My recent visit to L'Original Montreal was nothing short of a nightmare. I had high expectations of enjoying the art on display, but what I encountered was utterly appalling.The gallery, at first glance, appeared to house some truly remarkable pieces, setting a promising tone for my visit. However, my optimism soon turned to disbelief as I accidentally touched one of the paintings. To my shock, the attendant's reaction was nothing short of horrifying. Instead of addressing the situation professionally, he lost his temper and subjected me to a tirade of yelling and berating. I was treated with complete disrespect and felt harassed and humiliated. Despite offering a genuine apology for my unintentional action, the attendant's parting words were an uncensored stream of offensive language and curses. It was beyond unprofessional; it was downright offensive.I firmly believe that an establishment dedicated to art and culture should prioritize creating a welcoming atmosphere for visitors. Basic etiquette and professionalism should be the standard, not the exception. Clarity in signage and proper staff training should be non-negotiable. My overall experience at L'Original Montreal was brutally marred by this incident, and it's profoundly disheartening that such a grievous lack of respect overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable visit. I hope the management takes these words to heart and makes the necessary changes to prevent such disgraceful incidents from happening to others.

Great street art gallery in old Montreal! Followed the signs and easily discovered this great gallery, highly recommend for finding local artists. Please note though the owners of the gallery did offer a deal to leave a review in exchange for a pin. We did take up the offer, but the owner was quick to ask for my phone to type in the address and it did feel a bit uncomfortable to have them going through my apps to find what they needed, so give a strong no to handing over your phone if they ask for you! Otherwise a great gallery with lots of street art and very contemporary paintings.

Woo hoo just bought art! Tina Cartier painting in L ‘Original Gallery in Montreal! Update: Thank goodness I paid on my credit card! I paid a extra $50 Canadian to have the painting shipped to my home in the U.S. and it was never sent! I communicated with the gallery and they apologized and then still did not send it! I canceled the charge on my card and never heard from the gallery. I’m totally fine without the painting. But how weird!!!

Magnifique expérience ! J'ai adoré discuter avec le propriétaire qui est un grand connaisseur d'art. Super collection de vêtements designer par les artistes. Aussi, impressionnante sélection de Kimono Vintage. Très professionnel! Je recommande cette jeune entreprise à tout le monde. À voir absolument!

Superbe endroit qui vient d'ouvrir ses portes ! À la fois une galerie d'art, un lieu de rencontre et une friperie artistique qui met en valeur des vêtements vintage retouchés par des artistes. Workshop en soirée et ateliers de poésie, etc... Montréal avait besoin de ça sur l'avenue Mont-Royal !

C’est vraiment une place chaleureuse où tous les artistes peuvent venir s’exprimer. Les gens sont cool et ouvert d’esprit. Il y a aussi beaucoup d’espace et du matériel à disposition ! En plus de ça c’est éco responsable car tous les vêtements que l’on peut costumier sont réutilisés …

Une galerie à couper le souffle ! Un galeriste à l’allure française qui saura vous faire voyager. La galerie met en vedette des toiles atypiques et sorties des sentiers battus où la mélancolie des artistes se fait réellement ressentir. Soyez certains que vous ne manquerez do rian ;)

Petite gallérie super chouette où vous trouverez des jolies œuvres d'artisans québécois! Qui plus est, Dorian et Alpha sont supra accueillants! Avec un peu de chance, vous pourrez même partager une partie de laser game avec eux :)) Ps : Encore merci à Mamy Michèle pour le pins

Beautiful art and paintings everywhere, enjoyed atmosphere and good music. The man working here (Dorian) was very kind, he explained all the artwork and made us feel very welcome in Montreal, as well as helped us find more interesting places to visit during our stay.

we stumbled upon here just seeing the door and hearing the music and needed to go in. it is sooo cool and all the art is unique from local artists!! the owners explained some pieces and made it so much more meaningful. i loved it

This art gallery is something everyone should see. The painting are spectacular and have so much meaning and depth to them. Dorian is an expert when it comes to the back story and meaning of the paintings and well as the artists.

The art here is incredible, works of Nicolas Craig, and Mastrocola are here too. Talk to the man behind the scenes and he'll tell you the history the lead to this place. Buy the are too, with the friendly history lesson.

I only had one day in Montreal and was excited to find this place! The art was very cool and the staff were very friendly and happy to share the history of the pieces.

The street of arts in Old Montreal is very interesting and inspiring. By just walking and absorb the imagination of artists who created those arts is worth my time.

Such a neat (literally) hidden gem. Dorian walked us through some artists and gave us a good chat. Atmosphere is cozy and inviting, will come back on my next trip.
