i recently (summer 2017) had to coordinate a very complicated move from my old house to a new one from 700 km away and with little advance notice for me or the moving company I would need to hire. Difficulties reaching the landlord to get the keys and coordinating between the movers and my housemate, constantly changing moving dates and arrangements because of circumstances, pretty much anything that could go wrong did go wrong, and another company would probably have moved on to a more sure job and left me to figure it out on my own. And yet Mano, the owner, stuck with me till the end on a leap of faith, went beyond the call in fact, all on my word and (apparently) his sense of judgement for people, and I will forever be grateful for that. He is a man of his word, "old school" with honour and integrity, whose word can be taken as gold and who will stand by you through the curveballs. His partners and hired hands also did excellent work during the move, being very meticulous and careful with our stuff (especially considering the poor condition of some of the boxes) and working efficiently to maximise space and minimise time. What took us four trips and over 12 hours to do ourselves took just two trips with this company, and our move was done in under six hours. I got a good rate for the move considering the efficiency and professionalism these guys demonstrated, and I also know that I got what I paid for, which is really what's important to me. It costs a chunk of change to move, but in the right hands it becomes an investment. And these guys are worth the investment. Brilliant job, guys, thanks again! Tony, Brossard/Greenfield Park

I contacted the company several weeks in advance to arrange for a smooth move, expecting them to get to my place around 2PM. They came at 7:30PM. The guys were already exhausted from a morning move that ran 5 hours over, so they were slow, and my move dragged on past midnight. This ended up costing me more because I pay the hourly rate, and it bothered people in both the start and end building. The 5% rebate offered by the dispatcher was a slap in the face, just the extra time from the fact the guys were exhausted probably cost 20% extra. I don't blame the movers, they're just going where the dispatcher is telling them; but the dispatcher should do his due diligence to make sure the moves run smoothly. Other companies do a visual assessment through FaceTime of the apartment to estimate move duration; if they would have done that for the morning move they might have gotten more movers or changed which crew did the move. Another nitpick: they should get their act together for credit card payment; I don't want to have to give my credit card number over the phone while the movers are standing around; they should have secure online payment.

Because last year my move took 4 hours with 2 guys. This year the move was 7 hours with 3 guys. Cost was $1,200 this year compared to $400 last year... Absolutely ridiculous... Even more, move was for the same supplies as last year. Only change was that this year was one hour distance from the 2 places compared to 15 minutes last year, but that doesn't explain why it took 3 hours more even if there was 1 more guy. Is it because your guys wanted to work more hours due to the move they were supposed to do but was cancelled earlier that day? And I paid for this cancellation? Added to all of this, the manager of the team called me twice after the move saying he miscalculated the money I gave him, and supposely I didn't pay everything... Even if there were 4 witnesses when I paid that are 100% sure I paid full amount, and I also gave 50$ of tip (at this point I don't know why I did that lollll). Awful experience that I wanted to share.

Ok service. Manager responds quickly. As for the mover part I had to remove some stars because of damages done to many pieces of furniture. Mainly concerned about fridge as the door suddenly makes noise and my fridge is brand new. Also, they showed after a very difficult job and it's not their fault but the move took much much longer than it should have as I had moved all the appliances and furniture to the entry myself. Scheduled for 3 movers came around 6 (which was completely ok but clearly they were exhausted from the previous job). It was an extremely slow start. The disappointing part was that many many things were not taken because it was taking too long and everyone was tired we only took furniture mainly no smaller items and I had to rent a truck and finish the job myself. Also, the driver was very unprofessional and could have helped a lot if he wasn't busy harassing me the entire time instead of working.

They are professionals. My furniture were well packed and arrived almost perfectly. My items in their truck were solid, well set. nothing felt or moved. Expect double the price agreed if they are working hourly-based plus an extra dor the movers. I would suggest closing a price before, no variables. I would move with them again and even recommend their service to others, but in other terms, not hourly-based. Also it was ackward and annoying to have the company insisting you to give 5 stars and writing down a good review on Google Maps as they are waiting for you to do it, but it's ok as you can always come back and edit it as I am doing now, but I felt under duress, say. It seems they have a pretty harsh boss on the other end. Not their fault. The movers are nice and polite, but this policy of the company should change, so you can't believe the 5 stars here.

Circumstance: I had to move a 3 1/2 apartment into a condo. Two movers showed up with a large truck and moving equipment punctual at the time they said they would. They assessed the room and came up with a plan for moving all the furniture. Everything was wrapped, carefully handled and speedily moved. There was not a scratch on any of my furniture and they were very polite and professional the entire time I dealt with them. They let me inspect the truck to make sure nothing was left behind. They discussed payment and the contract on arrival, and after work was completed so nothing was ambiguous or unclear. Overall: A fantastic experience and everything was moved in 5 hours, exceptional considering the amount of pieces I had to move. Thank you Alfa! Well done!

Alex and the team was beyond wonderful. My mive had many moving parts. Two Quebec locations going To two Ontario locations. He started on the 5 and before 6 pm the contents of a full 10x14x8 locker was packed, contents of a cottage picked up 60 Miles away. Upon arrival in Toronto we went to my storage first as I had yet to offically close on my new property and did not have keys. As out luck had it - just as we finished at the locker did my lawyer confirm closing and that i could pick up the key. 3 grs late I was set up. I was so impressed i have already referred him to my brother in law and my sister.

This company are the BEST MOVERS i have ever used and i have used a few. Mano was on the ball, polite, helpful and very knowledgeable. The movers were on time, helpful and very polite. I would recommend this company anytime. They took 2 breaks which i was okay with because it was a big move and they worked extremely hard. If i had 1 complaint it would be to many phone calls but the rest of the movers that where there were still working during that time. Thank you Mano for your excellent service and your great movers.

The service was excellent. Alfa Movers confirmed the details of the move by telephone and email, and also called the morning of the move to notify me of their ETA. Courteous, professional and efficient -- everything was done according to the details we discussed during our initial phone call. Jobin and his team moved us during a heat wave, from the top floor of a triplex, to another building on the 2nd floor, both buildings with no elevators! We moved with a different company last year, who had 3 movers. We had 2 movers with Demenagement Alfa, and they finished much faster than the team of 3. I moved on July first with Alfa (Karan and his team). The entire team is VERY responsive from the first contact (by text and email, they kept me updated as to their arrival time in the morning). Everything went very well and we were done in a bit over 4 hours. They helped me assemble the bed and wrapped everything with care and attention. The team of 2 guys did a great job getting the furniture and appliances moved from our apartment over to the storage facility. The guys worked hard, they moved quickly, and all of our things arrived at our storage in great condition too. I had a poor experience with this company, they arrived over 1 hour late, tried to charge me more than we agreed on, they broke my bed and my desk, when I called to talk with the person in charge, he just told me that he would call me back and never did. I wouldn’t recommend this company since they are not careful enough and very unprofessional.

They were punctual, they were professional and they were very careful considering there were a couple of fragile and expensive pieces to handle. The pricing was good as well.
