I dropped by on a Monday in October 2022 around noon. They had many different beautiful gourmet flavours, which all looked very high-end. I bought four. The lemon ricotta was my favourite. I removed one star from my rating for two reasons: First, at a bit over 4 dollars each, these donuts are definitely expensive. (Note they are about the same size as a Tim Hortons donut - they are not huge like Suzy Q’s.) Second, they are actually a bit dry if you eat them right out of the box. You have to take them home and microwave them, which makes them perfect. These are not the fluffy kind of donut that you can buy at Suzy Q or even at Tim Hortons. They are the caky, old-fashioned kind that our grandmothers used to make. When I served the apple caramel one, after microwaving it for 12 seconds, to my husband, he actually said it was the best donut he ever had in his life! So, yes, I think we will be back.

My second review : Fresh and yummy donuts+ amazing fritters. Quick service. Clean store. Staff interaction is a hit and miss. Edited past review: I had 1 bad experience 10 months ago and had reviewed the store a 1 star for accepting an advance from me and not providing the order for over two days after which I gave up and decides never to go back. The owner assured me that it was a miscommunication and it would never happen again. I did go back after 10 months and everything seemed fine. No miscommunication and great food as always. Our prior experience with the store may truely have been a one off, a miscommunication. Thank you for helping us have a good experience again.

We ordered our wedding desserts through Mavericks Orléans and they were a total hit! Working with Matt was a dream. He was super helpful and very kind. We even received a congratulatory/well wishes email from him. That was very thoughtful and shows that the sweetness at Mavericks isn’t just in the donuts. Thanks Matt and team!

Been there twice. First time was the day after it opened. Went early afternoon. There were almost no doughnuts. The owner suggested we come early in the morning to get the better selection. Sorry, friend , but going for a doughnut doesn’t work that way. Neither does running a retail business. Second time, today. Bought four doughnuts at the usury $4 each. They were stale. Like the guy in the review earlier said, these aren’t even as good as the grocery-store-bought ones in the plastic containers that sit at the cash. Two strikes.

Went out to try the donuts yesterday was waiting in line and noticed the gentleman behind the counter using the same tongs to pick up every donut the customer ahead of us was ordering now I wouldn’t have an issue with such procedure but when people don’t eat pork and the tongs are used on the maple bacon donut it kind of stops one in their tracks from ordering my husband and I turned around and walked out and will continue going to your biggest competitor in Suzy Q who use different tongs for said donut

Will never go back. My husband decided to take our kids for a donut at 5:15ish this evening. They walked in and the person working there met them with “can’t you tell we’re closed” in a very unfriendly manner. So my husband asked what time they closed. The response: there is a sign in the window that tells you what time we open and what time we close. This place has 100% lost our business. How about a simple, “oh I’m sorry, we’re closed”, instead of sounding annoyed when a customer walks into your shop.

Great donuts! I went in on Saturday during their soft opening and was so impressed with how clean and organized the space was. The donuts were amazing, fresh and the flavours are out of this world. The owners were on site and were clearly proud of their product and are working so hard with the team to provide the best service and quality donuts. To those naysayers, go back in a month and rewrite your review. Leaving a poor review in the first week because the business is selling out is just not fair!

Have made 2 visits. Lined up at the start of the day during their opening week last week and walked right in today just after 11am. Staff are friendly and service is great. The Maple-Bacon is the best in town. Lemon Ricotta and Key Lime are also favorites. So great to see a new business sell out 5 days straight on opening week. Don't be disappointed if they are sold out! It just speaks to the quality and demand for fresh made product. It's totally worth a trip back. Great job, Kevin & crew!

  • Ken Landry

Just tried a variety half-dozen and wasn't impressed. The flavours are muted, the donut too fried/crunchy. Some of the signature flavours from the website weren't even available. I think they need to tweak some things before I'd go back. Expensive for what you get. Also, take note of the reviews that talk about the staff being nice. While this is a good thing and I agree, too many people are talking about the people over the food. Kind of a red flag really.

Let's start with the good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Great location. As far as donuts go it's either this or timmies. However they are nowhere near worth the price they charge. 22$ for 6 donuts. For that price the novelty runs out really really fast. Let's face it Ottawa will never ever be new York city. No matter what we try to do. From the brick oven pizza to the cheesecakes and now the donuts. We overprice and underwhelm every single time.

Early afternoon one girl working had very little selection the girl was good service but the donut selection was bad not even half the donut no fritters and way over priced I paid 40 bucks for left overs donut I would suggest you go to anywhere but hear mc donalds and tim hortons both sell donut with way more selection and fresh if this is where you go you will be very disappointed

  • Basem Awwad

These donuts are amazing! Super soft, very light but not empty inside, its the perfect texture. The flavors were great, the Oreo ones are something I've never tasted at any other donut shops, you can tell they are fresh. Their other flavors are just as fantastic and unique. The family loved the donuts, perfect for a birthday, work event or party… I highly recommend.

First time visiting, we were gifted a box during the summer and HAD to go! We were greeted right away with a smile and friendly service. The donuts are so delicious I seriously could eat a whole box!

Decided to stop by today and omg it did not disappoint! The girl was very friendly and helpful. Costed me $22 for 6 donuts but they are totally worth the treat and price. Each one of them were amazing, had to try a piece of each of course. They are not overly sweet, they have the taste of a "homemade" donut. You need to go!

  • Julie Barratt

Not sure what all the hype is. Store is underwhelming and holes patched but not painted. The donuts were dry, raw bacon and the flavors were off. I'd rather Tim Hortons hands down. What a waste of money and it seemed like someone trying to sell homemade donuts for over $3 each but it's a fail on taste and looks.

  • Shyanna Morel

these donuts are a must try. The classics are like what Grandma used to make! I thought maple bacon was my favorite, but you must try the strawberry shortcake. I WILL BE BACK TO TRY MORE !!! The best part of these donuts are baked the same morning, you get them. So you do-nut get a day old donut like Tims

  • mimi b

Love that you have a few vegan donut flavours but you need to make more as they sell out too quickly. Four vegan donut flavours available, but by far the walnut one is way better than the others. I encourage you to add more flavours and have more available. Long line up even if you preorder and prepay.

  • Derek Lahaie

Lovely place which is in a convenient location for me to walk and get donuts. Everything is always clean with friendly staff and welcoming owners, Kevin and Mike. A lovely place to go, one of my favourites is the Oreo Nirvana. It pairs very well with their morning owl coffee! I will go again.

  • Melanie Aubut

Not worth the hype, the glazed donuts aren't even glazed on the bottom part. They don't taste fresh and are very stale. Theres barely any glaze on the donuts. Wasted 40$ on a box of 12 donuts, disappointed. It was my first time going and my last. Tim Horton's are much better.

  • Raquelle Small

This location is by far the worst! Low selections, service was horrible, took 5m for someone to come out and help us and then they vanished to the back and never came back out. Super strange. Got the lemon ricotta donut. It's different. Nice light flavor.

  • Dave Pierre

Did a taste test with some friends between donuts from mavericks , Tim’s , Suzy q and donuts from shoppers. The winner was mavericks . We tried and like the following winning donuts: Boston cream ,apple fritter and maple bacon donut, all from mavericks

  • Erica Jovel

My first time having them - we thought they tasted burnt. All of them came this way, so I wonder if this is just the recipe that they use or if the entire batch was just burnt. Either way, we probably won't order again because it wasn't very tasty.

  • OnceApawnAtime

1st time here! Staff was very friendly. Some donuts delicious and fresh, some dry. I agree with other reviews, 25$ for 6 donuts, too expensive. Location I find a bit odd - Great donuts, Great service, odd location, wayy too expensive.

  • Eric M

Just not worth it. Even if these were 1$ each, I wouldn't suggest wasting your money. Had high hopes, and I was truly disappointed today. They do not taste fresh at all, and tasted like they were overcooked....22$ for 6 donuts....

  • Dinah Davis

We were the first customers at Mavericks Donuts in Orleans. Staff were very friendly. We promptly bought a dozen donuts to try as many flavours as possible. No donuts disappointed, but my favourite was the fritter and maple bacon!

  • Peter Woelders

I see other reviews saying this shop is expensive, and while it is not particularly cheap by any means, it's worth the price. The donuts are great, the coffee is excellent and the staff all seem to be very polite!

  • Michelle B

Love this new addition to orleans! The staff is great, and we have always had a great selection of donuts. I love the different flavours and new additions / changes all the time. Keeps us coming back!

  • Susan Boisclair

I’m so disappointed in this business. 3 times I have gone out of my way to visit and 3 times they were closed. Most recent Aug 24 at 11:00 am. Their flashing sign says open, but the door is locked.

  • George M

Great doughnuts, always fresh and tasty. Good selection and a treat on a weekday or weekend morning. A little pricier than your average donut shop, but you get quality product! Highly recommended!

  • Rachel P

Staff were amazing. Courteous, polite and helpful. Donuts looked great and mostly tasted amazing. Only negative was the Oreo donut tasted strongly of either or lime.was still ok though. …

  • Amanda I

Friendly service and delicious donuts! The cakey texture is so sastifying and the lemon ricotta is my all-time favourite donut in Ottawa. So happy there's an Orleans location now!

  • Amanda Saikaly

Friendly staff and great service! Love taking the kids there for a treat. Donuts are tasty and always have new flavours to try. It’s so nice to have Maverick donuts in orleans.

  • B CL

Great in store experience with friendly staff. Donuts are usually good however consistency is lacking after 5 visits ranging from great texture to bordering on stale.

  • Kevin Carrington

Kevin and his crew came through and set us up with Paw Patrol themed treats for our son's 3rd birthday. They were perfect! Great service and great food!

  • John and Brenda Lawrence

Staff was very nice. While donuts were better than Tim Hortons, I have had better from even grocery stores for a fraction of the price. Disappointing

  • Gennifer m

Awesome selection and friendly staff! One donut is super filling making it worth every dollar !! So glad we finally have a mavericks in Orleans !!!

  • Dina Amir

  • Alec St-Gelais

The staff was amazing and friendly. Service was great. It really makes a difference, this is by far my favorite Mavericks location! Thanks guys!

  • Denis Coutu

Terrible for the price you pay Suzzy Q’s is way better and cheaper too. 44$ for a dozen donuts that’s ridiculous. Never going back there again

  • Zoe Girard

I love that Maverick's opened an Orleans location. I tried their Gingerbread Crumb holiday flavor today and it's one of my new favorites. Yum!

  • Sarah Gillanders

Thank you Kevin and Mavericks Orleans for the donuts for our sons construction theme birthday party! Great communication and amazing service!

  • Debbie Thompson

Donuts were delicious! But my Boston cream donut had no cream in it. Which was disappointing for a $4.75 donut. Fritter was great though.

  • Moe Baksh

Finally got to try a few donut, they were good size not too sweet. My only complain was the price. But you must try them at least once.

  • Dec-Hadden Family

The blueberry Fritter is amazing. It is massive! Probably one of the best fritters I've had in town! Would go back and highly recommend

  • Jesse Lam

I have been there 3 times and have been able to get donuts each time! So lucky and so delicious. Cinnamon sugar is my favorite!

  • Sean McFall

Meh.... tasty but not life altering. You can taste the quality but, ya... $3.95 for a decent donut? I'll opt for a Q. Sorry

  • Alaa Shantaf

The worst and lost expensive doughnut I’ve ever seen! It’s like a normal cheap cake mixture but prices are extremely high

  • Ty M

Donuts were good, not $50 a dozen good but I'd go for a single donut with my kids or gf but I wouldn't buy a dozen again

  • Brianna Jaris

I showed up there because Google business said that they were open until 5, but their door says that they closed at 4

  • Derek Eden

Yuck. Save yourself the tummy ache. And by all means avoid the fake chemical bacon donut. Whatever that is. …

  • Jon Lafleche

I’m sure these would be excellent…if they were actually opened, or had actual donuts. 0 for 3 so far. Eesh
