Fantastic bakery, went on the first morning of our Quebec City visit and loved it so much, we returned two more times! It was our favourite stop for delicious pastries, crepes and specialty coffees. On top of that, the service was exceptional, the gentleman at the cash was a dynamo, working hard to clear the line with a smile and switching from English to French with admirable ability. The pastries were airy and light with perfect taste and texture. The crepes were perfect and light with delicious fillings, sweet or savoury and the lattes/cappuccinos were fantastic! The Iced maple latte was a favourite! The sandwiches, including the capicola, the tuna and the croque monsieur, were fabulous, on delicious fresh bread/buns and priced affordably for a lunch takeaway, a bonus thing for busy days walking the city. Centrally located right by City Hall, this is a must go for all visitors! There are tables inside and also a few sidewalk tables.

While we were in Quebec on vacation, we tried Baguette & Chocolat our first morning there. After that, this place was our first stop every single day. The gentleman at the register (who I believe was the owner) met us every morning with a smile, a friendly demeanor, and was helpful in assisting us to decide what we wanted. The rest of the staff were friendly as well. The crepes were fantastic and were very large portions. Honestly, my wife and I could have probably split every crepe we ate and been full, but we always wanted to try as many different things as we could. The "Western" crepe was one of my favorites. All of the coffee variations that we tried were bold, flavorful, and affordable. If you're looking for a daily stop to get great coffee, fresh and tasty crepes, baked goods, and a nice atmosphere in downtown Quebec, put Baguette & Chocolat on your list.

This cafe offers pastries, sandwiches and crepes on top of coffee, and there's fridges filled with cold drinks including alcoholic beverages. There's various table seating inside which offers a more relaxed casual feel, rather than that of a trendy cafe. The coffee on offer is the Italian Illy brand. I ordered a Latte machiatto that seems to have been made from a push button machine, as opposed to a proper Italian style coffee machine. Whilst this tasted ok, the coffee and the froth wasn't as good as a good proper Italian style coffee, and it was expensive for what it was. I also had the Almond croissant which turned out to be pretty decadent as it was not only topped, but filled with an eggy Almond cream. Not a bad place to grab a casual coffee and some decent pastries, but some of the menu options seemed a bit pricey compared to other places around town.

The food was great, but the servers were horrid and frankly a little racist. We were told there would be a 40 minute wait for our food which we accepted. After 40 minutes, we received only half of our order. We mentioned this to the staff and were told to wait a little longer. We continued to wait for another 40 minutes, after which we had to leave and asked for a refund for the items we did not receive. The server became rude and rushed whatever items we had not been served and ordered us to take them; then proceeded to say “you people are always like this, rude and cheap”. We are visibly south asian. We asked for an itemized receipt and did not receive one until we demanded for one. We did not take our food, and had to call our bank to dispute half the charges. While the food we did receive was great, it was an unnecessarily awful experience.

This place was one of the highlights to our vacation. Danny, the person taking orders up front was one of the nicest people we met in Quebec City. Not only did he speak English well but he's fluent in Spanish also. The coffee, mocachino, hot coffee and the pastries are awesome. If I could only have eaten one thing in Quebec City, it would have been the almond croissants which were filled with a buttery, sugary, almond sauce that caused us to go there 2 of the 3 days in Quebec for breakfast and we took home 3 extras. Wow! Don't miss it. Best spot! And the crepes were out of this world too.

Everything about this place was just phenomenal. I am glad to have experienced this place. The guy who took my order (I believe he was the owner/manager) was very friendly, I tried to order with my little knowledge in french and he was very nice about me trying. The chocolat chaud that I ordered was very creamy & rich = perfection! Also got some crepes which was also perfect! Location is also great, right at the heart of Old town Quebec. Ambiance is very welcoming, warm and I like the music. Staff is very very friendly and customer oriented. Definitely one of my favourite laid back cafes in Quebec, will be back for sure!

Diverse menu options, I ordered the La Classique crepe which was excellent. As an American I usually don’t order food with ham in it but if you typically don’t like American ham I would definitely try crepes with ham in them! The ham is not watery or too sweet like the ham back at home. If you like a heavier more dessert like breakfast, the La Authentique (Nutella, banana, and whipped cream crepe) was sweet and filling. The Le Champetre had fluffy eggs and was also very good. The highlight here was the avocado/smoked salmon toast. It came on a delicious white flatbread with oats in it. If you’re looking for a taste of Quebec with options that are familiar to tourists and room to sit down I would highly recommend Baguette & Chocolate!!

  • M Son

They had the best crepe in my life. I love crepe and have tried so many but this is by far the best and had to go back to get a sweet one! For breakfast, I had a crepe with bacon, egg and mozzarella which was quite filling and made fresh. Then, I went for walk for awhile and came back for a sweet crepe with bananas, vanilla ice cream and chocolate. Just perfect portion with good amount of bananas and ice cream to add right amount of sweetness. Also, they made really good vanilla latte that went well with the crepe. I was skeptical because of the "touristy" location but I was so wrong and this is the true gem with super friendly staff!

Absolutely horrible. The food was great but we waited for about 80 min for half our order when we were told 40 min. The entire party left after about 80 min and then they served our food, but we all had already left. We told them we want to return the order because we all had to go, but they wouldn’t refund us or take the food back. He then started screaming at us and made racist comments (we are all muslim) and would not refund our order at all. We asked nicely and they kept being disrespectful. Extremely rude and not returning ever again.

Amazing breakfast! Sad we came on our last day - would’ve loved this more than just once on our trip! Crepes were amazing, light and fluffy, not an over powering amount of flavor, just perfect! Chocolate croissant was to die for! Service was amazing as well, the man that brought our food was so funny and so sweet! 10/10 recommend for a quick but very tasty breakfast.

First time here. Walked around aimlessly and starving, not knowing what I felt like eating but also not wanting to spend a silly amount of money on just lunch. Came across this lovely café with a very friendly man behind the counter who gladly told me the options for the soup and full sandwich deal. I chose the turkey BLT on multigrain with broccoli soup and a coffee. So yummy and filling! And reasonable at around $15

We had a wonderful experience! Delicious drinks and food - we especially loved the mochaccino, chocolatine, and crepe traditionelle. We sat by the window and the breeze coming through was very pleasant. The man at the register was very friendly, greeting and thanking guests. He was kind when I tried ordering in my horrible french, even though he can speak english. Gave me a boost of confidence in addition to a delicious brunch. Glad we stopped by!

Crêpes were ok, nothing exciting There are better places if that is what you're looking for. Also had a waffle (which was the packaged kind unfortunately). I thought they were made fresh to order. Pictured here are the spinach/egg/cheese and banana/chocolate. *the chocolate sauce on the crepes was not good - tasted like Hershey's syrup. :( Just trying to provide an honest review if you're serious about eating good food, especially crêpes. Unfortunately I was mislead here with the previous 5 star reviews......

Great cafe in Vieux Quebec. Stop off to rest your tired feet and grab a delicious crepe. I had the Classic with ham, spinach, and mozzarella. The atmosphere was nice but a little sterile. It wouldn't keep me from going back however.

Very cool creperie. We had a few different crepes: with egg and cheese, and with Nutella, very nice and soft crepes. My only suggestion is to expand a variety of filings that will increase popularity and give customers more options. Also enjoyed coffee and chocolate croissants.

This cafe is absolutely wonderful! The staff is SO FRIENDLY - like what kind of coffee are they drinking? I want some! So much energy! We loved how people signed napkins of where they were visiting from and posted them to the walls. The food and pastries were yummy, but truly the staff were so helpful. Thanks for making us Americans feel welcome!

Best crossaint I've ever had!!! Only complaint was waiting in line for 20 or so minutes just for a pastry...I have no clue why the line (which was short) moved so slowly...We had originally wanted to get a crepe but they said it would take 20 minutes...having already waited 20-30 minutes, we decided that it was not worth spending any more time waiting for food as we were starving at the time!

Honestly the worst experience in the city!!!!! The manager was rude and made very rude remarks in French. I would recommend that no one go here. The only good part was the nice man making good crepes. The coffee was horrible and not worth a cent, they messed up my order and then didn’t remake it for awhile.

Best gelato I've ever had(you gotta try the mango)! Great selection of both gelato and sorbet at reasonable prices. I didn't try their pastries....but they looked amazing! They also have a good sitting area with ample tables and a couple couches. Normal cafe noise but nothing too bothersome. Ill definitely be coming back sometime to try their pastries and coffee.

This was a cute little coffee shop, the service was really good. We wanted the lunch special but they didn't have any vegetarian sandwichs so we ended up ordering crepe. The grilled veggies crepe was very good! The coffee was good as well. The green smoothie was a tad bit sour but its because they used all fresh ingredients and I enjoyed it.

Best crepes I’ve ever had. I tried crepes in different parts of the U.S., in Toronto and Montreal, but at this place I believe they cook the most authentic, European style dough, very thin and soft. The taste is close to a Russian version of crepes called blinz. Amazing! Also people working here are quite nice and friendly.

  • Michael Williamson

While most cafes are serving people in disposable dishes and cups I loved the fact that they are still serving everything in proper crockery. Servers were really pleasant to talk to as well.
