The staff at the library told me it's more of an community space now rather than a library which is sad but true. There is no where to have a quite space anymore to study and concentrate as people come and go speaking loudly and the library staff are too scared to tell students, who are the loudest of them all, or the general public to be quite. There are no study areas available due to COVID (which we all know is done and dusted now) and it should not be up to individuals to tell others to keep the noise down. The younger staff at the library I have found to be quite rude and not cognizant of peoples personal space. It's sad really because the library is nice with good facilities. Just a pity the staff are spinless in telling others to keep it down when needed.

Great layout and Quiet depending on where you get a seat, but this is where the problems begin. Finding a seat during busy times is a major inconvenience and very difficult to do in a quiet location. They really need to seal off the kids section with an airlock or something because its dreadful. Same goes with the front entrance on the weekend because none of the staff enforce any form of quiet. At the best of times this is a Five star library, however due to the issues that I have stated and how common they are I have to give 2-3 stars with sound cancelling headphones on (Without the headphones don't even bother).

Great facilities but a more stringent policy on keeping the excess of screaming children at bay would be appreciated. Also, warning, the special research room at the back is staffed by an extremely cranky lady. I opened my water bottle to take a sip of water (on a 35 degree day) and was verbally crash tackled to the ground by a barrage of abuse because not even water is apparently allowed in this room - despite the fact that I was sitting at a desk a long distance away from any books or resources. I hope she liked the sticky half-eaten breath mint I left for her on the carpet.

Very nice public library. Lots of reading areas. Good range of book, magazines, CDs and DVDs. All on line so you can reserve and find out if what you want is on the shelf or not before you go in. Books can be returned at any time with outside slot. Staff very helpful. Open until 9pm tonight (Monday). Air conditioning working well. Still had power on but most of Lane Cove blacked out tonight. Very quiet today 1st June 2023. You can borrow magazines but not the current month. I wanted Silicon Chip (electronics) but the current year were all out!!

I've come here three times in the past week and only got a seat with a proper working desk once. The one time I did get that desk, there was a woman who made several phone calls at full volume a few tables away. Staff did nothing about this whatsoever, and the front desk was facing her table. A very clean and polished library with a wide array of books, but people really need to shut their mouths and it feels as if there's never enough tables with how busy this place can get

Amazing service at Lane Cove Library today 13/02/2023. I had to get a contract signed and returned to my new employer with many documents to be downloaded, printed signed and emailed back. The lady at the services desk located where the common user computers are located was incredibly helpful. She made my experience totally stress less, was patient with me and genuinely showed the kind of help that prompted me to have to right this. Thank you enormously.

Great library with a great selection. Their opening hours beats any other library which is the biggest pro. They also upgraded their data usage from 2GB to 3GB which is great too. Kids are sometimes very loud depending on where you sit and they don't really reinforce the kids to quiet down - especially when the kids comes after school. The computers are heavily out of date too.

Gift vouchers for $50 are now available to be purchased at a stall at the ground floor in the Canopy. Organized by Jackie from Lane Cove Council, this morning I was given a bonus gift, a great shopping trolley with the logo: 'LOVE where you SHOP, Lane Cove'. It was good to meet the ladies involved in the project. A great idea for our commercial community.

On top of having an incredible place, media content and services, the staff is absolutely amazing. I dropped my credit card today at the library, someone found it and gave it at the front desk. One of the lady working there brought it to the local ANZ. Such a level oh honnesty and integrity needs to appreciated. I am very grateful for your action.

One of my favourite spots to hang out with the kids. Especially when it's too hot outside. Great facilities, friendly and helpful staff. Awesome kids corner and plenty of quiet nooks with comfortable seating on the opposite side of the children section. Parking has been difficult lately but other than that, it is a fantastic facility!

Great lib, stunning views of lane cove's suburbia, however there must be a technical mistake. The time on google says "closes at 9pm" however the librarian ladies close it at 8:45. What is this mockery? They walk around demanding children to leave, I have to scurry out of there like i've got a large python chasing after me …

The staff are friendly, provide excellent customer service and abide by covid rules. You must show the green tick before you enter. They have screens and the facilities are new and well maintained. There are activities held at the library as well which make it a great place to relax and work. Still a fantastic place to visit.

Very nice library. Would be even better if people stayed quiet. Too many people talking and too many kids running around. I am under the impression that some people think it’s a kindergarten. A lot of people (including staff) don’t take this place seriously. On some days it’s not too bad but on others it’s just intolerable.

couldn't believe here is a "library", huge noise from an adult group event. if you need to study, please go to the plaza, even more quiet there. The most interesting thing is, the staff would not stop the huge noise from the group but they will come to stop the individual who are receiving calls from someone occasionally.

Huge space, lots of study rooms. But the Internet connection is too slow and so is the mobile signal. My mobile most of the time switched to 3G connection so can't use my mobile hotspot either. I've never seen such problem in other libraries. Public library without Internet connection is half useless

  • Maria Kukushkina

A spacious library that is rarely over crowded, generally quiet and there are plenty of tables (with power points!) to sit and do some study. Free wifi; albeit not particularly fast, but adequate for most purposes. Public restrooms nearby. Additionally, staff are friendly and helpful

  • Stephanie Giblin

The upgrade to the library has made it an invaluable resource to the community - there are numerous tables with wifi access useful for study, with a friendly environment - no stuffy silence however it is quiet enough to productively study or read. The staff are friendly and reliable.

Great library. Clean, great range of literature and media to choose from. Gets super busy with schoolkids especially in the second half of the year. Good seating and charging ports and pretty much every single table in the place. Got a lot of quality work done here.

  • Lisa Lobry

Good place for everybody: families, students, seniors... Huge selection or everything (travel, economic, reading book, DVD, kids book, magazine...) They also have a good kids section with nice seats. Good free WiFi also and plugs for computers

  • Brian Atwell

Great library but a good deal of the main library is really a children's play area and not possible to work in even though it is a really nice space. The kids are noisy - fair enough - but the Mother's loudly calling out for them not to run

  • Mark Heuzenroeder

The Telstra mobile coverage is terrible – voice calls and my work VPN on 4G both dropped out many times. This makes it useless for me. Ironic that it’s only a few 100m from the phone exchange (on top of which antennas are normally placed.).

One of the staff member, Margaret was rude. I had accidentally had a sip of water from my bottle but Margaret thought it was OK to be disrespectful of me when it was clearly unintentional. Margaret thought it was OK for her to have a loud

As one gets older, and the amount of money earned increases, one gets familiar with how much one pays in tax. Thus, it seems that one starts off idealistic, not worrying about taxation, and then becomes more fiscally conservative as one

  • Daniel Hawkins

Nice quiet place to study, with a number of dedicated study rooms and good access to power points for keeping devices charged. The inconsistent opening hours are sometimes a slight inconvenience.

  • Andrew Taylor

Spacious library with a huge amount of study space. Knowledgeable staff and easy parking. Whenever I come here it is always quiet and peaceful, compared with some other libraries I go to. A+

  • Laura Bee

Great facilities for studying, with power points for your laptop, charging docks, and even has standing desks. The selection of books is not bad and staff are generally friendly and helpful.

  • DANIEL LEACH

Love to study here! I just wish it opened at 9am. And the kids cry a bit, but over all it’s a pleasant experience. Lots of desk space. The books are always so interesting to browse

  • Benjamin Han

Library is a great place to sit, read and relax. It has a fairly extensive book collection. They also have children areas so it is child friendly. My daughter loves to go there.

  • Bella Adjani

Nice atmosphere and it's always peaceful and quiet when I come in. A large variety of resources and study rooms. Enjoyable library compared with other North Shore libraries.

  • Joanna Powell

A great space to relax. A good choice of books and magazines. Staff are helpful too! My daughter will use the study space for her HSC - good she has somewhere cool to study.

  • Peter Kirkland

This is a very modern library with all the conveniences for students and casual readers. The staff are friendly and helpful.
