BUYER BEWARE! Absolute garbage jewelry & terrible customer service! Do not buy jewelry from this company!! I haven't even had my engagement ring for 5 years and I am diligent in getting it checked every 6 months. My ring is also rose gold, which is supposed to be very strong as it is mixed with copper & pure gold. I have lost 2 diamonds already! Friday September 9th, I had it checked and the sales person told me 8 claws needed to be retipped for about 200-400$. I received a quote for almost 1100$ from another sales person several days later who chuckled and said "it's a very big number". I am extremely careful and take very good care of my ring, so I find it very hard to believe that all 64 claws are worn after only 4 years. The same jeweler who fixed my ring in 2021 is the same one telling me all the claws are flush to the stones so clearly the jeweler Michael Hill uses does not put out quality work or they are scamming people out of money, I'm sure the jeweler gets a cut every time...I've spoken to several other jewelry companies who all tell me claws shouldn't need repair for at least 6 to 10 years. Customer service is utterly useless! Email after email telling me "Sadly I myself, nor our customer service team can provide you the resolution you are looking for as we do not have any discretion with these matters"... what is the point of your customer service then! I am extremely regretful I purchased my engagement ring from this company, I will be telling everyone I know about my horrible experience. Michael Hill has ruined the should be amazing experience of wearing my engagement ring. I am very disappointed in your company and will never purchase anything from Michael Hill again. I have been wearing my ring & have had zero problems. The extended warranty was also never offered at time of purchase. Just another way they scan money out of customers. And having read other reviews, clearly they do not care about giving any sort of decent customer service. Terrible company! UPDATE March 2023 I have been wearing my ring on a regular basis and have had zero problems, I have also taken it to two other jewelers who tell me nothing is wrong with it. So this just tells me Michael Hill and the company that fix their jewelry are completed scammers! Stay away from this company!

Terrible customer service, had an issue with a recent purchase. They advised me upon bringing the item in that I could have purchased extended warranty. I was never told of the option at the time of purchase and asked to have it added, but was told I was 1 day past the 30 days. I asked if it would be possible to have it added as it wasn't offered initially, I was told a manager would contact me. Never received a call, called back myself twice and my calls were never returned. Besides all if this they never called to say the item had come back from being repaired. I found out as I placed another call just over a month after bringing it in, to be told it had been there about 3 weeks. The staff were rude and claimed they had phoned, not sure who they called, but it wasn't me. A manger finally reached out to me, he talked to the regional manager and the best offer they had was the ability to purchase the extended warranty. The store manager offered me a $20 in-store credit, but after this experience why would I make another purchase and I regularly get email offers for $20 off of purchases. Michael Hill, we're happy to take your money, but don't expect anything after that.

These all are because of the sources..When you as a company hiring non correct individuals in non correct positions what more you could expect ? when you have the worst managers with the worst demonstrated working history , who got kicked out of their previous jobs to be hired in your team as superiors, shop managers, and regional managers with ZERO JEWELRY INDUSTRY SKILLS and backgrounds, as many of them used to be waitresses or insurance sellers, or came from telecommunication backgrounds to participate and become the main reason in these creative chaos , again what else you could expect ?! solve the sources first so you'll have it all solved..

I order a necklace from them, they say I'd get it within 10 days. A month later I get it, and it looks horrible, nothing like it looked like when they showed me on their monitor. So then I had to wait another month for them to fix it. All that over a simple necklace with 3 initials on it. Of course, they try give you the illusion that everything is fine and dandy with those smooth talking salesmen. They always say they'll call right back, but they must've only called me twice during the whole two months, I was always the one calling them! And then when it finally arrived, they never called me, I walked in to check if it was there and it was. I made the mistake of paying for the necklace in full right when I ordered it. Once they have your money, they don't care about anything else. Michael Hill is a selfish, unreliable business, and I'm never going to deal with them again.

Pretty awful place to buy your jewelry.... It is quite pricey compared to every other jeweler on the market. The quality of most of the rings my fiance and I were looking at seemed to be lacking. There is one or two nice people, but the rest of them are just rude and judgmental. I called and asked a question, got an answer.. which then someone told me later was wrong, and then I was told later that THAT person was also wrong. Nobody is trained or knows what they're doing. Only saving grace is that after filing a huge complaint, the store manager took me for coffee at second cup to talk about what happened and try to rectify it.

First time buyer at Michael Hill. I purchased a white gold chain for several hundred dollars as a 40th birthday gift. It broke 6 weeks after purchase. When I returned to St Vital, the rep told me that I should have purchased the warranty and it would be $90 to fix it. She said that they “sell several thousand chains every year and can’t go around fixing them for free.” I will never shop here again. I will recommend Appelts though, they fixed it for $40. And they don’t have warranties, they would have fixed it for free if I had bought it there in the first place.

If I could give zero stars I would, I’m so mad. I recently purchased a ring for almost 5.5k it went to get sized. I found out it couldn’t be sized to what I wanted, they offered me a different ring that I don’t like. I asked for a refund and they are telling me I can only exchange. It hasn’t even been 2 weeks, it also hasn’t been sized to my size, I’ve also never actually received the ring. So why not give me the refund. I’ve found a different ring at a different store and I can’t even get it until I get a refund.

Terrible customer service. An engagement ring my husband bought from here broke after 4 years. We brought it in to be fixed and they agreed. 2 weeks later they called and said to pick it up. My husband arrived and they THEN told him they wouldn’t fix it because of a new policy they can’t fix 3 point rings? They not once apologized and also accused us of “cutting the ring”! We have spent a ton of money here and that made no difference to them. We will tell everyone about this bad experience.

Last year I purchased a gold chain, and a cross for it from Michael Hill. It was for my grandson's 13th birthday - and I knew I would have to get something more expensive that would last. The help was so good - I wish I remembered his name - but he was an amazing sales person (At the KP store) and helped me pick out something that would suit the finer build of my grandson. I didnt want something that overwhelmed him when he wore it. He loved it - and I was so thankful!!

never shopping here again, got a bar necklace, don't remember being offered extended warranty and went back 2 months later to get it engraved and a simple clean and was charged just over $200 for it, i told them to send an email if needed to contact me as i work full time and can't answer the phone. no emails, just 2 voicemails, very disappointing

I reserved an item online. Went to the store and the staff I talked with does not know what an online reservation is, she keep on telling me she does not know what I am talking about. Another staff does not know ongoing promos in their store, he told me to show him a proof of this said promo which they should have known from the start.

the one male daytime staff I dealt with for ring sizing .. seemed as if it was his first day on the job. He made it very hard for me to decide what to size my ring at , as I never wear jewelry & wanted some knowledgeable advice.. but there was none to give unfortunately :(

Bought a ring here that repeatedly broke. Trying to get replacements and communicate with the staff proved to be such a headache we just gave up. They all have different excuses and stories and good luck trying to get the manager or a staff member to call you back.
