One of my favourite places to visit! If you’ve never been here before you’re missing out! As soon as you walk in you’re greeted with a cozy like European feel. The restaurant is usually very busy. Even with a reservation you may have to wait a few minutes, but the wait is well worth it! We were greeted quickly and waited a few minutes while our server prepared our table. We sat down and reviewed the menu. While we waited we ordered a couple danish beers. Our waitress was very kind, attentive and knowledgeable. I ordered the Pork Schnitzel while my coworker ordered the Chicken Schnitzel. We both ordered the cabbage as our choice of side. While waiting for our dinners the waitress brought us a basket of their delicious homemade bread. Our dinners arrived fairly quick. Everything on the plate was still very hot! You can tell that the food comes out as soon as it’s cooked. I actually had to wait to try the cabbage as it was still steaming. We started off by tasting each schnitzel! Both the chicken and the pork have a crispy breading on outside while the inside was very tender and juicy! We couldn’t decide which we liked better. They were both great! The potatoes and sweet and sour cabbage had great flavour and accompanied the schnitzel perfectly. After our meals, our waitress recommended their homemade desserts. We decided to share an eclair.. and WOW I am glad we did. It was one of the best desserts I have had. Overall it was a great experience! You will not leave hungry, and the prices are very reasonable!

Didn't expect bread & butter serving before the main so really enjoyed it. Tried the soup borscht but was quite salty to my taste. Read many perfect reviews about the schnitzels and as the server recommended, I ordered chicken. Great portion and a nice touch of a few fruit slices on the plate. Was wondering though what's signature about the potato salad... a bit odd to me to have cold potato cubes with the supposedly hot meal. Wished it was a (or had an option of) warm mashed potatoe instead and thought their potato salad would fit better for making sandwiches. The meat was not too dry but after a few bites alone we were longing for some kind of gravy to go with it. There was only one staff bussing the whole floor and we failed several times to get the server's attention. By the time I asked & got a suggested sauce (honey mustard tartar?) and a side dish to help us finish the meal, it was rather too late and we had to pack up most of that side dish (diced pickled beets, served in a large amount only). I also ran out of hot water for my tea and asked for it but the lone server was too busy to make that happen Maybe next time will try some other menu that comes with warm sauce or ask for the fried cabbage not picked beets as a side dish;)

An underwhelming experience overall. The chicken schnitzel with O'Brien potatoes and sweet and sour cabbage was definitely the highlight. All the flavors were excellent and the portions were generous. Very crisp and tasty schnitzel. On the other hand, the paprika chicken was disappointing. The portion size was generous again; however, the flavours were nothing special and the dish was overpriced in our opinion. The server was curt throughout the meal and we felt like we were inconveniencing them. Not friendly and made no attempt at making it a personal experience. Besides this, it is a cozy little restaurant for a winter evening. The food also arrived quickly and drinks were refilled as needed. I wouldn't call it a terrible experience by any means but I doubt we will be back. We have wanted to try Bistro Dansk for a few years after hearing many recommendations but our experience fell flat. 3 out of 5 stars.

Three adult visit for a lunch! 2023 Nov A cozy European style deco and serves danish dishes. Excellent service. We ordered Borscht, Pork Schnitzel and Danish meatball with a mushroom gravy. A complimentary small basket of dinner roll and sliced baguette served. The schnitzel and the meatball were tasty but a little harder than expected (slightly different than a crisp/crunch : soft meat inside but the batter was hard does that make sense?) Overall enjoyable experience and a nice local place to visit. A decent price for the generous portion.

Truly a great evening. Our experience started with very welcoming staff and we enjoyed a fantastic, delicious dinner. Two at our table opted to try the pork schnitzel and two tried the chicken schnitzel and with tastes shared back and forth at the table, we quickly determined there are no bad choices. Everything, including the sides, were meticulously prepared. While very full from dinner (and taking leftovers home), the desserts sounded terrific and we succumbed to temptation. It was totally worth it! All 4 of us enjoyed every aspect of our dinner and had a great time interacting with our waitress Carley. If this family owned and run restaurant is not on your radar, it should be. Great food, fun staff and decades of satisfied patrons guarantee you will be happy with your choice to dine here. I have eaten here a number of times and never had a bad experience. Already looking forward to our next dinner there.

Chicken Schnitzel was amazing. Small hole in the wall restaurant with knowledgeable staff and great food. Potatoes Obrien and cabbage were also amazing as well as the soup. Fresh wonderful bread served to all patrons as well serves as a great appetizer or is the perfect vessel for mopping off every last drop of soup in the bowl because you are going to want to finish it. Forget finishing the plate because the servings are fully represented and fair for the price. Wish I had room to try dessert. The only one thing is that out of place is that they have a focus somewhat on the fact that some food network show featured them at one point. It is pointed out in the menu as well as by a sign on the wall that the server directly referenced. I would like them to have an identity outside of of a food network show being filmed there and they should because the food holds up. I will definitely be back to try other dishes!

I went here on a date a few weeks ago. The decor and ambiance is incredible! I really liked the homey feel of the restaurant. The staff were super friendly and personable. You can really tell the food is home style with good simple ingredients. For this reason, some dishes might take longer to come out (which they give proper notice of and is expected when items are prepared for you and not in mass). The chicken soup was pretty delicious and I liked the walnut stuffing in the chicken. I thought the schnitzel was impressively crispy and the sour kraut was good. The desserts are interesting, for example the hazel nut pie is made with a lot of actual hazel nuts as opposed to Nutella or extract (is what it seemed like). Flavor-wise, it tasted like my mom was in the kitchen, which is good, but flavors I can accomplish at home. Overall I'm glad we tried it!

We have been patrons of Bistro Dansk for over 40 years since the current owner/chef’s parents first greeted us. The food and service has always been good. We had an unfortunate experience this Thursday when we stopped by for lunch. As seniors our appetites are smaller. We attempted to order a small soup and a chicken schnitzel (to share). We were advised by the server that the house rules did not allow her to serve a shared dinner. Confused, we chose to reorder two soups (large soups as she advised small soups were not served with bread). We understand that times have been tough especially for small businesses, but, are confused why long term patrons requests to share a meal could not be accommodated. We will take that 40 plus years of patronage elsewhere. Deb Dyck and Chris Leskiw

I am actually really disappointed. My boyfriend has been talking about eating at Bistro Dansk for months, so we made a reservation for his birthday for 6pm. We were told that we could show up for 530 or 6, "any time around there." SO we showed up at 6:04, and were told by a brunette waitress, who raised her voice at us so the entire restaurant could here, in a condescending tone, that we were on the books for 530, and since we were late, we'd have to wait. So we went outside to wait. As we were waiting, three more people went inside and didn't come back out, presumably to have gotten a table before us. I don't normally like to do reviews, but my boyfriend was fairly upset by this and it left such a bad taste in my mouth. I don't believe we'll be going back.

Always have recommended this place since discovering it years ago. Get the classic pork schnitzel, you can’t go wrong with it. Pro tip: get the sweet and sour cabbage instead of the mixed vegetables because it lifts the taste of the schnitzel. I love my mixed vegetables and usually pick it when I eat out because I don’t get enough vegetables, but this is not the time for it lol. The schnitzel is delicious but needs the sweet and sour cabbage to clear your palette of the heaviness of the food, so that when you take another bite of this delight, it’s like a brand new bite again. Also, 1 plate is a great portion for two. I always end up taking home 1 whole schnitzel (it comes with two) and have seconds at home!

Horrible! From service to food. The woman who, I believe, co-owns this places is the rudest person I've ever met. She was snippy and dismissive to my elderly grandmother. She would not allow me to park my handicap vehicle in their parking lot, as it's for "staff only", although there was no staff coming or going at the time. She was going out of her way to be rude, when we were nothing but friendly paying customers. My food was just a pile of dried out lunch meat on an equally dried out piece of bread. Sure, there was enough to feed an army on my plate, but it was boring and hardly edible. My grandmothers chicken wasn't much better. All I remember about it was the grease. Definitely the worst restaurant I've been to in a long time.

  • Carol Pagtalunan

I missed your food so much and was excited to know that you were open for pick up! I ordered my usual dish that I always get when I dine in...the pork schnitzel with the sweet and sour cabbage. It is always cooked to perfection and not greasy! Even with a pick up order and driving 20 mins to get home, the food was still warm and the crust on the schnitzel was still crunchy. It didn't get soggy at all! The sweet and sour cabbage is just divine, you really wouldn't know it's cabbage (if you are one who doesn't like cabbage). It is cooked perfectly...not too soft and not too crunchy, cooked in a nicely balanced not to thick and not to thin sweet and sour sauce mixed with bacon. Great service and great food!

  • Jesse Goertzen

The best restaurant in Winnipeg hands down, if you have never tried the sweet and sour cabbage, O'Brien potatoes and heavenly, perfectly cooked schnitzel...then head down and see what you are missing. What ever the order its always cooked perfect with portions that could feed an army. I used to travel over 30 minutes just to get my favorite meal and once they found out how far I would travel, they would even send me warms buns to eat on the ride home. Great atmosphere, wonderful food and the people that make you feel like family every time you come in keep me coming back every time wanting more! Cheers to all the people who make bistro dansk my number one choice whenever I eat out!

Food was outstanding. So delicious. Carley our waitress very polite and made our visit pleasurable. The lemon souffle was a piece of heaven. So light and a good kick of lemon. The chicken snitzel was juicy and so crispy. The sangria was also very tasty. All in all it was an enjoyable, filling, and worthwhile dining experience. Brought a chocolate eclair home to have later and it keeps calling my name. Looks absolutely divine. I even have a snitzel left over as their portions are plentiful. Will be back. Their borscht and homemade bread and rolls are a definite get.Thank you Bistro Dansk. See you again...

Absolutely yes Hype is real - get the pork schnitzel! They were kind enough to allow us to dine in for lunch at 1:30p even though they closed between 2-5p. Crispiest schnitzel I’ve ever had, and the cabbage on the side is so tasty. Lunch plate is an excellent portion size - you get two schnitzels! (Lunch is also better priced than dinner) I can see during busy services having one server might increase your wait time, but staff is extremely kind and humble, and I love that it’s a family business. Charming restaurant (it’s not very big) and was featured on “You Gotta Eat Here!”.

Let me me start off by saying an exceptional performance of their service. Their server of 20 years knows the drill. Welcoming, prompt, refilling water, topping up wine glasses, displaying all the rules of serving, well done, very very hard to find that in Winnipeg these days. The food was a hit as well. We enjoyed most of it. As a fan of fried cabbage I was happy to see this served, my only wish (just personal opinion) I wish it was just sour instead of sweet & sour but again, personal preference being stated here. Food was served hot and it was delicious. Portions are very large and that includes their appetizers as well. We will certainly be back!

  • Jeeho Lim

Service was slow/bad, there was a 2-inch long piece of string/thread embedded in the bread, and a piece of lint stuck on the butter. Their response was making a joke with a half-assed apology. Food took about 50 minutes to come out. Food itself was alright. Chicken schnitzel and the pickled beets stood out, everything else was mediocre. Being fed up with waiting, I went up to the counter and asked if I can pay or my meal, and the server/owner didn't even apologize or say anything at all other than the "here you go" when handing me the machine. The portions are quite big though, and the food is reasonably priced. The service explains it though.

Fantastic food, generous portions, and outstanding lockdown take-out service. We called in our order and they had it ready exactly at the time they promised. Pick up was very quick and very easy -- they have this so well-coordinated so that our food was still hot and perfect when we got home. The food was delicious (crispy schnitzel, flavorful veggies that are cooked from fresh and not frozen) and the portions so generous that two dinner entrees fed us two evenings in a row. We look forward to coming to the dining room when that's possible again, but we hope that folks know that take out from here is just as good!

  • Alex Pettit

The Bistro Dansk is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy deliciously prepared comfort food in a cozy room! The mushroom-filled crepes are my personal favourite, though most of the rest of my family goes for the schnitzel and sweet and sour cabbage. The first meal I remember eating here many years ago was the special of the day which was turkey breast with walnut apricot stuffing. The latter remains on the menu though it is now stuffing in a chicken! The portions are huge- so pace yourself! The service is very friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Don’t hesitate to drop in!

This place was extraordinary. Being from Las Vegas and traveling a lot, this place, by far, has some of the best qualities we have seen. The food was superb. Such a cute, quaint place. The bread, oh my! Portion size, wow! The service and attention to detail, great. The husband and wife who have served this wonderful food for over 35 years have definitely perfected the art of serving the most delicious dishes! Thank you for allowing us to taste your magnificent creations!

A Wednesday lunchtime meal. Quiet place, but I don't know why!! My meal was top shelf! The chicken schnitzel was beautiful and huge! Breading was wonderful. The pre-lunch home made roll was out of this world. I think it weighed a quarter pound without butter. It was warm, chewy, crusty and absolutely perfect. I checked with the dude next to me and it sounds like the chicken borscht is amazing too.

Arrived for what was supposed to be a lovely dinner for my 30th birthday party and made reservations for 5 guests including myself yesterday for 6pm. Upon arrival, shortly discovered they had booked us for 5:30pm and have already given the table away. We have been asked to wait outside while another table was given to a group that just walked in. I was looking forward to tasting the food again as I had only been here previously as a teen. Extremely disappointed with the service and will not return again.

I was for six weeks in Winnipeg and it was very difficult to find a restaurant that is operated by a family and not these boring franchise restaurants where the food taste every time the same. So if you want to eat authentic food from middle europe, very good price performance ratio (we were always anything but hungry after the meal ) and with a very friendly and helpful waitress then go there. Thank you for everything.

Excellent schnitzel! We had one plate of pork schnitzel and one plate of chicken schnitzel. The o’brine potatoes were delicious! The bread basket was fantastic but could have used a bit more butter. The service was shockingly fast! The only thing I didn’t care for was the hazelnut pie, I felt like it was missing something like a gooey filling. The eclair was very good. We will definitely be back! Tip: bathrooms are in the basement.

Food was very good as always but service was very slow and very rude. We waited an hour to get our dinner. Other tables got their food before us and we were there 10 and 20 minutes before they sat down. I asked the waitress to do something to make "it right". I was thinking maybe an free dessert and some explanation But what I got was an very rude comments from the waitress that went on and on. She would not let me finish a single sentence without interrupting and arguing with me. It was like dealing with a rude child. So sad!!!!

Homey atmosphere serving comfort food. Schnitzel was perfectly done. The chicken livers are amazing, if not the best in the city. Very large, healthy portion. Soups are fantastic as well. Always a good meal here. Large portions, delicious food. We shared chicken schnitzel and a large house salad. The salad comes with house dressing which is delicious. On previous reviews it states there is only one server. She kept up with seating, serving, taking orders on the telephone, packing up food for a never ending line of take out. She was pleasant and demonstrated great patience with a large group that were very demanding. If you have never been here, you won’t regret it. Reservations would be advised as well.

What a great, quaint little restaurant that pumps out huge portions with tons of flavour. Even though the bread should "just" be a side it's noteworthy as it's made fresh in house. The chicken schnitzel is incredible & the lunch &/or dinner portions are huge. Served with some fresh fruit & some of the best potato salad you'll ever have, especially if you're a pickle fan. They've were featured on "You Gotta Eat Here!" for a reason when they filmed in Winnipeg.

Dinner at Bistro Danske was fantastic. I had the chicken schnitzel with a side of their potatoes and a cabbage side. The chicken was piping hot, and tender. Both sides were a nice compliment to the meal. The serving was large so I was able to bring some home. We also tried the lemon parfait for desert. Very light and finished off the meal perfectly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would suggest reservations be made. I forget to mention their home made bread/ buns. They were wonderful.

this is the kind of restaurants that make a city alive. apparently a family-run restaurant that serves extremely authentic food with very fair price and good portion. real food is served here. during my two-and-a-half-day visit, I came here twice, once for chicken schnitzel, the other time for pork schnitzel. both times i also had a borscht. I have been to many places and it's a pleasant surprise that traditional food with such quality can still be found in a city like Winnipeg.

Unfriendly service. I went to get a take out order and asked for cutlery, which is a simple request. The lady working the front got annoyed and said I should have mentioned this on the phone when ordering. She did not say thank you after I paid or got my food. If she was having a bad day- she should not have taken it out on customers, especially health care workers.

Omg. I forgot to take a pic of everything cuz I was so hungry. What you see left here is less than half of the chicken schnitzel you normally receive, potatoe obrien and a full, happy belly (you don't need to see that). Cabbage was AMAZING, and it you're not into cabbage, try it as I guaranty you'll love it as it's sweet and has bacon and something you gotta experience. Thanks guys for being avail for take out with the pandemic and stay safe.

Food is good, the sweet and sour cabbage is a favourite. Portions are huge though, we've always taken home leftovers, and their to go containers are Styrofoam (we bring our own containers now, you should too). Despite the portions, which are usually too much for one person, they discourage sharing entrees (it's written right in the menu). I'd rather they didn't tell me how to order.

I too tried to share an entree but was refused. The owners are not very business savvy, especially after reading Deb Dyck's review. According to my math a small soup and a chicken schnitzel is $24.45 before taxes, while 2 large soups is $17.00 before taxes. They lost $7.45, but more importantly the loyalty of 40 plus years clients and now have bad publicity.

This family owned restaurant makes you feel like you are having dinner in their home. The best schnitzel in the city. Great borscht, great cabbage and a very good potato salad. Huge portions at a reasonable price. When it comes to decor, wine selection, atmosphere this is not a 5 star restaurant, but the large, delicious dishes in this humble family place will put a 5 star smile on your face. It's a one of a kind in Winnipeg.

Great service and the chef is legit. Try any special and be prepared to leave room for decadent desserts, hand crafted. Large portions, fresh veggies. Had the chicken schnitzel, perfectly crunchy outside and miraculously ungreasy! Potato salad was perfectly dressed, no obscene mayo here! Easily one of the top reataurants in Winnipeg-not sure what took me so long to try this place. Unassuming decor, fairly quiet eatery.

I've been coming to this restaurant with family and friends my entire life. Everything on the menu is great! Don't sleep on the daily soups - some of the best homemade fresh soup you can find. We discovered Bistro Dansk about 7 years ago, when we were looking for good schnitzel! Well, we found it! When we could dine in we were treated very nicely, food was always perfectly cooked. Take out is the same quality, the nice folk have it all arranged in a box for ready pick up. COVID has not stopped us, can’t remember how many “take out Wednesday “we’ve ordered from them. (Will be ordering schnitzel tonight!!)

  • William Tong Li

Bistro Dansk is the definition of a mom and pop restaurant done right. A limited menu that caters to the strengths of the chefs and lives up to a clearly defined theme for the restaurant make this one of the best recreations of Eastern European fare in Winnipeg. An easy recommendation for anyone in the area. Just make sure to ask for a take out container as the huge portions can easily feed you for two meals!

  • 13 77

The Chicken schnitzel was incredible! The potato salad was the best I've ever had in a restaurant! Extremely tasty without being overly creamy and heavy. I could not stop eating it. Portions are very large so no need to worry about the next days dinner Haha. Service was friendly and prompt. Large selection of beers . Great place overall! There is only street parking available so that can be a bit tricky!

  • Helen Lee

My family and I had a very bad experience at Bistro Dansk. First of all the boss lady was very pushy and abrupt. The food is overpriced and not of high quality. The Silde Herring Plate was hardly edible as the herring was not very fresh and tasted extremely "fishy". My son had the roast beef sandwich and needless to say the roast beef was old and very dry. We will definitely not be returning to Bistro Dansk.

  • Burugudoy Budoyski

Bistro Dansk is a cozy little place with fantastic food and wonderful staff. They have generous portions and they will happily pack what you are unable to finish. Bread is baked fresj everyday and served before the meal. Everyrhing is made fresh amd from scratch. Decent wine and alcohol selection. I highly recommend Bistro Dansk, a charming place with a wonderful atmosphere that'll make you feel at home.

Such a fantastic little place! Prices seem high but are reasonable given that everything is made from scratch and the portions are massive. Our waitress was super kind and even put my leftovers in the fridge so it stayed extra fresh while we finished our meals. The food is absolutely delicious, as well as the desserts. It’s a great little family run place and I will definitely be back!

We had 4 people for dinner, the young lady server brought us a tray with 3 slices of bread, we had to ask for butter and when she brought the butter, there were only 3 pads of butter. We needed to ask for more bread & butter. We needed to ask for water The server was not very friendly at all. We have been there many times before, but I'm not so sure when we will ever go back

Bistro Dansk made me feel like I was in Europe again. I had the Dansk Schnitzel which was cooked to perfection, the flavors were amazing. My husband had the Filet Mignon and enjoyed it just as much. The portions are out of the world with incomparable value for money. The owners are very good people. We were so happy to celebrate our covid anniversary with their take out!!

Restaurant not in my area of town, but a friend who lives nearby took me there for lunch on Sept 18/14. I was very impressed. I don't like Borscht, but sampled from my friend's bowl and I liked it so much that I bought an order to take home. The whole lunch experience was very nice and reasonably priced. Hoping to try out the dinner menu as it looks delish !!

Bistro Dansk is a singularly unique Danish restaurant offering a varied menu and excellent service. For me, almost any of the main courses are recommended and the lunch time specials are well worth a look too! The restaurant is small, but usually well attended for lunch, so go early, otherwise you will definitely miss out on a one of a kind lunchtime treat.

  • Jeremy Grisim

The food is great, the staff are personable and obviously love the restaurant. The atmosphere is very classic Czech and feels European. The menu is put together very well and the portion sizes are mostly all sharable - big! The value is great. There is not a lot of young patrons here when I've been but that also adds to the atmosphere in my opinion

  • Michelle Turcotte

The best meal I've eaten since moving to Winnipeg 20 years ago. The chicken schnitzel, cabbage and O'brien potatoes were to die for. Hooked for life.

A cozy restaurant serving up European comfort food. A very warm and homey atmosphere from the hospitality to the huge portions of food and the taste. Make sure you try their hazelnut pie! Will definitely be back.

1st time here. I have to say it was amazing good food. Portions were large, the food was steaming hot from the kitchen. We were extremely happy with the food. Especially since the food was served steaming hot. Beverage menu is minimal. Definitely will go back.

It's been years since I was last here.... Why did it take so long to return?? Delicious meal, friendly staff, cozy environment and enormous portions. Reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. The cabbage side dish is phenomenal as are the O'Brian potatoes. Be sure to try the schnitzel! I won't wait this long for my next visit.

Such a Winnipeg gem. The food was amazing as always and the service was fantastic. I would suggest to make a reservation.... The restaurant is not large so if you want to eat in, book your time. They also offer take out which is equally delicious.

This is our second visit to Bistro Dansk and it's definitely one of THE best places to eat. The portions are huge. I can't ever finish my plate. The food arrives hot and fresh. The chicken schnitzel is fabulous and the sweet and sour cabbage is awesome. Love the potatoes too. I don't think there's anything not to like.

  • Don

Amazing food and service. Charming bistro that serves up soup thats perfect on a cold day. Price point for what you receive is exceptional, and just because the portions are huge, the quality doesn't suffer. Cabbage is amazing, and schnitzel is perfectly cooked. One successful food baby in the works.

Danish/Czech restaurant with very generous portions and home style cooking. Excellent schnitzel and goulash. The cabbage is sweet, sour and delicious. Lunch portions are still enormous. Friendly efficient service. It gets very busy at lunch so go early. There seems to be lots of regulars.

  • Alexis K. Wenzowski

Such a gem of a restaurant. Stolled by for lunch and was greeted by great service and a homey decor. All the food - borscht, schnitzel, cabbage, and more - was delicious, affordable, and with giant portions. I will definitely be back.

Fantastic food. One of the best restaurants in the city! The place is always packed. I recommend anything on their menu, especially the chicken livers. Their schnitzel is perfectly cooked, and their sweet red cabbage is dessert on its own. Try the goulash, you will not regret it!

  • Kyle Schmidt (Schmidty164)

This is the most food I've eaten in months. Everything was great. The pork schnitzel, the O'Brian potatoes, the roast potatoes, even the spicy mushrooms were on point. Try it all, definitely want bring my parents here one day.

Look, forget anything you thought you knew about schnitzel. I've had schnitzel in some of the best restaurants, but nothing compares to Bistro Dansk's chicken schnitzel. Crispy, juicy, and most importantly, enormous. Just... Just try it. You will never be disappointed.

  • John Hoffman

Awesome eastern European food. Generous servings! Small, quaint place. Since there is no longer great German food, or Hungarian restaurants in Winnipeg, this is the place to go when you need your homestyle comfort food. And you'll take some home for leftovers tomorrow!

  • Robert Rose

Oh. My. God. If you eat any kind of schnitzel here make absolutely certain to put their homemade sauerkraut alll over it. I couldn't make myself leave leftovers even if I'd wanted to.

This place is crazy good. The food is super fresh tasting and delicious, the prices are more than fair, and the portions are amazing too. The parking situation isn't great, but it's worth a small walk through a nice neighborhood any way. Get the Dansk Shnitzel!

  • Lisa Legault

Comfort food! Good service. Good borscht. The meat balls I had were a little dry and the potatoes are deep fried from fozen... that's the only reason be they don't get 5

Freindly service, knowledgeable staff and Fantastic food! We had the pork schnitzel with the sweet and sour cabbage: generous portions and flavours that will plan to come back for more. It's a pretty busy place so call ahead to make a reservation.

  • Arturo

This was the best dining experience I've had in forever their schnitzel is to die for. Extremely friendly staff and large portion sizes. Nice little hole in the wall that not enough people know about. Go check them out on your next dinner outing.

  • Ben Jiménez

A great place for a hearty meal, their schnitzel is legendary. At peak times parking in the area can be a real chore. I would consider the menu to be elaborate and reasonably priced. I can see why this place was featured on 'You gotta eat here'

  • MA J

Finally got around to trying Bistro Dansk! Delicious food and the portions are very generous, particularly the schnitzel. The borscht was great too. Food was nice and hot when we picked it up and staff was very friendly. Highly recommend.

Excellent food, amazing service, small and intimate yet very friendly staff. The Pork Schnitzel is some of the best I have ever had (and I lived in Germany for a few years)

First time there, with 6 Good Friends enjoying an evening at a Great restaurant. Appetizers nice , the Borscht was full of flavour and main dish was perfect. (Schnitzel) Make time to visit, you will truly understand my Review.

Excelent service and food. It's hard to find restaurants that take the time to make everything from scratch. P.S. The buns and bread are delicious.

Amazing food and service! Ordered the stuffed veal and kylling. Food was fresh, hot, and delicious! Worth the wait! The staff were great and the atmosphere friendly and inviting. A gem of a restaurant! Can't wait to go back!

  • liz cook

Very nice neighborhood restaurant but quite small. Holds about 45 people. Prices are very reasonable. The day we went meat was a little overdone . Staff quiet friendly. Parking at a premium as to being on a main street.

  • Frank K

Food unbelievable, staff great. Been here twice now, and each time I leave absolutely stuffed. Their noted dish(s) is the chicken and pork schnitzel. I assure you, you will not walk out hungry. Very highly recommend.

  • H H

I work close by and called 15 mins before I took my lunch and they had no problem having everything cook and packaged. The lunch special is so good and so much food and great price. Thank you for the delicious food.

  • Bonnie Mykolshyn

3.5* Borcht, Beet soup, made meatless is very delicious. Served with fresh bread made in house. The chicken crepe is mild tasting, could be heightened by adding spices.. Served with fruit. Plating is old school.

  • Amber Wiebe

Borscht was to die for. Chicken and pork schnitzel was very good, as was the potato salad. Pan fried potatoes were amazing. Fresh homemade bread was awesome.

By far the best schnitzel I have had at any restaurant. Their best soup was also incredible. The staff was friendly and food arrived on time. The place was a little too small but overall great experience

  • Ben Fleisher

Their schnitzel is better than mine. That's it. That's the tweet. Everything here is delicious and has such huge portions that you're not only ordering supper, you're ordering lunch for the next day.

It continues to deliver an eoutstanding dining experience. I strongly recommend the chocolate eclair for dessert. It is the epitome of decadence. Do yourself a favour and dine at Bistro Dansk.

A wonderful experience!! The food is amazing and had the pleasure of meeting the owners. I absolutely love the borch soup!!! Chicken schnitzel with cabbage was amazing. I will be back!!

Went for lunch on Thurs 01 Feb in a group of five people. The food was great and the service was the best I've had anywhere in months. The rest of the group was happy with the food as well.

  • Ella Morrison

Quite a pleasant place to have a nice dinner. Everything was carefully decorated and organised. Food was prepared so well and delicious. I'm hoping soon I'll visit it again. Great service!

  • Joey Brisson

Excellent service. The Chicken Schinitzel lunch special is delicious. Large portion with an amazing Dill Potato salad and a few small slices of fruit. Recommended you stop in for lunch.
