I reviewed nail salons in the area and trusted Google Reviews to make the best choice which is why I am compelled to write my honest experience so that other people can make more informed decisions. I relied on someones high praise for the owner of the place "Jessie" and specifically requested for her. I was stuck in the elevator in my apartment nearby and walked in circles and mistaken the place for 3 other nail salons. It was so crazy because I passed it. Its location is hard to find because its very discrete right next to the F45 workout place. I was unfortunately 15 min late but called when I was 10 min late to let them know I will be there in 2 min, I just got lost. They called me 3 min later right after I called and they just said, "Are you coming?" Like of course, I just called you... I walk through the doors. No one was even there. That call was rude and not necessary. Then I asked if she had unicorn chrome, she at first was trying to push her containers of glitter on me, but I specifically want a chrome finish and not glitter. I showed her an image of what I had done in the past and would like again. She was confident and said she can do it. She asked me what colour, I said nude. She proceeds to do her work but I notice she never gave me options to look at the wheel of colour options, I just assumed she would ask me at some point. Only to just watch her put this "nude-ish" colour but in the end it was PINK! I kept giving her the benefit of the doubt because I convinced myself shes the expert, she knows what she is doing. She then proceeds to put the chrome powder on top. I clearly am unhappy because its not what I requested for. She even asks, "Do you like?" I was honest and told her well its more pink than nude, this is not what I wanted. Shes responds, "this is much better, people who come in for nude they want this." I then said, "I understand but with my skin tone being olive I don't like pink finishes" She then just says, "Well I like it..." Then she continues and puts another layer of the gel on top of the chrome finish. Which is a BIG NO NO!!!! This takes away the whole effect of the chrome finish! It makes it cloudy and murky! In the end it created this pearl effect which is FAR FROM what I wanted! However I still had hopes for her, and I thought she put that extra gel coat to maybe correct the colour. This wasn't the case! She just says ok, done, go wash your hands.... Also, she did tell me in the beginning that new set is $60 and with chrome is an extra $20 because its laborious and requires more layers (it shouldn't) In summary, poor customer service, unfriendly, and isn't technically experienced enough to really know what customers want. Seems like she just does what she wants. I know in the picture, it doesn't look all that bad but the experience was awful and in the end never really did get what I requested for so I will never be coming back here again. I wish everyone else the best of luck and hope this review was helpful.

I got my nail extensions done from this place today, she was girl in red t-shirt( dont know her name but she told me she was from Japan) who did my nails. Pathetic quality , she kept on scrubbing my nails and my skin got hurt, plus she did not file my nails properly, neither clean them before starting the extensions. Pathetic service and quality. My nails literally hurt right now, they feels so heavy. She made my nails look so thick and hard that I am too uncomfortable to use my fingers even for eating Would never recommend this place to anyone I paid something around 60/70 CAD for full set and it was totally unworthy Plus she did not understand properly what I was communicating, and also she made the nails look uneven in terms of thickness and thiness Would never recommend anyone to go here I also got my pedicure done as well ( it was a male who did the pedicure). Pedicure was also very average Total paid 92CAD for both services and I am unsatisfied as well as unhappy the way my nails look right now

Been coming here for some time now & have to say it’s probably my favourite nail salon! I was a loyal customer at a place downtown for many years but when I moved to Etobicoke, Mimico Nails quickly became my go-to. I’ve tried a few other places in the area but none are as friendly & professional. Very clean, nicely decorated place. The staff is incredibly friendly & talented, and the overall vibe is very warm & welcoming. I get my manicures done by the owner, Jessie, & she always goes above & beyond! Always happy to help me choose my colours too (which is difficult because they have a HUGE selection) Great place, try it out, you won’t regret it!

BE THERE AT YOUR OWN RISK!! I have been a very regular customer, however the last time I went, the male technician sliced my toe with the razor while doing my pedicure and it was soo bad and bleeding that I could barely wear shoes. Today I went again thinking that maybe it won't happen again, guess what? the same male technician cut my cuticles really bad and its bleeding. I just walked out of there and never going back there ever again!!! HE SHOULD BE FIRED!! I have a very important event to attend tomorrow and instead of pretty nails, ill be there with bandaid!! With so many different nail places within walking distance in this neighborhood it can be hard to decide where to go, but I think this will now be my go to. Relaxed atmosphere, nice decor, clean, and the best massage chairs. I usually don't like getting shellac or gel nails because my nails grow so fast. Even the OPI polish I got done here looks so good. They took the time to do numerous coats, and it looks like it will last a long time. Prices were pretty fair too. Very impressed!

With all my respect, but the ladies are far from knowing a real quality of shellac manicure techniques. There are many tutorials from professionals to learn from. Here the samples photos of a good quality manicure made by my previous master. Lasting time at least 1 monthafer your salon is only few days, all rushed because the wrong technoques. Shellac must be applying inside the cuticules that's important. Surface have to be smooth as on the pics I have downloaded.

This place is super racist please don’t support it. I walked in with my mom, they looked at her up and down n said “no we’re busy” even though they weren’t. It was very clear that this place caters to specific type of people. We didn’t say anything we just walked out but this was the most uncomfortable experience.. it hurts me to the core that my mom was judged like that . This shouldn’t happen

I went to this nail bar for a walk in appointment and they were very accommodating. The salon is very clean and hip. I got a fresh set of gel extensions with an added design. The technician who was helping me was extremely pleasant to talk to, she was very quick and attentive to my needs. I’m extremely happy with the service that I received and I will definitely continue coming here.

Visited this nail salon on Thursday for a shellac manicure and although I was extremely impressed by the job walking out, nearly 4 days later 2 nails were lifting. On day 6 they were all lifting so I called in and instead of fixing them, the lady who answered summed it up to dry hands or my nails oil level. I will not be back. Queen nails on the Queensway is much better.

Got a refill done there for the first time and my nails turned out TERRIBLE. Uneven, not symmetrical, she was rough and in a rush for no reason, her smoothing skills were mediocre. She needs to get a class or something to improve her skill because other than that the colour options they had were incredible, and they were nice but sadly the result was 1/10. What a shame.

This was my first time going to Mimico Nails Bar and it was a great experience. The salon is clean and neat in appearance, nothing overly fancy. The younger girl (19yo) did my nails and she was very sweet. I got a simple 1-colour shellac manicure for $30. The process was quick (approximately 20 mins). I will see how long these nails last - they told me about 2-3 weeks.

Wouldn’t recommend. The staff were not very friendly. Went back 3 days in a row to get my nails fixed over and over again. It was quite frustrating and they seemed okay until an hour afterwards. The technicians don’t seem to be trained correctly. I took pictures to prove but can’t seem to post them. *update* posted the pics of my shellac nails.

This is my new place to do my nails. I got gel nail refill and a pedicure. The staff were amazing, fast, and my nails were perfect! I went to another nail salon near this location and my nails were not done right...I am so happy to have found this place. This place is new, its clean, bright and friendly!

My experience was amazing!! The place was really really clean, great attention to hygiene and it's brand new! The best bio gel refill and pedicure I have ever had! Jessy is truly amazing, she constantly checks to see if you are okay and takes time and care in everything she does! I am 100% going back!

I went to this nail salon based on the previous review and Jessy is amazing! Her pedicure was heavenly. The massage was amazing and my feet feel baby soft. I got bio gel on my hands and was so happy with it! The salon is also very clean and sanitary so 5 stars! Excellent customer service as well.

This is my go-to mail bar for the convenience (it’s close to my home). I like that usually you can get a last min appointment, and it’s very clean. I would recommend going to Henry, he’s my favorite hand nail tech. I like to just come here for my hand nails, they do a pretty good job.

Excellent Service, very friendly staff who really pay attention to their clients. The location is very clean, decor is wonderful, smells amazing.....love the Lemongrass!!! Definitely gives you a feeling of being in a spa! Very happy we have such a great spot in the neighbourhood.

This is the best nail salon in etobicoke and entire GTA. The interior design is magnicifant. The staff is amazing. The service is superb And they are always smiling and treating you like royalty. Price is very good too. So why not come to the best place and leave with a Smile.

Roughly handled by the nail technician. My nails are so thin I could barely untie my shoelace without my nail breaking. There is no price breakdown at checkout and like others have said the cost of service is inconsistent and overpriced. I do not recommend going to this salon.

I love this nail salon! Very clean and tidy but relaxed. The staff are great. They interact with clients and make them feel welcomed. I'm very happy with their work and professionalism. I am so happy that I live next door to them. I definitely recommend them.

Horrible manicure. They basically tore out my cuticles piece by piece and it hurt pretty badly too. Everywhere I’ve been to removes it gently in one piece. These are my nails after 3 days. My cuticles are damaged and I def wouldn’t recommend this place.

This is my regular nail salon and I honestly don’t understand all the negative reviews. I’ve been coming here for 2 years and have always had a great experience! Everyone is so friendly and really great at making you feel at home and comfortable.

Nice place. However the staff can be quite rude. I walked in she asked me do I have an appointment (no) what do I need done (manicure) she said sit down. It's been half an hour now and people are coming in for appointments for 630. ‍♀️ …

Nice salon - very clean and friendly - but my experience was only okay. I got shellac and it was a great colour and last a long time, but the edges were not as clean as they should have been. I ended up fixing it up myself afterwards.

I don’t know why there’s so many reviews about bad service. Today was my first time here and I found everyone to be very nice (it wasn’t busy). The customer service was good, I had a pedicure and manicure and I’m very happy with both.

I just got back from getting a pedicure from Mimico Nail Bar and I had a wonderful experience. The staff is extremely professional and thorough. The place is very clean and modern looking. Totally recommend it and will go back again!

An amazing salon, at a great price. Sometimes you will have to wait for your appointment as they get busy with walk ins but the quality of manicures are great, especially for the price. My go-to spot after trying others in the area.

Did a pedicure there with shellac. Cuticles weren't touched, the soles were not fully cleaned , still see dry skin. The shellac application is not straight , doesn't cover all corners and not up to the cuticle line. 3 stars at best.

I love this salon! Everyone is so nice and I have been going here for years now! I always get this French Ombre Sparkle bio gel on my hands then I mix up with different shellac colours on toes! Definitely recommend! My go to place!!

Not very good quality of work, I got a biogel refill and less than a week later they cracked and chipped on 3 nails. Place was also pretty expensive considering it was a refill. Not worth the money.

I went for the first time 2 weeks ago. Jessy did my pedicure and bio gel nails with light green sparkle powder. I love them!!! The place is super clean, smells great and the staff is very friendly.

Won't be coming back. Although I was grateful that they took me without an appointment, the shellac manicure was rushed. It's only been a week and 3 nails are ruined -- they're peeling off already.
