"I recently ordered a movie package through Uber Eats - I’d waited a long time to set this all up in my new home studio to do a shoot and review for the experience to share on my social media - movie night at home for 2 - it took almost 2 hours to arrive and the popcorn sadly was quite stale and the pop was warm, no ice, and flat and had leaked all over the bag and the ticket I wanted to use to describe this neat experience to share with others - was all wet Also, I wanted to add - it doesn’t explain to you on line that the movie your ordering is just movies mainly all on Netflix - not anything recent or new comes with it - also, while waiting for it to arrive it took so long to get set up on line and to try and just find something to watch - I actually called the location while waiting - you can’t set it up till you have the Ciniplex ticket and I left 2 voicemails asking for assistance and no response - I recorded some of that process in a video of how not user friendly it was and how disappointing and how long it all took approx 30 minutes - before I sat down and ate and watched a movie I’ve seen previously, I couldn’t find anything better that day For the cost of this movie experience 50$ dollars I must be honest and say it was not something I’d likely do again - I made the best of it and only took iPhone pics - didn’t bother with my camera and lighting or sharing on social media I’m sorry for my negative review today, I loathe giving them - I hope my feedback helps in any way to make this movie experience any better for others"

If I could give zero reviews I would, happily. I have always chosen to come here and watch movies and their customer service has been just going down. I watched Napoleon here today and the movie stopped half way, audio kept playing but no video. We’re waiting inside as some other guest watching the movie went out to see what’s going on, no one comes in to tell us anything and after waiting for 20 mins we go outside and tell them of the situation and the workers at the front rudely say “it was a false alarm you have to wait for 10 mins” and I tell them we’ve been waiting for the past 20 mins already and this girl goes “you have to wait more and talk to my manager if you have issues”. Then I just wait outside because I don’t want to go in the theatre and listen to just the audio and this other girl comes up to me I’m not sure if she was the manager or supervisor and right off the bat she has the rude tone in and goes “what’s the issue here” and I tell her about the false alarm and that I’m just waiting here for it go back to normal and then she goes “yes wait with some patience if you have”. I don’t think if I am paying $80, buying food from them supporting them I should be treated like this. I understand stuff happens and also this was not the movie stopped mid way, it happened once before as well and for that they gave us free tickets but this time they only gave it to specific people, not us. Even though we asked if they were going to give us some tickets as other people watching the movie with us got them but the girl just said no and walked away. I would recommend any other theatre but this one.

Loving the seats and the fact that there is a barrier between us and the people behind and in front of us, all for the same price. At Landmark Cinema, if you want privacy, it's considered premium seating, and you have to pay more. Now, mind you, the privacy seating at Landmark has all 3 sides covered for privacy, which Cineplex doesn't offer that option, from what I could tell, but I was really delighted when I saw what they had to offer. On top of all that, there was a cleanup crew on standby when we were exiting the theater, and they were pleasant with smiles on their faces. At Landmark, it was a mess. Nobody was around to do any cleaning before or after we saw a movie. At Cineplex, it was an enjoyable experience all around. From greeting staff scanning our tickets to concession stand employees getting our snacks, all in all, it was an enjoyable experience. I can't confirm this, but I'm willing to bet that being an employee at Cineplex has far more benefits than Landmark, because it just seems to me that the employees at Cineplex enjoy working because they love what they do and get treated fairly, whereas at Landmark they get paid to do a job and that's all they are getting from them, nothing more.

Subject: Hygiene Concern Regarding Unclean Cup Holders & Unfortable seat. I recently attended a Movie in AVX#1 at your theater and wanted to bring to your attention a concern regarding the cleanliness of the cup holders in the seating area. Unfortunately, the cup holder at my seat was not clean, which was quite disappointing. Maintaining cleanliness, especially in commonly used areas like cup holders, is crucial for the overall enjoyment and satisfaction of patrons. I recommend paying attention to the cleanliness of such amenities to ensure a more pleasant experience for everyone attending your theater. Unfortunately, the old-fashioned seats in the theater not only lacked the expected comfort of modern recliners but also caused significant discomfort, leading to back pain during and after the Movie. Thank you for your consideration, and I hope this feedback contributes to enhancing the overall cleanliness standards at your venue.

Went to see the new Taylor Swift concert movie with my lovely wife. We went to an early afternoon show on a Sunday and it wasn't too busy, which was good for getting snacks for the show. The popcorn was so tasty, we didn't add extra butter and still it was so good. Getting in with a pre-purchased tickets was quick and easy. We picked the theater with the reclining seats, this is the way to watch a movie, especially if it is a long movie like this one. The theatre was clean and the sound was amazing. I'm not a huge Taylor Swift fan, but this movie was excellent. Her stage show was outstanding and I enjoyed all the songs even hearing most of them for the first time. We got our moneys' worth, and even had the live concert feel with about 12 teenage girls behind us dancing and singing along with many of the songs. I would recommend this movie and this theatre to anyone.

Alright the experience was definitely a 3 star rating, so was suppose to see the “sound of freedom” but it ended up being sold out, had issues with self serve machine so needed to see a teller, so I decided to watch Joy Ride instead, while the recliner chairs, food, movie & sound was amazing they could definitely try to upgrade the bathrooms as they are just god awful. Prices for food though is waaaayyy too OVERPRICED, on top of that why can’t they have the entire food menu @ the concession stand, not that if I see something from the “outtakes” section, I need to order at the concession stand again & staff should try to keep the condiments stand cleaned & filled. The thing that really made the experience decently enjoyable was the food and movie, everything else about theatres is just god awful

Cineplex is the perfect place to experience the latest movies in style. With state-of-the-art technology and comfortable seating, you can be sure to have a memorable time. And speaking of memorable, Fast 10 was a thrilling and action-packed ride from beginning to end. From the stunning car chases to the intense fight scenes, this movie kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. The characters were well-developed and the storyline was engaging, making it easy to get invested in the movie. Overall, my experience at Cineplex was fantastic and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great night out. And if you're a fan of the Fast & Furious franchise, then you won't want to miss this latest installment. It's a must-see for any action movie lover!

  • HengamehD

Horrible!!! Last night we went to watch Barbie there... First, the seats were so old and uncomfortable! Even though we paid almost as much as we normally pay for a movie at Landmark which has perfect seats (they were sold out that's why we went to Cineplex!) and we thought that's the worst part of it! But then we looked at the screen and we were shocked! I don't know if the screen was so dirty or it had problems and was just an old screen, but all... literally all of the screen was full of big black lines! I took a picture of it so you can see how horrible it was! Seriously we were so disappointed... I can't believe we paid for that! It feels like scam! You can have old seats, but what's your excuse for that awful screen?

LOVE coming to South Common with our kids to take in a movie. The clubhouse is well worth the drive. It opens 30 minutes prior to the movie, and the kids love running around and climbing through the play area. Only 3 stars, because their current cleaning procedures are absolutely atrocious. “Enhanced cleaning protocols” my foot. We are literally the only 4 people in the WHOLE theatre, and the pictures show the current state of the room. Covid or not, this is embarrassing for the price you pay for movies nowadays. Garbage and popcorn strewn across the seats and floor throughout. Buttered fingerprints on your armchairs. Come on now.

I did a snapshot or whatever it’s called but I’m not sure how it works but I want to take a minute to write a review about this one employee who is literally the sweetest girl I have met at this location (shout out it’s late, but better late than never)I come to watch a movie Aug 15th , 22nd and 24th in the evening and all 3 times the same person has been in box office (I believe her name is Keondra) she is most sweetest employee i’ve ever interacted with at this Cineplex she’s always smiling , being someone who used work at a movie theatre working the box office can be overwhelming but she doing great hope to see her again soon.

This location is pretty clean and accessible from the highway and bus routes. The staff is friendly and willing to accommodate for people in need. The seats recline and a tray that moves to position your snacks in front of you. There's also a glass holder available. Comfortable leather seats and more leg room than some of the other theatres l've visited in the past. The only bad thing I have to say is I don't think the sound is as good as the other cinema in the area. I do enjoy seeing movies here. There are advantages to both theaters, depending on what your doing. This would be my first choice for a date.

  • Sara Mercer

From walking in my children and I were greeted with enthusiasm. There was no line up, we reserved and bought tickets online. We only waited a couple minutes to get snacks. We were happy to see a new VR arcade sadly you have to be at least 9 years old otherwise your child might not be able to use it. We watched in the new AVX theater with new leather spacious seating. The sound was a little to loud for us but great. We enjoyed some games after. Im not not happy about prices for popcorn, drink, and snack... $18.67 ... really? I'm glad I snuck in a purse full of snacks for my kids at I.

  • JonJonPoPong

Me and my friend for years have been going to windermere VIP and the $25 a ticket has been off putting. We decided to go see Dungeons and Dragons at the south common theater as we had dinner on the south side at Varsity. The tickets were only $15? Each and the theater was nicer than the VIP. There were less seats, tons of leg room (I'm six foot 3) and i was able to enjoy their nice black leather power recliners, these seats are much better than the VIPs. Staff were nice and the place is clean and pleasant. This is my go to theater from now on. Set up your game Windermere.

  • Charles Lendzion

It sucks but this is the third movie in a row (Mission Impossible, Guardians 3 and John Wick - yes I have a type) that while the movies have been good (MI) to great (JW) and the seats amazing the experience has been ruined by the audience. In two instances it was by parents bringing in kids to not quite an age appropriate movie. Not the theatres fault but it is their venue. In the other instance it was phone usage, again not the theatres fault. Do I leave and ask for a refund during the first half hour? Guess that's what I should do. Grrrr

  • Raeschell Ward

This used to be a nice theater and now it's a dump. The bathrooms are so disgusting, tickets are crazy expensive now and they have just let the place get rundown. Only a few theaters have been upgraded to have reclining seats. Landmark is so so much better. We just paid $19.50 for the AVX theater which has the most uncomfortable old seats ever. The popcorn tasted burnt. Just a disappointing outing that cost $80 dollars for 2 people. We won't be coming back

  • Melody Rutherford

Took my granddaughter to the movie last night, we were in UltraAVX theater. Movie was great but theater, as in the whole complex, was dirty and rundown, and so expensive. Floor was so sticky, chair was squeaky, the pricing was ridiculous, most of the staff acted like they were being forced to be there. The whole experience was quite dismal. Gave this rating an extra star for the movie otherwise it would only be a one star.

  • Fred Knupp

I can understand why ticket prices are more expensive than before, the seating has had a serious upgrade... The seats are just as good as what was in the VIP theaters before... Being able to recline and put your feet up is great... A lot more comfortable than the old seating they had. Would definitely come on a Tuesday though to take advantage of the reduced pricing. Overall, great to see the upgrades

  • Gaga79able

The best cinema. We went to see John Wick 4, we were in number 6. It's our first time sitting in big leather chairs. The chairs can be adjusted to raise your legs, true relaxation and enjoying a movie with of course the best popcorn. And I really like that there is a fence between the rows so that no one can kick the seat from behind. Everything was perfect, from movie to amazing leather chairs to popcorn.

  • L H

The movie was awesome but the seats at the very front shouldn't even be there as an option for seating. Too close to the screen. Even though the seats recline, you get a sore neck, and if you're prone to motion sickness, beware. Btw... if you're short, the plush seats with the neck rest push your head forward causing even more discomfort. Will be bringing a pillow next time... if there is a next time.

  • Kenrich

The movie didn’t play on time. We waited 30 minutes and we finally went outside to remind them that there was supposed to be a movie to be played. After we waited 10 more minutes for them just to have the AUDACITY to play the Ads. This is just unacceptable to be honest, i’ve almost finished my food. I’m writing this right now as the Ad plays because there is no way they’re doing this to us right now.

  • B Deol

Really need to start adding that blurb before the show about talking and being on your phone. Seems like at this point it should be common sense, but lately seems like a lot of people need the reminder… If Cineplex can’t let people know it’s not ok to talk throughout an entire movie, it completely jeopardizes everyone’s experience, and defeats the purpose for movie lovers to pay them to see a show!

  • Thabani Conrad

Cineplex met my expectations and provided a great movie experience. The comfortable reclining seats, coupled with the spaciousness of the theater, allowed me to relax and enjoy the movie to the fullest. Despite having someone in the adjacent seat, I felt at ease and comfortable throughout the entire screening. I highly recommend Cineplex to all movie enthusiasts who seek both comfort and quality.

  • ER W

Feels like it's halfway shut down. Dirty and a little run down. The theater we were in had all the audle tags torn off and the floor was pretty nasty. Many of the self-serve machines aren't (or weren't) functional. The film was great, but everything leading up to it abd after felt like walking through a theater that is shutting down in a couple of weeks and stopped caring for upkeep

  • Jeff Womacks

I saw two incredible movies today Maestro then followed it with Godzilla Minus One. But the reason I'm writing a review is because of a friendly, quick and professional assistance from a gentleman named Jordan when i wanting to change my seat for a less crowded row. I visit this theater on a weekly basis and I really appreciate good customer service. Thanks Jordan

  • yatharth bhalla

Saw "Salaar" at Cineplex, and you bet I'd watch it twice! The cinema experience was so good; it's like they sprinkled extra magic on the popcorn. The sound was epic, the screen was larger than life, and the only thing better than the movie was the feeling of pure cinematic bliss. Salaar, you've got me hitting rewind on the movie and the Cineplex experience!

  • Mehedi Hasan Emon

Went to watch Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning - Part One movie. We have paid $27 for 1 person Dbox and this kind of seats they provide. Almost all of the Dbox seats compete with each other which is the worst one. Seriously they have to upgrade the seats and repair all of them. It’s a rip off for Dbox in this location. Don’t go for Dbox in this location.

  • Adetoyese Oyedun

At first, this cinema complex is almost same style and standard as the one at the north end of the city. On a second look, this cinema outlet seems not to be as crowded as that of the North, although I visited on a Standard early afternoon. The popcorn and drink accessories are fairly not expensive and the experience was memorable for my son... Love it...

  • Jay McCarthy (mccarthy)

I really wanted to see Wonka so I got 5:00 pm tickets in recliner seats. As I got in my seat it was comply but did not fully recline as much as my friends. Still had a great experience and was entertained. The staff seemed to be busy with duties and not intrusive. And the popcorn was for some reason very good. Perfect evening. Thank you

  • Hari Khalsa

Movies are so expensive these days - tickets and concessions. At least you get a comfortable experience with options. Perhaps a personal preference, but the theatres are always several decibels to loud. Seating that lets you relax and enjoy the full show helps the headache chill a bit. All in all, a Cineplex experience to be sure.

  • Jennifer Thomas

This Ciniplex is in South Common on Parsons Road. There is free and ample parking space. The staff are good and helpful . The Ultra AVX theater was very good. It was very spacious the seats were broad and leg space was plenty. The theater itself was bigger. It's clean and well maintained. Visited this theater a number of times .

  • Cherry Santos

Washroom was a little run down with some broken stalls and sinks. But it's a theatre, and getting used to the recliners from landmark just make it hard to sit in those old seats. I don't understand why they tilt forward by default. It's just not comfortable or ergonomic. But popcorn was good and the movie quality is great.

  • Aaron Magnum

The men’s washrooms in this location smell like urine. The past 3 times I’ve been here it’s been nauseating but I was thinking it may have just been a bad night. The staff need to mop/clean this washroom more frequently. I was literally gagging. I don’t know how this is acceptable from a health standard.

  • Mridul Krishnan

One of the best cineplex in Edmonton Loved their reclining seats. Sound quality is good. Can improve on the options in food & beverage in the cineplex cafeteria. Automated movie Ticket booking Machines here need good maintenance and are extremely slow and may show errors . Overall experience was good .

  • Mona Haftshayjani

The chairs were too old and uncomfortable. But the worse part was the screen full of black lines, especially for showing the Barbie, which has a light color on background. So, the black lines on screen made it more annoying. I cannot believe that we paid for a horrible night.

  • Kirk Dewhurst

Came here to see a movie , imagine that! Sing 2 was our choice. We enjoyed the movie and the theatre was comfortable. There is lots room, the seats are comfortable. Lots of movie screens at this location and lots of parking. My wife and I had a great time. …

  • Zachary Terbeek

10 minutes of TV commercials after the movie start time and before the trailers even began. Ridiculous. As bad as commercials are at a theater, at least get the commercials out of the way by the time the movie is supposed to start. Not cool.

  • Paula

Its a good place to hang out. Lovation is superb. Ticketing, process, snacks, arcade, VR everything s pretty cool. They get 1 less star for not cleaning up after people leave. Especially where people leave drinks and stuff..

  • Kevin Reinbolt

Filthy, old, outdated, overpriced, employees that clearly don't want to be there.....you could even see how worn out the screen was while watching the movie. Will be going to landmark from now on. Avoid at all costs

  • Adam Rogers

A bit pricy but good quality and value for the money. A woman at the concession stand -- Karol -- is probably one of the most professional and courteous concessioners I have encountered at any cinema worldwide.

  • Sara Rideout

My husband and I really enjoy this location for all our date nights. Typical Ciniplex nothing special that you cannot get at another location I just prefer this one over others around Edmonton.

  • Kris Wells

Close by, has changed a lot since I was a wee lad. Theatres are kinda small compared to other Cineplexes but it has a LOT of them. Good events. Celebrated my eighth birthday there back in 07'.

  • Kavitha Dharmaraju

It was a fun and entertaining experience watching the movie in the reclining chairs with friends yesterday. Customer Service was great. I would go to the Cineplex South common again. …

  • Brenda Swanson

Andre Rieu! Have seen 3 of his shows and theatre was sparse with patrons. Went today and it’s SOLD OUT! No other shows scheduled and I’m SO disappointed! Please bring him back this week!

  • Jayson Candles

What a wonderful visit! Me and the wife watched Sonic 2 here and it was a great experience! The recliner seats are a huge bonus except you get stiff after a hour or more

  • Jay Garlough

Thanks for a great experience. First time back here in a couple of years. Friendly staff and a clean theatre. What more can you ask for. A good movie helps too.

  • Lisa Kennedy

The theatre is great but the staff are a bit lackluster. I did get pretty quick help, though, when our screen went blank. Chairs are super comfy and recline.

  • Marlene Hoang

Clean and love it having the full recliner chairs. The clubhouse theater for kids is a bonus with the playground. Too bad this location doesn't have VIP

  • baljindersingh singh

Clean and well maintained with good Ambience. So glad that they started showing indian movies and no more travel to the NW part of the city. …

  • Meanie Nene

Nice theater. We literally go for the comfy full size reciners. Once you try those, there's no going back. Regular seats won't do it anymore.

  • Kayla Beach

Great theatre! Friendly staff. Lots of things to see and do here. Not as packed as other theatres I’ve been to. Highly recommend! 5 stars

  • Pat Ferland

Nice clean movie theater, comfy the price of popcorn and pop is rediculous though, and really, charging for butter, is a biit much!!

  • reth R

Accessibility to the area and surroundings. Staff were friendly and easy to approach. Captioning tools are available and easy to use

  • Evelyn Bohonos

The movie we saw was captivating....Denzel Washington is once again amazing in Equilizer 3. This is a "must-see" for Denzel fans.

  • Habib Ahmad

Great theatre and lots of things to do. The only thing they should work on it the movie sound it’s seriously too loud.

  • Enrique Zenteno

The seats are very comfortable. The screen is good size and they are like reclinable sofas. Good place for dating.

  • Robin McFarlane

Great movie and as always fabulous popcorn! Such comfortable recliner chairs make watching a movie such a treat.

  • Sagar Thind

Absolutely 0 quality seats, sound systems etc. I wouldn’t recommend. Go to landmark for better service overall.

  • Nathanyel O

Went to see Godzilla Minus One. Was a good movie, popcorn was tasty, and the cast members were chill.

  • Erik Zeitz

Service was a bit slow getting food. Otherwise, a decent experience! Theatre was clean and well kept.

  • Ryan Hanna

Briana makes the best boneless chicken wings at Outtakes. Tyler does a pretty good job as well.

  • Salman Makhani

Always great experience. Even when theatre was busy the lineup for pop corns didn’t took long.

  • William Cardinal

I love these full recliner chairs at South Common Cineplex, way better comfort. Thank you

  • AK P

The theatre is nice with comfortable seating and we always enjoy my movie time.

  • Demola Adeosun

I think I prefer the 3D movies over the SceneX but overall, great experience.

  • Pasang Sherpa

First time it was very good experience. Clean washroom, comfortable seats.

  • Royal Crown's

Enjoyed 3D experience Snack options could be upgraded. …

  • OldDude Nord

It's great theatre, with some very comfortable, reclining seats.
