Staff do not care if you're looking at a product on the shelf when they are restocking shelves, and trolleys block aisles to the max, I worked at Coles for a while and we were always told two cages max per aisle and had to be one at each end, shelves are ALWAYS bare, seen a customer fill their basket with every single packet of panadol that was on the shelf also and have seen this multiple times on other items also, went in to purchase sticky tape the other day and scanned at a different price, spoke with an employee at self serve checkout and mentioned the incorrect price and told me to go take a photo of the price on the shelf, said they couldn't leave the section, in the past if an item scans at a different price the staff have been helpful and radiod to have a price check completed, was not going to go back into the extremely busy period as it was like a rat race to even navigate through the store because of cages EVERYWHERE so just said "don't worry about it" and left the store

I wish i can give 0 star to this Coles store. I’m supposed to collect 2 order from this Coles Click & Collect but they only deliver one. When I ask they said they don’t have it but when the first time I called they said the order is ready for pickup and ask me to wait while they preparing for the second order. I’ve waited more than 2 hours , the staff came deliver the second order and told me that they have check everything and they don’t have the first one. I called Dasher support and they contact this Coles store and told me that they have found the missing order and I need to walk to Coles to pickup the missing order. What’s the point of Click & Collect if you guys couldn’t deliver? Now I have to pay for parking and wasting my time. Avoid ordering online at this Coles. Sunday 02/07/23 waiting time 12.50pm and I received my order by 3.01pm. Bad Service

On Friday 17th of February 2023 there was a Colgate Sensitive Pro toothpaste on special advertised at $2.5, when I brought this item to a check out it scanned as $11. I took it to returns counter where I was told in quite hostile manner by a worker named Anna that this item is not on sale. I have produced a photo of the tag with the exact name of the item and a price. She grew even more hostile and claimed that a customer must make sure that he has a correct item regarding weight, name and other details. I said that it’s not my job and pointed out that the isle was a mess, items strewed everywhere, tags for special prices apparently are placed incorrectly which is misleading and confusing to say the very least. Very disappointing visit to otherwise decent store. Stuff must pay more attention and concern for customer’s needs.

Coles East Village is probably the worst Coles I’ve ever been to for my last eight years living in Sydney. The self-check out machines constantly freeze; products are misplaced just to fulfill the shelves and with confusing price tags - AND, they’d refuse to offer the prices where you picked the groceries; the Deli department closes super early, and if you approach to them during their last twenty minutes and ask them to cut the grilled chicken for you, they would tell you ‘No we are closing’; the seafood and meat department are constantly unattended, leading to unexpected long waiting time…I’m not expecting high-end services from a Coles, but just comparing it with any other Coles I visit at a regular basis - say Broadway - the quality of management and operations at the East Village one are just ridiculously awful.

Not doing what they're advertising for! In case if anyone is interested in their newest collection (Magical Characters) and others later, don't ever do Click and collect because the store manager would say you aren't qualified to the deal no matter of value of shopping (mine was over $100) without any explanation. I should have collected at least 7 pieces according to the Coles catalogue came out just on Wed 6/7/22 in which T&Cs said YES to collect via Coles Online. Small issue but feel like Coles East Village may not do what their parent company is trying to upsell or there is a internal conflict somewhere. Funny! Been shopping at this store for groceries up to $600 (oops! I'm just a fish in their ocean) a month but they gave me a reason to switch to others like Broadway or Waterloo!

I shop here every fortnight, and I've been impressed with the service here, with great responses when I had cause to complain. I would like to see management encourage more customer focus at the deli, where the young women working sometimes have to be called to the counter to serve, and often disregard the quantity requested by the customer. Today, I was asked by the checkout operator to pack my groceries as they went through, and I refused, explaining that as an elderly woman, retired, I'm wasn't being paid for the work, he was. A lovely young man, but I really think we need to insist on those values being maintained around customer service. Otherwise, where will we end up? Let's be civilised and respectful please Coles. It's our money that's keeping you afloat.

This store is always messy with restocking at odd times. Bits of rubbish and cardboard all over the floor and pushed under stands. Tonight I saw small cockroaches inside Coles near the checkouts. This is disgusting…the mess doesn’t help, they are probably hiding around stock and boxes. The other day I was blocked from an isle by two stocking trolleys next to each other taking up the whole width of the isle - not easy when you’re pregnant Large store but often items I’m looking for aren’t available at this Coles and I have to go to a different one. I have also noticed some fresh produce prices slightly higher at this store compared to other Coles nearby. I don’t think this should be the case.

Used to be a great supermarket with fantastic customer service. Sadly since the introduction of self serve check outs only it’s gone down hill. Yesterday I was made to feel like a petty criminal by the shop assistant whose job it is to stand and hover as you scan your items. Once we’d finished paying she proceeded to print out a copy of our receipt to check for any errors. I wouldn’t mind except she whispered in the ear of the next customer what she was doing as we left. All because she thought we’d robbed a $10 hair product. Over the years we’ve spent thousands in this store but we’ll be looking elsewhere. A real shame as we used to enjoy chatting with the staff that served us.

My wife, my younger son and I were shopping here after 23:30 on the first day of the Chinese New Year 2018. Coles here closes at 00:00 and is just five minutes walk away from the two-bed room Meriton Service Apartment that we checked in earlier, having just arrived using Uber service from the Sydney International Airport. Great varieties daily needs to choose here but the cheapest from the Hongkongers’ perspective is milk! Postscript We came here to buy to our hearts’ content again on Sept 24. 2018. My third time to visit Australia in. 2018 and my wife’s second time. There were many choices and we bought quite a lot of honey and snacks to carry them back to Hong Kong!

Ordered click and collect a few times,. It’s a bit hit and miss. One time we waited over 30 minutes for the groceries to be brought down. I’m currently waiting at the bay now and have called 5 times with no answer as it goes to voicemail. Have been waiting almost 40 minutes (and still counting) and still no response to my VM nor have they provided any confirmation that they are coming down. Pretty ridiculous service! EDIT: after one hour, i eventually reached the store and was told the number in the carpark bay did not work because the phone had been crushed but management could not bother changing the contact details in the carpark bay.

visiting Sydney from Melbourne and staying in Rosebery although woolworths is just around the corner but Coles Supermarket is always the 1st choice went to Coles located in Zetland as it was the closest one. very good parking which is free and the store itself is big Aisles are nicely stacked and clean.. loads of variety and everything is available as in for a supermarket checkout staff was quick and easy... I guess they must open halal meat section as this store remains open till midnight and it will be convenient for people to buy halal meat when butchers are closed

  • Nigel Janson

Really bad customer service here. Many items out of stock or placed on the incorrect shelf. Low fat items jumbled together with full fat so you get the wrong one by accident and they refuse to exchange it. Items in the freezer section completely covered in ice. Staff are rude and unhelpful. According to Cole’s official policy if an item scans incorrectly it’s supposed to be free but don’t expect that here because their machines have way too many errors for that to work. Don’t bother complaining to the manager either Karen because he don’t care.

  • Jorge Grey

Peter is unprofessional, rude, profiles customers and is the most disrespectful employee at this establishment. Jason the manager is worthless and evil. Ann has two faces. Both repulse me. Every employee is scared to do anything and they don't want to do much as they seem overworked and abused. I walk over to Waterloo Coles to avoid this dump, where I have purchased rotten meat, dairy and other items even though the date states they should be okay. Corporate needs to retrain and restaff this disaster. Immediately

Clean and tidy Coles with plenty of stock. Would highly rate it but it's also one of the strangest Coles I've ever been to. Upon exit, there is a gate which locks and staff need to press a button to let you out. I am guessing it's to stop theft but also surprised it's not illegal false imprisonment or seen as Unaustralian. The gates are low so theives can jump over it if they're desperate, all it seems to do it waste people's time waiting for inattentive staff to press the button and offend paying customers.

  • Penny Christie

My favourite supermarket. It's huge! The aisles are really wide and easy to get around; you can fit two shopping carts side by side and still have extra room. They stock almost everything you can think of. The underground parking is great and free for a couple of hours. The check out is usually pretty quick. They also stock a lot of fruit and vegetables you don’t normally see at smaller supermarkets. #wheelchairaccessible #supermarket #coles #letsguide

This Coles has a slight upmarket gourmet feel to it with a manned butcher section for meats and a manned deli section with cheese and charcuterie that looks classier than your average Coles. Otherwise, all your typical groceries and household items you would expect to get at your Coles is available at this good sized store. This Coles is also kept tidy and is quite pleasant to shop in. I also found staff to be approachable and helpful.

  • Lupe Milaslava

I love Coles but last night whilst I was scanning at self checkout an employee was watching me and my daughter like a hawk HE was standing very close to us it was very uncomfortable there were other customers he must of admired my cologne. Honestly he should of paid us to shop there considering the state of the store it reminded me of the female toilets at a music festival 2 stars for being open until 12 and for the free frying pan

  • Kate Griffiths

Chris, he is a lovely Asian man at the checkouts, I go just to see him. He is incredibly friendly and always happy, by far the best employee there! It would get a 2 star rating from me it is only higher because of Chris. The shelves are being packed while you are trying to shop which gets really annoying. Also you are lucky if you can get a trolley that actually moves in a straight line. The trolleys are in terrible condition.

  • Benny Kelana

There was one female register was very rude. She looks asian, a bit fat and around 30-40 years old, it happened between 6.00pm-7.00pm on Tuesday, 5 December 23. She just gave an empty bag to me and said she does not know how to bag. Does coles employ someone without know the basic handling items to the bag or is it the lazyness of the staff? Unbelievable low customer service and lazy. Also, we are not in covid zone anymore.

  • Tim

Absolutely always a great experience shopping at this store. I once asked a fresh produce team member if they had some red cabbage in the back, that was out of stock on the shelf. The bloke took the time to find it, and also asked if I needed half or a whole one. He then went back, chopped it in half, wrapped it and asked which half I wanted. Absolute champion! Fine example of how a Coles store should be run.

  • s maxwell

So now Coles has taken all check out operators off registers after 8pm according to a staff member. What a stupid decision. Another company choosing profit over people at all costs. What happens when a person doesn’t want to use self service or a disabled or just someone who is not comfortable with self checkout. This is a very bad decision on their part. I hope it backfires

  • Benji Bowman

Best Coles I've ever been to so far. Great options including the deli section and some upper class meats/cheeses. Very clean, very big and very new. Lovely cashier staff at the tills. Only downside is how busy it gets and it's a bit tough to navigate...but that only reinforces how great the store is, that everyone wants to go there.

  • Nicholas Robinson

Charges are reasonable and bring is sparkling. Customer support at the tills is a touch cheap. No longer very pleasant personnel nor do they percent your groceries into the bag very fine. All in all a great keep although. Smooth store with protection on-site in the nighttime for safe shopping. Anyway, overall medium experience.

  • Veer Sanghavi

Superb friendly staff and very helpful to those in need. Ample of selection available, especially for fresh produce. One of the best part is that it's open till late. Ample of parking space is available for inside the shopping centre. It's one of the biggest Coles in that area compared to other suburbs nearby.

  • Adam Abbi

I was super late one night and got there at 11.45pm 15 min before closing. The staff were so welcoming and patient and not once made me feel like I had to rush which of course I am a extremely experienced shopper so I was in and out in time to spare. Looking forward to returning with a more relaxed time frame.

  • Anerys McM

This is a beautiful place to do your daily or weekly shopping. Great variety of shops. You can also get your car washed here and / or have beauty treatments at the Laser Beauty Clinic. Ezylearn Languages Academy is also located very close to this facilities

  • Japes (Japes)

Minimal staff and now just self check out lanes. Watching a poor lady work through an entire trolley of groceries item by item. Very sad. And prices are going up! You’ve lost a customer, and I hope everyone else who feels the same sends the same message.

  • Ivone Liset Sanchez Sierra

The last time I visited this place, it was nighttime. Every corridor was full of workers getting out the wares, and people had to look for space just to walk. I think the logistics could improve in order to share a better experience in rush hours.

  • Kathy Brown

What a great find! You'll find a Coles in every neighborhood in Sydney. Coles was our go-to one-stop shop for groceries and home supplies during our 3-week stay in Sydney. The staff was always helpful and the store was well stocked & organized.

  • Agustina Alonso

As a customer, I had a disappointing experience at Coles due to the attitude of the store manager. I purchased an 8-pack of kiwis at the store for $4.50, but found out online that the price was $3.50. When I brought this to the attention of

  • Trisha Sciberras

Coles products seem to be sweeping across all the shelves now. Putting every other buisness out. Com'mon people, try and buy other brands if u can, so we can keep competition alive, and costs down for us...the consumer.

  • W. M-J

One of the best Coles within the area, much better then Coles at Eastgardens. More variety and fresh options and better quality products. Trolleys will lock if you attempt to push them outside the doors of Centre!

  • Zibo Lin

Great customer service, Ying was serving me when I shopped at the butchery, the ham was sliced perfectly. Best customer service experience I have ever had in the supermarkets. Will always come back !

  • Marty Clyde

Nice deli section. Convenient. A lot of cute doggos. Do not recommend between peak hours after work between 4:30pm and 6:30pm. Everyone rushes for their evening shop. The place gets overcrowded.

  • Stef

Evie, the cashier who served us was very helpful and courteous even though it was a very busy peak period! She packed everything very neatly and carefully without squashing fragile fruit.

  • Ivan Lee

One of the newer Coles with a decent butcher (although there's a much better one right next door) and a good deli offering good and fresh selection of cold cuts and cheeses.

  • Sathita Traitrong

It’s quite big grocery stores. Great location and serves its purpose. Plenty of self serve checkouts. There are a lot of fresh flower and plant to buy in front of the store.

  • C Tan

Very helpful male staff I forgot to ask his name. He tried to get me the Coles brand irresistible boysenberry ice cream when I couldn’t find it. Thumbs up! :))

  • Han Chew

Great place for local shopping and the butchers in the complex is the best. Don't be intimidated by the hoards of people walking around their athleisure gear.

  • E C (ecblog24)

Occasionally come to this store, went today for the first time in a few months and I’ve seen they’ve put more self checkouts and not many manned checkouts

  • Debby Pranoto

This is my local shop, I go there almost everyday to buy Groceries . Nice, clean and it opens till midnight which is always handy if we need something .

  • Caitlin Miller

Felt like I was being held at knife point by the lady in self serve. I get kids are stealing but I had $100 dollars worth of groceries on my own.

The lady who wears glasses from customer service was really rude this morning. It was a horrible experience, and I don't want to go back there

  • Sully Iqbal

This place was huge! Way bigger than I expected it would be, it looked clean and well done up. Very positive first shopping trip in Australia

  • B. R. Sharma

Experience par excellence. Fresh food to packed, you name it they have it. One stop shopping for groceries and fresh food and breads. …

Always the better Coles in the area. There is a few favourite items Coles stop stocking over he past few years reason for not giving 5/5.

  • Captain kranq

It's Coles. All the standard stuff. Staff seem pretty good and often see the same faces. That tells me that the staff are happy (ish).

  • Jey Yeo

Very busy coles with a lot of empty or 1/2 shelves maybe because it’s public holiday? The pros : available parking.

Good range Coles supermarket in the inner South suburbs of Waterloo/Zetland. There is parking at this centre.
