When this restaurant first opened, I ordered 'take- out' and the food was good. What I found daunting at the time, was the bad customer service, and the entitled attitude towards tipping. I order food to go, pick it up, pay for it and bring it to the car myself. What am I tipping for? Someone needs to explain the concept of tipping to some of these restaurant establishments. I have visited a few times after, since the food was ok, despite terrible customer service. I haven't been for more than a year, as I find the food is very expensive and should be a once in a while visit. Yesterday I took a family member and an out of town friend there for the food experience(both first time). We went in for two separate orders, and the guy doing the take- out was having a challenging time taking the order and organizing it. Our first order was done at least 15 minutes before the second, yet the second order came out first with deficiency. We had to wait another 20 minutes for the first order, which came out partial and needed to be fixed again. We spent close to an hour waiting for the food. What was worst is when we inquired about the order, a staff came out with an attitude telling us that we already got our order. So I used the bill to point out that we had a first order that we haven't received. There was no remorse. She walked away and our order came out after. The customer service is really low grade especially (as seen in other reviews) of an establishment so bent on tips. The food quality has also gone down. For that reason and customer service, we will not return nor recommend. I'm sure they don't care as they will still get customers and customer service is not priority for them.

3 Stars only because my kids didn't hate it. This place is an average Japanese grill. That being said, after calling, being incredibly clear about having celiac, and being promised that food is prepared in a separate area, I definitely got hit with all the symptoms after eating here. Upon sharing with the manager on duty , the level of care given was not up to par, she showed zero care, hence I am writing this so people that suffer like me won't be hit with their careless flagrant attitude. They should have taken more care, they did not use a separate area to9 prepare the food, and now I get to enjoy being sick. This left me incredibly disappointed with the experience here even though my kids enjoyed their meal. Another place to watch out for cross contamination they say they take care of, but it is not good enough in my personal experience today. I won't ever be going back and would caution anyone suffering from celiac to pay attention to how they prepare the space they cook your food on. It's not worth the suffering that comes...

Avoid if you have celiac. In my experience, they did not take due care to protect, and that is a big negative for this place.... Especially given how they advertise, they care... My experience was very poor, and after mentioning it at the end yo the manager, I did not ask for anything other than understanding they needed to take it seriously they were flagrant in their care, poor experience. I feel compelled to write this to warn others...

Had high hopes for this place, and was let down. We went for lunch teppanyaki on Saturday August 28th. The server, "Aaron" was very rude, and very militant. He was unfriendly and unhospitable. This was the first time that my nephew experienced Teppanyaki, Aaron was a dark cloud hovering around the tables. Totally ruined the experience. In addition to his lack of customer skills, he did not adjust the automatic tip system on our bill, and my husband unknowingly paid 15% service charge, in addition to the minimal tip that was given to Aaron. I realized this when we reached home and immediately called the manager, Johnnie. Aaron also exhibited unhygienic behaviour that my husband and Johnnie also observed. Once I provided feedback to Johnnie, he apologized for the experience and he resolved the issue regarding the automatic tip. Johnnie committed to better training for the employees and a better customer experience. The highlight to this restaurant was Victoria who made the reservation, and the chef - Krishna. The chef was accommodating and ensured the food was prepared to our preferences. He has a warm and kind personality. Was impressed with his people skills, and it encouraged me to personally give him a tip. The manager, placed great efforts to turn the experience around, it was just too late The quality of the food is just "ok' Will most likely not be coming back to this restaurant nor recommend it to others due to the poor service, unhygienic behaviour by the server and automatic tipping system.

Poor management. Poor customer service. Dysfunctional. Honestly - I suggest finding a different location or go to Iron Chef on Tomken. Arrived at 7:20 for a 7:30 reservation to celebrate an important event; we ended up leaving the restaurant at 7:50 without being provided any type of update on the status of our table. It was obvious they were short staff because a) the wait staff all seemed to be angry at each other (the hostess didnt know how to set up tables) and they were clearly yelling at each other and b) we tried to order drinks at the bar, but the bartender said "I have a lot of other orders to take care of" (which, if you've ever worked a bar, is a mindblowing thing to say). (And for the record the hostess said it was fine to go to the bar and get drinks while we waited) I advised the hostess that our party was leaving; she did not seem to care I asked if I could have the management's contact - which they refused to give/they didn't know. Their mismanagement and being short staff is definitely managements fault. But their customer service and attitude is definitely partly their own fault/poor training. If you're going to spend money on a night out - go somewhere else (we ended up at harbours landing just 3 minutes away).

Hibachi Teppanyaki and Bar 105, Cross Avenue, Oakville, Canada My last weekend destination to celebrate International Men's Day. This is a popular Group of restaurants in Canada. Hibachi Teppanyaki and Bar is a popular Japanese Steakhouse or Teppanyakiis. Post World War ll style of Japanese cuisine is available here. This kind of Japanese cuisine is prepared on iron griddle to cook food. The word - Teppanyaki is derived from Teppan, which is a metal plate on which it is cooked. Yaki - means grilled, broiled or pan-fried. The MasterChef will dazzle you with their samurai swordsmanship - as they slice, dice, juggle and entertain while preparing delicious food live on a sizzling Teppanyaki grill. Teppanyaki sets with Salmon , Shrimp, Chicken. Had the Chicken Fried rice. Also had Spicy Miso soup with it. Crab stick sushi was delicious. Seafood lovers would love this Japanese restaurant. Great food Lovely ambience Excellent service by chef. And it's a full entertainment along with hot food served on plate. One of the best experience in a cold evening. A memorable dinner indeed.

This place isn’t crowded and there seems to be plenty of space. We tried to book for an earlier time and we were told they cannot accommodate us. I thought it’s probably busy but it wasn’t and it was good since I had my kids with me. They were able to walk around, didn’t have anyone to get disturbed. Food was ok, you can eat once here. We ordered edamame, coconut shrimp, crispy chicken wontons, chicken karage, teriyaki set with fish and scallops, chicken fried rice, dragon rolls, stir fried noodles. The cooking was done in front of us for three dishes and that was good. We were told we should order everything at once because chef will only cook in front of us only one time and that felt like they were under staffed. We loved shrimp but wontons sucked. We couldn’t even take one full bite. Chicken fried rice had no salt, fried noodles and edamame was fine. Teriyaki set was fine but scallops were hard. Dragon roll was edible but not great. Chicken karage was ok too. No one truly asked us how the food was. No one seemed to care about the service. Price seems reasonable but they could do better. I have been to so many Hibachi restaurants in North America and this one was my least favourite.

  • Alexandra Carter

I actually can't say anything about the food because, despite making a reservation, it was never honoured. We made a reservation for a graduation on a Wednesday night at 730 (the restaurant even called the next day to confirm the reservation); we got there a little early and asked if we could wait in the bar. The bartender didn't want to serve is because "it was too busy" okay, so we kept waiting. Two other parties were seated before us - they were in the waiting area. When 7:45 rolled around, we asked when we would be seated and was told to keep waiting and that they never had our reservation... The entire time we waited, we watched the manager talk down/ belittle her staff, includong the bar tender. Clearly she was overwhelmed and couldn't handle the demands that night. We ended up going somewhere else to celebrate. Hopefully with a more well managed team, a reservation will be upheld and we can try Oakville Hibachi.

Everything was excellent tonight and I was going to give a rave review, until we paid our bill. Never had we ever had a hostess call us out for the amount of tip percentage of 13%, that was a $30 tip for a family of 4. After the transaction went through she handed back the terminal and said there was a mandatory 15% tip, which if that was the actual case most restaurant ( high end) of a party of 6 or more will automatically charge you minimum 18%. This was poor etiquette on her part considering we had to ask twice because our drink and soup was not served. Gratuity has never been mandatory and it is always based on what a customer feels is appropriate based on the level of service you receive. Not impressed, and doubt we will be returning customers after this uncomfortable interaction with our hostess.

Very dissatisfied. These places are about dinner and a show. Dinner was quite good show was very disappointing. All around us people are having a great time, four foot flare ups, tossing brocolli in guest mouths, juggling eggs. The pic shows what we got. I showed this pic and the video we had to the manager. He thanked me for my feedback, apologized and said that the chef must be new. How is that my problem? Why does our experience suffer because the chef is new? Nothing was done to correct the situation which was the most frustrating part of it all. As a person who worked in restaurants for many years it is ok to make mistakes, it is not ok not to fix them. This will be our last visit to this establishment and I would advise others to find another Hibachi grill if they seek both food and entertainment.

We ate here for our anniversary. We booked a reservation online. We ate there on a Monday night 7 pm. They have 5 teppanyaki tables. Our waitress was great. They sat us and spaced us nicely. The chef was amazing and funny. He did tricks and was entertaining. We ordered the deluxe combo. Our filet mignion was perfectly cooked. We ordered medium rare and it was perfect. We also ordered tempura. Tasted good and Crispy. We were seated and finished eating within an hour. I assume because it was not busy. Great experience all around.

Good experience and really good food. To be honest I expected more entertainment from it but it was relatively good. Food is really good though. We tried lobster tail, steak, shrimp, Scallops, chicken fried rice, Miso soup. Cocktail was not good except for Tropical fizz (Sicilian kiss, Mojito, Tropical fizz) We celebrate a birthday. For extra $10, they brought a cheese cake, sang birthday wishes with some small drum play and provided a group photo. I was able to get $200 gift card for $160 from costco, so i was able to save $40 from there already. Final bill already included 15% tip. Free parking Friendly staff

This was my first time experiencing hibachi and it was an average experience. The food tasted better than how it looked, obviously because they make it in front of you and slab it onto your plate. For apps we got takoyaki and karaage and both were meh. The fried rice was the highlight of the meal. I got the steak and my friends got big portioned chicken yakisoba plates that were surprisingly flavourful. A big downside was that we had to wait a long while before getting our chef because we had to wait for another party, we arrived right when they just opened at noon.

Had my work holiday dinner here. Group of 30. Everyone loved it. The chefs were entertaining, everyone (almost) caught the toss broccoli in their mouth and the food was delicious, there was so much food that people had leftovers to bring home. They were accommodating to peoples needs (allergies and halal options). I chose the lobster, filet mignon and chicken group meal. The staff were very accommodating and let me set up a gift table. Management were helpful in helping me organizing my event. Highly recommend for any work event or group. Will definitely return and bring my kids here.

For those who are not familiar with Teppenyaki, the dining experience combines japanese food with a live chef who literally performs while cooking in front of your table. For instance , last night our 'personal' chef (sounds pretty special, and it really was) began with a breathtaking knife/ ladle display, tossed eggs around like a conjurer, batted bits of broccoli right into our mouths from the wok and even concocted a beating heart out of fried rice. The food tasted awesome as it was cooked seconds ago, and then served right into our plates. All in all a great experience to remember a special occasion and we made some great memories.

Very professional, clean and welcoming! I'm still nervous eating at restaurants but I went there since my friends wanted to. I decided to order take out while my friends decided to eat there. They accommodated me with such ease that I didn't feel awkward at all to have my mask on the entire time and not eat! We had the pleasure to meet and get served by the owner - very humble, kind and talented person. He is looking to start two schools that teach Teppanyaki. I wish him all the success! Good luck and thank you again for accommodating me. P.s. friends had already digged in their meal before I could take a picture. My meal was amazing!

Brought family here on a Friday evening. Food was good and chef was excellent. However, the service was suboptimal, especially considering the price. Waited 20 min after being seated for someone to give water and take drinks orders, multiple orders were missed/forgotten. Rice for some of the guests never arrived until the end despite asking for it. The waiting staff we clearly working hard but this place appears to be understaffed. They should restrict the number of allowed reservations rather than running a conveyer belt of customers. Bottom line: food is good, but service very suboptimal for price. Will not be coming back.

  • Madhav Mehra

Hi, we really enjoyed the food at Hibachi and the service provided was good. However, one of your servers forced and pushed me to provide a tip for the chef which is highly unprofessional and rude for a customer. A true definition of a customer service does not mention to force a customer to provide tips at a restaurant and the concept of pushing customers is unacceptable and rubbish. Everything else is really good, but this act has pushed me away to visit your restaurant again. Thank you.

This was a really cool experience. The kids at our table were having a blast! The food selection was a pretty basic menu but you are here for the show (and the fire)! I ordered the Chicken Yakisoba and when served it was a nice light pepper sauce. The veggies were nicely cooked and seasoned with a soy dressing. I was impressed with the service as dishes were all cleared quickly and we were well attended to.

The cooks literally use the SAME UTENSILS to go back and forth between cooking RAW chicken and charring veg. The most basic knowledge of cooking is the simple food hygiene of not putting raw bacteria all over veg that doesn’t get cooked. They also use the same utensil for the rice. So salmonella etc all over rice too. What’s worse is that the cook DOES THIS IN FRONT OF YOU!!! You can SEE the food poisoning coming toward you in REAL TIME.

the food was a bit above average (everything had so much soy sauce and oil), the service was okay, the atmosphere was nice but not Japanese. The staff was Indian including the teppanyaki chef, and nothing wrong with Indians but imagine going to an Indian restaurant where all the staff including the chef was Japanese! It just takes away from the experience, specially when booking a Teppanyaki table. I do not think we will be going back.

Nasty experience. Expected better as I have been here before. I had my daughter's birthday there in November for 13girls. There were two trays of salad coming to our table with a tray directly on top the salad on the bottom tray. The trays were dirty and our host Aida or so said that is how they keep the food in the kitchen as there is no space. I took a look at the trays and they were quite dirty in and out. 2. Our chef was okay but burnt the rice. It was far from an exciting experience.

Very disappointed. I have been coming to here since 2018 , food here used to taste great. But this time when I'm here with my friend, we both not happy with food . The fry rice are not cooked well, as you can see in the picture, some are clumped and some are over sauced.we ordered 1 vegetables and 1 chicken and the cook messed up and we have to share the chicken fry rice. He also forgot to cook the scallops as we ordered the seafood set . Over all, disappointed with this experience.

  • A D

For the amount you pay the portions are rather small actually and the guy who cooked our food when we went, he literally tossed out all the white part of the three eggs he cracked and I was thinking "ummmm you just tossed half of each egg there...ok". Never had my drink refilled or offered as much either. The place overall is ok but it definitely wouldn't be something I'd be interested in spending that much money on again.

The experience was very cool but there was something weird with the food. I had the chicken and steak. 3 hours after eating, I was taken to the hospital. Had a fever of 104, vomiting, diarrhea and my body was weak. At Creditvalley hospital, they told me I had food poisoning. It was upsetting since it was my bachelor party. Overall, I personally wouldn't go here but if you do , be careful.

Very clean! The bathrooms are absolutely gorgeous as well. The staff are always really nice. Don't get me started on the food! SO GOOD! We've had the salmon (which was my favorite), the steak, the tofu steak (the tofu was really soft so if you don't like soft tofu, I wouldnt recommend getting that) and the chicken. They were all so good, except the tofu steak. Again, it would probably be good if you like soft tofu.

Great Tapinaki experience! Food was plentiful and fresh. The entertainment was reasonably good...I'd go again! Around me the staff were coming out at different tables a ceremonial drum and a nice sweet treat for your birthday.

Pretty cool teppanyaki experience in Oakville! All items we ordered cooked very well table-side and tasted great. Being our first time here, we definitely appreciated the great hospitality by our awesome chef as well.

Good food and the price of a kids meal is very affordable. I strongly recommend coming here if you have young kids. There is lots of food to go around and the kids always love the teppanyaki style cooking.

Not a bad place for a medium sized group, but was expecting a little more after getting the most expensive thing on the menu.

It was a really nice experience! They have halal options. Personally i would say its a one time experience since it is expensive, but definitely worth it if you haven’t been at a hibachi before!
