8:30am, I’m stood waiting at the till for around 10 minutes, with no one behind the register to serve me. Guy making the coffees 5ft away didn’t acknowledge or reassure me that someone would be there soon to take my order. I asked him if it would be possible to get served, to which he just raised his eyebrows. He then popped his head round the corner, started speaking Spanish and a lady came strolling out. I told her that the customer service was really poor (which may have been a bad idea). The lady who served me and the guy making coffee, then once again started speaking Spanish to one another. Little do they know I speak basic Spanish, and it was something a long the lines of “don’t make the coffee”. I then waited a further 10 minutes whilst 5 people who ordered after me began to get their coffee. I asked the guy (overly politely) if he could make mine next, and he quite literally blanked me and walked away. I had to ask another lady if she could make it and she didn’t say a word. It looked like it killed her to serve me. In short, staff are horrendously rude. They’ll speak amongst themselves thinking you don’t understand and try their best to make your experience unpleasant. Seems like this has happened on a few occasions given the other reviews. Honestly, I won’t ever eat at GYG’s again.

This location is right in the heart of the CBD. Just 3 mins walk from Wynyard station exiting from George Street, the restaurant is located at Australia Square. Ample space to sit, but during peak hours of office, you may find yourself with no spot. I usually order on their app as it's quick and easy and let's me choose my last order easily. Their burrittos are quite nice, along with a lot of the items on the menu. Love their churoos!

An overall rating of "meh" is most appropriate. I ordered a spicy burrito and chips... The Burrito was "meh" and the chips were cold and not crispy at all. Chips were made first and kept on the side waiting another 5-7 minutes for the burrito to be ready. Overall, there's many better food options at Australia Square than a dead average burrito + cold chips from GYG. I won't be revisiting.

Ordered a Mild Chicken Burrito with Chipotle Mayo today. For some reason, there was only rice and chicken inside, and virtually no chipotle mayo. No beans, cheese, and pico de gallo at all. It was very odd, I haven’t had such a plain burrito before. Label clearly says to add chipotle mayo, and not almost all ingredients to be removed. It was too busy to take back and I didn’t have the time. Very disappointing.

We had nice time here but we were extremely disappointed with food. Considering that it is Mexican food in question it was flavourless. It was so bland I wanted to go to Ryan's and get salt and pepper shakers, some chilly peppers etc :/ The people that work in kitchen spoke Spanish so let's presume that they are from Mexico, they could have made it more authentic. Will give them one more try. On the other hand beer was delicious and people who are working there are really friendly.

Nico from Australia Square gyg is just the best. He makes the best coffee which is just how I like it. Even when service is busy, he is able to juggle multiple counters, whilst still making coffee. Attitude and friendliness is second to none. The rest of the team are equally amazing. Atmosphere is relaxed and spacious, unlike some other branches. 3 thumbs up for Australia Sq GYG and special call-out to Nico.

I went today to eat something quick and had a terrible experience. The tacos were completely wet from the lettuce water, plus the chicken taco had almost no chicken. I went to the counter and the person who delivered the orders checked my food with a fork without my permission, he was super rude to me saying "that’s how tacos are". Don't waste your money on this place

Laura made our food and it was so so good. Best cali burritos my friend and I have ever had. Friendly staff and when we went up to say thank you, Laura was lovely. Definitely get your Guzman from here!

Don't visit after 2pm... The staff seem to switch off. Takes ages to get the order right. The photo was of a burrito and chips... Note the lack of chips! Also the burrito is badly made, fell apart after one bite. During core hours 12-1:30.. The service is great and the quality is better

First time trying their food as I heard a lot from my friends but the food was not that good as compared to other options around. We ordered Grilled Chicken Salad and Large Grilled Chicken Nacho fries. Their presentation and taste was good but quantity is bit less as per the price.

Came here because it's the only one of the very few restaurants that open on Sunday. Nacho is pretty bland. Would have this when there's nothing else to eat.
