I saw the news last night of the guy opening the safe that was locked for years. I have not been in the hotel for a number of years. [Retired]. I do have memories of the place from years back. Ran into a guy I used to work for years ago and had a nice chat with the old bloke. Long passed away since then. A slice of pizza was $1.oo, many years ago and it was tasty. Vendor was available. I assume it still is? Time for a return visit, I think.

I rated my experience, and then specifically can back to add a comment due to the condescending reply. This organization and its operators are wildly unprofessional. For example, look at every single reply to a experience rating. If you can't collectively learn from how patrons are feeling about your organization and the immediate response is "well others like it" ..... you fail to actually use these feedbacks effectively. I empathize with whomever is writing these replies, it must physically hurt having such a large ego and lack of self awareness. Stay humble.

The alcoholic beverages are cheap, except for when they have events going on, such as: live bands, dj's, etc. The bartender wasn't very friendly (not sure if he was having a bad day), but he made the drinks quickly and correctly. They have 2 VLT machines, a dancefloor, tables, and a couple of retro arcade games. When I went, they had a dj playing techno type of music. It was interesting, but we only stayed for a couple of drinks.

Worked here for 3 weeks doing all the windows in the building even stopped by the bar on Friday very well ran place Gary is a very good owner and very accommodating to his employees/ tenants will definitely be back!!! If I could give more then 5 stars I would!!!

Been here a few times, both on my own and in a large group. The place reminds me of my small, hometown bar. Great prices, excellent service, a jukebox with good tunes and a cool atmosphere. Most of all, I always feel welcome and safe! This place is definitely a gem of downtown.

A great clean bar with friendly regulars a great 3.95 draft the owners awesome its a great atmosphere lots of history and probly the safest old hotel you could go to deffinitly worth stopping by after work

I worked for them for a few weekends. I quit because Gary is a bully and belittled staff in front of customers and other employees Refuses to pay me for time worked. OVER $200. A real class act. He treats his staff like 2nd class citizens controlling bully STAY AWAY!!

This place is not only a greasy dive (which I usually like about bars) but it’s run by a lot of crooks and creeps - I’m not sure how it is as simply a patron but this is the worst place to play in Winnipeg. I am never stepping foot in this piece of garbage again.

Cool little dive bar - cheap beer. Went to watch a punk show - the space is a bit too small for that much sound & I wish there was more room for people to stand and watch in front of the stage area. Had a fun time, will likely be back.

Beer was cheap and customer service was on point, the atmosphere was great as well. Will be visiting again. (One little question do you guys rent rooms at all?).

Went there recently for the first time in decades. Ran into a fella I knew back in the day. Sat down, good chat, soon all his friends joined in and we had a terrific time! Nice, homey, clean place with a lot of history.

Can't help but to go back there. More like a family atmosphere. Everyone knows each other. Lots of laughter & good music & dancing. Bartenders Ron & Rob are the best.

The Garrick hotel is the best place to get a drink on a hot day also they rent rooms I have happily been living here for some time now great owner and mantnece staff

Greasy, some shady characters, but most of the customers are there just to have a good time. Staff does a bang up job of making sure everyone is taken care of.

Well its a carefully constructed lie to keep me locked up on the top floor running a gauntlet. Big mess there its only shelter I'm moving.
