I was browsing for places to eat and stumbled upon this family run restaurant. After reading the reviews that a reservation is required I decided to try my luck and head there at 6pm when they open for dinner. I reached and they told me that there's space and that dinner only begins at 7pm. So I returned at 7pm and was lucky to find a plov cooking demonstration going on.. and in English! Lucky me! This begins a 6 course meal for the price of 120,000 soms. After the demo, I was seated and waited for about 10 minutes for the appetizers to arrive. They were so good! I don't normally eat brinjals/eggplant but the ones they served were excellent!! I finished them all. Lentils soup was served later and I had it with bread. The main was plov and by then I was already half full from the appetizers. The plov is superb! Nice blend of raisins and chickpeas and rice and tumeric. Yums! Following the main, I was served black tea (excellent as well) and two desserts (you can skip if you want, nothing out of the ordinary) The ambience was great. There were two other large groups of 8-10 pax seated in several "rooms". I was seated on the outdoor porch and dined under the stars. (No stars in the sky unfortunately that night). I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a taste of Uzbekistan food. The staff speaks English so it's not a problem. In fact one of them was practicing it! I had a great time with them! Will definitely drop by if I am in Bukhara. Skip those fancy tourist traps. Come here instead. To find the place, walk along the main road and turn left into the alley when you see Esco Bar. It's about 1 min walk or less! The door has a '5' on it.

Superbe expérience dans ce restaurant caché. Il ne faut pas hésiter à pousser la grande porte en bois au N°5 pour pouvoir réserver sa table. Pas possible de diner le jour même pour nous, nous avons juste réservé pour le surlendemain. Maison magnifique avec une salle de repas décorée traditionnellement. On y mange très bien, c'est un vrai festin avec tous les plats fait maison, on se sent chez l'habitant. Le prix est raisonnable : 120 000 sums pour un repas complet (entree plat dessert boisson). N'hésitez pas à chercher pour trouver ce restaurant, il vaut le coup ! Le personnel est aussi attentif et comprend l'anglais. Une de nos meilleures expériences à Bukhara !

Случайно забрели в это место в поисках ужина, так как все популярные места были забиты туристами. Хозяин очень гостеприимный и доброжелательный чел, встретил нас, усадил за стол. Зал где подают еду просто восхитительный, кажется это отель, здание старое, красивое, под традиционный стиль. Накормили вкусным супом, разными пирожками, салатами, водой, зелёным чаем, лепёшками и огромной порцией плова с пылу с жару. Потом принесли вишни и клубники к чаю. Мы наелись так, что пузо увеличилось в два раза и все это за 8$ с человека, получается как комплексный ужин. Очень вкусно, очень сытно. Советую и рекомендую, не пожалеете. Мы даже были рады что не смогли попасть в пропиаренные туристами рестораны. Вместе с нами зашла группа туристов из Европы и увидев блюда и зал твердили «уааау белиссимо, у ля ля»

We were here for dinner as part of a tour. It was a set menu. The salad and bread were a clear carry forward from lunch leftovers. Soup was tasty, dessert was okay. Main course was disappointing - a mish mash of cabbage (primarily), carrots, and potatoes with roughly cut chunks of meat. Nothing delicate or appetizing. At the end of the meal, we were offered espresso. We presumed it was part of the meal. When the bill was presented, we were surprised to find out the cost of 6 espressos was nearly the same as a bottle of wine!

We had one of the best meals of our trip in this place. A traditional, family restaurant hosted in a beautiful building which is an attraction itself. The menu consists of 6 appetizers, one soup, delicious plov, dessert and tea and costs 80000sum per person which is a very reasonable price for all the food served. It is located in a narrow alley. Don't look for a sign with the name of the restaurant on it. There is only a big, wooden door eith the number "5" (i have added photo).

Hands down the best restaurant I visited in Bukhara. After my attempt for lunch failed (reservations required) the family offered to seat me for dinner the same day even though they were completely booked. The service and food were exceptional. Great value. One of the best experiences at this family run restaurant is watching traditional Bukhara Plov being made. Tip: You have to book ahead (make a reservation).

The only place in our 15 day trip where we were told that it was fully booked despite it being empty when we visited and were told that the next day they were not open( not a single place in Uzbekistan had days off!). So it does not worth going there unless you have a reservation, which the guy told us that they take months ahead. That was in July, with 42 degrees and no tourists in Bukhara.

A hidden gem in Bukhara! No sign at the door, push the door and a fantastic restaurant appears. A friendly waiter and a delicious plov. It is a fixed menu with plov as main dish, delicious and well prepared.

Had a lovely meal and a lovely evening at this place. There was a review saying the location is wrong but it must have been corrected as it's exactly where Google maps shows now. It is a big, old door, and there was no sign outside so do knock! There was a set menu for a very reasonable price

This is the best restaurant in town, hands down. If you would like to eat authentic local food, try this place. The food is really tasty like it supposed to be. I hope this place will continue to keep up its food's. Keep up the good work. The service is very good, Thank you from indonesia.

The place under the current name and address DO NOT EXIST. I called the number showing on google, the guy answered and he guided me to another restaurant. They confirmed over the phone that Doston House is closed, and guiged me to their "new restaurant" but under different name.

The place is nice, and the food is very good! This guest house is usually for group but you can book it too if you're a single backpacker. The dinner including 4 starters, a massive plov (for 2 or 3 pax) a dessert, water and tea cost me SUM65k

Fabulous! This was a superb lunch in Bukhara...not only the food was awesome, the place was intimate and welcoming. Great location, in a beautifully decorated old house. Only with reservations, go with enough time, and try not to miss it!

A reservation only place which cooks fantastic plov. The place is run by a whole family and has a great atmosphere. You can watch them prepare the food. They also make amazing spiced tea! I definitely recommend it :)

La cuisine est super bonne, les serveurs sont très gentils et souriants et le cadre est agréable. Le menu avec 6 entrées, une soupe, du plov, des fruits, une bouteille d’eau et du thé est à 100 000 sum.

Прекрасное место, очень гостеприимное и красивое. Приходишь, тебе сразу накрывают стол: овощи, выпечка, фрукты. Потом ещё суп и плов. Все очень вкусно.

This restaurant does not exist, at least not at the address given here. I l wanted to let you know if someone, like me, was going to walk 2km in vain.

Świetne miejsce na płow (pilaw), jedno z głównych potraw kuchni tatarskiej. Uzbecy dodają dodatkowo tzw "kurdziuk", czyli słoninę z zadu barana.

Great value for money! It is a great place to eat in Boukhara far from the touristic restaurants. Totally recommend it.
