This is our go to local curry spot. Their dinner box, with your choice of 2 curries, rice and naan, is hearty and filling. The butter chicken is a must, plus I really love both their veggie korma or spinach curry - it is always hard to choose which to get. The naan is cooked fresh to order and is super warm and fresh. Chicken momo dumplings are delicious, but we’d only get them when eating in so that they can be eaten while immediately fresh. Definitely more of a take away location, with limited seating inside.

This is the ultimate feel good hug-in-a-dish you could ask for. My go to is the coconut beef curry and whatever vege curry takes my fancy for the day alongside some garlic naan to mop up all the saucy goodness! This is place is the definition of a hole in the wall local favorite. I find it responsibly priced at $14-16 and usually can stretch it to another meal or snack. For a bonus sweet treat the dessert naan is packed with fruits and is a delicious way to end a hearty meal. I cannot recommend this place enough!

A firm family favourite, this is our go-to take-away place. Fresh, good quality meat and vegetable, delicious, friendly service and quick - completely redefines a curry in a hurry. We normally order a "dinner box" each which come with rice and a choice of 2 curries. The Butter Chicken is THE BEST and always forms one of the choices (everyone's favourite judging by how much of it they sell) with the second choice varying depending on the family member and mood. The naans are also fantastic - freshly made upon order and piping hot and soft. We are always served with a smile and more often than not are also gifted with some tasty carraway seed papadums.

This place has the best portion sizes and the most delicious curry. At first when I walked in, I wasn't quite sure about the value for money, but once my food was served, it was a great portion size and I'd say great value for money. They offer a very large selection of different curries and side dishes. The restaurant is kept very clean and the dining in experience is nice. The staff are also friendly and quick to serve. Can highly recommend this nice little restaurant for both take out and eat in. Can't wait to come back soon!

Rich, original Indian curry with no frills ! Ordered plates with goat, lamb curries and vegies, and the taste was very rich with original aroma, Meat was so tender and was falling off the bone. The owner was friendly and kitchen was clean and tidy. All your best choices that you can get served immediately at very reasonable prices. I have asked the owner what the unique restaurant name was about and he replied to "monitor" the quality of authentic Indian curry - I had thought there may be a CCTV "monitor" somewhere ... hahaha

Look, this place has great portion sizes but I had a hair in my dish. I was told it's part of the goat dish but the hair was fresh and firm, hadn't been sitting there for a while and didn't look like it was meant to be there. I've had goat many times and people don't serve me hair in my dish. We promptly left after they refused to acknowledge the hair was anything but part of the dish which amazed me. I acknowledge that this might have been a one off but to me I don't think it's acceptable

That’s me and my local chigga enjoying a hearty meal after a morning swim at Lane Cove. The curry was tasty, the garlic naan was aromatic and fresh, and the lassi was thick and fruity. Overall, we had a great time catching up after not seeing each other for a few years. Thanks Curry Monitor! Thanks Ed!

Cheap price and big portions. Average quality. Pricing and what you are supposed to get is a bit confusing and inconsistent as they list one price for combo but charge differently for lunch and dinner. The dinner combo of rice and 2 curries is $15.90 plus $2 if you want naan. However the next customer got charged only $13.90 and got an additional salad. The butter chicken is good and succulent. The mango chicken , lamb korma and paneer were so so. Naan cooked fresh to order. A few seats available to eat in.

Got their supreme lunch special that came with basmati rice, nann bread, special salad and two choices of curry. The nann bread was light and fluffy with a crispy crunch. I chose the butter chicken and mango chicken curry which was mild in spice but full of flavour. I wanted more kick so I added the chilli powder provided on each table. They have a range spice levels for each of their curries. Highly recommend a trip here if you’re in and around Sydney.

Amazing curry’s, great prices, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Only odd thing about this place is that they charge the same price for the lunch special at night but don’t include the drink which is kinda sneaky and unreasonable. Despite that i would still recommend it as this is a local hotspot and probably the best curry in the north shore

Very disappointed in a pick up order worth nearly $100 for Valentines. We ordered online through Ozfoodhunte, but did not receive the correct meals. E.g. we ordered 3 samosa's, 3 chicken tikka and 3onion bharji - received one samosa, one onion bharji and 5 chicken tikka. The entre were old and tough, the main meals were too oily. The best food was the naan bread very light and fluffy. If they had run out of food, then why didn't they speak to my partner who picked up the food? Very poor service and poor food.

  • LXX

Normally we don’t spend time rating restaurants but this one is definitely outstanding in whole north shore. Clean and perfect taste ! We particularly love mango chicken and lamb karma, with my travel experience in Bangalore, this restaurant keeps authentic Indian flavour in the meantime adjusts a bit to match fusion-driven customers. Very happy to come most of the weekends , if you’re in the area, do give it a try!

This is the worst place to order food. I ordered lunch supreme which comes with 2 curries , rice salad and nan bread for $15 . In reality, I got rice and 2 curries in one normal size container and a nan bread with no salad. On calling them upon this, they answered that we dont serve salad with the lunch supreme. I was expecting rice in different container, but this what i got. Very bad service , highly over priced . Will never order from here and not let anybody do that either.

This is the best Indian takeaway in Sydney, hands down. Fact. Not currently accepting submissions to the contrary. I don't even live anywhere near Gordon anymore and I still come here every now and then. Whats good? The everything is good. Everything and treat yourself to a mango lassi. If you are reading this, what are you doing with your life, why aren't you already walking out the door to the Curry Monitor? Go, immediately.

  • Sudha V v

Small and tidy place for a peaceful meal. Mango chicken, butter chicken, vegetable korma, potato eggplant curry with rice are what we usually order and tastes good. The mango lassi is refreshing. Polite and friendly customer service, handy location, next to Gordon station.

Everybody loves a butter chicken, and there's a lot of butter chicken out there - so it's extremely hard to stand out from the pack. But Curry Monitor does the impossible, in delivering the very best butter chicken in the world. An absolutely impeccable experience. An (at least) 10 year unbroken run of absolutely quality. I'm sure the other food is good as well.

Small Nepali / Indian restaurant with specialty in curries and excellent customer service. The food on the menu are quite extensive but they're all very good value of money. Though taste-wise the dishes are not most authentic, but their good value and customer services make-up for it. The place is small so don't expect much ambience but you can pay with credit cards (inc. Amex) with no surcharge.

We ordered for home delivery and it came an hour late. We asked for dry mixed vegetables and what we got was under cooked veggies with gravy, definitely we could not have it and ended up throwing everything. We also ordered for chicken vindaloo expecting it to be tangy and spicy. But it was too sweet. Not a value for money at all. Will never recommend this place to anyone. Food is terrible!!!

  • Sammi Tran

Amazing food and friendly service. Butter chicken, lamb korma, and spinach lamb are some of my personal favourites. Their naan is also great. Have been here at least 5 times for their lunch special ($13.90 for two curries, rice, and naan) which is so delicious and very filling. Always look forward to coming here :)

We ordered on Menulog just to try food from this Award Winning Indian restaurant and we were totally disappointed. The curry was far from an authentic paneer mattar I have tasted, disgusting to say the least. The samosa was so small and utterly tasteless. Naans and pappadams were okay. Not ordering from here ever again !

Extremely bad food, does not provide a fully authentic experience of eating Indian/ Nepalese food. I was coerced into eating here, by an inexperienced diner who used a sense of pathos as a method of persuasion to come eat there with him. As a comparison, one can only correlate it to Srivi's behinds.

  • Stephen B. Cohen

A very casual eatery with several tables available for eating in. There was a steady flow of customers ordering takeaway at the counter during lunch time. Our food was tasty, not spicy and there is a good selection of vegetarian curries along with beef, chicken and lamb available in the bain-maries.

  • Srikanth Paniker

The food is ok. But the customer service is amazing. It depends who’s on. The actual owner or his wife. The owner is very good with customer service. His wife..:hmm...not so much. She’s Pretty stingy with how much food is served. Overall I would say it’s a good place to eat. Totally recommend it.
