This is our favourite sushi place of all time. The ambience, the food, the service is all top quality! This is our go-to sushi place if we are craving or want to introduce our friends and family here. The maki sushi are so big I can't go to a normal sushi place anymore, haha. Like, each piece of the sakura roll is as big as my fist. But it's both quantity and quality, the taste is so rich in flavour and the fish tastes so fresh. Our favourite item to order is their Creamy Miso Pasta. Everyone we have recommended it to love it as much as we do. It's so rich in flavour. I can never get a picture of their sushi tacos because we also eat them so fast but they are another must-try item on the menu. The interior is so aesthetically pleasing, the ambience is perfect for a date night, a group get together or to catch up with family. The staff are also very friendly.

Creamy Miso Pasta, Sushi Tacos

Today we went to Hay sushi to celebrate my birthday with my family of 15 people. Even though it's not a big restaurant, they were very thoughtful and welcoming to our big party with 7 adults and 8 children. They have kids utensils and high chairs all set up for the little ones. We ordered 100 pieces of sushi+sashimi party tray. The sushi and variety of fish was perfect and every piece of fish tasted so fresh and delicious. The hot dishes especially the sukiyaki & miso pasta, sea bass rice, and steak donburi were all very yummy! The kids enjoyed the salmon poke bowl and sushi a lot! Thanks Hay sushi for making my birthday extra special!

Update: I've eaten from here more than 5 times now and am sad to say that my initial experience didn't continue. Portions got smaller very fast(the amount of salmon in each spicy salmon was much less and all crunch.) I guess I was lucky the first 2 times. The spicy tuna I ordered today had no tuna in it. Seriously, I'm actually shocked... Original: I love this place. The sushi is fresh and delicious. The staff are very friendly. It's worth the price, so you should try this place out.

Food is so well prepared, tasty and well presented. I enjoyed every bite! Service is impeccable. Waiter was so attentive and ready to make feel comfortable after I told her it was freezing inside. They apparently need to keep it cold in the kitchen, for the sushi fish, but i think they could fix the are whete its kept, rather than the dining area. I am very cold but would love to come back and bring friends, with a heavy sweater Well done, the place is nice as well

I love every dish here, the torched sushi and miso cream pasta are my most favourite two dishes. I would really highly recommend them! You should also try their sashimi party set, everything is super fresh! Staff are friendly, professional and food comes out promptly even thought they are always busy! For table more than 2 you should book in advance, especially weekends.

Yum! Great little place in North York. We had the miso carbonara which was delicious! The truffle platter was equally great. Will come back to try a few more items and maybe some more platters and the tacos! The trio roll (crab, lobster, shrimp) was only okay. I’m not sure I would order that roll again. The service was attentive but not intrusive, and food came out at a good pace. Would be a great little place for a date night!

Food was quite delicious but wouldn't say it was amazing or mind blowing. The menu items have a fusion spin to it. The sushi was pretty typical but quite pricey for what you get. Service could be improved upon. Server missed two of our orders and it was pretty difficult to wave down someone during the busy times. Would go back again but too pricey for the quality to be considered as a regular spot.

Came for a week night dinner pretty full but got a seat. Had to try the Taco and wasn't disappointed at all. It was very crispy and quite big. Lots of filling and it tasted great big chunks of salmon. We also got the press, sushi, salmon, and shrimp. And it was OK nothing out of the ordinary. We also got the sushi assorted. And it was very fresh and also tasted very yummy. I do recommend this place. And we'll be coming back for more.

Salmon Nori Taco was excellent: fresh, well-balanced flavors and crispy seaweed shell. Sushi rice was perfectly seasoned, and thin onion slices added a nice touch. Tuna Poke bowl was also solid, with generous toppings and a balanced rice-to-toppings ratio. Excellent service: attentive, patient, and helpful. Pleasant atmosphere.

Food and service are both great. For quality that the sushi has, the price is reasonable. Also, the waiters and atmosphere is really nice. My girlfriend made an off handed comment that it was a bit too cold and I noticed the waitresses turning down the ac for us. I'll definitely come back again!
