Very bad experience with this place. We were looking for wedding bands and were specific about the karat we wanted. After seeing a few options, I decided to go for a jacket type for me. It was on sale, which seemed too good of a deal, so I asked about the karat of it as I couldn't read it even with my glasses on. We were told the ring was 14k, and the seller kept talking about how great of a deal it was. We trusted we were getting what we wanted, just to find out at home that it was not 14k, but 10k. Our wedding was coming soon, and we explained this to the sales lady, the day we were buying the rings. She said we could send my husband's ring for resizing and that it was going to be ready to pick up in a week, which was perfect timing. When we went back, they told us it never takes a week, but 2 at the least. With our wedding coming soon, we started to panic about not having the ring on time. After all, the ring arrived just 2 days before the wedding. It was still on time, yes, but we didn't have to go through that worry and stress after being told one thing , and then the opposite. The bigger issue was with my ring. The salesperson said that this one needed to be custom-made in my size due to the setting on it and that I had to return it after the ceremony to be able to order the new one. We agreed to this,but when we went back to make the return and order it in my size, we were told that they didn't know why we were told this, as the ring was discontinued and ordering a new one was not possible. The sales lady was having a few words with the assistant store manager insisting that it could be done and that all they needed to do was to email the head office. According to her, it could be ordered with no issue, but the assistant store manager called her apart, and we had no idea what was being said. After their private talk, we were told that emailing the head office was not going to help. Just like that! Instead, they offered a similar ring with fewer, but bigger diamonds at a price almost 3 times higher "with a discount" for the troubles. For us, it wasn't about paying more or less for a different ring. It was about the lies we were told just to get a sale done. 2 weeks after our wedding, I found myself returning my ring and taking my business somewhere else, as there was not much effort on the store side, to fix what they did wrong.

Warning to others, do your research about this place and what the diamond clarity levels mean. Our sales representative was amazing and found us the PERFECT ring! But within 3 months of the purchase, we noticed was looked like a large Crack in the diamond. We put the ring away for a couple weeks as we knew we couldn't make it to the store to get it fixed yet. When we finally were able to take it in (as we had purchased the 10 year warranty) they sent it off to get repaired. 2 weeks go by and then the manager had called to notify us that the diamond was not being replaced due to it a "natural inclusion". I thoroughly inspected this ring and there was NOTHING in the diamond when it was purchased, how did this happen in 3 months? Look at the pictures, would you buy a ring that looked like this? In the end the manager when questioned about the warranty and was told these cracks were NOT in this ring when first purchased, the manager just repeated herself that it was a natural inclusion and if it was a crack she would have had it replaced. Absolutely NOT impressed with this whole situation or my ring as of now. Please do your research before making a purchase.

Very disappointed. I had great help at first, I was told my ring would be back in the store by two weeks, I did not receive a call so I inquired about the status of the ring, which I was told Monday or Tuesday it would be ready. Nothing again, so I called on Wednesday and I called for an update, told it would be in Thursday and ready to grab Friday. At this point it would make it three weeks since I purchased the ring, so I decided to go in and once again I was told It would be another week. The reason was because thanksgiving is coming up and now they are backed up. Now that’s where I have a problem. I purchased the ring almost a whole month before the holiday. I’m unhappy with the lack of care they have for their customers, as well as I have to wait double the time I was told. When they asked if had something planned and needed it sooner, I responded “yes” which in return all I got was “sorry”. It did not feel genuine at all. I had a plan for Thanksgiving and buying it a month in advance I was told it would be back sooner than that. Sadly that was a lie. Once again I’m disappointed with the service and I would recommend going to another store.

My husband and I were looking for diamond stud earrings for my birthday. We made two stops at St Vital mall. First at Michael Hill. The SA there was nice, but the clarity of the diamonds he was showing us were HORRENDOUS. They looked almost grey, were so cloudy, and didn't have any natural sparkle. They were "marked down" from $600 to $300, but I wouldn't have paid $1 for those. I also asked where they were sourced from and he had no clue. Second stop was Charm diamonds, the SA there seemed not as cheerful in comparison- still very nice, but more reserved. I guess you don't have to fake cheerfulness when your product speaks for itself. We ended up buying GORGEOUS diamond studs, same number of carats as MH, for $550. Oh, and they were certified Canadian diamonds as well. This experience has taught me that a big fancy store with a big name means nothing without quality products. I wouldn't shop at Michael Hill again.

Unfortunately I do not recommend the products with Michael Hill if you are shopping for a wedding band or especially engagement ring. Even though the prices are cheaper and I love my wedding band. The warranty we purchased for the wedding band has a lot of hidden claws such as one ring sizing and rhodium plating per year. Peoples and Appelts has a much better warranty. As well as I was told I could solder my engagement ring that was from peoples with the wedding band from Michael hill without it affecting my warranty, but then I told the sales lady I was going to have peoples do it, she told me it would void my additional warranty that I already purchased. Much simpler process with no head aces dealing with the other jewellers.

What amazing staff! It was my daughter's anniversary and her husband called ahead of time to let them know I was coming in to get a necklace on his behalf. They were expecting me and went over all details of the necklace that was picked out. The store was very clean, merchandise was clear to see and many beautiful jewelry items to choose from. The staff even agreed with one of my suggestions to not ask such personal questions in public where other customers can hear your answers. This is not the only store who does this but inviting to know they agreed and would find a solution.

I will never shop at this store ever again. I wanted a pair of post earrings cost $89.00 the associate suggested if I spend a hundred dollars I would be entitled to a discount so, i added another $25.00 purchase, I didn't checked my receipt because I trusted her. When I got home looked at my receipt there was no discount, I phoned the store sthe associate tells me that there's a discount showing on their receipt. She promised to look into it and get back to me but todate haven't heard from anyone.

First and last impression, manager is not professional at all, they do not care about customer retention, Would not recommend purchasing from Michael hill, all the reviews are correct, shady operation, warranty is a sham, cracked diamond they say is a natural inclusion. I've Had it for 3.5 months. They've had for 2 weeks and couldnt even clean it. Now my fiance and I are stuck with an ugly engagement ring. Go to an actual jeweler for your jewelery. Talk about an expensive learning experience.

I had got a ring sent away to get cleaned, resized, and prongs fixed on January 10th. My understanding was that I would be able to have it back by February 14th for obvious reasons. However after not receiving any phone calls I waited another week and then finally went to the store on the 27th to hear that they in fact have had my ring for awhile and never bothered to call me. Just overall disappointed in the service though the ring came back looking good.

Sales representative is extremely pushy. Don't stop for an engagement ring here. Buy the Diamond at Brilliant Earth for 1/2 or 2/5th of the price and then get it done at a gold smith. Save yourself thousands. This place is junk diamonds that they try to pawn off as good, and then they argue with you when you give them any push back.

One of the better A&W's in town. When you order a mug of root beer the mugs are taken out of a small freezer just behind the counter. When the server pours the root bear the mug immediately frosts up and a thin layer of root bear ice form on the inside surface of the mug. The perfect mug root beer everytime!

Found one of the sales person arrogant and lacking knowledge when it came to automatic divers watches. They thought my professenial Seiko divers watch was a cheap 50 meter version of a 200 meter one. Can not recommend for divers watches. I had been looking to replace my Oris divers executive watch

Please don’t buy or get anything repaired from this location they make the things worst than before and on top of that they don’t want to accept the things that are damaged by them (pictures clearly shows chain wasn’t damaged that much before ) ridiculous service

Staff seems to judge based on appearance. Had a few encounters… when I’m done up I got decent service. When I showed up disheveled because I was recovering from illness, I had to approach different staff members for assistance and was directed to cheaper items.

This place is awful to shop at I bought a necklace for my cousin's wedding then they didn't go through with it I bought the necklace 35 days ago and they wouldn't take it back even though it was unopened Never shopping here again
