I've been to every used book store in Toronto and this is the best; great selection of books, nicely curated displays, homey atmosphere, and great prices. The owner and employees are pleasant and welcoming. You could easily plan an idyllic Sunday with a late- morning streetcar ride up Kingston Rd, drop by The Great Escape, then walk down through Glen Stewart Ravine to spend the afternoon reading on the beach. It's the one thing I miss about living in Toronto.

Used to come here lots and rediscovered recently. Helpful staff in this treasure trove, organized around themes (fiction, self help, history, young adult etc). Sells mainly used books, mostly very good condition so prices reflect. We found some French language books we were looking for, reasonably good selection. Good place to browse on rainy day!

never have i ever been so lost in a book store, it's so cozy and amazing and full of good vibes. the best thing about this place is the owner who's so awesome, she basically knows each title and has probably read each book. I've been there just once and got 4 books and I'm pretty sure I'll vist this place again. SOON!

I recommend visiting the store to get a true feel for the environment. Katiha, (I may not have the right pronunciation), but the owner's daughter was found to be accommodating, and knowledgeable of the items that the store contains. I would go again. New item are put on the floor every day.

Ok, Wow. I actually love this bookstore!!!! The nice young man helped me find a book that i needed! Oh boy the price was right as well! You can bet on it! Also the aesthetics of this store are off the chain! Floor to ceiling books make for a lovely environment!

I'm not a local in this area, but this feels like what would be a local book store. They have SO MANY books here, and I found many that I had liked or wanted, for a reasonable price. Definitely recommend this place. If you're lucky, you'll get to see the pup!

It has been a very efficient source of Books of Poetry and Language Literature... Very affordable prices for priceless knowledge and information. I'll recommend to anyone who is looking for certain unique Books. Lights up the neighborhood literally!

This is an amazing store! The son of the owner knew immediately where to find half a dozen books of different genres that I was looking for. The used books are in excellent condition and very well priced. I will be shopping here for all my books.

Small, but it’s a cozy place if your looking for used books. Me and my dad always love to visit when we are looking for books we haven’t read yet. Definitely has my recommendation for the best book store in the city! :3

Bookstores like this are a treasure and offer a selection that isn’t carried by Indigo or Coles. Tons of used hard to find titles. Rather give my biz to places like this than support already wealthy investors.

Very cute little shop. Used book stores are dying out so it's a treasure. The store is a little cramped and the prices seem a bit high. Parking can be a little tricky as Kingston road is quite busy.

I’ve been going here for years. It had a fairly recent change in management but it’s managed to retain the authentic vibe it gives off. Great selection, helpful staff and a handy credit system.
