Where do I start…. I came Saturday night with two of my girls. From the entry we smelt something so horrible, me and the girls were a-bit hesitant at first but continued to go. When we got there we were told we had to pay before eating, standard. We were told to wait in the waiting area as they prepared our table, two minutes later the lady come out and said our table was ready. We walked with her and as we got to the table it was still being prepared, she stood us next to the disposable bin as they were still disposing the food on the table from the previous customers. As we were standing she handed us a menu and pen and told us to basically do her job take our own order while standing and pick what we want on the spot. We wanted to leave but we already paid the $120 for all of us to eat, as I felt like they trapped us in forced us in a way so we couldn’t leave as we already have paid. When we sat, we got up and started making ur sauce. The trays were greasy and dirty, when we got to the buffet it was just dirty and disgusting plates, they weren’t clean and the vegetables and meat just looked old as it looked like it had been left out all day. For all my Muslim people I’ve seen customers mix their pork and meat with the same tongs please be aware. Also tongs we’re placed inside the trays of the food after people have touched them, letting the tongs touch our food and meat. After that we were told if there was any waste of food we had to pay $30 for the waste that’s sickening. I wasn’t even going to pay that fee but just the look of it made me not want to put anything on my plate. I do not recommend this place at all. Save your money and go somewhere that looks more hygienic and clean. This place is not the place to go.

It is $25pp for lunch service during weekday. For lunch service, you are severely limited in food choice, 85% is long term frozen or canned items, like fish balls, spam, baby corn, packet noodles, etc. The stuff that is somewhat fresh like green vegetables, meat slices, enoki mushroom are highly fought over. Usually they wheel in a tray of each from downstairs, and the big welfare party of 6 in front of you take the whole tray to their table disregarding other customers. You could be waiting 15+ minutes for more to come out, why bother. If we get onto the topic of service, there is none. You have to flag down staff as there is few around, the whole thing is self service. Now there are staff that cut/chop food into smaller pieces who work in the kitchen (?), those staff do not eat the food they interact with. How do I know this? Have you ever seen radish in 5cm piece rounds? Bamboo shoots julienned? Potato thins 0.4mm>? I have, for the first time in my life here. Normal hotpot enjoyers know how cursed these cuts are. For $25pp, you're better off buying your own ingredients and making hotpot at home for a significantly better experience.

It is my first time in Australia and I went to Bankstown with some of my friends and we all tried this restaurant as we heard it serves the best hotpot buffet in town. There was so much food to choose from - all kinds of meat and veggies but the seafood selection blew me away. There were I think a dozen options of soups to choose from and there was an option to choose 2 soups at once with a split bowl. Servers were great too. Always around if you needed something but gave us space to chat. No rush with the 1.5 hour timeframe either. Parking was simple too. Underground or on the street, no issues. By the end we were all stuffed. Best buffet I've been to, hands down.

The food was really good. I liked the whole hor pot experience. There are plenty of options to add to your soup for a pescetarian diet. There are a lot of seafood options over 20 items, at least. Be warned all the soup apart from the vegetarian one is chicken based. Even if it says seafood, it still has chicken. The place gets extremely busy and noisy in the evenings. It also has a potential hazard of hot soup spills, so I would not recommend taking younger kids there. Otherwise, it's an excellent place to come eat with your family and friends. Delicious

Place is ok. Food was decent and there were a lot of options to select from the buffet. But customer service was terrible, literally. Walked up and waited at front desk and the chick there didn’t even greet us. She just entered in the amount for us to pay and just stared at us without saying a word or even asking us if we paying together or separately. She then stuck us in the ugliest spot, and the only time she spoke was to explain what to do to order/eat. She left. Then when I went to hand in my little paper slip for my soup base order this other chick over the counter just rudely snatched the paper out of my hand. Throughout the whole evening my friend and I felt like we were being stared down by the employees for who knows what reason. Literally no one there knows how to communicate decently with a customer. Bad customer service. Would not recommend.

Good value for dinner - all you can eat buffet with a nice selection of veggies, seafood but the meat selection wasn't wow. We had a problem with our table where our table remotes were going on and off because the powerpoint terminal would flick off. The terminal itself was a bit grimy and dirty so may have been a correlation? Apart from that, definitely would eat here again. Just wish the staff were a bit more personable. The special Korean sauce is a MUST HAVE. Highly recommend this sauce.

Wow, what an amazing experience at Hotpot City! I can't stop raving about this place. The service was on point! Friendly and attentive staff made us feel right at home. They even helped us choose the perfect soup base and recommended some delicious ingredients. Now, let's talk about the food! The variety here is mind-blowing. Whether you're a meat lover, seafood enthusiast, or a veggie fanatic, there's something for everyone. We had a blast customizing our own hotpot creations. The freshness of the ingredients really stood out. But what impressed me the most was the affordability. For the quality and quantity of food you get, it's an absolute steal. Plus, they have some great deals that won't break the bank. All in all, Hotpot City is a hidden gem for hotpot lovers like me. Can't wait to go back.

Great hotpot at a very affordable price. It's like your regular all you can eat hotpot restaurant - it gives you the basic options of seafood, meat (beef, pork, lamb), a variety of fish & tofu balls, and veggies. They claim that the beef and lamb are halal, so that adds peace of mind. There are several choices of soup, including spicy sichuan soup, tom yum, and japanese soy - all very flavourful. Also, you can help yourself to a variety of sauces and condiments in their sauce stand. For the best deal, I recommend coming on weekdays during lunch hours (11:30 - 15:00), as they will only charge you $20 and set no time limit. My only problem is that during my visit, they didn't serve any fresh seafood (which I have seen available in some reviews). However, that didn't really detract from the experience much. Overall still very full and satisfied.

I recently enjoyed a fantastic dining experience at Hotpot City. The place has a great vibe, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The variety of fresh ingredients for the hotpot was impressive, and the broths were flavorful and delicious. The DIY cooking at the table was both fun and interactive. The restaurant's ambiance is modern and cozy, making it perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. The service was top-notch, with staff members always ready to assist. Overall, Hotpot City is a must-try for hotpot lovers. Great food, friendly staff, and a cozy atmosphere make it a standout dining spot. Highly recommended!

Very good place especially if you have a large family. Fun and interesting concept, choose a flavour of soup and you add your own ingredients. Staff will come around when you are low on soup and too it up for you. Seafood was frozen tasted a little bland. But noodles red meats, mushrooms and vegetables were nice. Wide variety and tasted amazing. They have a whole section dedicated to sauces and condiments to add more flavours to your soup. With the vast range of ingredients, sauces and condiments there are lots of possibilities to make. However limited range of fruits and desserts. Atmosphere was warm and relaxing. Staff where nice, helped you understand how the whole thing works. Frequently came around to collect empty plates. Definitely worth trying out, especially fun with a larger group of people.

23/7/19 Just had lunch here, tried out the stock soup base $19 plus a can of solo $4. I tried out the fish ball, veggie ball and cuttlefish ball was very tasty. The seasoned red pepper sauce is gotta be my favorite sauce so nice and add in fresh chili to give it some heat. Overall very nice comfort food. 20/7/19 Just had a solo session with Tom yum soup base $35 and a can of coke $4. Some of th dipping sauces are so nice. Friday afternoon just had the hot pot with ox tail soup $35 and a coke $4. I really enjoyed it, they have a great variety of soup, meat, sauces and veggies. Overall I had a great time. I highly recommend bringing your family and friends here to enjoy the great food. I forgot to mention depending on the time you go best to ring and make a booking, the place can get very busy

  • Riley Lucas

Came in for dinner with friends. In all fairness the hotpot buffet wasn’t too bad. There was a decent variety of meat and vegetables to choose from. There was also a small selection of seafood such as prawns, octopus, mussels, clams and seafood balls. There was also a decent selection of soup/broth bases to select from such as spicy, tom yum, ox tail, chicken etc (all broths were quite flavourful). Customer service was great and quite attentive especially with stock refills. Although it was timed seating (1.5hrs) at no stage did we feel rushed and at no point did any staff bother us which made our dining experience so much more enjoyable. Parking was abundant underneath the venue and outside on the streets.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and they were always on hand to aid when it was needed. Additionally, the price was more than justified by the delicious food that was provided, which included a wide range of alternatives at the buffet that suited to diverse palates, as well as a variety of excellent soups to meet individualised preferences. The atmosphere was pleasant and upheld a tidy environment. Overall, I would highly suggest this place, and I will most definitely be going back soon!

$39 hot pot buffet. I found this place cheap in price, and also cheap in food. The seasame paste sauce was watered down so much it taste like seasame water sauce. The tables look worn. The chairs were so dirty. There was a gazillion people here lining up for a cheap feed. Floors were sticky. Service is poor. Plenty of empty sauce pots not filled and food not filled in. I question the hygiene of this place. The hot pot soup base wasn’t that tasty either. Will I come back? no. I rather pay more money for better hygiene, better seating, better food and service. Just letting You know I had gastro after eating here and I was also pregnant! Hygiene here is rather concerning !

I dont usually like soup but this place is nice!! So much variety. You can go with as many people as you want as they accomodate for big groups. You cook the food yourself and when ur soup is finished they top you up with chicken soup. I been a few times and the staff were snappy and not that welcoming at times when asking questions or for help with something but they have 2 new guys (who I think are islanders) working there that are lovely so shout out to them!! :)

Food is not fresh. Flies can seen flying around especially their foods section is in open air style. Flies keep flying and stay on the foods on our table. Uncomfortable experience. Poor customer service. Barely have staff coming around and asking if we want to add more soup or cleaning dishes even our table is full of empty dishes. Eating hot pot with several tables customers together and aircon is not cool at all. Feel so hot and stuffy in the restaurant. Not recommended coming on weekday not sure about Friday and weekend.

4.7 - The Best All-You-Can-Eat Hotpot Buffet ($37) that I have had. And no crowds! Makes it perfect for catch-ups with friends. I love the items they have there although the only thing missing is probably Asian drinks and desserts (like a sweet red bean soup or white fungus papaya to soothe those throats after all the heat of the Hotpots). Or else a drink of wintermelon or plum to even up our systems? They have watermelon, which is great, but it's often room temperature rather than chilled. Love this place though! Glad I brought my friends to experience it! This is the only thing I come out to Bankstown for!

Probably one of my last visits here, you guy's have on google that you open from 11:30-3 but when i got there at 1:30 I was told I only have 20mins to get food to my table. So I said ok that's fine, we paid went in and there wasn't even anything to pick from. There was no people wanting to top us off with water either I understand you have to close but an hr and a half before you're actually supposed to close? That's just ridiculous Your paying customers are here to eat because you have variety but there wasn't even anything to pick from Never going back

Really great local option for hot pot! I’ve been twice now and the buffet selection is always kept full and fresh! It’s quite clean with a good selection of sauces and condiments. Service could be a little better for first timers so some extra communication could go a long way but for what it is it’s really great! The Kimchi soup base is the perfect balance of slightly spicy, mild layered flavours! Their fresh garlic (condiment) could be chopped to a finer consistency given they usually serve chunks to add to a sauce - minced fresh would be better!

Bookings are essential! This is a Great hot pot place! But it can get pretty busy so my advice would be to make sure you book online! Awesome selection of soup bases, defiantly recommend there malatung spicy flavour! They offer a wide range of meat options namely seafood, pork, lamb, chicken and beef. So something for everyone! The staff are experienced and are on point! Very easy to find and plenty of parking and perfect for groups of 4! You have to try their sauces too! Korean special sauce is amazing

Thoroughly enjoyed this hot pot place. The place was very modern and staff were very friendly, constantly making sure our hotpot was topped with chicken broth. The broth selection was surprisingly wide with a variety from different cultures such as the Tom yum hot pot. The sauce selection was very extensive, taking up a huge amount of space. I just wish they had some recommendations like other places. The food itself tastes fresh and selection was also huge. But the frozen stuff all started tasting the same after a while. Good prices and we will definitely be back.

We love this restaurant and come here on a regular basis. Admittedly it took a while to get used to (the cooking times of various veggies/noodles etc) but once you get the hang of it, it’s such a fantastic experience. They have mountains of seafood, meats, noodles, veggies and delicious condiments so your hotpot is completely customisable, the flavour combinations are endless! The staff are always polite and are more than happy to assist if you’re unsure what sauces/flavours go well together.

This is a very self serve place. Staff was not accessible and indifferent. They dropped things to you without eye contact and then left immediately without giving you a chance to ask them a question. Place was not clean either. Also, the started packing things up at 8pm when they supposed to be closed at 10. Feeling rush and unable to enjoy the dinner.

Very similar to the one at Hurstville, food is fresh, tasty, and enough in terms of variety. Two things are different from the one at Hurstville: 1. This one doesn’t have specialty drinks. 2.
