke, honestly tastes like Coke mixed with water (hence they charge an extra $1 for a can)

Local Chinese restaurant at the end of the main street. Family finally thought we would give them a try. Ok standard Chinese food. Will suffice if you are craving for it. Wife and kids didn't like their choices but I had a while fish and it was actually quite scrummy

  • George Marinos

The lady at the front is very rude with very poor customer service and the food is not the best quality. The restaurant is a little dirty inside as well. There are much better options for delicious Chinese food in the area. I wouldn't waste my money on this one. More

Excellent and delicious cuisine such as Combination Special Fried Rice, Omlette, Sweet and Sour, Chow Mein Crunchy Noodle, all combination choices, and the Beef Spring Rolls and Plum Sauce yum yum. The delivery driver is awesome too, thank you so much, cheers.

  • Dean Khan

One of the best satay beef dishes I've had in my life. Haven't found a place yet that can top it. Only criticism I can give is they don't like two payments e.g. two people paying their for their own meal. And some of the staff can't speak English too well

  • Bet Sharobem

Spring rolls black old oil! Hair in food absolutely disgusting. You have dropped the quality and level of food. Health Department needs to visit this place. Wrong order missing dish! 4 Lettuce leaves for San Choy Now terriblenever returning again.

  • Evan C

Ordered delivery from here. Never again. Order was 45 mins late. Called when 15 mins late. was asked what I ordered as I ordered via Menulog. They then read the order to me. When the order did not arrive 5 mins after tried to call back 9

Terrible service. Very rude, we waited nearly an hour for a mediocre meal- pork buns and the Singapore noodles were mostly shallots with barely any chicken.

We ordered delivery and it came 20 mins earlier than the estimated time, so thumbs up for that! Food portions were good, taste is pretty much your average Asian restaurant, but they have a good menu so a few surprising dishes.

  • John Miranda

The food was poor to appalling. Although the spring rolls were OK, the chicken dish was rubbery and the beef dish was full of fat. We also did not appreciate the waitress twice asking for a tip. Definitely not recommended.

  • Isaac Neary

Extremely rude service. The lady that’s behind the counter is very rude and couldn’t even smile. Every time we asked for something it was an additional charge. No idea how they are still in business.

Service is terrible, despite that i speak in the staffs’ native language. Food is decent but not that great and overpriced. Lack of communication with customers will trap you with surcharges here and there. Good luck

  • Christopher Navin

Singapore rice had mass amounts of paste in it which wasn't mixed in. It was VERY bland. BBQ pork again was average at best, pork was dry and only seasoned with soy. Pork dumplings the only thing worth getting.

  • A Z

I really enjoyed the food here, been here twice now. However, both times I've tipped $5 and $1 and the staff didn't look very impressed, neither did they thank me. Next time I eat here, won't bother tipping

HORRIBLE!!!!! Just got a delivery the driver was downstairs kicking at our blocks door, swearing at the top of his lungs! We wrote in comments for them to call if issues cause the buzzer wasn't working.

  • Tony S

Lady at the front counter needs to learn some manners. So much attitude for what?. Made me go pull out cash while the eftpos machine was right there. Dodgy cash only hope ato comes pay you a visit.

They make you pay in advance because the food is garbage. You complain about the quality and they say tough luck. I recommend NEVER eating here.

Worst pad thai I've ever had - completely flavourless and they changed it so much it wasn't even pad thai anymore. Wasn't cheap either.

3.5 Stars. Great value for money - especially with lunch time specials. Service is pretty good and the food does its job.
