Service rapide, mais surfacturé et mal fait. J’avais une crevaison en revenant du travail. Par chance je passe devant cette boutique et ils acceptent d’effectuer la réparation car je n’avais pas mon kit de réparation avec moi et je ne voulais pas marcher jusque chez moi. Le changement de chambre à air fut rapide (20-25min) mais au moment de payer surprise: 26$ pour un pneu à plat. Ils ont changés plus que ce qui avait été convenu (le ruban a jante) pour augmenter la facture alors que le vélo est quasiment neuf. En remettant la roue, la vis ne fut pas assez serré. Après 5 min de vélo la roue frottait contre le cadre et, faute d’outils, j’ai du rentrer à pied. Éviter cette boutique pour vos réparation ou mieux, ayez ce qu’il vous faut avec vous pour réparer une crevaison.

I brought my bike in with what appeared to be a simple bearing issue, but this was not the case. This shop performed a diagnostic on my bike and identified several other areas in which the bikes performance was lacking. While I was frustrated at first, due to the delay in fixing the original problem, upon speaking with staff it was clear that they were considering my safety and bikes longevity at every turn. When I explained to them I could not afford to complete all the suggested repairs, the shop worked to identify the areas that could be improved that would ensure my safety while riding, while respecting my budget. I can not recommend this shop more, from the care and attention to detail, to their unwillingness to have me leave with a less than stellar bike~! Dave

I wish I could still recommend JR Cycles, I know them for almost a decade, but by now I had one to many bad experiences with them. It’s fine being more expensive than almost any other bike shop in Montreal, I am not hunting for bargains with these sort of services. However, if at the same time you are short tempered and treat people as if they are dull ( experienced it myself AND observed the same directed to other customers) , I will end up looking for another store. And if you refuse to adjust my gears because it happens to be an e-bike, the gears function exactly like any other bicycle, then I won’t choose your store if any of my other “normal” bicycles happen need work.

Très mauvais service et très mauvaise expérience. Le type a attaqué ma fille en disant qu'elle avait pris des choses dans le magasin et quand il s'est rendu compte de son erreur, il ne s'est même pas excusé. C'est un homme très grossier et agressif. Je ne recommanderais pas du tout cet endroit. De plus, ils ont beaucoup d'objets entassés et sales comme la personne qui nous a attaqués. Un vieil homme sans éducation. Professional and fast service with really fair pricing. I'm new to cycling and after my bike kept breaking, getting fixed, and breaking again I was hesitant to keep repairing it at all, and wary of impatient mechanics quoting me unreasonable prices. JR explained all the options to me, what and why needed to be fixed and the pricing for each option. Even spent extra effort repairing parts that he could have easily said were broken and needed to be bought new. Got a basically new bike in only a few days. Amazing service, friendly and thorough, will be back. TLDR: go here for your repair, best service, fast, great prices

I have a very negative experience my last time at JR: when dropping my bike off with a flat front wheel, I directly asked the manager to assess the damage and call me before doing work on it. He agreed. Next call I get is to say that the work is done. Worse, when I get there, I notice that the manager forgot to assess some tire damage I pointed out during the drop-off. I could not wait for the tire to be patched that day, had to come back another time. When I asked the manager to acknowledge his mistake, he refused, told me to pay for the work, and get out of the shop. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Sur une note plutôt personnel ✨ non seulement le travail est bien fait! J'ai rarement vue un endroit où on prend le temps de *discuter avec moi! Quand mon anxiété me fais agire sur mon impulsivité et ma bouche volubile très déplaisante ‍je suis TPL( bpd)*PTSD etc... Je sautte souvent des coches malgrés mes amendements ( escuses) souvent! On me dit de ne plus revenir et c'est la honte! Avec un peux d'empathie et communication la bombe se désamorce. Merci beaucoup pour votre patience . Et vlan! TKS.

Service inconstant... Je vais la plus de 6 fois et des fois le service est bon mais les devis ne sont pas respectés et les demande non plus. Ma dernière visite sera la dernière je vais essayer d'entrouvre un autre. Les réglages demandés ont été facturer mais pas faite correctement, obliger de le faire moi-même. C'est vraiment à vos risques. Vous pouvez avoir de la chance ou pas. Mais si voue en a un qui repart bien et et constant je vous déconseille JR

I haven't owned a bike in over 45 years but, within 2 years, I bought 4 ebikes. I do not have the head nor patience to work with tools. Luckily, La Bicycletterie JR is closeby to make all my repairs or modifications no matter how big or small. These guys are fantastic! Their work is top notch and their customer service is superb! The entire crew is very friendly and accommodating. Thanks to La Bicycletterie JR, this summer is the best I've ever had.

Une bike shop comme on aime, avec plusieurs produit varié et de très bon prix, prenez exemple de la sacoche central pour le porte bagage arrière Arkel, en vente à 145$ sur le site Arkel et la majorité des bikes shop, ici c'est 115$, elle m'est revenu au prix original sans les taxes. Le propriétaire est vraiment smat, chaque fois que je passe par là, j'aime bien lui dire salut, le seul endroit à Montréal après vélo Québec où l'air est gratuite. ;)

All I had was 30 mins before closing time to get there. I was at most 15 mins away from the shop when I got a flat (with 30% battery and far from home). I rushed with my bike in hopes to get service. Surely, I walked in despaired and no questions where asked. Christian grabbed my bike after his long day and made it happen for me. Very professional rental place with reasonable prices! Bicycling is a great way to see Montreal and the rental place is right next to Mount Royal park and other attractions. The only reason we didn’t rent it for longer was because one of us fell off the bike and hurt our knee. Prices are for 4 hours or 24 hours or a week so plan accordingly. We took it out for 5 hours but they were kind enough to only charge us for 4 and not 24 hours!

Incredible! Bought a bike recently for 90 dollars, had a couple of problems and brought here! Much respect to this business that broke down what i was spending my money on and explaining problems that were with the bike. Accueil agréable mais après avoir gardé mon vélo une dizaine de jours on m'appelle pour me dire qu'il n'est pas réparable (roue voilée) et me conseille simplement de venir le prendre au plus vite (moyennant 5$ de frais de travail). La personne au téléphone était plutôt désagréable et ne m'a même pas proposé de juste changer la roue entière. Je récupère mon vélo pour l'emmener ailleurs, tant pis.

I am new to biking and don't know a lot but they helped me with everything. I wanted to change my cassette and chain but the guy checked it out and told me that it was in very good condition and I don't need to change it, further it would be good for the environment too. This is a great shop, they care about the bigger picture rather than making a quick buck. They had everything I needed.

If you visit Montreal it is a must to stop by this shop. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Do not waste your time with the city bikes that you link your phone with as they are a scam. Go to La Bicycletterie JR if you want a bike, you won't regret it! The owner told me that riding a bike is the best way to see the city and he couldn't have been more right.

Best bike shop in the city! Before I had my own bike I rented from here and I was able to find the best bike for my needs out of their assorted colours and styles. Then when I finally got my own bike, I came here to get her spruced up and that was an equally great experience. I will continue to come back for their excellent service, wonderful employees and quality parts!

Employees were great at picking out the parts I needed (I have zero knowledge on tires/tubes). And the guy with the platinum/purple hair was great in giving me instructional advice on how to replace the tube and tire of my bike on my own. Very generous and helpful, I'll be coming back for parts and if need be, service!

Shady and generally unhelpful business, especially the man who seems to be the manager/owner, who is often unnecessarily arrogant. Our first repair took almost two weeks (instead of the 2-3 days we were told) and we were never notified of the delays - we had to call several times to know what our bikes were up to.

Very fair price for a handle replacement. I didn’t have the right tools to fix it, so I asked to borrow a socket wrench - the guy kindly and fairly explained that they can’t do that, which is totally understandable. Only cost me $18 all up. Even on marketplace, you couldn’t find a replacement that cheap

Being an avid cyclist from Vancouver, I was concerned about the quality & reliability of rental bikes. The hybrids we rented here were good spec and very well tuned. Yannick was very helpful putting lights on the bikes for evening riding as well as a tool kit, tube & pump for my long ride. Great shop !

I came in needing a new inner tube, the repairman who helped me (Yannick?) was super fast and really thorough, he even oiled my chains, filled my rear wheel, and checked my tires for cracks. I was done in maybe 10 minutes, and for a GREAT price (~15$). Would 100% come back for anything else!

Brought my relatively old bike to JR's after finding out that most shops don't carry the part I needed to fix my bike. They had the part, fixed it quickly and the price was way lower than what other shops quoted me! Great experience.

Been coming here for years, and honestly they're best bike shop in Montréal. Down to earth friendly people, very fair price (won't rip you off), and can diagnose/fix problems on bikes from most decades with a quick turnaround.

I left my bike for storage in the winter with a tune up. They did not do any tune up the bike was the same as when I left it with a slightly rusty chain, brakes as they were etc yet they charged me for it, I stopped going.

It’s a scam! Do not rent bikes from here. They have really old bikes and charged me $20 arbitrarily. Save yourself money and buy yourself a bike, it’ll be cheaper and not have to hassle with scammers.
