Our recent stay at Crown Towers in Barangaroo unfortunately did not live up to the hype. While the rooms were stylishly decorated and comfortable, the overall cleanliness, attention to detail and professionalism of staff fell short of expectations for a luxury hotel. Several areas of our room were not cleaned thoroughly. There were handprints and suspicious fluid marks on the window - distracting from what should have been pristine views of Sydney Harbour. The lobby and public spaces were also sadly neglected. All those brand new glossy surfaces should have been sparkling! But alas, the elevators, windows and glass revolving doors were covered in grubby fingerprints and smears, detracting from the grandeur. The pool in particular was also in dire need of attention. A walk around after breakfast revealed piles of used towels, dirty glasses, floating rubbish and food on the ground - all still there later in the day when we went back for sunset cocktails. While we waited for drinks that never arrived, I observed several staff step over the rubbish and keep walking. They seemed more interested in chatting behind the bar than keeping the area presentable or serving guests. The daily housekeeping service remade the bed (same sheets) and replaced towels, but failed to take our used cups, empty the bins or replenish amenities. We had to call down and request clean cups, more tea and soap. Not a big deal, but again not the level we expected at this price point. The other major complaint I had is the noise level from housekeeping staff in the mornings. Their loud conversations and frequent door slamming adjacent to our room (exacerbated by the rattling interconnecting door) woke us up early both mornings and made a restful sleep-in impossible. We actually made recordings it was so comically loud and repetitive. They also entered our room while we were still in bed on our last day, even though we had a noon check-out time. There were some logistical issues as well with the overall running of the hotel that could certainly be improved. Only two reception staff on the desk at peak check-in and out times made for unnecessary queueing. Why not have a key drop-off box for express check-out? We found the elevator also got extremely crowded, with it stopping every few floors on the way down. Perhaps the number of stops could be limited to avoid such a long wait and uncomfortable crowding? The hotel staff were courteous but appeared inadequately trained, failing to meet the anticipated standard of service, particularly at a 5-star level. On the plus side, the building is an architectural wonder and Barangaroo is a beautiful area with lots of great restaurants, cafes and bars nearby along the waterfront. Very convenient for sightseeing, shopping or enjoying the local nightlife. However, there are many other extraordinary 5-star hotels nearby at a fraction of the cost which I would choose next time. Regrettably, our overall experience did not justify the premium price tag associated with Crown. The lack of polish, combined with poor cleanliness and repeated disturbances, dampened what should have been a memorably luxurious stay.

Coming here for my birthday should've been a treat, but it wasn't. The customer service here is deplorable for a place that prides itself on being "impeccable." The buffet cutlery is always filthy. They forget your order, and if you want a room cleaned, they simply give you a turn down service. I also injured my toe on an umbrella stand that wasn't out of harms way. It required further medical attention. I had to take a day off work to get x-rays because it was still throbbing 48 hrs after the incident. The inroom tablet and remote were faulty. You can hear people above moving furniture. Great view of the harbour, though, but staying at Crown Barangaroo is not worth the price. Crown offered a $500 credit additional to the bond with all incidentals covered in the room, including no charge for the room service and mini bar. They simply returned $439.71 and waved the room service charges. There has been no $500 credit, and they deducted the rest of the mini bar fees from the bond. I would never stay at this place again, and I won't be recommending it to any friends or family I know.

Good view, but you can hear people above you.
Safety
Narrow walkways near the pool, so be careful near the umbrella stands.
Food & drinks
Overpriced.
Noteworthy details
Customer service is lacking, and it took 5 hours for cleaners to show up to clean a room. They merely just did a turndown and left. Had to ask for fresh towels and other items.

Crown Sydney truly impressed me with its exceptional offerings. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was captivated by the stunning architecture and luxurious ambiance. The staff was not only courteous but also incredibly knowledgeable, ensuring that my every need was met throughout my visit. The dining options at Crown Sydney are a culinary delight. The diverse range of restaurants and cuisines available cater to every palate, and the quality of the food exceeded my expectations. The breathtaking views from the restaurants overlooking Sydney Harbor only enhanced the dining experience. The accommodations are a pinnacle of luxury, with spacious and tastefully designed rooms that make you feel right at home. The attention to detail in room amenities and cleanliness is commendable. Crown Sydney's casino and entertainment options are world-class, providing ample entertainment and excitement. The casino itself is well-appointed and offers a wide array of gaming options. The Crown Spa is a haven of relaxation, where I indulged in rejuvenating treatments that left me feeling refreshed and pampered. In summary, Crown Sydney is a paragon of luxury, offering unparalleled hospitality, dining, entertainment, and relaxation experiences. It's a place where you can truly immerse yourself in opulence and create unforgettable memories.

Individual staff were always polite and rooms feel luxurious. The in room dining options were great as well. However, we had a pretty poor experience of processes and it was far below expectations given the price. Would not be returning or recommending Valet area was packed, no update about our bags being brought up for 1.5 hours until I called twice and offered to go down and get them myself. I called about using my $200 credit toward the valet service. I was told it was not usable towards anything except food/drink/dining so I paid for valet separately. When following up on my invoice for another issue after checking out, I was then told it should’ve been ok to use toward valet. In room dining was also billed to credit card instead of my balance. Had to call twice for resolution. Waited quite a long time to check in - it was clearly peak hour on the weekend but only 3 staff were assigned. During check-in, we were offered champagne. We were told we could just request whenever we were ready, but this was randomly delivered to us during the afternoon. some of the toiletries and the coffee machine were not cleaned out / replaced A few other requests just completely forgotten, overall just felt like too many things were offered but felt disjointed or just didn’t deliver.

Our first experience of a 5 star luxury hotel and we loved it. We came as part of a company reward trip in a super large group. We all talked about the many facilities you don't usually get when travelling in lower price classes so for anyone posting reviews with such minor niggles as having to wait a couple of minutes on check in - please put things in proportion. The bathrooms are fantastically set out, the provided toiletries are lovely. The hotel had a power issue as we arrived so Internet wasn't working for a little while but so what. The bed was a dream to sleep on, the pillows like fluffy clouds, in fact we're now hunting high and low to find these pillows in the UK. We only sat out by the pool one afternoon, it was very busy, it's not my kinda thing I'd do for days though but it was definitely a thing to remember. Pool bar prices are of course a little on the high side but combined with the views totally acceptable. The breakfast options are incredible, from the usual toast and porridge to Asian style dishes to cooked traditional options and a wall of fruit selection.

Crown Sydney was incredible. Our views from our room were outstanding. Their buffet breakfast was the best I've experienced. The service was excellent, room service got busy and forgot our request once but otherwise great. Bathroom shower could be revised but otherwise loved our stay and would definitely stay again. Location was superb, walked out the doors right onto the waterfront. Between all the amazing restaurants/service you barely have to leave the hotel if you didn't want to. Pool/spa was amazing too, stunning views.

The reputation was fully supported by the immediate world class service and gorgeous stylish and clean rooms. Could not recommend more, one exception is the epicurean buffet I felt was overrated and you could find the same quality at quite a few hotels in Sydney. It just wasn’t anything special and the glass of juice I got was dirty. Not to mention the coffees took so long to arrive that we had already finished our food. Other than the buff a experience the hotel itself is absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend it to anyone, especially for an special occasion.

Very very poor services and totally ignore what customer ask for or request. Ask for service since 7am, went down twice to reception desk, rang customer service twice from our room, completely ignored. Never take anything from minibar, we got charged, double billed us for restaurant bills. Rang twice left message, emailed at the same day, 3days after still no response from crown service team. Book the hotel for anniversary, no surprise at all. Avoid to pay premium price for all these poor services and respond. Have to contact Amex to dispute their charges because crown just totally ignores.

I’m grateful that the team helps to upgrade one of the rooms for us. However, the departments communications are chaos. Very disorganised. We were told champagne are given on arrival but we waited from 4 pm till 10pm but still nothing is coming so we called. Then we were told there were no champagnes…. And the supervisor told us everything we order from the dining room is free. But they still charge and delivered at midnight. This is speechless. I feel like I spend the whole day on communicating to the teams at crown. I changed my family’s mind to try the new hotel instead but this is disappointing.

Wonderful place overall. Breakfast was limited to 1 hour (Sunday breakfast experience) which is a pity given the price you pay, kind of interrupts what should be a relaxing start to the day. As things stopped working in the buffet the staff were overwhelmed and couldn’t keep up (eg chocolate fountain stopped working and over a 30 minute period no one attended to it). We stayed in a opera house view room which only could see two thirds of the top of the sails. There were permanent buildings in front of the rest - i felt classing this room as opera view was a revenue grab (room 1620).

Truly an amazing place to stay. Nothing is too much for the staff who are super friendly and willing to assist you in every endeavour. Old school service! My only issue is when booking, you are offered the “option” to take valet or not. Valet is not an option - if you want to park your car, you’re going to HAVE to take valet or park your car elsewhere. This is through no fault of the staff at Crown though and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Would go back again.

Our recent stay at the Crown was okay until they manually charged my credit card again two weeks after our stay! I've emailed them but received nothing for over two weeks. I've called them four times and each time the person on the phone just passed on the bug and said the manager would call me back, but I'm still waiting... I'm happy to say that I won't be returning to the Crown unless they improve their services. Meanwhile I may check out the new W Hotel for a better service!

Absolutely loved our stay here! The rooms came equipped with all the essentials, offering breathtaking views, and the beds were incredibly plush. The breakfast spread was top-notch, hands down the best buffet I've ever experienced. Had dinner at the Italian restaurant on-site, and not only was it scrumptious, but the prices were surprisingly reasonable for such a high-end spot. Would book this place every trip if only our budget allowed!

It was a lovely place to visit. Members only allowed on the premises. It is located right on the harbour, there are plenty of walks, shops and water fountains in the area. The city is close by and accessible by the ferry or buses servicing the area. If you need top of the range watches, check out the shop 'Watches of Switzerland' next door to the casino.

Fake luxury. The outside is stunning but there is no atmosphere in this place. Very small interior, the lobby doesn’t feel grand at all. No luxurious open spaces. To get to the restaurants on each level there’s a small bland corridor that follows around a stair case. For such an expensive place you’d think they take this stuff into account. On top of that they have no parking for event visitors. It’s nothing compared to the Melbourne crown. Super disappointing.

The room was amazing. View was a construction but I am not complaining as I got the cheapest room. The staff are all well mannered but all too slow. My room card had to be reactivated twice. Speaking nicely doesn't mean great service. Location is quite far from train station and when you drive in the line is super busy as the driveway is not that long.

Great stay at the Crown. Whilst the rooms are amazing the maintenance and cleanliness is average…bit like someone in an expensive suit walking around with mustard on their tie. Otherwise the service was excellent and the room service and breakfast good too. The heated pool and area was awesome despite being in the middle of winter. Hope there is a plan for a bit of a deep clean now that it’s been open a while.

I had a pleasant experience at the restaurant. The ambiance was great and the service was attentive. However, I did find the food to be a bit expensive for the portion sizes. Unfortunately, I left the restaurant feeling not completely full. Despite this, the flavors were enjoyable and the presentation was impressive.
