BEWARE - Worse customer service experience I've had. Everyone was very friendly until........... I've purchased a steel rim and winter tire combo from Canadian tire with the plans of having new summer tires installed on my summer rims. This is the first time I've needed tires since buying my new vehicle I was looking forward to the improved ride over the worn out set once the winter combo was ready to come off. I'm very particular with my vehicles and hand wash and detail myself. Knowing the struggles of working on a dirty vehicle I let the Service Manager know that I wanted to wash the rims before dropping off to help his team and ensure changing tires and balancing was a smooth process. Picking up my rims everything was in order and all the tires had been wrapped in plastic bags (Albeit 2 hours later than when they said the work would be done- not a big deal). receiving the tires late meant they would now have to wait to be installed the next day (Sunday). However once opening up the plastic wrap from each tire I noticed a consistent black scratch on 3 of my 4 rims! After waiting several days for the manager to address my concerns and he reviewing the surveillance video it was determined that they would cover the costs to fix two of the 3 rims. I wasn't pleased and left the situation to sleep on it overnight. I realized before accepting my fate to ask to review the Surveillance video myself. Big surprise the video had been deleted and was not available for my review. Ok 2nd option, I decided that being a detailer and having access to polishing compounds I could save both of us money and try and polish out the scratches myself. Unfortunately upon cleaning the rims for polishing I found more significant damage! This time I found the inside of the rims had been gouged from removing the original factory wheel weights that had been adhesive taped in place. One of which has had a sander used with a large area of finished ground down to the bare aluminum! UPON RETURN TO THE SERVICE MANAGER WITH THIS NEW DAMAGE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT CANADIAN TIRE CAUSEING SCRATCHES AND SANDING ALLOY RIMS WAS STANDARD PRACTICE AND TO BE EXSPECTED! Needless to say I was floored at this response and lack of concern for their technicians malpractice, This was acceptable my the management team! The offer still stands that they will fix two however the other two will be at my cost to repair! I not only paid to purchase new tires and rims and the costs to have them changed now I'm expected to fix a problem I thought I was hiring professionals for. Very disappointed this location doesn't stand behind their work.

Well here's my first impression. They are still under construction for months now, and the entrance/exits are not fully operational. The store has intense security, which is not very welcoming at all for the customer. Maybe if they spent more money hiring staff to help customers, and not hired security and locked up tools that require 10 minutes waiting for an employee to open, they would have a better review score and increased customer satisfaction. Here was my experience today though. I Tried to make a return for an open box, in which the policy is up to the discretion of the store, as per Canadian Tire policy. The employees working there were about to process a full refund or store credit, until the General Manager 'SUE', cancelled the return on me out of spite. The reason she said was because she couldn't verify that my product had missing pieces, due to not having stock of product (obvious lie, she's just a wicked woman), and basically was calling me a liar, and making this bizarre scenario that I didn't bring all the pieces back for my return. Then she told me to go to Sherwood Park store, 'down the road', when it's in a different city and at least 10 minute drive away. As per Canadian Tire policy, refunds can be accepted at any Canadian Tire. Also, after I had to inform Sue, whom is the general manager about Canadian Tire's return polices, she then said she won't accept the return because of a new condition, that being it's open box now, just cause out of spite. This proves that the only purpose she goes to work in the morning for, is to ruin people's day, she lives for this, and loves it. She's a sick, vile and wicked woman, whom shouldn't be at this level of authority, especially when she lacks basic de-escalation with customers and is absent in any form of professionalism. Immediately when I saw Sue, I saw a woman whose been in power too long and her soul is corrupted, she's the kind of woman that spreads misery, hate and suffering to all the employees working around her, like Chernobyl or a parasitic vampire or leech. You know that feeling you get, when you can look at someone and already know that their intentions are bad, I already knew by looking at her what she was going to do. My interaction with the General Manager 'Sue' today, was one of the most unpleasant and unprofessional encounters I have had at any Canadian Tire store. Do not go here for returns, you wont get one, because the General Manager 'Sue', her life mission is the ruin the good part of your life.

Horrible experience with the automotive department!! I had my battery replaced here 2 years ago and is still under warranty (for another year). My vehicle hasn't been starting, due to battery issues. I called in to see what their warranty covers, only to have Dave, who answered my phone call make me feel like I was bothering him!! He informed me that my Warranty was no good if I didn't have the paper copy (as he was reading me the information from my battery change off he's screen)..so I went and found the paper copy. Then he decided that wasn't good enough, he wanted to run additional tests that would cost me $59' something...and if I didn't want to pay that, then I would need to physically remove the battery and bring it to him on he's desk for him to decide on the warranty!! Every time I deal with the service department it's horrible!! I expressed to him that I only wanted the information on the warranty and nothing else done to my car because of all the other horrible experiences, he's answer to me was "why do you keep calling us then"...if it wasn't because of the warranty that I had PAID for I wouldn't be calling you dave!! All in all I was so mad and ended up waiting for AMA and having them look at my batter. They ended up replacing it! Go pay your hard earned money somewhere else!! Don't waste your time with this department!!

  • Thomas Glover

While out driving I noticed I had a nail in the front right tire. I went to call AMA for a fix but they have discontinued that service. I made an appointment with a local tire shop. Dropped it off at 2pm and they waited until 15 minutes before closing to tell me it couldn't be fixed only replaced. The guy said my treads were at a 4 and were in horrible condition. I took the car home and made an appointment with CDN Tire where I originally bought the set. Kevin said my treads were at an 8 and the tires (except for the one with the nail) were in great shape. The cost of a new tire was going to be 279.99 plus tax. Luckily I bought the tire replacement insurance and the final cost came in around $60. Where ever we go we are bombarded with requests and pleas to purchase warranties and insurance. My general response is no and I can bog you down with reasons why. The tire replacement insurance at CDN tire, though, is one I will heartily endorse and recommend. It has been used a few times over the years, easily and without strings attached. From start to finish I spent over 10 hours to get this tire fixed but that is a story for another day. Kevin was a great help during this adventure. His customer service skills and general demeanor are impressive. CDN Tire is lucky to have him.

A really poor overall experience. I came in first thing in the morning to get a spark plug for my snowblower. I went to the auto department and there was no one in parts so I asked the service person who was on a personal phone call at the time. I waited till he was done and there was no one else in line and asked him if he could help me .He got really nasty with me and said this is service can’t you see all the signs put up all over .He said this isn’t my job and reluctantly came out to help me for a minute.Sadly to say I think he was the service manager. Then I asked a guy to help me get a spark plug socket and he told me over there down aisle 25 .So I went over there had to look around and find somebody else to help me open it .This gentlemen was unpleasant and had absolutely no people skills.I will not be back to this store ,Sherwood park Canadian tire is a million percent better. Customer service phoned me and told me the owner would call me and he never did .I have also had these people damage my vehicle twice and try and get away with it .Also friends of mine have brought their vehicle there and got ripped off badly. The owner and manager there are crooks at best .You would find more honest people in prison !!!!.

If there is an option I would give -5 point to this location for their nasty and unprofessional technician behavior's. They use scare techniques and held us hostage for our car repair it took them a week to change vehicle front tire. They sent us to pick tire from elsewhere and then change two tires for $80. then Few days delay and then my son got a call you have to do this, you have to that and we have to perform this inspection. My wife call few time and their behavior's was obnoxious, unprofessional and she said please speak to my husband so we can understand the repair and expenses better but they close the call and we call back 6 times and they kept putting us on hold for extended period of time. I went to enquire and pick up the car they told me we will not release the car. I insist and then they release the car but made nasty comments and showed totally unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. I will never go back to this location. Kevin and Rob must learn to treat customer with curtsey and respect. They can suggest the repair but cannot held customer hostage. they must not force customer for additional repair. Very disappointed with this location and do not recommend this location to anybody.

"Manager" Travis is a horrible "manager" quoting policy he doesn't really understand, when asked to read said policy there was nothing to be found. Additionally, when we asked for assistance he said he couldn't as he was on till duty. Why would the Store Manager be limited to till duty? There was another employee standing at the till with him? Service is really going south with "Manager" Travis behind the wheel. End of the day, I left the store not spending $492.45 because I wasn't allowed to look at the product? Apparently it was out back and if "Manager" Travis brought it out I was required to make a purchase sight unseen. When I asked if I could take it to my truck, look at it and return it if the quality was poor, he said "well then we would inspect for damages so hard to say if you'd be able to return it" which was essentially a threat saying I could not return the product. It's not the customers fault your store does not display product. It is not the customers fault the employees are too lazy to do any work. Guess I have to go somewhere else? Strange.

All was smoothe. No issues with service or checkouts. It was a calm evening and the workers had settled into their end of day rolls, and so generally left us alone as we wandered. We made sure not to stay past the time, but it's always nice to not be bothered, while also knowing that you can find someone to help if needed. CONS: It could have clearer signage, a better checkout aisle (small narrow and VERY hard with a wheelchair, nevermind power chair!) I understand employees don't know where everything is, but I can tell they're not too well trained on how to handle that. They either drag you around the store, or else point you in a very general direction that you know is BS. This is an issue in all retail, not just here, but I've seen it happen a lot at Canadian tires and I think more understanding of the store itself would help floor workers address issues in a more helpful way.

  • Skylar Dunning

Consistently the worst Canadian Tire in the city. I only use it due to proximity to work and home, but I am often frustrated when I leave. The staff are all mostly helpful and pleasant, it's not their fault. It's common for the inventory count or aisle/location provided on the website to be incorrect, making you wander around asking for help. All the other stores seem to have it figured out. Often understaffed at the checkout line, causing very long lines to pay. On 3 occurrences, I came in with a screw/nail in a tire and was told it would be a 2-3 day wait. They say they are understaffed and would need to bump other customers with service appointments. I get it, but all your competitors will fix a tire while you wait, in about 20 minutes. Figure it out.

Im a Tow Operator. Braught in a Customers Vehicle today. Dropped it off in the lot(As I always have) went in to talk to service to give them my customers info and keys. The Service Manager tried telling me its my job to put it into their shop and told me I had to reload the vehicle and put it in their shop. When I refused to put into their shop as I had already dropped it off, he told me he cant accept it as its not in their shop. After about 5 mins, he finally accepted the keys, then proceeded to call my company to tell them I didnt do my job. My Dispatch let him know that it is not our job to put it into their shop. The Service Manager has a bad attitude and needs to learn his own job before telling others what their jobs are.

I visited for some advice on what fuse I need for my car. Minor question. The young gentleman said people in auto parts department don’t know anything about these things and to book appt with service just to find out “what part I need” I thought that was a funny statement. Him and another older fellow shortly after started making fun of an old lady because she was asking about CDs and said cars don’t come with cd players anymore and nobody uses them. She said she does but they seemed to be more interested in having a good laugh. Not Canadian tires best day for customer service at the capilano location. Visited just after 5 pm on Dec 10th. 1 star isn’t quite low enough. Not my first poor experience with parts unfortunately.

Terrible. First, why attach a Mark’s Work Warehouse and a Canadian Tire to only place metal fencing in the doorway and lock the entrances? I’m not convinced this is to fire code. Secondly, I went here to have my wheels retorqued and they refused to do it, saying they will not longer take the liability. So I am to find someone who is willing or just go to where I had them done initially, in a different city? Come on, ridiculous. How about liability from their refusal to help me with my tires - what if something happens to me in my car due to their refusal? Thought this was a common courtesy all garages offer. Looks like Canadian Tire is no longer part of that group…

  • Darlene Ricard

This store has the worst customers service I have ever had. Transferred to 3 departments that couldn't read or understand English. I asked to see if they sold fly strip and even spelled it out for them. Finally somebody answered the call after I had waited 15 minutes on hold. Finally someone came back to say they did. I asked them what it said on the package and they said fly trips. Lol. I will never shop here. The customer service employee laughed when I told her about my experience spelling out what I was looking for. Horrible. I will never shop there. I'll go to the one at Kingsway. Don't waste your time. I will give 0 for the review.

Canadian Tire has become my favorite place to buy tools and small appliances. These chain stores cater to middle class people who buy everyday quality merchandise. Their reputation in the automotive repair and parts business has gained a lot more respect and their tire inventory has widened considerably. Even the hardware section has grown into something that has far more product. Heck, I purchase my winter parkas and hiking boots there because they are of great quality and are often on sale at very reasonable prices. Best of all, it's a Canadian company. Good for them and good for everybody.

  • Scott Galoce

This Canadian tire is so bad it taints the entire brand for me. It’s organized as badly as a cheap wholesale dollar store and they seem a lot more concerned about theft prevention than actually selling anything. It’s near my shop and I’ve tried to run there a few times for tools or supplies and inevitably whatever I need is locked up. You can then never find an associate to help you and once you do they have to escort you to the front. It’s faster to just drive to Sherwood park in the end and at least I feel like they want my business unlike this store. It seems like a management problem.

  • Ian Dunn

Went get a price on some tires for my Jeep Patriot and there was no one at the parts desk or the service desk. This was unreal. I need the tires yesterday so I’m kind of motivated to buy new tires but where is the staff. So I go to customer service and they say the service advisor is in the back working on a customer’s car. So be a little patient. I said really. Maybe the mechanic should serve the service desk while the service advisor works on the cars. I am sure they will work it out before all the customers leave. Terrible store stay away.

  • Charlie Shields

Had a very disturbing experience here. I was followed around by someone wearing air pods who I can only assume was loss prevention, not sure why I look like someone of interest but whatever. I kept catching him staring at my daughter and it made me extremely uncomfortable. Every time I would look over he was staring at her and he would notice I was looking and then quickly look in another direction. It was an awkward experience and I likely will not return to this location.

  • sahil sharma

Worst experience ever. They don’t even deserve one star. Auto parts department employees have no manners how to treat a customer. Manager Rob was very rude. Booked my tires appointment employee gave me another time on the phone and when I called on my appointment day they said your appointment time was different and you’re late and booked for another day. i still have proof for my previous appointment. But manager was very rude. First and last visit poor customer service.

  • Keegan L

A very sub-optimal store likely due to management. Consistently out of stock of items. When asked the automotive department for a piece of hose to bleed brakes with, they looked at me like I had three eyes. Forced to buy a 10’ section of hose for the brake job. Ended up not needing the hose, when I tried to return it, the cashier at customer service for returns accused me of using the hose then trying to return it. ‍ I avoid this store at every opportunity.

  • Scott Murray

Terrible mechanics, the place has multiple times had a very condescending British guy. Every time we do business with them he winds up complaining about his day or being completely unhelpful. I know that these reviews probably don't do much, but this guy shouldn't be able to communicate with customers like that and keep his job. Also, these passive attempts to fix problems by asking me to call a toll free number are exactly why these problems don't get fixed.

  • Chris Hewson

Stopped in to buy a camping lantern I found online. The website told me which aisle it was in, and I had no problem finding it. The checkout clerk was helpful and we rung up my purchase with 3 gift cards and he informed me if the product was defective it could still be returned (with a receipt) and they'd put the credit on another store gift card, which was good to know! So far, so good.

  • Jordan Peitsch

Agief? Apologies if the spelling is wrong! Was very helpful and understanding when i had to return some products. He took the time to make sure I was taken care of and happy leaving the store ! We need more people in this world like this gentleman. Keep up the great work sir. I would have given 5 stars if he had more support at customer service during the busy late afternoon rush !

  • Karen B

Our 3rd Canadian Tire location in one week. This time we were there to shop in store and we found everything we needed, including access to a public washroom. The last shouldn't be an issue in any large store, but incredibly it is, so thank you Canadian Tire for putting your customers needs ahead of whatever policy is driving the "No Public Bathroom" issue.

  • David M

I was told it would take 2 hours for a tire change. After waiting 2 hours, I was told the mechanic didn't realize he needed to work on my car and it would be another 1.5 hours. No apology was given until I asked directly for one. Horrible customer service. No respect for customers. No recognition that they wasted two hours of my time. I will never return.

  • David Madrid

If I can score a 0, I would. This is the worst Canadian tire for customer service ever. The auto department is a joke being ran by geriatrics who don't know how customer service works. Employee is too busy to help customers. What the hell do you think your job is? If you don't want to help customers, then retire and leave. Noone is stopping you. Get out.

  • Clan MacLean

Not a real auto parts store anymore. At least this Canadian Tire! Got to understand that each can be independently owned so can set own standards for some things like stocking. This Capilano location even closed the service/patrs area entrance so havevto shuffle back and forth the whole store! Not the same at Kingsway or Westend locations.

  • Sandeep Pama

Tried getting help to find car paint touch up , but the associates kept diverting me to various isles and never helped me with the product . I spend good 20 minutes to find by myself and in the end gave up and went to some other store . The store maybe need to train their associates to work better in terms of customer service .

  • Ken Mitchell

The young man who helped me that night in the auto parts department was the best service I have gotten ever from any business in Edmonton to date. Grate job for hiring enthusiastic employees Canadian Tire. Keep it up most of your stores and departments need employees like that young man. New school all the way. Cheers

  • Daljeet Singh

I called and ask if they can do RIV inspection they said yea we do as soon as I said it’s semi truck they said they can’t do semi truck because they don’t have enough parking in parking lot but there parking lot is big it was they just don’t wanna do it don’t go there for riv inspection poor service

  • Kaylee Wilson

I would give it a zero star if I can. Went to get keys cut and the lady didnt ask what we wanted or needed. Needed a spare key for a vehicle to drive. Not just open. Ended up spending money on something that I didnt ask for. they really need to train their workers better on communication.

  • Kristine Sousa

The complete best experience I've ever had at a Canadian Tire. The staff were beyond helpful and friendly to my dog and myself. I generally have good experiences going into a Canadian Tire. But this one was memorable as everyone was engaged to their job and was willing to help.

  • Erwin Schnitzer

Worst customer service ever. Had a staff member say the item I wanted was not that price as Calgary prices are different to Edmonton, and implied I didn't what I was doing. Changed location from Calgary to Capilano location the price was the same. I will never go back there

  • Beau Layman

Most useless Auto Department service I have ever encountered. From a simple question about oil not being answered to an employee turning their back on me to avoid eye contact. A Google search and YouTube are more effective than any of the half wits they have hired here.

  • Matt Meeboer

I give up on this location. Three times in the last month I’ve gone there because it says they have stock, only to find that they don’t. Usually can’t find anyone to help, and if I do, they don’t know why. Go to another Canadian Tire.

  • Kenzy Vojackova Valenzuela

Warning to anyone who is autistic or noise sensitive, the store is currently under construction and is not an ND friendly place at the moment. Lots of beeping and drilling happening. Fidn another store until construction is complete

  • Matthew Walker

Whenever I pick up online orders there's almost always and issue. Usually the wrong item or security tag left on. Lots of items are out of stock even-though it says "in stock" for this store when checking online inventory.

  • Joanne Tekonomy

Went for an oil change and they drained my car battery and didn't put the drain pan plug back in properly causing my car to leak oil. Very disappointed and will not be going back to them for any kind of vehicle servicing.

  • Stuart MacKenzie

Went there at lunch hour to grab a few tools for work. The 2 items I needed were in locked cabinets. Waited for half an hour for someone with a key & finally left. Items will be on my doorstep tomorrow from Amazon

  • Fiona Conlon

Organized and clean, with lots of cashiers working! Only thing lacking was more service people on the floor to help those of us who don't use an app to find which shelf a product is on.

  • dick henderson

WARNING! Don't take your truck here. The service manager is unable to emotionally regulate, incredibly obnoxious and doesn't seem to know what service is all about. 0 stars out of 5.

  • John Paladini

Worst store was Racial Profile a follow around the store an I felt uncomfortable so I left the store as I was leaving I was follow by store employee a Security guard....to my vehicle

  • Cory Schwartz

Thank you to the busy automotive department for doing a quick retorque on the fly. I had an appointment to get to and they had me in and out quickly.

  • farshid heshmati

Never go it’s Auto service. It was awful, they spent more than 1.5 hour just for replacing a oil drain plug which normally needs 5 to 10 minutes

  • Dana Decker

There is nothing to complain about. The staff were helpful and friendly, the store was clean and I found what I needed quickly and easily.

  • Talat

I like this place because you can check your psi tires Free it's amazing! Save more and 5$ for free.
