Great campsite. Right next to the river. All the camping spots are great (they are not marked). There are fire pits installed all over the place. You can set up camp near one, just need to bring your firewood. No collection allowed. Facilities are clean and well maintained. Hot showers are timed to 5mins. There are a couple of water taps across the campground so you don't have to go all the way to the facilities to get water if you need it. Great for kids to play around. We saw a wombat roaming around near the camp at night. The basin is walking distance from the camp. Beautiful views in the morning. Can get busy during the day on the weekends. Rangers are always around and monitoring the place. There are still parts of the national park and tracks closed for repairs. You can still see the remains from the previous flood damage. There is very limited phone coverage in the area. There can be a lot of flies during hot days.
Restrooms
Facilities are old but well maintained and clean.
Dog-friendliness
No pets allowed
Picnic area
Picnic area can be accessed separately to camping. Spacious area with a public toilet. Coal BBQs allowed and there is a coal bin.

Nice and quiet place... Fire allowed but bring your own firewood! We saw some people taking wood from the forest even though there are signs telling you not to do that... The campground is well maintained and the toilets and showers are really good, maybe too good, it's almost glamping. There is also a big covered space close to the kitchen with tables and benches. The space is available for events, so be aware that sometimes, when there, you won't be able to use it and also sometimes there can be parties happening, specially during the weekend . They are pretty restrict with music and how loud you should be though, I think amplified music is not allowed in that space and they should stop any kind of noise at 10pm. So you can still have a good night of sleep, wake up early in the morning and walk to the river( it's a short walk, 5-10minutes on an easy path, there are toilets there as well). It's beautiful, there is also a trail which takes you to a lookout, it's worth it doing the walk, it takes probably around 40min return.

Best swimming hole in Sydney. The surrounding is picturesque - You're adjacent to a nice little mountain with beautiful sloped trees, giving the feeling that you're in an exotic lagoon. Lake Parramatta cannot even compare. This one is at least rather large and round, giving people so much room to swim in. Also, its waters are sandy and consistent - The get deep at the right parts and you don't slip (unlike the rocky and slippery beach in LP). The downsides, which are rather minor (as they're not quite affiliated with the pool), are the rocks at the mouth of Nepean River, and how you get there. They should've built an appropriate and stable walking track that gets to the efflux (I'm sure many people have slipped and injured themselves). The parking area should also be outstretched and lengthened, because a lot of people come here. Please construct a larger parking space.

Even though it was cold and rainy it didn’t dampen our time there. (Excuse the pun )This gem is only 30mins away from the Liverpool area and has all the facilities you need for a great time out doors. There are bathrooms, showers with hot water. Note they are free. For larger groups you can hire out the kitchen and shelter they have there. You do need to pay for parking. It’s $8 a day. Our group enjoyed chilling by the camp fire and relaxing They have a nice hike trail that depending on your fitness can take 30mins that has a great view of the area. Also a nice lake to swim in! All the ingredients for a great time with family or fiends. Be careful when finding the place as it can be tricky. Apple maps initially led me to the other end of bents basin with really rocky dirt roads. We made it out ok if you were wondering.

Bents Basin offers a camping experience that is within easy reach of urban Sydney suburbs. It’s an open, grassy campground bordered by trees on one side and featuring Bents Basin on the other. Take your pick of campsites, pitch your tent or bring your caravan or trailer along. It’s a great choice whether you are going family camping or camping with a larger group. Once you’ve set up camp, what you do next is up to you; relax by the Basin, take a walk along Caleys lookout track, go for a paddle or try your hand at fishing, or if you’re feeling hungry, start up the barbecue to cook your lunch. You’ll find excellent facilities, including a camp kitchen ideal for group bookings and hot showers – a welcome luxury after a day exploring this park.

A really great campground for families and big groups who do not want to travel too far from Sydney. Facilities include: hot showers, flushing toilets, wood fired and electric BBQs, and drinking water. Make sure you check-in at the office when you arrive and know the security code for the gates (for after hour access). Parking fees applies - $8 per vehicle per day. Campsites are unmarked and unpowered, and you can park next to your tent. It’s about a 15 minute walk or 3 minute drive to Bents Basin. There you would find toilets, a clearing with BBQ facilities, and a wonderful swimming spot. However, it can also get overly crowded and noisy with extremely large groups.

  • Nahar A Disha

A beautiful unmarked campground adjacent to a picnic and park area, booking can be done from NSW National Parks website. There is also a shaded function area with a service kitchen which can be booked with camping. The campground has fire pits but you have to bring your own woods. Toilets and showers are available close by. Best to bring your own BBQ setup as they are just too few to serve the crowd on any weekend. There are some shaded picnic tables outside the camping area for general use, in case the one in the camping area is reserved. An entry fee of $8 per day is applicable for each vehicle, just like any other NSW National Park.

  • Kellie Blackall

Great for groups of people that want to get drunk, noisy and light fires... unlike a private commercial camping park it’s not policed at all after 5pm so we had partying groups going til 3am with music blaring and lots of yelling. The toilets are good except they are also not regularly cleaned and we had a group arrive on our second day there that seemed hell bent on blocking all the sinks and leaving toilet paper strewn everywhere. Also we were eaten alive by mosquitoes. The swimming place was beautiful and would definitely come back for day picnics and swimming but wouldn’t stay overnight again.

  • Hoong Fai Lai

Good facilities, nice picturesque surrounding and friendly rangers. The 3-min timer on hot shower is a lot longer than it is specified but not like I was going to waste water. I am happy that all campers pretty much kept the toilet clean. Happy Campers! Many taps near camp sites, easy access to them for drinking and washing. And fire pits too! Can be used when there's no fire ban in the area. Only complaint was a group of campers who were blaring loud music at night, even though they tuned it down at 10 pm the music went on until after 1 am. Really inconsiderate of them

  • Adam Greaves

For what it is meant to be, can't fault it. It's a basic drive-in campground, close to most of southern and western Sydney. No powered sites, but electric BBQs and hot showers. No marked or allocated sites, but management don't book it to capacity - on the Australia Day long weekend, Rangers told us the ground was booked out, but there was plenty of good space for all. No playground, but easy to spend hours swimming in the Basin and also a few easy bushwalks. There was a friendly vibe amongst the campers when we there, joining in cricket games and sharing campfires.

  • Bic Letran

Very happy with the well maintained, clean & well lit shower & toilet facilities. Timed hot showers. Decent water pressure & decent sized cubicles with locks on doors. (Bring your own mirror - the one in the bathroom is basically a sheet of steel). We felt very secure staying there. Friendly park ranger did the usual rounds each day. Definitely recommend for anyone who wants to ease into camping & avoid the rough experience. Daily swims were also a highlight. Looking forward to going back!

  • Kiar Muri

It is a nice place for camping, however there are some people abusing the freedom to camp in this beautiful place. I’ve been here in this place few times with a bunch of kids. Last time I visited here there was a group of campers shouting and get drunk until morning. This time, there was a party in the hall for the whole night and many were drunk that couldn’t even walk to the toilet. The kids were terrified. I was wondering how the excessive alcohol usage allowed in this public place.

  • James H

It's a beautiful spot, close to Sydney with great amenities. But unfortunately that comes at a cost - it's overcrowded, and noisy at night, so if you're after some peace and quiet, maybe not the best choice. We stayed two nights and the first night there was a large group near us who were drunk and very loud. They were asked by people on three seperate occasions to keep the noise down, but they ignored us and partied on until about 3am, which is when we finally got to sleep :(

  • Ben Roche

Nice open areas, lots of areas to setup a tent, caravan, camper trailer or for a day visit. Lots of fire pits, so if no fire ban, can have a fire. Bring your own wood. Showers are good, hot water is timed but free. Cleaned regularly. It's a shame that some people can't use a toilet correctly on a couple of days, there are no squat toilets there. NPW does a great job cleaning up the mess left behind by some. Nice swimming in the lake, or fishing. Can get busy over the weekend.

  • Crissie Boukouris

Excellent spot with great facilities. There is a locked gate with pin code access before 9am and after 5pm. I reccomend to prepay, as you can only gain access with a pin outside of these hours. We were lucky enough to gain access and pay the following day. This location is approx 40 minutes off the Hwy coming from Melbourne, but absolutely worth it with its great facilities. Would be great if they had a firewood spot, particularly for those travelling from far.

  • YUJIE HU

I’ve been half sleeping since 9:30pm and now it’s 11:24pm, after a little boy kindly asking if those people making noises can be little quiet, some listened and stopped but some adults to my left side are still talking and laughing loudly at the moment. Feel so helpless, I’ve never found a campground can be so noisy in a such late time. Feeling like lots of TV playing Korean round me, the music show and Korean drama have stopped, but the talk show has not…

  • Beverly Rehill

This was the most amazing place for us to camp. It had everything that we needed. It wasn't too busy. It was absolutely beautiful. The toilets and showers were the best we had ever seen in a camp area (10/10) full of toilet paper.. was amazing. Top of all that, the ranger man drove around to check on everyone and sold us some much needed fire wood. This was perfect as we needed wood and the fire added so much to our trip. Thank you so much

  • Lachlan Rogers

Fantastic location within easy reach of Sydney. The Campground is extensive and didn't feel crowded even though it was booked to Capacity. There are amenities with good toilets and warm showers! There are large any nests on the edge of the campsite, although they left us alone (for scraps will certainly attract the ants so be careful to use the bins). I'd like to explore the area further next time.

  • Saddim

This is a place to sit back and relax and it's run by the National parks. A modest number of businesses, including a deli, pharmacist, and mini-market, are only a 15-minute drive away. It's recommended to make a reservation because the gates close at 430pm. You can't get in if you don't have the code. It's perfect for a lone trip or a family outing. Entry via Wolstenholme Avenue, Greendale, NSW.

  • Evie Sen

Area is nice however our experience was terrible as we were lied to about rules we should have been informed about and were told to leave without being given even a partial refund. We payed (a very expensive price) to stay 4 nights and were only able to stay 2 before being asked to pack up under very unreasonable conditions by a rude park ranger. Overall, terrible experience, would not suggest.

  • Richard Errington

Here over easter while the place was at capacity (400 people). The 3 minute limit on hot water was annoying but understandable. Only 2 electric BBQs for the whole site was a bit inadequate, and nothing was done about the people who set their chairs up around them for the night. That said it was a beautiful spot, would definitely go back, probably at a less busy time.

  • Ali Hazim

Only stupid people decide to go on their first camping trip in - 1°C weather and we did just that. Saving grace was that it was 16°C during the day, so we had some sunlight to dry up the ice that covered all our gear overnight. Hot showers were magical except when the water in the pipes froze up early morning but can't blame the camp grounds on that.... Or can I?

  • Youlu's life diary 妈妈是东北小妞

Quite a nice place to camp. There are showers, toilets, one bbq facility with outside sitting area. There is also a kitchen available but you have to book for it. I think it's $60/day. There is also a lovely lake near by and you can swim in it. Most importantly this is one of the camping area that allows you to set up Fire. So overall I rate this place 4/5

  • 2lethal82

Very clean and easily accessible from well maintained roads. There are kitchens available as well as showers but it is an unpowered site. There is a very large basin of fresh water to swim in as well as to fish in. It is situated 15mims from the nearest shops and town. Highly recommended for beginner camping enthusiasts.

  • Sed O

The place is perfect! Loved the spacious campgrounds and the basin is heaven on a warm day. It's the inconsiderate campers that ruined our experience. No rangers/management after 6PM to implement rules (not blaming anyone), 10PM noise curfew did not exist for these a-holes, had to put up with party goers until 1AM.

  • Abbeykimchi

There were rowdy and drunk people (about 15 of them) that camped beside our tent and they partied until midnight. Although it was stated in the info sheet that amplified music was prohibited, they still did it. I wish there was a strong staff presence for the campers to feel safe.

  • The Guide

Loved the trip here, great place for fishing, camping or adventurists and the like, Gets cold in winter, you can even make a barbecue and have a feast with the family, for parking here though you must pay a fee, so make sure you have some change as there isnt any card machines.

  • Shoaib Saleem

Certainly somewhere to go with family. Great for BBQ and a dip into the water. There is a rope swing for the kids but beware it is a little unsafe. I’d strongly recommend to visit if you’re looking for a relaxing atmosphere although keep in mind on weekends it is really busy.

  • Simon Hallgath-Jolly

An excellent camp site with some nice walks and beautiful waterways. Plenty of space. You can park next to your tent. Good toilet and shower facilities with hot water. Plenty of fire boxes for everyone. Be prepared for very cold nights though even in spring and autumn.

  • Jeff Lindsay

Nice area, plenty of open grassy camping areas to set up on. Fire pits where I was but it was the peak of summer at over 40 degrees celcius so no need for a camp fire. Flies drove me bonkers but I'm sure it was due to the crazy hot weather. Yes, I'd go back there.

  • Zoe Young

Beautiful spot, even with quite a few other families here. Plenty of space. Cliff jumping, amenities and heaps of shade. BBQs available. The water looks deceptively calm, however. Stay vigilant when children, or friends who may have consumed alcohol, are swimming.

  • Maha Griffen

Excellent campsite for warmer weather but gets incredibly busy and rowdy - both in the camping area and around the water during the day. Beautiful scenery and plenty of wildlife about - have even seen a couple of wombats. Allows campfires which is handy.

  • sandeep punia

What a place to have picnic or camping. Best facilities and wonderful staff. Bent basin is wonderful fresh water sports area. Kids love this place and a lot of activities around. Best part is proximity to Sydney. Must go place for family and friends

  • Priyanka Gyawali

Lovely place! Best for people who are planning camping first time or with kids. Lots of area, fire pits, clean toilets with hot showers too. Ideal spot for family and best in summer to enjoy swimming. Very well maintained you wont be disappointed.

  • pramesh patel

We have been there 3 times.i like this place.lots of people coming here for one day picnic. This is also camping site.so you can book tent or caravan place here.but due to summer this place become dry little bit.only paid parking available here.

  • Jason Munns

Nice campground with clean facilities including hot showers. Currently only partially open (Oct 2023) due to flood damage, some areas are still fenced off, but access to the basin is available and also one walking track up to the Gorge lookout.

  • jenn li

nice spot for family picnic. surprisingly, it can get crowded even though it looks like its hidden behind farms. its falling apart in some areas due to previous flood. great place, but its shameful how people just leave their rubish everywhere.

  • Sunshyne Onaghise

Good facilities, friendly informative rangers, close enough to amenities if you need to stock up on ice. Not as much wildlife as other parks and gets busy and at times noisy on the wkds. Plenty of space for the kids and places to explore.

  • Andrew Last

I did not know that this place existed, and what a great find. We will definitely be camping here soon.

Good place for a night camping plan... scenic views... well maintained washroom facility... easy to locate through maps.. overall experience was good.. However avoid weekend rush for best peaceful experience!

  • Sue Cook

There has been a flood recently which has caused a few problems but still we were very disappointed that the area had lost its 'natural bush' appeal and water quality, being controlled, mowed and modernised'.

  • Jason Woods

Beautiful spot at the base of the mountains. Drive-in with plenty of room so it doesn't feel cramped. Kitchen (needs to be booked) and a couple of BBQs (if you need). Easy walk to a beautiful swimming spot.

  • Natasha Morrell

First time ever been there. Pity weather wasnt great on xmas day but on a hot day it would b awesome. I wish a bulldozer could go around edge and make more beach space for familys to lay down thier towels

  • Ehsan ES

Astonishing veiws, good facilities, plenty spaces to park yourvehicle and camp, hot water showers and clean toilets. There is a beautiful lake that you can swim through with very nice surrounding views.

Definitely one of the better camping grounds close to Sydney. I've to give it "only" three stars because there are farms next to it that heavily fertilise. It cause strong smell and plenty of flyes.

  • Maria Shayakhmetova

The only pluses - not far from Sydney and its near the river, where you can swim. Otherwise...uncleaned toilet, kitchen only for aditional 65$, no frige, dusty camping grounds with no enough shadow

  • Beverley Holmes

Spacious camp sites.Covid friendly so not fully booked. Clean ablutions with hot water. Short walk to the swimming hole. Peaceful. Campfires allowed which was great when it was raining and chilly

  • Jason Devine

Lots of unmarked camping. Hot showers timed 2min on 2min off. Good swimming hole. All paid camping and parking. Need pin code to access after 4pm. Fire pits. Byo wood. Rangers inspect everyday.

  • Franc Kwun

Great spot for everyone, lots of families and plenty of space for camping with easy access and clean change rooms/toilets. Great place for short getaway and exploring the conservation area.

  • AD VE

Very unhelpful with changing dates. Any other campground allows changes. After lockdowns you would expect them to be more acceptable to change dates. Will not book here again!!

  • Sujal Khatiwada

Had a great day off on Christmas day picnic at Bents Basin. Nice little camping ground and freshwater pool. Only put off was tonnes of flies on a hot summer day .

  • Aimée Nguyễn

Great and spacious camping site with clean toilet and bathroom. A Cayleys lookout walking track leads to the top with nice view. Chill basin to swim and fishing.

  • Tom America van den Heuvel

A fine campground, but it would be nice if the rangers would do a extra check in the evening, to make sure everyone is quiet and behaves within the park rules.

  • Peter Johnston

Not a bad place to visit and have a picnic. It is very popular though and can get quite crowded. Get there early to get a good spot and avoid disappointment

  • Mohd Hafiz Mohd Saadon

Great place for family hangouts, quiet popular even though not too exposed. Suitable for kayaking, swimming, feet dipping, barbecuing, camping and picnic.

  • Axmz piyawuth

very impressed so clean toilet hot show , toilet roll very soft very satisfied, but the ground real solid , all good over all , will be back winter.

  • Malik

The perfect weekend getaway just an hours drive from the inner west. Camp with comfort and still enjoy a country side feel. Its great for families.

  • Todd M

Great campsite. However... lock up everything at night. I had firewood and my bottle of scotch stolen literally 2 metres from my tent while I slept

  • Joseph Sorrensen

Great spot only 40mins from Western Sydney. Good facilities and an excellent water hole for the summer time. Definitely an easy weekend getaway.

  • Stephen Mitchell

What happened to the grass ? Such a shame the place is such a dust bowl these days. I remember playing on the lush green grass when i was little

  • Cécile Caminade

$34 per night + $8 day pass but great amenities. BYO firewood to use in the dedicated fire pits. Amazing swimming hole and nice walk to lookout
