This restaurant uses locally raised, free range, halal chicken, and is a great place to go if you like fried chicken with some spice as there are a few different flavour options to choose from. The non-spicy flavor is limited to the one Lemon Pepper option, or you can opt for no spice (i.e. Plain) for the other menu items. Food 4.5/5 - The fried chicken here (wings and bites) has just the right amount of batter, good texture, and is perfectly crispy. I also enjoyed their waffle fries and coleslaw. I rated the food 4.5 because I've had my chicken overcooked and slightly burnt before, and don't love the sandos. Service 3/5 - Like most fast food restaurants, you're expected to place your order at the counter and then wait for your food to be prepared. This place can be pretty busy in terms of the number of orders they get, which results in long wait times for your food. I've had to wait approximately 45 minutes for my order once. However, the food was fresh. I would recommend ordering your food in advance, and then picking it up at the restaurant to avoid the long wait. Atmosphere 2/5 - the interior looks like an old diner, with worn furniture, dim lighting, and inventory out in the open. There's a bit of seating if you want to eat there, but overall, I don't think the atmosphere is great for dining in.

I waited to visit this joint a few times before writing a review, but I am confident in writing a 5-star for this joint. Chica's is some of the best fried chicken you can get in Toronto, and really makes the drive from downtown worth it. First of all, the pieces are mammoth-sized. Just a breast/wing and a side will fill you up real good. Even though it's a giant breast, it remains incredibly moist and full of flavour. Be warned, the Hot AF is actually hot, so go for a medium if you've got some spice tolerance but still want to enjoy your meal. The skin is so crispy and delicious and goes very well with the chicken. The buttermilk ranch dressing is out of this world, and tastes so good with the chicken, and really helps to cool things down when it gets a bit hot. The bread underneath soaks up all the chicken goodness and completes the experience. If you want it all put together, then get the sandwich, which has all the components in every bite. The waffle fries are amazing too. Nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and they're a nice break from the heat of the chicken. The coleslaw is average, but still an enjoyable accompaniment to the chicken. It has to be stated that the staff are insanely friendly and nice. Everything is made to order, but they make the wait much more palatable. Head on over and get some great chicken and sides. Follow @foodpharaoh on Instagram for more food adventures.

I’m not a fan of chicken sandwich and I think I got confused with the menu coz i was expecting a bun but i got the sandwich. Nonetheless, the chicken was well seasoned and juicy! The sauce and other mix in the sandwich well complimented the chicken and it was balanced. Even the fries was well seasoned. I am not a fan of the place as it was a little cramped and exhaust wasn’t that good. I hope they move or have another branch with updated interiors and cleaner setup. I would suggest you just oder for delivery as the place doesn’t give justice to how good their chicken is. We parked at the back which was paid parking and walked to the place. I didn’t notice if it was wheelchair accessible but i think it’s very well accessible for commuters. Service is a bit slow but understandable considering the line up for pickups when we were there and i don’t mind coz the food was served freshly cooked and the servers were nice and they are working and not just chillin and chattin. Would definitely order again and highly suggest you give this a try!

The words don't even exist to describe how amazing this place is! This is by far the best fried chicken we have ever had! We literally travel over 2 hours just to eat here because it's that good. The food itself is delicious. Their sandwiches are delicious hot (and cold the next day if you have leftovers). The Buffalo chicken sandwich balanced with spicy and savoury. I recommend ordering an extra side of ranch with it. The sweet heat sandwich is spicy with a kick of jalapeño and a hint of sweetness. The jalapeños make it a perfect bite everything. The best side to order with this sandwich is coleslaw. The OG sandwich comes in a variety of spice levels and is an elevated classic chicken sandwich. I usually order it mild/medium or medium just because I find that spice level best compliments the sandwich. The chicken itself is super juicy, flavourful, and always hot! The portions are also a great size and if you have a small appetite you will always have leftovers. This place has amazing service as well and everyone who works there is great! If you don't like waiting, I recommend using their pre-order feature on the website. If you don't mind a small wait or are dining-in, ordering in the restarant is fine.

I will update this review when I go back k to this restaurant. But My gf was the one to go on and get the food, so I can't comment on the service or atmosphere yet. But the food was delicious. Got the OG chicken bites and spicy waffle fries. The Waffle fries are seasoned well, cooked through fully and great potato taste and mouth feel. Definitely not your hollow over fried waffle fries. They hold up and are delicious. The OG bites are crunchy and succulent pieces of meat, seasoned heavily. I got the medium heat bites and they are very hot. Mouth was on fire eating them. Will definitely get medium next time. The dipping sauce it comes with perfectly compliments the heat of the bites. For the food alone u give this place a 5/5.

I've been enjoying Chica's chicken for a couple of years and can fully recommend to anyone who loves fried chicken, fried pickles (very tasty), sauces, and sandwiches The Buffalo sando is a favorite. Sweet heat bites are fire, super saucy with pickled jalapeños, packed with flavor. The first time I got the original sando, I ordered it hot af, and I nearly died. The spice is fiery! Now I get medium spice because clearly I can't handle the Nashville heat, lol. Ordering online in advance is usually on time, but if it's not timed out right, the food is packed in a plastic bag and tied. Please ditch the plastic bags as they compromise the integrity of the deep fried goodness. No one likes a soggy waffle fry :) The best part is the chicken is halal and local! Thank you, Chica's Chicken !

Without a doubt the best fried chicken in the city and probably the best I've ever had. Excellent flavours, taxtures, and cooked to perfection. Their breading is light yet super crispy, and despite delivery, remained crispy - even the sauces up options we ordered. Sauces/flavour options are incredible, the sweet heat and lemon pepper being our favourites. Their in house dipping sauces are also amazing and a must! Everything, even down to the bean salad which I'm not usually a huge fan of, was absolutely incredible. Portions are great and value is definitely worth it given the high quality and execution. This is a must try for any fried chicken fan and likely will be a list topper!

After being told countless times by my friends Chica’s the best place for fried chicken, I finally made the trip to try Chica's. It was on a late Saturday evening 45 min before closing. I ordered ahead via phone for pickup. I ordered their Wings (H) w Waffle Cut Fries, OG Sando on Toast (H) w Bean Salad and 2-piece (H) w Coleslaw. Options from Mild to Hot AF spice level depending on your tolerance. Chicken across the board were juicy and well seasoned, the coleslaw and bean salad paired well to balance the heat. What stood out for me was the sandwich and I will come again just for that. Chica’s is not a fancy place at all and decor is old. However, the employees are friendly and happy to serve you. I do recommend placing your order ahead of time by phone or online. My meal came out to $85 including Tip.

Located at the corner of Dundas and Keele, Chica's OG sandwich was superb. You can make at a combo with your choice of coleslaw, beans, salad, rice and other things, and a drink. Staff was friendly and prompt, they warned me the "spicy" chicken is really spicy so I went for medium, I didn't find it spicy at all. They serve the orders on cardboard boxes lined with wax paper, my sandwich was so tasty and loved the crunchiness, the mayo, all of it. Just remembering it is making me crave it. Other than sandwiches they also have chicken wings, I don't know, everything sounded really succulent to me. I definitely will come back for more. There is a municipal parking half a block from the intersection.

This is my first time, trying a different alternative fried chicken sandwich spot other than Dave’s and I would say that this place does make really good fried chicken sandwiches and I would definitely come here again it’s just that it is very heavy and I did feel it after eating it but again what can you expect? It is a fried chicken sandwich And the only complaint that I would have is the place itself is pretty old and little bit rundown and I do wish they would maybe do a little bit of renovations. Service was a 10 out of 10.

We had two OG sandos on brioche buns and an order of waffle fries and everything was unbelievably delicious. The waffle fries were super fresh (made to order) and just gigantic! Seasoned well with salt as well. The sandwiches were crispy with the perfect amount of breading but it is the flavours between the seasoning and the sauce that take them to the next level. $40 for lunch for two people with tip is 100% worth it! The only thing I recommend watching out for is the spice level. My husband got mild/medium which is supposed to be their lowest heat level and he found it too overwhelming. We will be back!

By far the best Fried Chicken I’ve tried and I’ve been to quite a few in Toronto. The sandwich was so delicious and the chicken was so tender. The hot and honey bites were incredibly tasteful. Still having flash backs about them haha definitely going to be coming back to get more. The Cajun waffle fries were fireeeee, ouffff really delicious!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO EVERYONE. Best Nashville fried chicken in Toronto! I've been going here ever since they opened in 2018 and I always and only get the 1/2 chicken meal ($24.50) which is enough to feed 2 people. Without fail, it's always consistent and their chicken pieces are big, moist and juicy. That also applies to their white meat too! I personally find it tricky making chicken breast taste good without overcooking it and making it dry but at Chica's, they always cook everything to perfection where it's so enjoyable and tasty. Buttermilk ranch sauce is irresistible and pairs very well with their chicken. I would highly recommend!

The Michelin Guide knows very well why they included this place in their list, and rightly so. The Buffalo Chicken Sandwich was delicious, the flavors were perfected, the waffle fries tasted amazing, had a great color and were crispy. However, this place is not very nice, crates with buns were in the middle of the restaurant, it looks like you are sitting there during the renovation. Staff was not in a very good mood either.

This place has been on my list for years and I finally got to cross it off! They use nice buns. But of course the star of the show here is the amazing friend chicken. They have a few options for the type of sandwich you'd like. I went for the sweet heat. I really liked the sauce on the chicken but I was a bit disappointed by the lack of toppings. They only slapped a bunch of still-wet, canned jalapenoes on the sandwich. A piece of lettuce and tomato would go a long way on their sandwiches. The interior is very drab as well. Service is ok, not particularly warm but not bad either.

  • Robyn Huang

I do honestly want to give this a five because our server (cook) was so, so nice and friendly. The portions were ginormous, not that expensive and everything tasted so good. That sandwich was so crispy and delicious. But after inhaling everything, we felt really, really uncomfortably heavy the rest of the day. I guess, if the plan is to nap off the afternoon and evening, this would be a great lunch. There’s nothing much to the spot; it’s a bit quaint and hole in the wall. Honestly, really tasty, but just need to flush it down with green vegetables for the next day or so.

  • Anthony Dee

The lady that takes the orders was great. Don’t expect the dining area to be lavish it’s seating to eat. Food was good! The chicken burgers were solid and they even cut them in half for sharing. The fries tho! The waffle fries here is a must! Order a dipping sauce before for them too and it’s a perfect pair. Next time maybe I’ll try the chicken as I feel a tad let down with their chicken burgers, don’t get me wrong they were good but felt like I wouldn’t go out of my way for the burgers..maybe those fries tho solid 4/5

Shared Sweet Heat Sando and Crispy Buffalo Chicken Sando. Chicken was super juicy and crispy, the sweet & spicy sauce was just the right amount of sweet and the ranch with the buffalo sauce was the highlight of it all. Thank you Chica’s for staying open and blessing us with these flavours!!! 2021/01/09 Update: I have officially tried everything on the menu. My verdict is still ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The OG: My favourite - if you’re good with spice, Medium/Hot AF is the sweet spot. I would even go for Medium. The coleslaw & pickles were so good. Get a side of Ranch - just do it.

Came here amid the Michelin guide and the high google reviews. I’m a fried chicken fan but frankly I’m a bit disappointed. Had the OG sandwich, buffalo sandwich and also a 2 piece combo with fries and slaw among the 3 of us. The chicken was nice and juicy but found the flavour too overpowering. Buffalo sauce was too tangy and the spices on the chicken too strong. Overall too greasy and salty for our taste. Service was good though. Able to order ahead from the website and the girl at the counter was very nice.

The BEST nashville fried chicken and waffle fries. They were a good portion for the price and perfectly seasoned and crispy. I prefer the texas toast with the fried chicken but the brioche bun is also very delicious. The employees were nice and the music made the eating experience more enjoyable. Something to note is everything is made-to-order so expect around a 20-30 minute wait—you can call ahead if you don’t want to wait too long. There’s also no AC but the fans did well enough in 28 degree weather.

Wow this place blew my expectations. The fried chicken is like no other in the city. Spicy with a nice crunch on the batter. Chicken was juicy and flavorful. The buttermilk ranch dressing is a must it has a sweetness to it and compliments the spiciness very well. My wife it typically does not enjoy coleslaw said that and this one was very good. And my kid love the waffle fries they're in crunchy crispy and cooked well. Looking forward to going back with some of friends.

Jalapeño Popper-This sandwich offers a perfect blend of flavors and textures. The crispy chicken provides a satisfying crunch, complemented by the zesty kick of pickled jalapeños. The chipotle sauce adds a smoky and spicy layer, elevating the overall taste. A delightful combination for those who crave a spicy and savory experience.

This place was a ways off from where i am so im glad i put some time to visit a couple of weeks ago. The chicken was tender and juicy while the seasoning from the mild chicken to the hottest were perfect( the hottest level is definitely for those that love spicy food). The waffle fries with its slight sweetness went well with the chicken and coleslaw were great as well. Ill be back to try more things soon, id definitely be a regular if i lived closer.

A Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant serving Nashville style hot fried chicken! @chicas.chicken located in the junction is quite popular for their crispy and juicy in house spice rubbed chicken sourced locally. I tried their OG SANDO and even though I can't handle spice, this was delicious with the mid spice topped with slaw. This is a place to check out after a tiring grocery haul.

By far and away the best fried chicken sandwich I have ever had, and I've tried a lot. The quality of the chicken was outstanding and the spices were so on point. Crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside. Perfectly cooked and fresh right on the spot. The Cajun waffle fries were also excellent. Vibe in the restaurant seems good too. Would be an awesome place to dine in when it's open. Definitely recommend this place.

Reasonable prices and portions that will make your mouth water. This my new favourite burger place in Toronto and it’s 100% halal. Kudos to owner for having an amazing menu and for making it halal so it’s available to muslim community. Edit 2023: Burgers are smaller the size now and price went up too. The place is cool, the staff is awesome and the food is amazing in its simplicity. There is a very easy menu to navigate because, let’s face it, you’re here for some fried chicken! This is the real deal. I will add a word of caution: Hot AF is genuinely hot as F!!! Be warned. I like to eat chicken with a hit of pepper spray, so I was happy with it.

The BEST Nashville Hot Chicken in the city! The OG was so damn flavorful, and hot was HOT.
