I came here with my family as we haven't been to a Spanish place in years, and it hasn't disappointed me. It is primarily a bar but it does good as a restaurant. The food is quite good and filling as well. It is certainly high quality for how much we paid. There is a very large variety of food items in the menu and a very large number of drinks, mostly alcoholic in nature but there are non alcoholic drinks, all soft drinks, no Coke though but Pepsi is ok. The service is very nice. The staff are polite but also quick to come and go, so they aren't staring at you eating but not lingering after you order. The atmosphere around the restaurant is good, the ground floor is a bit crowded and tight, it is pretty crowded at around 18:30 and 19:00, there is a basement but I haven't seen it before. It is a bit loud to the point where you do have to raise your voice to hear what the people on your table are talking about. 7/10 Great food Good service Good atmosphere Might come again if I have the chance or with family.

We dined here recently on a Friday evening and the upstairs downstairs areas were all packed even outside tables. It was difficult flagging staff down and the wait for food was an astonishing 1 hour 20 minutes after which we still hadn’t received all our tapas or even table water! We would’ve usually rated this 1 star but the only reason it gets 3 stars is because the food still tastes as good as it does 10+ years ago and the waiter was really apologetic and lovely about the wait situation (shout out to the blond male sorry didn’t catch your name). We eventually had to cancel some tapas but received a complimentary tapas off our bill. When we went to pay, the cashier said there was a big party that evening and the kitchen simply collapsed under the orders. I recommend visiting on a weeknight!

Definitely one of the best Spanish restaurant. We have been to both , the one in city and this one in Lane cove. The vibes is better in lane cove, while the food is consistently good across both . Expected 35-40 minutes for paella , while tapas are served fairly quick, The restaurant was busy for a weekday evening when we went, while there is a good flow in service. We enjoy all the dishes we have ordered! The marisco paella was so flavoursome! Totally worth the waiting. The texture of crème brûlée is not like the pudding texture but more creamy and smooth, the sweetness is just perfect !! And of course , the cracking of the caramelised sugar on top ,

The food quality was very very low. We were not happy with their service as well. 10 minutes after getting ordered we’re been told that they don’t have two of our orders and we have to choose again! I can’t understand why their rating is 4.4!!!! portions was very small compare to any other restaurants. We ordered both cocktails and mocktails and their non alcohol beverages has the same price as the same ones in cocktail type!!! We charged $14 for small glass of mojito mocktail (just soda+lemon) which I’ve never charged that much in other restaurants!!this restaurant wasn’t even fancy!!! We charged $60 for Paella’s which supposed to be enough for 2 people but that portion definitely wasn’t enough for two!!! We were so disappointed with choosing this restaurant!

As a first timer to Lane Cove I was quite surprised at how quaint the village is. Like a little Paddington but more inconvenient. The decor at the restaurant was Spanish enough and so were the staff. There weren't that many vegan options which was not unexpected as we all know the Spaniards hate animals. The strawberry jam toast looking thing was actually a tomato paste smeared on toast with the "Spanish" magic....two bulbs of garlic. The Papas bravas were nice crispy and came with aioli and some picante sauce. The paella which was the unwanted star of the night (they had nothing else), remained as unwanted from the first bite. They were rushing for time and you could tell because there was no socarrat (the crusty bit at the bottom), which made the the rest of it taste like porridge. The flavours were a little too sweet for my liking and underwhelming.

Amazing food. Every dish was delicious, and the Sangria was so good too. The beef cheek dish was delicious but quite rich so we didn't finish it as it was the last dish to come out, and also because we did over order and finished all the other dishes. All these were for two people so we were stuffed as! It was for a birthday celebration and although the staff said they weren't allowed to write a happy birthday message on a dish as such (and they didn't have a dessert menu), they were so kind in giving us an ice cream treat with a birthday candle - totally surprised the birthday person! Staff were very friendly, attentive and provided an excellent service. Thank you so much!

We had a group of 6 for a late lunch. They were flexible to accommodate our booking as we were a bit late due to traffic. We ordered garlic prawns (yummy even the garlicky oil with the sourdough bread is good), albondigas, potatas bravas, chorizo a la plancha, croquetas iberico, chicken, pollo & chorizo paella and Spanish tortilla de patatas. Definitely recommend all the above dishes except the tortilla de patatas which was a bit undercooked inside otherwise all good!

The Spanish sausage, is the first dish and it is absolutely delicious. It has a slight salty taste, but it doesn't detract from its wonderful flavor. It pairs perfectly with wine and is a great appetizer. The octopus and mashed potatoes were truly stunning, especially the spicy seasoning on half of it. The seafood paella took a bit longer to arrive, and when I ordered, I thought it was $30 per serving, but when the bill came, I realized it was $30 per person. Personally, I felt the rice overshadowed the seafood. Nonetheless, it is definitely worth going back for.

We visited on a Sunday night. It wasn’t busy service was alright. We were constantly trying to flag down someone to refill the water. A lot of the items were sold out on a Sunday at 7pm. 3 out of the 6 dishes that we wanted were not available. The restaurant was quiet. We got a variety of dishes between the 5 of us. The menu is quite small. The croquettes were more cheese than ham. The meat balls were bland. The Chorizo and friend calamari was bland as well. The walnut and goats cheese salad was the tastiest thing along with the mixed seafood paella. The creme brûlée was a little bland. We most likely would not return again.

What a great place to experience amazing Tapas and Spanish cuisine! Every single dish was wonderful - perfectly cooked and amazing flavours. The White Sangria was wonderful and the Spanish version of a "Creme Broulee" was the best I've ever had - anywhere. The service provided by Matteo was absolutely top-notch too. This place is totally "chef's kiss" and will definitely come back as soon as possible! Loved it!

If you're looking for great Spanish food, this is the place to go. We ordered a few tapas and they were fantastic. We like the fact that they came out pipping hot out of the kitchen. Even the bread rolls were fresh from the oven! Only drawback is that it can be busy and some food may take a little longer. But it's well worth the wait and don't forget to make reservation as place was packed even on a weekday night!

This was our first time trying out this place. Between the two of us we wanted to share one tapas plate (meatballs - very avarage) and the chicken paella (was actually not bad). When it was time to pay - surprise! They've charged us twice the cost of the paella as it was a double sized one! When order was placed nobody thought of mentioning that or ask us what size we actually wanted. We were planing to come back with kids and extended family but not if they are full of tricks like that..

Came here for a casual dinner on a Thursday. To start off the experience the servers were a bit scattered and confused with how to place things or offer advice. However, going beyond that the food was alright. The lamb skewers and beef meatballs were mediocre, with a standout being the potatoes bravas. The space felt a little bit cramped but was not too bad. Good for a quick dinner in the area.

If you have a craving for Spain, this is a good place! For those who miss some croquetas or a bocata, this is a great place. A very friendly service, clean place, and the right music, everything was great! All they need to do is serve a “tinto de verano” and some “rotos” to have the 5 stars. This time we tried the croquetas, the bocata de calamares and the meatballs and everything was very tasty! We will definitely come back and recommend this place !

Amazing place if your still on the fence go there now We booked in advance and was greeted by my first name when I entered which was a welcome surprise The high chair for our baby was already in plane - the staff are attentive and always have a smile face We ordered the Paella , and it was plain heavenly - the chicken just melts in your mouth , the Tiramisu and the Lemon cream Catalana were equally good . The meatballs had a tangy flavor to it. TIP: on busy days parking can be an issue so drive in advance

  • Luis Luis

Place looks nice, service was ok, but all night 3-5 employees were just standing behind the bar. Drinks were Overpriced and Desserts lacked taste and Disappointing This restaurant continuously fails to get proper and decent chef's that can cook. Again the food lacked taste and it was was very disappointing that unskilled chef's are hired to attempt to cook Spanish dishes and run a business with so much potential.

Every tapas dish we ordered was perfect; better than anything I had in Barcelona. Lamb skewers were tender and rich. Patatas bravas were on point. The salami had the perfect texture and flavour. Croquets.. oh my god the croquets.. The traditional sangria was the best I've tasted, light and sweet. Service was very friendly and with a smile. Menu pricing is very good considering the quality. A truly 5 star experience. I can't wait to have my birthday here, any excuse to come back.

  • Annie Wong

Love the paella. We ordered two servings to share for three but it was quite enough. The seafood were a bit over cooked but still tasted fresh. The rice was cooked perfectly with seasoning. My favourite tapas was the octopus. It’s so soft and well seasoned. The mashed potato underneath was so smooth and matched the octopus very well. The garlic prawn I wish they could put more sliced garlic with it. But the taste was nice.

We had 3 starters and one main. The starters were the croquetas (good!), albóndigas (meatballs, average though the sauce was good) and patatas bravas (very good). The main dish we shared was the arroz caldoso (like paella but more like a soup). It was average in my opinion. The service was great. Even though I rated it as 4 I'd go back

Great find! Wandered in hungry. I’ve always loved Spanish food. The pisco sour is excellent. So were the two tapas I tried - the patatas bravas and the grilled lamb. Nice cozy place too. And great service. Returned post Covid on a Saturday night. The food is as fantastic as ever. I love the paella negra! The gambas are always good too. Service and the food coming out was slow. Not sure if they were understaffed or just having teething problems with reopening.

  • Juliana Portella

Unfortunately I was not allowed to be inside of the restaurant with my assistance dog! I said I have the certificate and the waitress said no. I said if someone blind come with their service dog, I don’t believe the waitress would not allow inside. Then he said they were fully booked, but I could see an available table inside. He changed the speech. It was cold (10°C) and there was no heater outside. I’m very disappointed and frustrated - I’ll never return!

  • Bernard leung

Ok firstly there is a lack of quality Spanish restaurants in Sydney so whilst I like it I don't love it. Having come from the UK I really miss the UK Spanish. That said the croquettes were really good. The calamari bocadillas (samdwich) was ok but not spectacular though I would order it again. The beef cheek wasn't as good as last time perhaps because it was lunch and as such didn't have enough time to soften? Good and with going to but not spectacular

We had a big group of 27pp at Encasa Lane Cove for dinner tonight, the food is amazing ( we want for the $45pp set menu) and on top of that the customer services is excellent:) as they provide the whole private level for us and send us a free jug of shagrita as birthday present! I’ve been to this place a few times and so nice to be back and see it bustling after covid restrictions have eased across Sydney. The staff are energised, they’re enjoying themselves and it’s buzzing so you’re already having a good time. Then there’s the food-no matter what you order it’s fresh and delicious. 300mls of Sangria for $10 and you’re in for an awesome evening. Best for groups so that you can try something of everything!!

As lived in Barcelona for 3 years, I have to say that this Spanish restaurant is the best ever in Sydney! MUST TRY!! Very local and brings me back to those memories in Spain. I hate this place. I made a booking for 8:15, the earliest time available. It was freezing, I was sat at the door in what felt like a hall way. When I asked to move the staff told me that would not be possible even though there were other free tables. Apparently those were reserved for people with bookings. I had a booking!!! Maybe the food is good I wouldn’t know as I walked out before eating.

The food was decent, but the service was not. Staff displayed a disinterested attitude throughout and took their time to bring out our food. Our final item item was completely forgotten, and it took several requests to get them to bring it to us. The couple seated next to us came in after us, and were served all their items and finished up before us. Wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

I went to Encasa for lunch today and had some authentic bocadillos which were absolutely delicious, the flavour was phenomenal. The garlic prawns did not disappoint. I could eat this for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But most importantly the service was impeccable, I was served by A VERY HANDSOME COLOMBIAN MAN CALLED MATEO.

I ordered the seafood paella plus the squid ink pork belly bao as a side and both were very delicious. The wait time is quite long for the paella but it was well worth it. The paella was full of flavour but not too oily. The servings were decent, perhaps a little small for $28 per person. Seafood was definitely fresh. The pork belly was very crunchy and melts in your mouth!

One of the best Spanish places I've been to. The food is very good, although honestly I feel it's not quite what it was a year or two ago. Service is very good, although it's a little off-putting to be served by someone who doesn't know how to pronounce half the things on the menu. Regardless, still my favorite Spanish place!

We had a lovely lunch that was tasty and well served. We ordered the potatoes, omelette, octopus, shrimp, bread, lamb, and mushrooms. The best dish was the omelette and the shrimp and the one that’s needs just a bit more flavour is the octopus. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves and they even gave us a glass of champagne to celebrate our special occasion.

  • Andrew Thornton

Top quality tapas without a doubt. Also one of the best restaurants in Lane Cove. I would recommend this to anyone feeling like a solid Spanish meal. Food is delicious, although can sometimes feel a little oily (although that could be what we ordered). Everything we tried was delicious though. Staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. Great all around.

We arrived at 7:10pm, we had to flag down a waiter for our drinks. Then placed our order. After an 45 minutes we asked were our food was? The waitress had not put the order through, she’d forgotten to order the Paella. Our food eventually arrived at 9:02pm. Great vibe in the restaurant however will certainly not return based on service.

Good choice of Spanish foods... ordered this on the picture paulo or something ... was struggling to get the meat outta shell of the prawns also there was water on the bottom of the pan with rice... the chorizo was very oily...but overall customer service was good but still need to work on their dishes to get a 5 star. Paella with chicken and chorizo had tiny pieces of chicken; I would say maybe 1 thigh.. flavour was ok and tapas very average for the price $$. Unfortunately this Encasa in Lane Cove does not "take me back to Spain" at all.

The seafood Paella was great. Order ahead as it takes about 30 mins to make an it's done fresh. Need more Spanish desert options. The 'Spanish' creme brulee wasn't any different to a normal one.

I really like the seafood paella and the fried calamari.

Food was good, staff did a great job and where very friendly. We was a group of six only pick a dish each but it was more than enough, ended up taking a doggy bag at the end of the night.

It was nice, but the food felt a bit salty. Bread and garlic prawns and sausages were good, paella and garlic mushrooms were a miss

As vegetarians, it was very little to choose from, but what we had was very good. I'm not sure I would go back soon due to the lack of vegetarian dishes.

Always found Spanish food to be a bit pricey, but I don't mind it as long as the food is good...and this place has good food.
