It was busy inside and on the patio on a Thursday summer evening when a friend and I dropped in. The wait staff were incredibly busy yet as attentive as possible and so lovely! We had 2 of the virgin cocktails, tacos dorados, and flan for dessert. Everything was fresh, delicious, and a feast for the eyes, too. What a fantastic local neighborhood spot! While there, another table of guests was celebrating a birthday and the staff played a very funny Mexican version of “happy birthday” and brought the birthday girl a big sombrero to wear. Now I know where I’m having my next birthday party!!

This was the best Mexican restaurant that I’ve been to in Ottawa. My friend and I had the chicken tacos dorados the vegetarian super burrito (picture 1), churros and tres leches for desert (picture 2). We also tried a couple of their cocktails. Everything my friend and I had here tasted fresh and delicious. The presentation of the drinks was super fun & they tasted amazing too. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a fun environment with good drinks and food. Definitely a great place to go out with friends or a fun date night. The food was served to us very quickly & the staff was also super nice & very attentive. Lastly, they had really great latin music playing too! Good flavors, small portions, higher prices, friendly service, clean kitchen. It took a while at first to get the waitress to take our order, but after that it was pretty good. When you're hungry though it feels like forever if you're sitting and waiting for the waitress to come over. Most of the food we tried was pretty good, but wasn't enough to satisfy; even though the prices are higher than most places around town. To be fair though the churros were decent size and very tasty (stick to the caramel and ditch the chocolate sauce). Tried the guacamole, tacos, tacos dorados, beans, flan dessert, and churros. Everything was good, but didn't stand out enough to justify the prices/portions. Might come back to try the Super Burrito, but at $20.50 it might not be anytime soon.

It’s “okay” - there’s nothing out of this world about this place. The decor is cute, the servers really try but it’s extremely slow and they move as if they do not want to be there. The drinks are cool and the selection is great. Food is “ok” - You pay the price of a gourmet restaurant to literally get street food… ie $14 for 3 churros I’ve heard some unreal hype about this place but was thoroughly disappointed The reservation system can use some attention as well. Again, the food is not bad… if you’re passing thru the area and want to stop in.

Had an amazing first time experience on Saturday night! I’ve been meaning to come check this place out for quite some time and I’m so pleased I went. Food & drinks were great! Authentic flavours and colourful cocktails • Great quality & value too! Best classic margarita I’ve had in a while. Service was very friendly as well. Our table of two interacted with all the staff; Truly a welcoming vibe where the servers all help each other out…If we needed anything, there was always a server nearby. I would definitely go back!

This is a lovely place with good food and drinks but I find it very expensive compared to other Mexican restaurants in Ottawa, especially for tacos. They don't do Taco Tuesdays either and selection is limited. Their drinks are beautiful and like an art piece but again, pricey. What I will give them though is that they have dishes I haven't seen elsewhere like queso fondito, which was excellent, and their salsa fresca is one of the better ones I've had.

Terrible. (The Margarita was fabulous though!) Unbelievably overpriced for what was served! I was really shocked. The tacos were soggy and tasteless. And tiny! Mine was advertised as ‘with salad’ but the salad was just more of the same shredded lettuce that was plunked on top of the tiny tacos. Not even a little pour of dressing! Everything sounded so exciting on the menu; we took a long time looking it over, trying to decide, but nothing we were served was close to what was described. We left feeling disappointed and cheated.

I want to say "pushed" Mexico theme, as it was trying to hard to generate the theme, but still lovely. Service was okay, at first, the waiter, was the cleaner, and the cook, which lead to slow ordering and no followup, until near the end of our dinner, another waiter showed up. Food was the best part, everything was so tasty! Just a bit more expensive than I was expecting, leaving my wife say "To bad it's so pricey, I would love to keep coming here."

This place has a great and fun vibe to it because it’s a restaurant you can also get up and dance without any shame. The staff is genuinely happy to be there and attentive. The menu has many gluten free options and they clearly stand out on the menu. All the dishes my table ordered (gluten free or not) were great, but the favourites were the virgin lime and orange margarita, Aztec soup and the crunch tacos. Will definitely be returning here for another fun night.

Love La Bonita Restaurant!!! Service was amazing, cocktails were so good, and the nachos were amazing. Great vibe! This restaurant has super cute decor and such a great ambience. The employees were all very nice and made us feel welcomed. The tacos itself tasted pretty good as well and they had lots of different options to choose from which is always a plus. The only downside was the amount of time we had to wait to get our food. Overall, I recommend this restaurant if you are craving tacos.

I was just looking for a place to dine, the vibe of the place got me and OMG! It was amazing! Can I say I had the best taco in here? Yes! Can I say it was authentic? I have no idea! I can just say it was tasty! I loved nacho and my margarita! If I could add more stars I would 100% do it!

Quite good and fast service on a Friday night. The list of mixed drinks was interesting and although the cocktails were a bit more expensive than some may be used to paying, you get your money’s worth in terms of quality. Very nice ambiance for a date night or group setting.

The restaurant is cozy and makes you feel your are in Mexico, the food is great and the ambiance is vibrant as Latin American people are. A bit of delay with the orders and to bring the bills, but other than that I recommend it.

Wonderful ambiance and great Mexican and authentic decorations. Do not miss the chorizo nachos, they are delicious. Soup and the pastor tacos are amazing . Great choice of tequilas and loved the sangria!
