If you come here, be sure to be a confident dog owner who can do your own fact checking, research and advocate for yourself in the info you need. I would need to live within a block away for the convenience to outweigh my experiences here. I brought my dog here seeing the great reviews and perhaps had some bad luck but my overall interactions made me feel uncomfortable or disappointed. The vet tech didn't seem super confident handling my dog. The vet tech and vet both offloaded a ton of info to me at once...which like, fine, you're busy, I get it. When I then clarified a few things to make sure I heard right the vet tech seemed visibly impatient and his front desk colleague stepped in to help explain. In that visit, my ask for more flea, tick and dewormer medication was missed but they did find the energy to tell me all these tests I should do and said I should get a certain vaccine without explaining anything about it other than I should get it. When I called back later to order the medication (Nexgard and Interceptor) the front desk person was for sure not trained enough to be handling such a request even after putting me on hold twice to ask for help so it seems like she's also not getting the support she needs from the vets in the clinic. They don't carry Nexgard but she suggested Revolution so I asked what the medication covered specifically as it seemed to also cover some stuff Interceptor covers from some quick google research. She said sure to anything I said from my research and turns out that was not accurate when I came to pick it up from a different colleague. But imagine if I was picking it up from the same person! In the end she still tacked on Interceptor and Nexgard to my order which her colleague took off so idk what happened there. I still dont have a straight answer as to whether or not I should get Interceptor as well as Revolution but I'm just gonna ask the next vet I go to that... The vet herself I felt comfortable with and seemed pretty no nonsense and more oldschool approach. Said no cheese for my dog right away since his breed is prone to being overweight which is fair, but also... I'm trying to condition him to like the vet from the get go and he's a picky eater. A couple dusty biscuits are not going to do the trick ☠️. So I also get the impression she might not consider a dog holistically if I were to bring that up in a conversation. Which is I'm sure fine for many dog owners, but I hope to find a different approach. They emailed me 3 times to remind me to book the vaccine for my dog but they didnt email me with appointment confirmations or prescription order confirmations. So idk if that reflects their priorities of making more sales rather than the customer or user experience but it kinda seems to.

Updated review for new management that took over a couple years ago. I was skeptical when they took over during COVID, their transition period wasn't a good experience to be honest. The clinic was hectic and disorganized at the start, and sometimes I would wait almost an hour after my pet's appt time to see someone. But over time, there's been so much positive improvement and progress with how the clinic is run. Overall, Dr Grubac, and Dr Radnic do show great care for both my dogs. I find that they often follow-up with a call after a visit just to see how the dogs are which is a great opportunity to ask follow up questions without the appointment. I do find there is a tendency to suggest additional (sometimes expensive) services and treatments during visits, BUT I also find that I can easily have discussions on what is feasible/reasonable with them so no problem there; I think they suggest these things because they care for the animals wellbeing and comfort. The technicians and front staff are really first class, Trina, Christine, and Sarah all have been super kind, accommodating (within reason!) and helpful with questions I have. Prices used to be incredibly competitive and cheap, but are about on par with other clinics now. Receipts are sent via email, and they call/email appointment and vaccine/check up reminders. *** Old review: This review is only for Dr. Koit; I've not had any experience with any of the other doctors, nor is this a comment about their overall customer service, or about the quality of the facility\tech. Unfortunately he is retiring soon - it'll be tough to find someone who is equally as caring and kind to the animals he helps and I wish I'd written this review sooner, but hopefully I can find the same level of ethics in the next vet I find. Dr Koit is incredible - trustworthy with advice, thorough exams, calm demeanor, ethical. I've been to a few other clinics before, the difference is stark - he has never given me suggestions or advice to upsell me, guilt me into getting products, exams, tests, services etc that my dog(s) don't need or are not required. I've had other veterinarians tell me that 'if you care about the wellbeing of your pet' that I need to do as they say and get very expensive procedures that in the end always yield nothing - Dr. Koit just presents facts and allows you to make a decision that don't play on your feelings. He is succinct but never curt in his responses to any questions I have. He's always clear about future prognosis, is always clear about what services will be needed, and always provides enough context around why he recommends, or doesn't recommend a service. Will be greatly missed!

I think I dislike veterinarians more than my cat does … but out of the three clinics I’ve gone in Vancouver, this one was the best experience and might change my mind. The vet answered all my questions and spoke with me several times; he was patient and knowledgeable. He shared the blood panel results with me and was very open with information, didn’t withhold technical details. The examination seemed thorough. The vet techs allowed me to be in the room while they worked, and they were very kind and gentle with my cat. They were able to run blood tests on the spot and return results and a diagnosis to me in half an hour. When I went to the SPCA (which is a good spot but absurdly busy and hectic, sold me extremely expensive food for an issue my cat did not have, and are very challenging with phone lines and booking), they told me my cat would need a sedative - gabapentin - if I were to bring her back, because she was too ornery. At Kingsway vet, my cat got comfortable and even ate some treats in the exam room. I’ve never seen her so relaxed at a vet. I had no problems booking and the receptionist was easy to work with. And when I arrived, the staff were thoughtful about keeping my cat separate from other patients (read: dogs). It still cost me $500, but they didn’t make me feel guilty about saying no to additional treatments and medications that I can’t afford. I will have to go back twice still, and each visit will likely cost another $300. I can’t say that their pricing is any better than anywhere else; every vet seems to cost a fortune for Reasons. However, their base examination charge was in the 80$ range. They were helpful in breaking down the different charges and telling me in advance what things would cost. There was none of the caginess and extra surprise fees that have led me to distrust other vets (like charging $15 to release medical records, or tacking on $20 for writing out a prescription they’d just given vocally - looking at you 1st ave, although I hope you’ve changed your policies) and none of the guilt trips about specific food brands or pet insurance. They just offer the best advice and options they can for your cat. I do wish there were more options that could reduce costs and enable me to care better for my cat - particularly when it comes to routine blood tests or administering routine shots. We don’t all have the luxury of affording huge bills like this, or $250 monthly pet insurance, or $150/month injections … but at least these guys are kind, understanding and straightforward and it isn’t their fault I’m broke. Big bonus that my cat isn’t super stressed out around them.

Such an amazing team at Kingsway Vet Clinic! Called the clinic in panic as my pup had some serious issues and bloody stool. They were fully booked and didnt have time for us on that particular day. They have booked us in for 1st thing next morning but advised me to keep calling other clinics as they didn't feel pup should be left for about 24hrs without seeing someone... To my surprise 15 minutes later I have received a call from them stating that their sister clinic could see us in about an hour and if I was willing to travel. Of course I jumped in on the opportunity and my pup was seen by Dr. Radnic within 2 hours after my 1st call. My pup received necessary meds and was brought back to his original self within hours of receiving meds. This clearly shows me that the team at this clinic is super compassionate and they take great care of animals that come through. At the sister clinic: It has been explained to me with great detail on what is going on with my pup and what Dr suggests to be done. Before they proceeded with anything they broke down the cost to me to see if I was okay with that. Once okayed by me they took pup into the room and dealt with him. Pup was receiving shots and fluids and I didn't hear him yelp once. The assistant even came out before it was the time to withdraw blood to check with me if I am okay with them shaving a bit of his fur. Dr. Radnic called the same evening to check up on pup and again next morning. This has been a pleasant surprise as I did not have this experience with other clinics; usually when you walk out the door they are done with you BUT not with Dr. Radnic; he cares and wants what's the best for your pup. Thank you team for giving Ziggy the best care!!!

I have nothing but amazing things to say about this clinic! My cat is extremely anxious and was fighting me in the car to get back into his carrier after I took him out to calm him down a bit. In a panic, I asked the assistant at the front desk, Sarah, for some help, and without any hesitation, she walked to my car with me, got in right away, and calmly and gently got him into his carrier. Sarah continued this extremely kind and caring demeanor in the examination room, where she fed him all sorts of treats to try and calm him down. Dr. Radnic was also incredibly caring, compassionate, and gentle with my boy, and kept him calm through a thorough physical exam, where he found a few surprises and discussed options for further examination with me. At the end of the exam, he gave my kitty even more treats on a lick mat to praise him for being such a good boy! You can tell that he is a man who is not only extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what he does, but someone who genuinely loves animals and treats every one like his own. In terms of costs, all of their fees were extremely reasonably priced, and the front desk staff were very upfront about every cost, offering to send me quotes before I agreed to anything. I felt so at ease at the end of our visit. I have spent 4-5 years searching for a good vet with no luck, and after our visit today, I'm switching over right away! I have complete trust in this clinic to care for both of my kitties. Thank you again to everyone at the Kingsway Veterinary Clinic!

I adopted a cat last year, and though the adoption agency didn't want to tell me where to take him for vet care (professional discretion?), as soon as I mentioned Kingsway vet they couldn't say YES! GO THERE! fast enough. It was a little eerie... That said, my fuzzy buddy Mr. Fish and I have had nothing but good experiences here. Well, I have at least. Him with the thermometer and the poking and the prodding... eh maybe not so much. Dr. Koit has been super professional each time we've been to see him. While he is quite to the point (as one should be), he has been thorough in his care with Mr. Fish each and every time. He also was helpful in answering my questions, no matter how silly I felt asking them. The front staff are also great, and have been nothing but wonderful to Mr. Fish and I. I would recommend Kingsway Vet Clinic 100%.

DO NOT GO THIS VET. They do not know what they are doing. Unprofessional, no customer service, and just out for your money. Keep finding out hidden fees. We used to go here to see Dr. Paul Koit who was HONEST and CARING. Whoever has taken over this clinic Dr. Radnic and his team are no good. Your pet is in better hands elsewhere. They are going to lose their old customers who were transferred. Nobody picks up the calls, waiting over an hour to get an answer, and they don't care if their customers are happy - laughable. This doctor hanged up on me when I told her I'm not happy with the hidden fees and told them I should have been told this upfront. She said I don't care if you're not happy, it is what it is. What kind of response is that? How unprofessional! Mooches. Never coming back. Good riddance.

The team doesn't answer the phone and when they email to suggest appointment times, they don't confirm the booking afterwards. I was supposed to take my dog in for a blood draw and dental procedure this week, but apparently the time was never blocked off. I managed to get on the phone with an assistant to re-book the blood panel and when we turned up to the clinic, they were confused as to why we were there. The vet conducted a general examination instead (so we could receive a more "accurate dental quote"?). Now we have to go back to the clinic an extra time for the blood draw. Poor communication all around, causing unnecessary visits and wasting time for both parties. The clinic was great when we visited in the past, but this whole experience has left a bad taste in my mouth.

So happy with this vet clinic. Everyone is lovely (both with us and our puppy) and there always lots of treats ready to go to help keep the animals calm. We had a not great experience with another veterinary clinic before finding this one (the vet at the other place just grabbed our puppy without even letting her sniff his hand first, there were no treats available to help ease her stress, and insisted on a rectal thermometer temperature even though she howled- in comparison the vet at Kingsway Veterinary Clinic let her sniff his hand first, had treats and pets ready for her, and stopped with the rectal temperature check when she started to cry and took her temperature from her ear instead). Very grateful to have found this place. 5 stars.

They provided good care, but didn’t have great animal sense. My dog is nervous, but historically does really well at the vet. The doctor at this clinic was really loud and abrupt, and didn’t even let my dog sniff her hand before she started trying to examine her. I suggested giving her some treats to help her calm down and feel more trusting, and the vet reached into the bag and held out a handful of treats to my dog instead of giving them to her one by one. Which was… not very helpful. Again, the care we received was ok hence the two stars, but bedside manners were completely lacking. I would not recommend this clinic if you have a sensitive or anxious dog. This is the only bad review I’ve ever left, but I felt the need to share!

Excellent veterinary practice! My little ChihuahuaxJack Russell mix started going here when he was presenting symptoms of allergies and they were not being resolved by his previous vet. Dr.Grubac suggested allergy testing which sorted out all his problems and then put him on a topical oil that helped all the hair loss from the allergies grow back. He was also treated by Dr.Radnic on short notice for a cat attack to the eye. They honestly care about your animals. They don't try to rack up a bill of uneccessary charges. They are honest and knowledgeable. I've had dogs my whole life and they are the best vet practice I've been to.

After our recent move in to the area we were looking for a closer vet clinic for both of our cats. So we randomly picked Kingsway Vet Clinic based on reviews and were surprisingly amazed! Their staff is very friendly and professional. All veterinarians who helped us there were gentle and caring to our cats as well as provided helpful advises. We did shots and spaying at this clinic and were not overcharged at all (believe we were watching our previous vets at Kitsilano clinic as they would add additional unnecessary costs to all our bills for no reason). So if you want your pet to be treated well, please use their service!!! <3

They saw my dog when we had her spayed just after her rescue and knew she was nervous. So when she had an issue months later, we called ahead to see if we should medicate her first. They said no, just a muzzle. So we get there, the vet wouldn't go near her, refused to test her, or give her medication without said tests. I was told to make a new appointment and have her sedated. Then still billed me for the visit even though she did NOTHING. I asked ahead if we should medicate and was told no. So they basically ripped us off by having us come in without doing so. We will never be back, and we advise people to avoid this vet.

Went there for my puppy's first vet visit and they were extra kind to her. She had a very good first experience with the doctor. He was so gentle and informative, and walked you through everything he did during the exam and vaccines - including how to help my puppy relax during the temperature checks and vaccines. Front ladies were also super sweet with her and chatted with me, too. With covid, they're only allowing one person in at a time so be prepared during busy times you may need to wait outside as the place is quite small outside.

One of the front desk lady is very rude. After I paid for the bill, I found out that they gave me one product I don’t need and trying to return the product. That lady rejected to refund my credit card and the reason was because she was too busy. When I insist for a credit card refund, she told me to wait outside in a very bad attitude. After a while, I saw she asked another guy at the front desk to do the refund process. That process actually only took about one minute. Very disappointed and won’t return.

I absolutely love this clinic. Dr. Zoran is an amazing vet and after my experience with several terrible vets, I only trust him with my dog. The staff at the clinic are also super helpful and friendly. When I took my dog here for major orthopedic surgery, they brought in an amazing specialist surgeon and the staff were so caring towards my dog even though I was really stressed out. I highly recommend this clinic as they made me feel like my dog was in the right hands.

If you need a reliable, and quality vet at an affordable rate, Kingsway vet are your people! They have the best rates in Vancouver and staff who are passionate and understanding. This is one of the few veterinary clinics I have dealt with that has your pets best interest at hand. They will give you every option possible and no judgement what so ever. Very thorough examination and assessment by Dr Radnic for our cat who was ill with skin and eye problems. Seen at short notice and despite this, did not feel rushed. Excellent follow up communication with check in by telephone by staff in the days following the appointment as well as an email from the veterinarian with results from investigations. Clear with plan and follow up. Staff pleasant and efficient.

I had bad experience with the previous vet clinic and am glad that I got a recommendation from my family regarding this clinic. Dr. Koit and staff are very polite and to the point. Things well explained, no over selling and prompt follow up phone call. Price very reasonable. Love the down to earth professional attitude.

I've been coming here for over 20+ yrs until Dr. Koit retired. The receptionists are rude and the vet tries to run unnecessary tests and to find more ways to get money out of a visit. It's a shame that I had to find a new vet after 20 years of coming here with my 4 dogs who were such in a good care under Dr. Koit.

Really good vet and office. They will send a letter addressed to your pet to remind your humans for annual vaccinations and a check up and will followup with a phone call if it has been quite some time. The staff and doctors are also very nice. Parking is limited on the street right in front of them.

I had a very pleasant experience here when I went in spring 2021 for my cat. She had to get a few teeth removed, I was very nervous but the doctors were so helpful in explaining the medications, diet, and aftercare. I was able to feel confident heading home knowing exactly what to do and watch for.

I trust this clinic because the staff is excellent, Dr. Zoran has tons of experience and they are definitely not like many vets who try to empty your wallet. They will recommend what your pet really needs. Everyone at the clinic is very pleasant and even several languages are spoken there.

The Vet have been changed, everything have been changed... One of the medication they gave to my dog need to be taken with food but they didn't specialized on the labels for example, careless, pricey, not professional everything have been changed.

The staff and doctor are fine however they over charged me $270 over a week ago and are yet to reimburse me after many phone calls and a visit to them. So unless you like being charged 3 times for the same service go somewhere else.
