Update: lift has been out of order for 15 days until it was fixed on 15/11 and then broke again on 17/11. Go figure. Cannot agree with all the good reviews saying how great Epping in general and the station is. I've been living and getting the train in Epping for the past 4 months and hate the area and the station. Already the lift between the street and the station on the shops side of Beecroft Road has been out of order more times than I remember. In all the suburbs I've lived in, in 20 years the lifts in those stations were only ever out 2, possibly 3 times that I remember and fixed by the next day. "High usage" is not an excuse - Town Hall has massive use and I've never once seen their lifts out of order. Not only that, Epping station does nothing about it, the barriers blocking the door have not been moved at all indicating no one has been there all week to fix it. Recently the lift from Beecroft Rd to the station on the shops side has been out of order for 8 days and counting, with the "expected end date" updating each day in the Tripview app. Considering it is now a Friday, there will be no one on the weekend to fix it and the earliest possible date it will be fixed is Tuesday since morning or (highly unlikely) Monday afternoon, making it more than a week out of order. Last week one of the lifts to the underground platforms was out of order too for 4 days, almost an entire working week, but at least there is another lift going to the same platform. However as another person said, Epping itself is massively congested, and the station seriously needs more lifts, unfortunately for which there is no space. I absolutely agree. The lifts to the underground metro platforms are never enough - it is shared by people using the lift to go down to platforms 1 and 2, forcing it to make a stop in between. By the time the lift arrives in platform 5/6, it is a mad dash to the metro trains, which for some strange reason was built several metres away from the actual lift so even the closest carriage is still some distance away. The metro trains are driverless so will shut the door on you if you are a split second late dashing in to the train. I have major mobility problems and cannot run and cannot climb stairs without extreme difficulty so the lack of lifts is just an indescribable pain. There is only one lift to the station from Beecroft Rd on the side from which pedestrians would come from (the regularly broken one), and given the high patronage, the lift is never fast or large enough. There is another lift on the other side of Beecroft Rd but pedestrians need to make a huge detour by traveling three sides of a rectangle by walking up the street to the corner of Beecroft and Epping Road, cross the road across 6 lanes of traffic without a single pedestrian crossing or traffic light to the other side, walk back down Beecroft Rd and get the other lift. Not sure if Epping (the suburb and the station) was built like this because of bad design and with no consideration the current usage, or if it's a victim of circumstances and what was originally a working design became like this after it gradually adapted (poorly) to the current situation. Either way something needs to be done about it. Because of the design of the suburb and station, all pedestrians not using the station use the lift too to cross the road after say shopping at Coles. This is not their fault but creates inconveniences for station users. Epping suburb in general is also horribly congested on all sides around the block where the station is so drivers would be no doubt be against adding a red light yet pedestrians probably need/want it given the stupid station footbridge lift is usually not working.

It's a nice station but when an 8 car train stops on platform 3, the front car stops at the very end of the platform. This means the last car stops way past the metro entrance and the stairs, and past the escalators. It's crazy as it means people have an extra 70m walk to the metro entrance which can be the difference between getting your train and missing it. Everyone else crowds around the escalators to the concourse rather than taking advantage of the stairs up. For anyone with a disability they have to go another 20m to get to the lifts. All in all, it's a safety , accessibility and convenience nightmare. The simple solution: move the 8 car marker 2 car lengths south of where it currently is. There's zero reason to leave it where it is. Please like if you agree!

I’m in an electric wheelchair and there was 3 minutes between my connecting trains, I had to go up in the lift and made it back down the the platform as the train was pulling out and the next train was not for half an hour on a freezing day. Not only that when the train arrived and he was going to put me on a carriage where I would have to face backwards, so he rolled his eyes at me!! If I were at Hornsby station the train guard would have radiod through and they would have waited for me an extra 30 seconds also they put me where I like to go not where they tell me... very unhappy with the service received there today.

This location is a major public transport junction. From this point you can catch trains to Sydney and the Central Coast-Newcastle - some are express to Sydney’s Central station. You can also catch Sydney Metro services from here - these services currently travel deep into Sydney’s northwest and southeast to Chatswood - and, in several years time there will be a direct metro service to Sydney’s CBD and southwest region. There are connecting bus services located on both side of the rail line. There’s also a good variety of shops, cafes, restaurants and hotels on both sides of the railway station.

This station is very very convenient. Epping is quite a large interchange, though it doesn't look like a large interchange on the Sydney Trains Map. This station has changes to the new Sydney Metro Line (Chatswood - Tallawong) and the T9 Northern Line, which was T1 earlier this year. This station has express trains to Newcastle, Wyong and Central. You can take on top of these express trains, InterCity trains, which go to places like Orange and Blackheath. Practicality: 8/10 Aesthetic: 6/10 It's a neat little place, and it's quite handy. You can also get some good trainspotting done here.

I collapsed on the train and needed medical assistance. What do I get? I had 6 security officers board the train and 1 of them kicked me in the bottom to "see if I was awake". They said I wasn't and that I was in my mid to late 20s and on drugs and left the train and didn't give me ANY assistance! I was then left on the train in pain all the way until Central! It was disgusting what happened to me and I will NEVER forget it!

I wish to give high recommendation to the lovely young lady who was on duty today at Epping railway station. I had waited a very long time for a friend who had missed trains and had been delayed. The lovely young lady was very kind, caring and courteous and even offered to buy me a cup of coffee as I had not taken my purse, many thanks for making my wait more pleasurable.

Bathrooms relatively clean (for a train station). Staff are friendly and wiling to help. The layout is efficient but there are two platforms underground, I have seen people that need to transfer to other trains get confused and following the crowd up to the concourse.just to realize they need to go down instead.

I've forgot my bag at the train station and luckly, Mr. Hassan the station duty manager help us a lot to find my bag with some important documents on it. He also try to find me on social media. Thank you so much Sir Hassan, big shout out for you and all the staff of Epping station ❤️ …

Epping railway station is a railway station in Epping, in the northern region of Sydney. It is served by Sydney Trains T9 Northern Line, NSW TrainLink Central Coast & Newcastle Line, and Metro North West Line services. The metro station is underground. Reasonable passenger amenities.

  • Luke Vadekar

Convenient station. Sydney Metro has replaced the original underground ECRL (Epping to Chatswood Rail Link) and goes all the way to Tallawong. You can also catch trains to Hornsby via Normanhurst and trains to Central, Newcastle or Wyong overground. Hope this review helped someone...

This is a station. It is a decently nice station. Good amount of platforms. I like that the station has kept some of the old architecture even if all the new monstrous buildings of Epping attempt to overshadow the heritage of the suburb. The trains are ok.

  • Sayanti Guha

A connecting station that has both train and metro lines. Always busy. Always staffed. Clean and has vending machines that remains full. Has lifts from street to station as well. Haven’t ever had any issues with elevator not working. Bus

  • Jono Nolan

Too much congestion of people when they get off the metro train. Need more escalators and lifts. One set of escalators going up which was full of people. Two sets of escalators with no people. Should use the third set more wisely.

  • Brian Chan

Metro is really cool and convenient for lots of people, however, there are always a lot of students from a wide range of schools and it kind of overcrowds the whole platform. Typically very clean and nice atmosphere.

  • Stelio Pappas

It's a massive failure that a southbound train leaves Epping moments before the Chatswood line passengers arrive at Epping in the evening peak. -It adds 15mins to a commute unnecessarily. Only in New South Fails!

  • Neil Robinson

Marvelous Metro Station, safety barriers on platform and wheelchair ♿️ accessible. Modern underground station ( unlike some stations in London),clean and tidy environment. Wonderful Line to travel on.

  • Asquenn

Got a lot busier after the metro was introduced. It's clean (even cleaner in the underground platforms) and the lifts seem to never break for me (even though people complain about that a lot).

  • Tamara Mehta

Am in Sydney now in suburbs called Epping. It's a lovely place. You get everything at walking distance. People are so friendly, and you get to see all nationality. …

Cleanest toilet of a train station! Deserves a golden star! But time schedule for changing trains is not so well - have to wait 15 mins maxi for train to Pennant Hills line

  • Abby Liu

not a fan of the claustrophobia-inducing escalators from above ground to metro platforms. also, where is platform 4? is it real? did it ever exist? where did it go?

  • G Y L

  • Dylan Richardson

Very helpful staff! Went the extra mile in order to help me find a lost item over the space of four hours, yet never neglecting their duties.

  • Ooi Wen Yi

Station link night ride services should consider dimming the internal light while transiting for greater passenger's comfort.

  • Amy Wu

This train station is linked to Hornsby, Rhodes, Chatswood and Wondabyne. Metro trains runs every 10 minutes on weekends.

  • Rooftop Escape campers

Great station especially with new addition of metro connection . Modern and clean design, easy changing of trains .

  • Elke Burnett

Needs more seating. The metro is private so the trains will never connect on time with any of the other trains
