If I could give 0 stars I would. I’m so frustrated with this insurance company and the unresponsiveness of their adjusters. I was rear ended on June 1, I reported it right away and sent my car to be repaired- they gave me a rental (I have a luxury SUV and they did not match that - gave me a basic rental). The body shop found extra damages on my car that needed to be repaired and they sent a new quote to Intact. Intact did not respond and the body shop kept waiting. This prolonged the entire process of having my SUV fixed. Because of the poor communication I had to make calls to the insurance company to push them to approve the quote. I finally received my vehicle on July 23 - almost two months after my accident which is not acceptable since it should have taken 2 weeks at most. Thinking that this was all over, Enterprise Rent A Car is now calling me and saying that there is a balance of over $700 that the insurance company is not going to approve for the rental that is going to be charged on my credit card. I had 0 control over how long it took to get my car back; the miscommunication between Intact and the body shop should not be something that I need to pay for. I was on maternity leave and the rental was parked in my driveway for most of the time it was rented so for me to pay $700+ out of pocket for something like this is very unfair. This entire accident was not even my fault - I was rear ended. I called Intact and they said that they would resolve this issue and get back to me in two days. It has now been 5 days and I had to call them back. The adjuster I speak to never has a good answer for me and can just “leave notes” on my file. I just had a baby last week and the last thing I should be doing right now is dealing with this accident that happened two and a half months ago. This entire process with Intact has been a huge inconvenience and it should not be this complicated to get my car fixed after someone hitting me. As of right now Enterprise has told me they cannot wait on my insurance company and they are going to be charging me. Intact is telling me to give them two more days to resolve this? I’m sure it’s going to take me 6-7 more times of calling to make sure I’m reimbursed for this. Very unimpressed and disappointed with the way this has been handled.

Worst Experience Ever, It's been almost 2 months since the date of accident, still struggling with adjuster. The adjuster never replying back to emails or phone calls on time . The adjuster is more off from work than being present at work . I had sent multiple emails, but there was no reply, and no one answered phone calls, so I left many voice mails, but no one replies back on tim. No one cares. It's been almost two months, and I'm still back and forth with them for a claim for an accident, which I was not at fault. Adjuster Ryan NG Wing Keng is the slowest person in terms of work, he doesn't like to reply back to all questions asked. He only replies to the one he likes. No additional information is provided regarding the claim or policy. Adjustor, keep on denying everything I requested or ask for. They have decided to make it so hard for a person, so he eventually decide to quit and accept what the adjuster is offering. When the case is escalated, to The manager ( Nancy Escobar) she is also not helping or understanding the situation. She is only supporting her employees, she don't even try to understand or listen to the concerns and the problem I am facing due to the delayed response of her team. You guys dont understand the harassment and stress a person goes through after the accident. I always paid insurance on time, but I never ever thought of I had gone through all this harassment and negligence. Please train your staff, so that they follow all the policies and guidelines, and do not change those policies at their convenience. Please train your staff properly so that they can reply to their clients emails and phone calls on time ,and ask them to Not to leave fake notes on file (without even calling client- they mentioned on file called customers no answer no voicemail available) please train them to send email if someone donot pickup call or no voicemail available. Ask them to have some courtesy towards their customers. Even the manager initially said only certain things will be compensated in regards to repair and maintenance done on vehicle, then leave notes for the adjuster, not cover it. Have proof for it. It was such a horrible experience. Facing all this first time in life as its first accident. Doesn't expect at all this.

As a customer of Intact Insurance for a year, I had hopes that my loyalty would be rewarded, but my experiences with this company have proven otherwise. I've remained a loyal customer, always paying on time, maintaining a clean driving record, and even making use of their app, all in the hopes of enjoying a reduced premium. Yet, when I reached out to them to discuss my monthly fee, they announced an increase rather than a decrease. A clear case of undervaluing their customers! This surprising news was only the start of my disappointments with Intact. Despite my clean driving record, no claims or incidents, and responsible usage of their services, my monthly fee was unjustifiably increased. Apparently, the concept of customer loyalty and rewards is a foreign one to Intact. Furthering my disappointment is their customer service - or lack thereof. The only method of communication they offer is through phone calls. In this digital age, where companies prioritize customer convenience with multiple communication channels, Intact seems to be stuck in the 19th century. Expect long hold times and frustrating conversations - a dreadful combination that consumes hours of your day. Options for online chat or email, which would provide efficient and time-effective communication, are absent. It's as if they are avoiding any long-term correspondence with their clients. In a month, when my insurance expires, I will take my business elsewhere. Incredibly, other companies are willing to offer me lower rates without even being their customer. They value potential customers more than Intact values its existing ones. In summary, my time with Intact Insurance was a year of growing disappointment and frustration. I paid my bills regularly, drove responsibly, and got penalized with higher rates instead of being rewarded. It's clear to me that Intact has no interest in rewarding loyalty, only in collecting fees. For a company whose name is "Intact," they certainly don't keep their end of the customer relationship intact. If you value customer appreciation, reasonable fees, modern communication channels, and your time, I would strongly recommend considering alternatives to Intact Insurance.

- Me and my Company Via Travel Inc have been a client of Intact for as long as I remember on a personal and commercial level. - I purchased a vehicle that we use for commercial usage as we are a travel agency that offer religious tours in Saudi Arabia and Israel. And we are authorized to issue all type of visas to Saudi Arabia. Most of our clients are seniors so we do home visits to collect documents, we also attest these documents from our lawyer, and we drop the documents off after we get the visas. - I am the main driver of the car and my brother Shady is the second driver of the car as he doesn't drive it as much as I do. - Unfortunately the car was involved in 3 (non fault) accident where the first 2, drunk people hit the car from behind, and the 3rd one the car got hit while parked. These accident happened over the course of 3 years. Shady happened to be driving the car during these incidents. - Recently after us reporting the 3rd accident. Intact decided that Shady is the principle driver because he was driving the car in the 3 accidents. and although it is not our fault and we have the police reports to prove it...they decided it that he is a Hi-Risk because he has a G2 and one speeding ticket where he was driving 60km in a 50km zone. A ticket that has no points attached. - And so Intact decided to raise the price from 300CAD to 1000 per month. When I spoke to them, they decided that my opinion isn't important and asked me to decide within 3 days either to accept to lie and say that I am not the main driver and so the price become a 1000CAD or they will cancel the policy. I require Intact to honour the policy and keep it at the same rate, Otherwise to provide a legal proof of their claim that I am not the Principle Driver and that my brother Shady is the principle driver. But it is not fair to change the terms of our policy half way through the year as this raises flags to other insurance companies. And if i am being punished because I claimed my rights, then why are we paying for Insurance.

After a flood that damaged our kitchen, my family waited months for any work to be done or even any communication to occur on when the work would be done. I had to move my family with 2 small children 4 times in 3 months because of lack of communication. We had to pay thousands out of pocket, then chase our adjustor for weeks to get the refund. I thought things would get better after the contractor finally got to work but things have gotten even worse. They put down a rubber subfloor which is completely uneven, promising it would "settle." After laying the vinyl plank flooring over top of it, surprise surprise, the floor is uneven and squishy, Dipping in spots when you walk. The house still smells of mold so I doubt proper cleaning has been done. Weeks ago they promised us we would be back in our home tomorrow. Well, today at 11AM I was notified that they didn't order the right parts for the cabinets so we won't be able to return home tomorrow after all. Now I have been left with less than 24 hours to find a home for my family to live in and no response from the contractor or adjuster on a realistic timeline. They ignore my phone calls and emails. This is the second time I have complained to a manager and have heard no response. Tomorrow will be our 5th time moving, simply due to ineffective communication about the date tbe work will be done. I want an adjustor to come to my house today, take a look the terrible work, smell the mold and consider if they would be willing to live there themselves.

Reading some of these reviews and it's crazy how similar their experiences are. I've been in limbo for over a month. I was told unequivocally that my entire tow bill would be reimbursed by multiple agents and now they're only willing to partially reimburse. I was told with certainty that my car is repairable and then told it may be a write off and then told it may still be repairable. It's now at a repair facility which has already submitted an estimate to Intact. I was supposed to hear back within 2 days but after just calling in 5 days later for the hundredth time, there is no update on any part of my claim. I've asked for escalation multiple times but the most that's done is a "note on my file". I've only ever spoken with my adjuster Heaven once through this entire process. She's ignored multiple emails, seems to be out of the office more than she's in, and has never even provided me her extension so I'm constantly dealing with other people. And before Intact responds for me to "call in to discuss my concerns", NO. That's what I've been doing for over a month and nothing happens. As soon as this ordeal is over, I will be switching insurances to a more reputable company and filing a complaint with the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario. I strongly suggest others do the same. Edit: called customer service like the reply suggested and almost a week later, still haven't heard back. Shocking...

My son was in an accident 2 months ago due to weather and the OPP was there and saw exactly what happened and stated in the report that my son was not at fault due to weather conditions. No tickets or anything. Jevco (who is now owned by Intact) has taken 2 months and still my sons car has not been fixed or has not been given an answer as to what is going to happen to his car. He is driving a rental car which makes no sense. How about make a decision on the car so it can get fixed or written off? My son has phoned day after day and week after week and notes are just put on his file by adjusters. Body Shop has been sending emails and our Broker has sent emails to find out what is happening. This is absolutely ridiculous that no one has gotten back to my son from Jevco or the body shop to let them know what is happening. Not to mention the first adjuster put damage repairs on the car that didn't even need to be repaired and approved the quote. The body shop had to redo the quote as the adjuster had made all kinds of mistakes on the repairs needed. What kind of company are you Jevco??? The worst insurance company out there and they charge huge amounts of money each month! And to this day (2 months later) still no word on whether his car will be repaired or not!!! Insane!!! We are now going to involve a lawyer!

One day I was backing my car out of a spot in a mall parking lot when I noticed a vehicle behind and to the left of me begin to backup afterwards. I stopped my car 3/4 out of my spot, not knowing if he saw me or not, and watched as he backed into my rear door while I was beeping my horn in the process. So I got the other drivers insurance information and decided to file a claim with Intact. Worst mistake of my life. After around a month(!) with me calling multiple times in between they inform me that the accident will be a 50/50 fault because they cannot contact the other driver's insurance company for a statement. So they would rather take nobodies word for what happened rather than my word. It didn't matter that I had a police statement, 50/50 fault they say. So now not only do have to replace the door out of my own pocket (it would be cheaper than the 500 dollar deductible) my rates are also likely to go up as I now have a 50/50 fault accident on my record. All because I decided to go through the right steps and contacted my insurance company about my door getting smashed in. These people are downright criminal and will not fight for you, will they claim 50/50 fault if my vehicle gets hit on the road as well when it at no fault of mine? Do yourself a favour and do not get insurance through Intact.

Not the most flexible insurance provider. This provider has discriminatory and unethical policies and practices as it relates to discounts. Attempted to see whether could apply discounts based on my son now in residence at university. Was informed that despite him living in residence in a city 100 KM away that only discounts can be applied up to 150 KM. The only other discount is a 'good student' discount, which can only be applied if my son has 80% average and over. ALSO - can only be applied if he is listed as primary operator on a vehicle for the good student discount. Being a young male, the policy as primary operator is 5000 / Year. So for a vehicle to sit in my driveway doing nothing for 8 months i have to pay 4500 year. And this is with a young male driver whom has a clean record, and has passed an accredited drivers education course. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST IF YOU HAVE TO INSURE YOUR KIDS. Shame on you intact, this is quite discriminatory and essentially allows you probably reject 90% of your discounts. Thanks for your efforts in destroying the younger generations potential to get a good start in life. But that's ok - :) I'm sure your shareholders are happy with profits.

This company is the biggest insurance mafia in Canada. We had business insurance with intact for our furniture store and delivery trucks. There was a theft from our delivery truck; worth $20,000. When we filed the claim, they assigned 3-4 adjustors on our case. These people would do questioning with me regarding the theft. This carried on for 5-6 months. They did that on purpose to mentally wear me out so I would just give up. At one point they tried to frame me for fraud that I had manipulated the theft. After 6 months of rigorous interviews with these stone hearted people, I was very stressed and tired of all this. In the end, I just prayed to God that they get a lesson for what I had faced all this time; just due to their unwillingness to give me my hard earned money. I hope every single of their potential customers reads this and get to know that once you’re in trouble and you need a claim, Intact will instead try to frame you for all your damage so they don’t have to pay back your hard earned money. I am still not out of the trauma that I had to face.

This is the worst insurance company there can be. Don't ever buy insurance from them. For details, read my story. I cancelled my insurance as my car transmission broke down and I scrapped it instead of getting it fixed as it was a really old car. I cancelled my insurance policy the same day but I get a call two months later that my insurance is being cancelled because of non payment! WHAT? and they say I'll have to pay for two months or my record will state that my insurance was cancelled for non payment, EVEN THOUGH I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A CAR FOR THOSE TWO MONTHS. I paid them 1100 extra bucks to protect my record. GUESS WHAT? after a year I try to buy another car and another insurance company tells me that my record states that my policy was cancelled for non payment and because of that the cheapest insurance I will get is $1100 a month!!!! I hope you guys read this and stay away from this fraud company. Even when you call customer care, nobody gives a damn about the customer. I'll take this matter to the court

Worst Insurance company and the broker who gave me this policy are also the worst. Somehow I have completed the year and my auto and home policy expiring on October 01, 2020. I sent them clear instructions when they sent me the policy for renewal that I am no more interested to renew the policy through my broker Gallagher. On September 15, 2020 my Broker Gallagher sent me an email that we have returned back your auto and home policy as instructed by you and your policy will not renew and stand cancel on September 30, 2020. There was no deduction from my bank account on 1st of October, the date on which they deduct money from my account for as monthly payment of my policy but suddenly they deduct money from my account on October 15, 2020 for the reasons not known to me. Now I am taking up this matter by my broker Gallagher and the insurance company. So please be careful when dealing with this company.

This is the worst insurance company you can sign up for. My partner had a ghastly motor accident and was not at fault. It was a hit and run situation with multiple cars involved. The car was a total write off with injuries. This is over a year. They refused to pay off for the car to the auto financing company leaving us in debt for a car we no longer use. They paid 6000 dollars short. Then they proceed to refuse him benefits or approve proper treatment for him. They refuse to help with childcare costs since the burden now falls on one person and they refuse to even as much as settle him so he can return to work like a normal person. Intact is inhumane and wo betide you if something happens to you while under their cover. They'd leave you to suffer. Please don't use this company. From here I'll proceed to writing my review on trust pilot and everywhere I can.

If I could rate Intact zero stars I would. I was involved in a non at fault accident over a month ago and have been treated like garbage the whole time. This is the first time I’ve ever made a claim and I hope I never have to in the future. The adjuster nor her supervisor have ever returned my phone calls. They won’t send an appraiser to the body shop to look at the damages underneath the car. The car is shaking and that needs to be assessed as my three year old is in that car everyday. This is pure negligence. If this isn’t rectified soon I will be escalating this to the Insirance Bureau of Canada. I pay my insurance on time and in full every month and tre way I’ve been treated is disgusting.

I’m with Belairdirect and submitted a home insurance claim. It was naturally denied. The service throughout the process was pretty bad. It took the adjuster forever to get back to me. We couldn’t connect on the phone and emails were followed by crickets. I received a Proof of Loss in the mail (thought it would be emailed as mentioned), the letter was not sealed and other than the cursory intro letter, the forms were all empty. I remained polite, patient and somewhat understanding through it all. I stopped myself short of getting in contact with manager/supervisor, but hoping this review will at least provide me with some solace that the subpar customer experience will not go unnoticed.

Intact is really not the place where anyone should work. first they hired a lot of staff and now when they have alot of employees now they are firing employees every week. One of my friend worked their more than 1 year and they just fired her, without any warning and neither they gave her any chance to rectify problems. My friends husband was also not working because of their family problems they are going through very hard time they have very young daughter they are having no income and intact had just through her out with out any hesitation. It is very rude intact should gave her one chance. I will let all my other friends know what Intact is doing with employees

My broker is super lovely, however intact is just out to take your money. I moved to a smaller town, got a vehicle that wasn't considered a sport, I work from home have manged to put 2000k on my vehicle in a year and my insurance just went up 400 more for the year. I'm stuck with them for 10 years they say due to a minor bumper damage from an ice storm back on 2017. (They state if i go with anyone else that will cause i huge increase) No at fault accidents since 2003!! Don't do business with them...Zero reasoning why insurance continues to go up every year. So sick of the crooks of the world. It's getting uglier and uglier out there.

i hate to say this, but i had an accident on march 30th, 2023. my car was declared a total loss a month after the claim was made. it's july 4, 2023, and im getting no response from them or emails. just one phone call asking for the bill of sale, and that was a week ago. I've tried calling and sending emails, but i get nothing. im not saying all of intact is at fault, but this branch doesn't care. the person handling this matter has either blocked my number or is still on vacation since june 6th or 5th. the manager doesn't answer or gives a call back. I have been a patient man, but i feel like i have no choice but to let lawyers.

I was in a no fault accident due to a drunk driver hitting me and they gave me the worst time in terms of payout. They valued my car less than what it was worth. Speaking to a manager or supervisor is nearly impossible. None of them are ever available to speak with you and they never call back. Their policy is the worst. They only give you a car rental until they provide with an offer when your car is written off. Whether or not you accept their offer you must return the rental car and are left with nothing. They give you less than the bare minimum. Terrible company.

Worst experience i ever had with any insurance company First, they will give you 25% app discount and later on the end of premium they deduct whole discount as a one payment. Will never ever go with intact in future Reply- Here we go call to whom? Do you guys even talk to customers whenever i tried to contact you guys for any information you guys only have one answer contact your broker intact can’t deal with customers and another side broker is only looking for his commission which is around 50$ paid by customer every month. Intact is such a scam

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Intact Insurance and their representative Clarke Ballantine. He was rude and unhelpful in dealing with our claim. Not only did he not offer any assistance, he also denied storage fees to our shop for no legitimate reason. We have legally held the vehicle for over 50 days while they were in a dispute with the client, yet he still refused to cover the fees. I would not recommend Intact Insurance to anyone based on my experience with Clarke Ballantine.

Had a car accident recently, spent 4 hours and 4 calls on the phone with them to try to figure out what to do with no help on the day of the accident. 1 week later, No information on rental vehicle, agent went on vacation for a week without anyone taking over. No information on what to do with signing over the title of my car after I agreed on the settlement. Long delays in response time, It will be 3 weeks soon without a car or the settlement money

Absolutely horrible, I've now waited over 2 months for my claim, did not get reached out to once during the time, I had to call to see the progress, in which was notified updates happened days before but no call, finally got to a number we agreed upon after appraiser told me I was being lowballed. To only get my cheque voided for a mistake they made and now have to wait an additional week. Very unsatisfied with this company

The worst insurance company ever . I met with an accident and filed claim and more than a month has gone and my claim is still in process and even these guys have taken back rental car saying that you have used your credits for rental car. I am still paying my insurance without even having a car with me. Every time i call to talk with my adjuster she always in meeting and makes excuses to not talk with me.

Worst experience with this company. First time my policy didn't start due to their error and after 2 weeks they start new policy. Now after 3 months they send bill of early termination which is of 1000 dollars....this is not our fault to cancel this. Just for 10 days (for inactive policy) I have to pay 1000 dollars and now their broker and agents are not responding. Never recommend this to anyone.

Estelle Poo-Cheong is by far the worst claim adjustor/agent ever. I give this agent everything they need. (15) business days was wait time for completion. It's been over 1 month. I've sent 5 emails. The agent never replied despite having "if you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me." I have and they have not replied. If you cannot do your job. Do not work here.

Today I called to inquire about my claim, the insurance company had our car towed to a body shop last week, 7 days later they have not calculated any estimates, The adjuster didn't respond to our calls, I thought previously that their couldn't get worst but they are making new lows every time we contact them. I hope someone pays attention to these bad reviews and does something about it.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! they aren’t sure about anything. They make you wait 2 months just to know your claim hasn’t gone through and then charge you for rentals and storage fees. They aren’t even aware of storage fees from Body shops and expect the customer to know. Ridiculous staff and specially adjustor verna parrera, the slowest one out of all. Willing to do a civil case on them.

Honestly, I wouldn’t use these people if they were the last ones on the planet. They don’t do anything for you they just take your money and then ignore you. We put in a claim almost a year ago and have heard absolutely nothing back. We keep trying to contact them, but they ignore us.. again if you want to pay out, but never get anything back on claims these are the people for you!

If you are looking for a reliable insurance company please do not waste your time with these people they do not take you seriously and they take their sweet time. They do things on their own time. I will be switching companies and hopefully this review helps the people who work there treat their customers with a little bit more care.

worse company ever, you have to constantly call them for updates. car was a write-off, they've tried to give me an offer for a lower trim option when I keep explaining to them that its not said they'd "put it on their file" this will be a month now when it shouldve taken 2 weeks. GARBAGE COMPANY

Terrible experience, worst insurance company to deal with claims. Our car was written off In an accident ( not at fault) and we have been waiting for a settlement since mid December last year. Impossible to get ahold of adjuster and they never call to update you on case. Absolutely disgraceful.

Truck has been at a shop for over a month and every time you call they say "we can't get a hold of our tow truck company or the shop, someone has been trying every day". So every single day for a month no one answers the phone? Will update this review when we finally speak with someone.

Horrible customer service. I'm a local repair facility and from my personal experience I would not recommenced anyone to give this company or branch any business. There is a reason why they have a google review of 2 stars. Shameful performance on all professional levels.

One of the worst insurance. When it come to claim they are showing there original picture. As a Peel municipality resident I am paying double or triple insurance premium and when it comes to claim they are not considering the vehicle price of GTA. It's not fair at all

Horrible service. The whole accident handing takes more than two months. They needed a month just to see my car and two weeks to pay my repair shop. Everytime I call, they say it will be quick and fine, but they came back in two weeks and nothing is fine.

Horrible customer service. They don't answer the phone. They don't respond to messages. 6 months after a motorcycle accident I still know nothing but I'm forced to pay the policy until the bike is fixed. Don't wasted your money. Worst insurance company.

Talk about rude phone staff from this company, was trying to get a quote 2 months before my renewal. They hung up on me. If thats what you get from trying to get a quote. Then I would not want to know how bad the claims department is.

Very bad experience with intact insurance. Its more Then 2.5 month but i did not get my claim yet . I am calling these guys every day but no response from their side . I will not recommend anyone to go with intact insurance.

They charge me more than 50% from my regular insurance for change address different! So it’s means my new address will make my new insurance increase more than 50%!! It’s just 5 km away from my previous address

Had to make a claim. Was givin rental and adjuster was in contact at all times. Had to pay rest of contract off before getting new car. Other then that great people to deal with and stellar company.
