A very well rounded, well priced (for downtown location pricing standards), central cafe located right by the waters of Coal Harbour and directly across the street from Cardero’s. The perfect location for moms to grab a coffee and delicious snack or breakfast/lunch while waiting to pick their kids up from the Coal Harbour community centre two blocks away which is why I love this place! I enjoy grabbing a coffee and a pastry and sitting by the bench to enjoy the scenic harbour views. The only problem? The lineups are extremely long here and the staff are working extremely hard already but since this is the only cafe in the area, they get super overloaded. Watch out for seasoned line budging here; many of the regulars will step into the front to pretend to look at the case of pastries and when you’re a tourist you are chatting away and the next thing you know they are in front of you. There is a dark haired Caucasian lady that I see every weekend that budges in line in front of chatty tourists that don’t notice her slipping in. She’s always 2+ people ahead of me or else I would speak sternly to her about her terrible behavior. Anyway, there is free wifi here and I love the outdoor patio seats. Even if you don’t get to sit outside, you can sit anywhere along the Sea Wall as there are benches. The bathrooms are large and spacious and wheelchair accessible; the women’s bathroom has a baby changing table too, which is amazing! There is also ample indoor seating and a table for you to add your milk and cream (did not see soy or other milk alternatives on the table but I think you can order it); both white and brown sugar were available as well. Recently I ordered a jumbo iced coffee and it was only $3, while the almond croissant was $5 and very tasty. I can’t tell if they bake in house or if they get their pastries/desserts externally directly from bakers at Doe Cafe (my favourite almond croissant place!), but the almond croissant here was flaky but not super soft on the inside. Still excellent and very enjoyable though.

Cafe Villaggio near downtown Vancouver is a hidden gem worth discovering. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by the enticing aroma of freshly baked pastries. Their delectable selection of pastries is nothing short of heavenly, with flaky croissants, melt-in-your-mouth muffins, and indulgent cakes. Pair these treats with their expertly brewed coffee drinks, and you're in for a delightful experience. But what truly sets this cafe apart is its breathtaking view of the Vancouver harbor from the patio. Sipping your coffee while taking in the picturesque scenery is pure bliss. Moreover, the prices are surprisingly reasonable, offering excellent value for the quality and ambiance. Whether you're a local or a visitor, Cafe Villaggio is a must-visit destination for pastry lovers seeking a memorable experience.

It’s… ok… just good location… close to the seawall, the Westinn and Cardero’s. Their selection isn’t anything to really rave about. Nothing that unique or distinctive about them that sets them apart from any other boring cafe. They’re lucky to have that leased location… though if their lease rates go up… I have a feeling they will go out of business. Their coffee was bland, their specialty drink was made without any form of passion or excitement - their food selections are simply stock piled behind glass shelves that, one can guess, has been sitting there for a long time; so their bread to their sandwiches aren’t even fresh… they’re crunchy. My suggestion: This location has so much potential. Perhaps take a page from Cobbs (the baker) or even partner with them to provide the freshest of sandwiches for your location and reinvest into newer coffee machines. Just my opinion - take it or leave it.

Coffee is decent and some pastries are excellent. The croissants are flaky on the outside and soft on the inside. Location is across the street from the harbour so you get views of the boats and mountains. There is ample seating, though the ambient music is quite loud. Free wifi is appreciated. Despite all the good qualities, the staff are not among them. They can be quite noisy and can be too preoccupied with talking to each other. Their boisterous laughter can overshadow the volume of all the patrons inside. Also, the way treat patrons leave a lot to be desired--particularly female ones. Some of the girls are blatantly obvious in being "too friendly" with male customers that it's embarrassing. Also, it's better they spend that time talking too much and put that into cleaning the tables and restroom--it can get filthy at times, even when it's not too busy. And I am one of those customers who actually clean up after myself.

The location is excellent, right in front of the water, but the interior design lacks uniqueness, just very ordinary at best and not well decorated. Additionally, the tables and chairs are quite standard so if you’re looking for somewhere Instagrammable, this place is not it. Initially, we came in for dine-in, but the tables weren't well-maintained, and there were food scraps left behind while employees chatted at the cashier windows. We ordered a tiramisu swiss roll because it looked amazing, and it did not disappoint. The service was at best just okay, lacking smiles, and nothing particularly exceptional. I would consider returning for takeout orders, but the interior and the service aren’t very appealing, so I wouldn't choose to stay in.

This place made the worst Ruben sandwich I've ever had. Ruben, properly made, is one of my favorites. When I'm paying over $10. For a sandwich (12 + change after taxes) my expectations are high, either great amount or great quality. This was neither. I've had better at the Safeway deli counter fit less. It was so bad it's hard to know where to start. The meat should be shaved not the horrendously thick slices they used. The cheese should be Swiss. I think they used processed slices. The stuff that barely qualifies as cheese. They used to much mayo and whatever they used was horrid. I prefer mustard as a condiment but it wouldn't have been so bad if there hadn't been so much of it. The sauerkraut was virtually non-existant. By comparison I think there was more mayo then sauerkraut. In a perfect world the bread would be rye. I mean for the price I would have expected rye. This was such a disappointment.

  • Stella B

I've enjoyed coming here over the years. Their Chai lattes are wonderful, a good blend of flavor. Their cookies are always so moist and fresh, too bad they close so early, I always want to stop by in the evening! The only issue is the tables and chairs are usually disorganized and I haven't seen them clean the tables during the day. When I sit there, they are usually dirty. So it could be better maintained. Also their servers seem to be inconsistent with how they serve. One time I got a little kettle with hot water for tea, the next time I had to ask, and the servers didn't seem to understand what I meant (could have been an English issue).

Nice cafe resting stop from walks along the water, in Coal Harbour, near the Waterfront Bayshore Hotel / across the street from Cardero’s A wide variety of desserts and coffee styles offered. It was the perfect pit stop for a friend and I taking a quick break during a rainy day walk. The cookies are massive & I must say the best one of the lot is their hazelnut chocolate chip cookie (which also has some caramel inside)! A truly decadent cookie that is totally worth the calories! I only also their ginger and peanut oatmeal cookies which were good but not as unique as the hazelnut chocolate chip caramel cookie!! I’ll be coming back specifically for THOSE!! I took a pic of the desserts showcase, as the cookies are in jars above the window shelves. Find me on Instagram @aida.loves

  • Christina L

Great location and variety of pastries, but food and drinks are average. I've been here many times. Today I got a plain Swiss roll, and it was mostly frozen. I told the staff, and she said yeah it's frozen. It's because they "freeze it overnight then cut it". It's mind boggling for me because if I'm eating it there, should it not be fully thawed before they serve it to the customer? They did not seem apologetic at all, so I ended up getting a to-go box to take it home. Also, we had breakfast here once, with eggs bacon toast. Don't do it! It's microwaved bacon as they don't actually have a full kitchen in the back. It tasted like airplane food.

The biggest advantage of this place is its location on the water front overlooking marina with some amazing views. There are few outdoor seats to enjoy nice weather on sunny day. Not too many food options, mainly pastries and cabinet cakes, nothing vegetarian or vegan. Coffee is decent, but they don’t know what flat white is. Service is Asian crew with typical don’t bother me and no smile attitude. Tables were dirty and not cleaned and at lunch time there was nothing left to eat anymore.

I want to share today's experience in this cafe. I usually go here several times a week. I like this place and like out desserts. I took tea and dessert Tiramisu roll. Having tried the roll, I realized that the cream is not fresh and has an unpleasant aftertaste. I asked the shift manager to give me another dessert, as this one was stale with an unpleasant aftertaste (the dessert cost $7). I was told that this was my personal opinion, that all other people liked this dessert and that they could not help me. A question for business: are you not ashamed to save a penny and lose a client for a couple of dollars? I won't visit you again!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! The ladies who work in the front are unfriendly and rude!! When u walk in the door they dont greet you or even smile. They take your orders without even making an eye contact and when your food is ready they just leave it on the countertop without even letting you know its ready!!Ive had a bad experience two times here now and have heard other customers complain as well!! I wont be going back as there are plenty of other coffe shops with more welcoming staff. If your looking for a cute neighborhood coffe shop with all around great experience do not go here!!

  • T K (TKCerbs)

This is our staff "go-to" for coffee in the morning, it's a cute little coffee shop with lots of seating overlooking the harbour. My only challenge is the price for everything is high, and the staff service is non-existent. They wouldn't recognize a regular if their life depended on it. It's all walkup service so I guess that makes sense. Still, nice spot for a coffee and a pastry in the morning!

Order the cinnamon bun!!! It's kind of a hybrid croissant cinnamon bun. Ask them to warm it up, and make sure to arrive before 11 am as they sell out fairly quickly. The Coal Harbour Quay is one of Vancouvers gems, and Cafe Villaggio is perfectly situated with views of the boats in the Coal Harbour marina. Highly recommend the breakfast wrap as well as their pastries. I live nearby, however, I know people that drive here on the weekends from across the city for a coffee with a great ambiance.

My mom and I are a huge fan of the almond croissants here as they are loaded with almonds and baked to perfection. Normally they don’t put holds on food items as they are quite busy, but the staff made an exception for us. Very grateful for the staff going above and beyond to save 4 almond croissants for us! My whole family was overjoyed by the kind gesture, made the experience exceed our expectations. Thank you Villagio Cafe!

This cafe is very consistent with great coffee, fresh-baked goods, and open-close times. I love to pop by here at 7am for a fresh brewed cuppa. The aromas of baking croissants and muffins are mouthwatering first thing in the morning. The baked goods, excellent. The coffees, all made to order and always perfect. Ease of getting in, out, excellent. The girls are so friendly and they will remember you and your orders forever. I notice every customer feels the love when they visit. It is my most fave neighbourhood cafe!

  • Orcamania5

Great cafe to visit to have a nice chat over coffee and dessert. Staff are friendly and courteous. Can seat, chat or study without worrying about time. Free Wi-Fi as well. Delicious croissant and coffee. One minus is that staff do not check patio well. Had a table behind us who half finished their food and as a result of not cleaning on time, had pigeons, crows, and seagulls eyeing and fighting for leftover food. Otherwise, overall great.

Tried the croissant, chocolate croissant, lemon loaf, cinammon bun and BLT and really enjoyed them all. Love their dark roast coffee as well. The almond croissant is a little too sweet for my taste. For some reason they tend to be out of a lot of the pastries by the afternoon so the earlier the better for selection.

Fresh coffees in the morng feels great. Good customer service and friendly staff. I liked the coffee. It’s good but not satisfied with the chocolate eruption cake. I feel like it’s over salted caramel couldn’t feel much like eating a pure chocolate cake and even in the middle the white cream tastes salty. Couldn’t complete it. Except that other snacks are tasty and coffee was great. Hope you check the cake once. Takecare :)

Couple of friends and I went to this place at around 5pm on October 13. The person behind the counter named Jin was very rude. She rolled her eyes in front of us while my friend was undecided to add more pastries to her current order. After she placed my friend’s order, she just went to the back kitchen without saying anything knowing I still have to order and left me at the counter and waited there standing for 3 minutes.

We were at the marina nearby and grabbed lunch here. It's a popular place for a good reason. Food was great. We split a smoked turkey sandwich, toasted on cranberry bread, and a bowl of soup. Both were excellent. Definitely recommend this place.

I love this place so much that I travel from New Westminster specifically to visit this place. The reason is DESSERTS! If you are tired of traditional pastries, and want more desserts in cake-style, this is the right place for you. Just have a lookon photos. And, yes, they are yummy. Lattes are high quality as well. The place is close to the embarkment, but there is no view from the cafe.

I will never come back to this place. My perfect Saturday morning was absolutely ruined after getting a cup of coffee from this place. The cashier (lady wearing glasses) was absolutely rude. She wasn’t eye contacting nor answering kindly to customers. She seems annoyed when customers ask questions when ordering. I’ll never come back to this one. Very disappointed. Shame on you.

Cute little Cafe. Beautiful view of Cole Harbour and the North Shore mountains. Has a little patio area out front if you want to sit outside and enjoy the views. I only had coffee there (which was really good), but didn't have anything to eat, so I can't comment too much about the food.

Cool place and very convenient if your walking along the harbor. The coffee is mediocre at best but the desserts in the cooler looked amazing. My wife and I had the sausage rolls and they were good, presentation was good. The staff was friendly and gave me the option to switch my roast of coffee when they realized that the one I wanted wasn't done brewing yet.

Our experience was not great at all. Unfriendly staff - cafe was not busy but cashier was pushing on giving the order fast. Hot beverage- we ordered cappuccino and chai latte. Cappuccino was okay but chai latte was cold, no kidding it was not even Luke warm. Food- I ordered Croissant and blueberry scone, which was great. Giving 2 stars are the food only.

  • Dana Sullivan

Very cozy cafe with wide variety of desserts and lunch options. There's lots of families coming through and conversation happening, so it's not the place to come and work, but it's a great environment for catching up with a friend or relaxing by yourself. Food, dessert, and drinks are all delicious, and at a great price for the size and quality.

  • Louis Kohanyi

We came here for a little snack. My daughters had the Lemon tart and the Mama. They said that it was really good. I had the vanilla flan and the café mocha. It was good as well. We ate at the patio outside after biking around Stanley park. It was a nice atmosphere. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I find it a little expensive.

Went in with the family for a coffee and snack during our walk. Most of the tables had dirty dishes on them, it was not pleasant. Coffee is undrinkable, very bitter. I also noticed as they were making my latte that the milk containers don’t get rinsed between orders. Very overpriced for the quality you get.

Can not beat this place for views, matcha lattes, & working space. I really love visiting Villagio in the mornings coming in from my walk on the seawall. This space is great for getting some work done - the views are super stimulating & the cafe is pretty quiet with lots of seating options. Very grateful for this coffee shop :)

  • weibetter

It's a great place to work... unlimited seating time, Wi-Fi, power outlets, some bakery and light meals, and it's right by the water if you want to go take a walk. BUT the latte was a personal fail for me. The foam was not creamy and smooth at all ( isn't that what lattes all about?) 1 for the effort to do the latte art...

They had plenty of hand sanitizer, and spaced out tables to sit at. They have a decent selection of beverages and snacks. The cinnamon bun was a little to hard, and seemed to be made in a laminated croissant dough rather than a regular cinnamon roll dough. The croissant was standard, which I enjoyed.

The butter and almond croissants are so amazing!! Try the cookies as well... Perfect with a cup of coffee. Staff is friendly and place is always a good spot to go enjoy some dessert in Coal Harbour. Some of the cakes are a bit hard though, as they're served straight from the chilled display fridge.

Expensive and the coffee is very average. Paying for the location and outside seating with view in summer. Pastries were nice but scones and muffins were very dry

Nice latte, nice selection of desserts. The citrus cheesecake has lots of texture and not too sweet. Liked it, but the Cafe was so busy, customer service wasn't great, and not many clean tables for people to use.

Great variety of food, the few drinks that we’ve had have been average in taste. The shop has a great location with a beautiful view!

My favourite cafe in Vancouver for chilling out. Coffee is excellent and food choices are great. The ladies who work behind the counter are fantastic also.

Been a regular, and I am always amazed by their delicious selection. They have an Incredible selection of food, all in-house, freshly made! Extremely friendly and awesome staff! Love this Cafe! ❤️

Great location and fairly quick service on a busy Saturday morning. The food quality (eggs & bacon and smoked salmon bagel) and cleanliness was (ants on the milk and sugar counter) underwhelming.

  • Zacharias

Quaint little cafe with good food. Had the salmon bagel which was a generous serving.

The location is great, the coffee is ok but whenever I order a pastry good, cake, or cheesecake here, it does not feel freshly made.

Wow wow wow, I just tried the pistachio mocha because it sounded fun and it is delightful! This coffee shop was my refugee from the cold on a long (frozen) walk to Stanley Park.

  • Katrina Stanco

Their pastries at tasty! especially their scones. Also, I would recommend their breakfast wrap. Price isn't too bad for the quality. Friendly staff and fairly fast service.

I felt nasty and bad smell. The coffee was lower than medium. There wasn't any services.

Friendly staff, good cheesecake - coffee okay. Just feels a bit dirty. Wiped down the toddler seat and it obviously hasn't been cleaned in a very long time.

RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Unfriendly and very unbecoming. I walked right out based on their poor attitudes. Do better!

Good food and service. It was lovely to see the staff smiling, laughing, joking amongst themselves, and super friendly even though the place was packed.

Really good place, food and drinks are nice. The matcha latte is bit too sweet for me but great flavour. Great coffee. Their cheescake is amazing!
