Very Unsatisfied Don’t recommend this place.. Decided to go here because my daughter who is on the Spectrum had been to a melonheads before… kind of felt a lil rushed while there .. hair dresser didn’t ask if I wanted her hair styled after or anything just cut & go .. anyways my daughter usually gets upset when getting her hair cut . This is the first time she was soo well behaved & calm .. didn’t notice till I gave her a bath that her Cut is OFF. Wish I would’ve noticed & said something right away .. We drove an hour to get there. Anyways guess I won’t be going back.. ALSO they said that they have experience working with children with autism .. I DONT THINK SO .. the hairdresser with white hair kept telling my child to look down while Cutting her hair … Like Hello she has autism & is non verbal. Hairdressers have cut my child’s hair amazing even while she’s having a fit in the past.

I took my 15 months old son for a haircut there. It was not a good experience for either of us. I told the hairdresser to only cut the hair in front of his eyes and a bit back but she cut so much hair unevenly. I was so upset; my kid was crying a lot too and I told the hairdresser few times to stop for a break and she wouldn’t listen just tried to cut as much hair as possible without checking if they are even etc and spent as little time as possible (probably less than 10 min); she also told us to come back in a week for a free haircut if we were not happy but after all this I didn’t want to relive this experience or make it even worse.

Brought my 2.5yr old in for her first cut. We wanted bangs and a light trim to even out the bottom. Debbie came recommended, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. Debbie was kind, took her time, and did a lot of “mom check-ins”. I was pretty nervous and was bracing for the worst, but my kid walked out of there looking very adorable. Debbie even showed us a cute way to style a pony, gave us a certificate for the first cut (with a lock of the hair, which I requested), and put a loonie in the mechanical horse for a quick ride post cut. Overall I felt very well looked after.

We took our one year old for his first cut and were understandably nervous. But we felt well taken care of, once there. Gordana was super quick, and made the experience as painless as possible. We got to pick a chair to sit in and he loved the steering wheel. She also gave him a toy to play with while he was scared if the shaver. It is a bit pricey, but worth it in my perspective. Plus, we visited on a Sunday afternoon and they spaced out appointments so that everyone felt comfortable and not too crowded.

First time here , booked for the experience. Was not impressed , not greeted,people weren't that friendly not engaged with the kids, just rushing the cut. And I had to let them know certain areas she missed or had to line it up. I understand it must be challenging to offer kids haircuts but you also have to play the part and interact with them and engage with them so they can feel comfortable. Best part for my son was riding the horse ride as they give you a looney and he loves seeing the different cars

Took my 2.5 toddler (boy) here for his first hair cut. They took us in right away, no waiting. The hairdresser was fast and good with my kid but the hair cut was not exactly how I wanted his hair to be. One side seemed to be short than the other. I did addressed it to the hairdresser but she made up some excuse. I just shrugged it off since my son was getting a bit antsy. The hair cut alone was a bit much, $35. I get it though, since they have those cool chair for the kids to sit and stay calm.

Brought my 2 boys here for their first cuts, I specifically said not to cut too much off, just a trim and shape away from the face. & they took away all of their hair! I am so mad and they styled it with gel so we couldn’t see how bad the cuts actually were until we came home and washed them. My youngest looks like he has a bowl cut and it’s just horrible. They also didn’t take their time at all, was finished in 5 minutes and my boys didn’t even move, so they can’t blame it on the kids.

My daughter (3) recently had her first haircut... And I remain SHOCKED at how easy and fun the whole experience was. My daughter is ASD and generally dislikes having her hair brushed or styled, yet here comes the magical Gordana (who I think must have used some sort of witchcraft?) and managed to cut and style my daughter's hair without so much as a whimper of complaint. Not one tear! Not one whine! Seriously, magic. 10/10 will go back!

This is the best salon for kids and toddlers. I took my 2 year old here for haircut. The lady, first, made her comfortable with bubbles and cartoons and once my daughter was all settled, then only she started with the haircut. I forgot to ask her name but she was best at her job, was considerate and also taught me a cute hairstyle to go with my girl's new hairstyle. Will definitely choose this salon again for my kid's haircut

My son's first hair cut went as smooth as could be! No crying no hassle! The lady was super kind to us which ment a lot seeing that we aren't the most traditional looking, young parents and that throws a lot of people off. She did a fantastic job. It was super affordable, awesome location and all around just prefect. We are coming back for all of our sons haircuts until he grows out of this place!!

Our almost 4 years old got his first professional haircut today in this salon. What a great experience it was! Rudina was so and kind and accommodating. He didn’t cry at all during the haircut. There was a minor incident and Rudina expertly handled the situation and gave us solutions and advice. So glad we chose this place. Hopefully we will be regulars here.

Debbie did a wonderful job cutting my 21 month old son's hair! She listened to what we wanted and didn't cut it too short which was a concern of mine. She kept him calm and comfortable with her soft-spoken words and gentleness. It was his first real haircut and because of Debbie's great skill we will be coming back for future cuts! What a great experience.

They are good at handling kids that cry like anything. I forgot the name of the woman who gave my son a haircut, from the time he sat in the chair to the end of the haircut, she was engaging and entertaining my son so much so that he didn't even know he had a haircut. I am a regular customer here and will continue my support in the future.

Truly Terrible experience. The hair dresser was awful with my four year son. He has a fear of going to the hairdresser and while he was crying, she told him to stop crying and that he had no choice. She was rough with him trying to stop him from moving. After 10 minutes, she gave up without finishing the haircut. Never going to return.

My son had his 1st haircut there this weekend. We love the cut and they did a great job even though he was crying. They gave him bubbles to play with and turned him towards the TV to distract him. They gave us a certificate with a bag of his hair as a keepsake. They do their best to make it a great experience for both kids & parents!

Our 2 yr old only had what we would consider to be a bang trim and we were charged for a full hair cut. Feel we overpaid for what she had done. Stylist insisted on cutting hair a certain way and ignored my wife's request. Cut ended up being uneven. Staff was very strict on not touching the toys unless you buy.

Brought my son here because he use to be so sacared of getting haircuts. This salon is especially geared for children, from the chairs to the decorations. All the hairdressers have lots of experience with children of all ages . Now my son is comfortable getting haircuts be he still loves coming here.

Both experiences have been fantastic. I tried 3 other places before Melonhead and I won’t go anywhere else. They do a fantastic job, make it fun, and are SO GOOD with the kids. My guy is 1 1/2 and squirmy, talkative, active. They are quick and effective. Highly recommended. Before and afters

My son just had his first hair cut here and Gordana did a great job. She cut his hair quickly, but also professionally. My son was calm the whole time and it was a very nice experience overall. They even give you a certificate and some hair to keep for a first hair cut, which I appreciated.

Anu did a wonderful job with my two boys!! She was so kind and patient with my 4 year old who has sensory issues and this was his first professional haircut. She also did great with my one year old! Highly recommend her as well as all the lovely staff there that we were in contact with :)

Had an appointment at 10:20 today. Showed up at 10:15 only to be told they are running behind 40 minutes as they are short staffed. I understand running behind, but a phone call or a heads up would have been nice as I am bringing in a baby. Very nonchalant about other people’s time.

Our hair dresser was in a rush even when there were no other clients waiting. She just did not give my partner time to park and arrive to give her some suggestions on how he wanted it cut. With all the cars and toys, it’s just a fun place for kids that gives generic haircuts.

I cannot describe enough how happy I am to get my daughter to Gordana for the haircut. It is as if she knows her way around the kids and make haircut as a fun activity. My entire family adores this salon. Kudos to you Gordana and thank you for being considerate always:)

Excellent service! Went to the Thornhill location for my 8 months old baby’s first haircut. Mehri was amazing and she did such an awesome job. Baby was moving his head but she managed to do a proper haircut in 10-15mins. Very happy with the overall experience.

The experience wasn’t bad. They were super nice. But my sons hair was hacked off. I’m so sad. He had a lord farquaad cut, and so we needed to fix the year of mommy cuts with something a bit more fresh. We were hoping for a cute little bowl

This location wasn't nice. She cut my son's hair too fast, like it was judgment day, she didn't even comb his hair while cutting, she used her hand. This location is a toy store with actors playing barbers. She tried to keep his sides

We took our son for this first professional hair cut. Even though it was his first time we are surprised that it went almost smoothly. A big shout out for the lady who handled him professionally. Would definitely recommend this place.

This was my first time going to this place and my kids hair looks horrible. Staff are unexperienced and salon is dirty. I would not Recommend to anyone and I will never be going there again. Definitely a waste of money.

The stylists are always kind and patient with children of all ages, and help to make it a positive experience — especially now under new circumstances. I always make an appointment ahead of time to ensure availability.

Bad experience- would rate lower if possible. The hairdresser seemed to be in such a hurry to get done with the haircut. Had to show her where she had left hair untouched- the whole haircut just looks off.

Happy to take my little one to get her haircut. She was crying at first and then slowly warmed up to it and the colour decor and ships make the experience a tad easier for kids.

Great experience, although it looks as if she can be rough but Gordana was quick and my 5 year old is neurodivergent and he did well with her.

Super quick for my son’s tiny attention span and very long and shaggy hair. They have tv playing and the fun seats make a huge difference!
