Plus side: Easy Parking, Usually plenty sits available, good cinema in terms of tech (sits, sound, screen) Negatives: We were on Hoyts Lux show (theater 6) on Avatar move (+/- 3 h 15 min). First the signs to get to that theater are not clear. It says on the wall that theater 6 is on right (1-6 --> and 7 <--), where in reality theater 6 is on the left from the sign. We were just on time so clear indication where we need to go was critical so we could get there on time. Second thing food: chips weren't even decent, pizza felt like frozen one from coles, spring rolls were oil dripping. In general after eating that food we felt really sick all evening long. Third - service. And that is where a lot can be done cause it felt like people working in there are 100% not loving their job. We were watching 3D movie in Hoyts lux cinema expecting that service will be "lux", but it wasn't. First we ate popcorn and washed it down with beer. We had 2 empty boxes and 2 empty bottles on the table. Then waiter comes, drops chips and spring rolls on the same table and runs away without looking. Instead of cleaning empty bottles and boxes he/she just pushed it and left chips and spring rolls hanging right on the edge of the table. C'mon - it is not rocket science that in dark it is very easy to drop all this stuff on the floor. Why on earth empty boxes and bottles were not picked up from the table making enough room for the rest. Not to mention that having so much things on that tiny table obstructs your screen view when you are trying to watch 3D movie. Then exactly the same story happened with the main courses. All empty dishes from entrees were left on that tiny table. I had to call that person to clean the table because it was all falling from it and making mess. It just looked like service did not give a pickle what was on the table. It looked like they just wanted to come and dumpt stuff on the table and leave asap. It reminded me about COVID times when you ordered delivery and when it arrived you get a doorbell and as soon as you open door there is food dumped on the floor and nobody around - that is exactly the service we received in "Hoyts Lux 3D movie". To be clear - all staff members were still very polite and they were not in any way rude. I just feel they were never taught, that when serving food it is important to first clean the table which is the very basics you get when you go to any restaurant.

Went to the Onyx cinema because I heard the screen was amazing... Overall viewing experience was fine, but nothing overly special. Got there 30 minutes before the movie started, entered because there wasn't anyone inside. It was a mess, staff had plenty of time between sessions to clean, but they obviously did not. As you can see in my pictures, there's popcorn dumped on the floor, trash left on seats and in the 30 minutes I was in there waiting not one staff member walked in to even investigate if the place needed cleaning. The screen, sure it looked nicer than the ordinary screen, but don't go out of your way to experience it. It wasn't that much of a step up from your average cinema screen. Sound quality was meh, like watching a movie at home with regular surround sound speakers. After you wipe all the popcorn off the seats, they're fairly comfortable. The rows are nicely separated and private. The emergency exit lights are a bit bright and distracting, but not much you can do about that. Used my discover voucher, so I saw the movie for only 80c, so at least I don't feel ripped off, but I wouldn't want to pay full price for this "experience". To top it off, getting here sucks unless you have a car. Transport options are lacking big time.

Went to see Batman movie last night, decided to pay the extra to a normal cinema and was really looking forward to seeing this movie in a bit of comfort, and with amazing sound. EXTREMELY disappointed, no pun intended. The sound was terrible. It all came out of a couple of speakers at the front of the cinema. That was it! No sound from anywhere else. My own TV could have pumped out the sound far better and with more clarity. If you were sitting anywhere near the back you could barely hear what the characters were saying. When I could see what was happening, I decided to seek out the 'manager' and explain the situation, hoping for an easy fix. The 'manager' decided to send a couple of the kids from the ice cream counter to investigate with a torch. They came in, stood about halfway up the stairs for about 10 seconds and vanished. That was it!! It was an awful experience. If you are intending to visit today (3/04/22), do not go if your movie is in cinema 3, and have your fingers crossed for the other cinemas. You could be wasting your money. Dreadful experience, dreadful customer service.

I hadn’t been here for years, well back when they had a lounge and delivered food to your chair. But this newest refurbishment means lush plush grand seating with good lighting armrests and foot rests, list like being in cinema business class. The team is friendly and warm and welcoming. We got very nice and friendly service at the counters of ticket purchases and drinks and snacks. Whilst grossly overpriced an example is Twisties are $1.50 at coles and $6.40 at Hoyt’s but it is what it is. The cinema was large but not overly so, the seating is amongst the most comfortable I’ve ever experienced and the film and sound quality was very good, there’s cup holders. This is a lovely complexe, and has nice stores around it and a few good restaurants like a good Italian option the German style place and a slightly overpriced for margaritas Mexican place. All right there to have any numerous delights in food before or after your film. Love this cinema and the staff are simply superb, Thank you, I will return. A LIKE IS APPRECIATED FROM YOU IF YOU READ MY REVIEWS

Went to this venue for the first time last night. Upon coming into Hoyts we weren’t greeted, he just scanned our ticket and told us where to go. The man outside the Lux lounge just handed us our menu book and we headed in. We called staff in to make an order and the first guy said “I need your card (pause) unless you don’t trust me”. I headed out to the counter to pay as I only had my phone. I paid and he handed me 2 glasses and pointed at the straws. For the lux experience, I was already disappointed as they should have brought my drinks in. I had to head to the counter again to pay for a bottle of water. The EFT machine was wireless, which they could’ve brought inside the cinema like they do at other venues. Staff didn’t feel friendly and inviting - No smiles, no please and thank yous. Let’s talk about parking. We weren’t told to validate our ticket inside Hoyts so we ended up paying $30 instead of $7. Overall there is a lack of communication from Hoyts staff as they should have been more welcoming from the start. Don’t recommend Lux here

  • Richard Farr

This review is for Lux only. The bar area is nice but the cleanliness of the toilets ar Lux is shocking. Old, run-down with unsafe wobbly toilet seats. Then sofas in bar area are filthy, and the cracks and sides have probably NEVER been vacuumed as they are full of sticky stuff, and dust and let over food bits. The cinema room is very cold, guessing about 16 to 17 degrees, not very comfortable temperature. The seats in the cinema are very nice and comfortable and cleaner than the ones at the bar which is a relief. Service from the staff was prompt and professional, well done, and they looked smart which was great. Picture screen and sound was fantastic, really felt immersive and the right volume. Overall I think the place just needs a makeover. Use the toilets downstairs at the general cinema, cleaner and nicer.

  • Helena Tran

Went for the D-BOX experience to watch Top Gun Maverick and it was great! The seats were moving in sync with the movie, making it a fun immersive experience. Being able to control the motion intensity was also great as we could tailor the experience to our liking. The seats in the D-BOX room are also very comfortable, and reclinable. The tickets weren’t much more expensive than the regular tickets, so I’d definitely recommend it (just the comfort of the seats make it worth it!) About the overall cinema experience, we were happy with it: the cinema was clean, the screen was great, and there were many choices of snacks & drinks (they were expensive but not surprisingly so for cinema’s food). The only downside was that the popcorn got a bit too salty at the end.

  • Alistair Pearson

This is the most disgusting cinema I have ever been. So bad I felt the need to immediately leave a review. The minute I entered I could just see dirty floors, unkempt seating areas. There was a ketchup burst all over the floor which was still there when I left 3 hours later. The carpets were filthy there was just mess everywhere. When we got to our allocated seats they were disgusting. Covered in smudged chocolate, popcorn, old wrappers and sticky floors. When going the toilet I thought I was walking into a nightclub at the end of a night. Toilet paper everywhere, urine everywhere, overflowing toilets. I walked straight out along with many other frustrated customers. Do yourself a favour and try another cinema!!

This is the second day in a row that I have tried coming to enjoy some relaxation time over my very rare time off over weekends. Yesterday my seat wasn't working and well guess what? Today it wasn't either. It took us chasing around to find the staff to assist and the only reason I'm even giving 3 stars is because of the assistance and kindness of the manager who assisted me yesterday and Joseph who assisted me today. Such a shame, this is my favourite cinema, I drive around 40-50 minutes to come here just for the cinema. The place is still stunning and the cinema is very pretty but sadly so far I've had awful luck with the DBox seats.

  • Leanne White

We booked the Xtreme cinema very glad we didn't pay full price for the tickets. The recliners are very comfortable but the whole complex looked like it hadn't been cleaned all afterrnoon and was dirty. The bins were overflowing and so people had stacked popcorn boxes and cups on and around the bins. Inside the cinema a broom had been used to clean up parts of the floor but there was still a lot of mess on the floor. Seats appeared to have been wiped down but one of ours had some kind of dried food on it. Not a great experience

  • Niki Vasiliadis

Awesome cinema - the Xtream screen here is massive! The cinema is super comfy with recliner seats and a good distance between rows and seats. Plenty of snacks to chose from - Frozone, chips, lollies, popcorn etc and there is also a bar that serves alcohol. I reckon more seating in the foyer is needed so people can hang out before heading into the cinema. Toilets are well maintained. 3hr free parking is available at Wilson with a validated ticket - do this at the cinema. Lots of options for pre or post movie food at EQ.

  • Ali Bokdad

If zero stars was an option I would bloody hesitate. Came for a late night session to watch the new fast X, firstly not enough popcorn secondly no drinks where working and when we went to go order then after already pouring and picking was was left of the popcorn he then informs us that we cannot purchase anything after deliberately seeing us do everything and then telling us. So disappointing, came to see a movie that I was excited about although I ended up sitting with nothing to snack on. Thanks Hoyts, thanks…

  • Kamran Sathar

First time going for Hours Lux experience, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Parking tickets can be validated here. Complimentary drink and popcorn was included. Overall food is still overpriced. We ordered a pizza which we felt could have been better for the price paid. That said, we also ordered churros that was served warm and fresh. Would recommend the overall experience but if Hoyts addressed the pricing for quality ratio, it would push more patrons to consider a Lux ticket on a regular basis.

  • Deanna Nicholas

Really really cool looking cinema ! The prices are a bit expensive if you're buying more than one ticket but otherwise the onyx screen was really amazing! Like you were in the movie and the sound was awesome. I'm going to go there again today to watch the elementals and I'm looking forward to it ! Unfortunately last time I went the parking lot ticket thingy wasn't working properly but we fixed it by going to the paying station near the parking lot so all good!.

  • Anas Awais

I have been in love with Hoyts ever since I came to Aus but sometimes the experience at Entertainment Quarter isn't really great. It has happened twice with me that the screen has turned off due to "technical issues" during the movie and the audio is playing. Contacted the Hoyts staff (after trying to find them in 10 minutes because no one was there) and they told us nothing can't be done. Anywhoo, still great place, don't turn it into a waste.

  • Enyi

Watched a film at Xtremescreen 3 and the seats we booked were dirty with scattered popcorn. The food outlet area is messy too with spilled and stepped on candies. They really should just make the parking 4 hrs free for cinema goers as some films can get to 180min. Still ended up paying for the extra hour when a bit over. Seats, screen and audio is exceptionally high as per usual Hoyts standard.

  • Bailey Goncalves

Spiderverse was great. Although this is very much a hands off hoyts. Which was weird, i could have very easily walked in to the theatre no questions asked. As i did not see any employees . This is not necessarily a bad thing. But just something of note. Only real complaint were the toilets being unkept, and the IMAX seats having lots of popcorn from previous shows squished between my seats.

  • Lee Anne

Easy parking(3 hrs free with validation) Friendly staff. Clean chairs and tables. Pre movie lounge area was modern palatial. Friendly in - movie waiters. Unfortunately they won't serve you soft drink to your seat you have to back out to the bar to collect (soft drink is free). Cocktails were delicious one of the best I have had but small serve. Food was ok.

  • Chloe

Love that all the chairs are recliners. They are comfy and big. Plenty of leg room, and because the chairs are big you don't feel like your packed in like sardines. I wouldn't go anywhere else now! The cinema isn't always very clean with popcorn spilt everywhere etc. But I guess they don't have time to hoover it up between each showing.

  • whimsicalme

We want a refund on our movie tickets. We drove to entertainment quarter and couldn't even get in to park the car because all the people watching soccer the same night already booked the car park out in advance. What a joke! They shouldn't be able to do that. At a minimum you should be telling patrons to take public transport or walk.

  • Saigo Takamoto

Worst Chips ever conceived in the universe…I paid $9 for these half frozen chips, what’s embarrassing is I used to work at this same cinema a couple years back and we used to give a whole bowl of amazing chips, this quality and lack of care is truly sad. While cinema venue is great and cinema experience also great - food is horrible.

  • David Williamson

Cinema is great. Lovely and spacious atrium. Onyx is very good indeed. Only problem, parking... You might get an extra hour validating but if you go over 3 hours (Napoleon, Oppenheimer etc) you get back charged from 2. Not worth it. Too far to walk fully exposed from the Light rail. Will go to George St Event instead in future.

  • Joe Lan

Absolutely amazed by this place. Why didn’t I come to this place earlier. The lobby is gorgeous. Service is good. And the cinema is by far the best in Sydney wether you buy the regular tickets or lux. It will definitely worth the money. I will definitely come again and recommend to anyone who loves a good cinematic experience.

  • Hunter Bryce

The Onyx screen is very clear and bright, but the sound is nowhere near as good as what their old IMAX screen was. The seats are very confortable. The cinema building has been decorated in retro style and is quite stunning, especially when lit up at night. The staff are friendly, especially dueing the week when it's quieter.

  • Katie Kwok

Love the vibes here and super hyper and friendly staff! Was in a bad mood before going in but they did a great job to bring up guess's mood for the fun games! 100% in love with the games and setting there and would love to visit again. Their income will be donated to charity so it's also very motivating to spend money there!

  • Flavio Rossi

Utter scam! When checking online ticket availability for Operation Fortune - ‘Standard’ showing was presented one the website. Upon arriving, the showing was changed to ‘Lux’. Of course our ticket vouchers could not be used. Hoyts continues to get worse. Will be sticking to Dendy and Palace for future trips to the cinema.

  • Pete W

Large cinema located close to the Moore Park light rail line - only about 10 minutes walk. Good selection of movies and times available. However, the cinema itself is a bit dated and there's no free parking onsite if you're arriving after 6pm. You'll have to park near the light rail and walk over instead.

  • Penny Christie

It’s been a long time since I attended a movie at Hoyts in the Entertainment Quarter. It was actually really cool. The theatre I went into was huge and each seat was a big comfortable recliner with plenty of room for popcorn and drinks. The popcorn was good and there was plenty of snack to purchase.

  • BonnieFav95

Walked in and had great service. Employees were very nice and understanding. Seats were soo comfy and reclined like I was in a bed. Loved the movie also (FNAF) and people were at the back be very annoying and the staff handled it so well and removed them from the place so we could enjoy the movie.

  • J V A

Nice ultra modern cinema, great seats, the cinema is clean and lots of space. Food and beverages are expensive $$$ Plenty of parking in the entertainment quarter car park and free for 3 hours if you visit the cinema. Plenty of restaurants and a few bars nearby to hangout before or after the movie.

  • Caroline GeaGea

This is the perfect place to watch a movie with your friends and family. We went to watch the Barbie movie here and had a great experience. From the lux ticket, comfortable seats, to the service and location of this theatre it has it all! Only thing missing is my fav snack, gummy bears, JM

  • Ant0n G

One of the best Hoyts cinema in Sydney, with occasional special events such as advance preview screenings in the IMAX theatre. IMAX screen is huge, great sound & nice accoustic. Although the seats are not recliners they are comfortable & air conditioning is just at the right temperature.

  • Dan

Back in the day, HOYTS was my local, after I moved, I frequented palace cinemas and a few independents. Then I went back to HOYTS and, they have a better Customer service experience, better self serve drinks, popcorn and lollies, better seats, better screen, better audio. Go to HOYTS.

  • kate brooks

We have had several great experiences with Manager William (Entertainment Quarter) who is a leader and offers exceptional customer service. He is friendly, helpful and warm. A great example of a leader for his staff.. any business that has a desire to be successful needs a William !!

  • L C

Shout out to the team who looked after our vacation care group for DC Superpets. We got given the lux cinema to ourselves which made supervision so much easier. The children felt very spoilt. The staff were so friendly and helpful, our boss was very impressed. Y'all are awesome!

  • Gustavo Faverão

Great cinema, very good snacks selection, popcorn sizes a bit small and expensive, clean facilities and great sound quality, and apart from all of that, it is very well located, close to restaurants like el Camino, Bavarians and Fratello brothers, good pub on the outside area!

  • Stephen Pasfield

Exciting environment offers a cinema experience with patient and helpful staff for the uninitiated. The LUX class comes with a free popcorn and service to seat, and most importantly, parking validation. Good wines, beers and spirits available at fair prices to be taken in.

  • Sunny Sharma

If you can, book a session with Xtremescreen and the Dolby Atmos... Since the IMAX isn't open yet, this experience is the next best imo. Great staff, ample parking nearby, arcade to play before or after a movie. Great cinema experience from start to finish.

  • Vinicius Borghetti

Excellent service. My chips got ready after the movie started and the staff brought them to me into the room. Chairs were reclinable and very comfortable. I recommend the Extremescreen for a better experience, dolby audio makes all the difference.

  • S LC

If I could leave a zero I would.. walked up to pay for our food and there were 4 staff members standing in a circle on their phones giggling none of which acknowledged myself and my partner. We eventually asked if someone could serve us and

  • spencer tinson

Pretty much the best screens and sound in NSW, great seats, clean, never busy and of your a member very reasonable price. Of all the cinemas I've visited this is the one I always return to. Xtreme Screen 2 is the best screen going for sure.

  • Alex Rodov

Terrible service, food took over an hour to arrive, first it was wrong, then it was cold. Desert forgotten and didn't arrive even after 3 reminders, popcorn soggy, seats filthy. Staff rude and useless. Such disappointment. Go elsewhere

  • Moses H.

If you want to see how a business should be operated and managed, go and see William (Manager at Entertainment Quarter) in action !!.. he is the PERFECT example for his staff !!.. he always goes above & beyond, leaving you satisfied !!

  • Chris Gevaux

Recently saw a movie here in the D-Box cinema and it was fantastic, seats were comfy although slightly short for anyone above average height. The motion and feedback experience was excellent, they seemed to be of varying strength even

  • Shirley Dundovic

Most the staff were welcoming except the bar staffer who appeared to be in charge for the day . Appeared to be training someone which is a concern when instead of greeting you just says move to the other side without acknowledging you

  • Alan Schliemann

Usual good time at Luxe though disappointed "not available ' on apple pie as they only offered 3 desserts. Also they lost our order so food delivery was delayed. Food ordering was chaotic even though they had 2 to 3 people serving

  • William Wang

A great venue for a movie night out with many restaurant options available inside Entertainment Quarter. Wilson parking is 2 hour free as well. Just look for Hoyts signs as it may be a bit hard to find for the 1st time comers.

  • Joe W

Generally easy to get to and no fuss as you can drive and get parking in the structure. Only issue is when you are watching a really long movie like Avengers Infinity War. The ticket validation didn't cover it.

  • Alice

Totally disappointed by the cleanliness of the venue, the toilets were so so bad hardly any cubicles had toilet roll and the one that did the door diddnt lock, looked like no one had cleaned up all weekend.

  • Harrison Triantafyllou

Good cinema with a few options re. screen size etc. the 4D is good for blockbusters but lacks the wind etc. of some other cinemas. Parking is generally 2hrs but can be extended to 3hrs with validation.

  • Candice .T

Very poor experience at Hoyts Lux with poor levels of cleanliness of the seats and service issues with the staff. One star for the nice look of the cinema exterior. Won't be returning unfortunately.

  • Kelsey Dunstone

Stunning venue, and whilst we've had a hit and miss experience before, the absolute professionalism and friendly, genuine personalities of Amy and Ebony are second to none - they are fantastic!

  • Cameron Ellis

Always my preference for catching an early session. Close parking and easily accessible, and the cinemas (at least when I go there) are always clean. Modern seats and cinema. Nice and comfy!

  • Mehran RH

Good, Modern cinema with recliners and newer screens. Watch Avatar 2 there recently and was amazing. Friendly staff ! :) Hoyts customers get 3 hour parking instead on standard 2.

  • Peter Oeding-Erdel

Good range of cinema offerings. But the whole quarter area is run down and definitely seen better days. Parking cost is also a deterant. Not everyone can take public transport

  • Skeeve Stevens

Average. Has DBox now, but bathrooms are still disgusting. They do seem to have fixed the frozen drink machine after a year of being broken. A couple of screens need cleaning

  • Nina

Love Hoyts so much. But the popcorn at Entertainment Quarter is way way too salty. Please make the popcorn like Hoyts Broadway does, with much less salt. Thanks …

  • Harold Josman

Comfortable seating, reasonably clean and in good condition. Audio visual great across all cinemas. Still an enjoyable experience to watch movies with fresh popcorn.

  • Richard Reid

Awesome cinema, came back after a number of years and the cinema was really clean. The Extreme Screen is mad, perfectly matched with the Dolby Atmos

  • Mathieu Mailhos

Made me pay an extra dollar for pop corn. The staff was quite rude too when I told them. Sound was too high during ads. Otherwise chairs were nice.

  • Richard Green

Comfy spacious seats with good cinema tech. Overflowing bins, food and its packaging on floor, in the gloomy poorly lit entrace areas. sad staff.

  • z3173054

The toilets were atrocious. Staffing was minimum. I went to the xtreme cinemas and the screen wasn’t that big. It was just dirty the whole place.

  • Cally JJ

Very clean and spacious. Extremely completable recliner seats. For a spot so convenient to reach from the city, the cinema is never overcrowded

  • Kenn MacRae

Not cheap but awesome, comfortable viewing, very friendly staff. Would've been nice to know about parking validation though!! 30 bucks wasted

  • Diane

Had an issue with my movie tickets which they sorted out really easily. Super professional and very friendly bunch, it’s my go to cinema

  • Pradeep Narsupalli

One of the unique screens they got. Special mention to their Xtreme screen with Dolby 7.1 surround system and Onyx 4k HDR screens.

  • Sandra Liuimaitė

My new fav Movie place in Sydney! The sound and screen was super high quality. Everything so clean! Ah and so comfortable seats!

  • Ulan Dookwah

Was awesome. Clean. Chairs comfy and reclines. Room to drinks on arms. I was impressed. Was there for ghostbusters premier.

  • alison farrell

Comfy chairs. The sound system is good. One person serving is not so good. Person serving was kind and efficient.

  • Leeroy Brown

Cinema is good but with new plate scan in the carpark you don't get a discount. Disappointing

  • Sachin Raut

Worth watching a movie here as you can plan a whole day with restaurants and gaming's around

  • Stephen Carney

Love this cinemas for its seamless uncomplicated approach to experiencing a film

  • Ben Amandar

I guess the best cinema in Sydney by far, screens are not the largest though

  • Bradley Chapman

never been to this hoyts before and can say I LOVED IT! Service was great

  • Dan Tang

Choice location with lots of parking nearby... Recommended.
