I wrote this review because of the extreme appreciation toward Mr. Ali. This was my first time using Alamo. Mr. Ali is the reason why I will go with Alamo again when I need a car. I needed a truck to move. I booked a car online from Alamo. However, when I went to pick up my truck, my credit card had some problem and wouldn’t go through. I tried to call my bank, but they couldn't do anything about my card immediately. I had no choice but to delay my whole schedule and cancel my reservation. If I remember correctly, the rental place's official closing time was 4:30 or 5:00. Mr. Ali stayed to help me till over 5pm on that day. The most challenging aspect was that I had to move before the first of July, which meant I had no choice but to move the very next day. But when I tried to reschedule the rental date to the next day, I noticed the rate had jumped from 140 to over 400… Seeing the situation, Mr. Ali decided to do as much as he could to overcome the situation. After Mr. Ali's diligent work, he eventually told me confidently, 'I have reserved the same vehicle at the same price for you tomorrow.' He then expressed his comprehension toward my delay, but he probably didn’t even know how much I appreciated his help and the result. My credit card was functioning again the next day, and Mr. Ali helped me secure the truck at the same price. I then had a very successful move. I was feeling frustrated when the problem happened. However, I appreciate the problem afterward because if it’s not this problem, I would not have gotten to know the gentleman, Mr. Ali. I appreciate not only his perseverance and effort to explore all possible ways to assist his customer, but also the way he talked, the way he showed his comprehension really touched me inside. It’s beyond money. What Ali did is also beyond mere professionalism; he showed genuine emotion and concern, caring about the problem as much as, if not more than, I did. I will certainly be an Alamo customer again. I hope the company sees this review and realizes how good a person Ali is. Wish you the best, Ali. I hope to see you again!

There is construction going on at the airport so the rental car shuttle is a short walk across the street. Once at the Rental car center they have separate doors for each agency. Alamo National and Enterprise are all located within one door. 7/25 about 9am they weren’t very busy so I waited about 3 minutes for the employee to finish with the person in front of me. It was extremely quick check in and they tell you to go up the escalators to the second floor garage and see the attendant there. She looked at our reservations and walked us to where the pickups were. 3-4 Red Ram 1500 classics (not the new body style). Two 2023 F-150s, a sliver and grey one. One was an SXT but it had expired tags and was puffing white smoke. The silver one, which we took, was an XLT with NM plates. Had under 14000 miles on it. Overall it was efficient and if I had to rent from again I would. Truck was a one-way drop off so i don’t know how returns go at this location.

All in-person interactions were fantastic! As usual, waiting for bus from terminal to rental car center was too long but not Alamo’s fault? Just factor it into plans. Car was clean and nice and all was as expected. I truly appreciate the convenience of being able to return the car at a different airport when plans were changed by weather flight cancellations. My one problem: on Sunday afternoon when I discovered my departure airport had to change, I could not reach customer service to determine if I could return the car at a different location. It all worked out when I spoke to someone during “business hours” but not being able to reach the service desk at San Diego airport even though I know it was open created unnecessary stress. If the counter is open, drivers currently in your cars should be able to reach an agent.

We arrived at the airport just after midnight. Our car was ready and check in process was quick. Car fit our large group and luggage pretty comfortably as well. One minor complaint is I was told anything about the tollway, so I paid for missed tolls online, and today was billed through Alamo as well. A slightly bigger complaint is that we returned the car very early in the morning. We checked out quickly with an attendant, and I was sent my receipt. A day or two later I saw an additional charge for "missing equipment". We rented a car seat that once installed, was never removed from the car. I talked with an employee over chat and they were able to resolve the issue and reimburse me. Next time, I will check the car over more thoroughly with the employee. Overall, good experience.

Our experience here was outstanding! Huge shout out to the manager Eric, and the super helpful people at the front desk, Paulina and Tim. Our check in was quick and easy. When we get out to the garage to pick up the convertible we had requested, the car had a low tire pressure sensor on and Eric immediately upgraded us to a luxury vehicle with no up charge and even a little discount. Our trip ended up being cut short due to a tropical storm on the way and our flight being cancelled. We were expecting to have to pay for that last day since that was what we reserved, but when we turn in our keys we are informed that that is not the case. We are extremely pleased with our seamless experience and will most definitely use Alamo rental car service in the future!

Renting process was fine typical stuff. I check in prior to picking up my vehicle so it took less than 10 mins to get keys n paperwork done. It the 15 passenger vehicle that I paid $800 for 3 days for was beat up. Older van chairs wasn’t locked in placed and kept coming off the base. Which was very dangerous for my kids sitting back there. I didn’t thoroughly inspect the vehicle when I picked it up. Didn’t know all these issues until I was already in possession of it. N was a hassle to return it. Didn’t even call to complain or try to get a refund of some sort. Hopefully ALAMO read this and makes things right. Sincerely unsatisfied customer.

Alamo and National are the only companies I rent from. It is always easy to do business with them. When we rented from this location, there was a glitch with the systems that delayed check in. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make a challenging situation as smooth as possible. When we got up to pick out our car, the gal working at the service counter apologized and offered us an upgraded rental car. We were so appreciative and excited to have the opportunity to pick out something a little more fun! Alamo always has great rental car options, clean cars, and the best service in the industry.

Check-in at the Alamo counter at the San Diego airport was very quick and easy, after which I went up a level to get my car. The Alamo representative who met me (no wait at all) offered me a free upgrade without requesting it, which I gladly accepted. I was given a new vehicle with only 1200 miles on it that was absolutely spotless, which I enjoyed for a week. When I returned the vehicle to the same location, it literally took me about 2 minutes, and I was heading for the shuttle to the terminal. I have no complaints whatsoever about Alamo. I will certainly rent from them again on my next trip.

Online reservation was easy. Very quick shuttle from SAN Airport to car rental pickup. Self serve kiosk was smooth with staff member guiding through the menus efficiently. Vehicle options were sufficient for pickup truck request. End up in a 2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro…no complaints. I guess the people before me ended up not putting the floor mats back in….just need to get those replaced but no fault to Alamo. Vehicle return was very smooth as well, staff members were friendly and gave me options for receipt. I would definitely use Alamo again for all of my car rental needs.

One of the better experiences with a rental car company. Service was great from check in to picking up the car. Drew was especially helpful and patient when we were being very indecisive about which car my family wanted. We had a ton of luggage and needed a spacious car that could fit everything but also in the style that both my wife and I wanted. We must have spent over 30 minutes trying to decide on a car but Drew gave us several options and never hurried us in our decision. Thanks Drew. Will definitely go with Alamo again when we come back to San Diego!

These folks at Alamo San Diego are the BEsT! This is the second time in six weeks of rented from this location and the customer service is on point. This time I had noticed that there was a nail in the tire of the vehicle once I got to my hotel. Since I was only staying like 10 minutes from the airport, I took the vehicle back to the Alamo and spoke with Drew. He was so accommodating and immediately switched my car out for a different car and had me on my way within 10 minutes. I appreciate the customer focused attitude. Thanks again…

This was my first time renting a car from Alamo and it was an excellent experience. I was traveling with my parents and sister, we had several bags, my dad is a big guy and my sister is on crutches. Erick recognized we might be too tight in a full size vehicle and gave us an upgrade to better accommodate us. The SUV was wonderful, the only issue that was out of our control was the electronics screen cracked, but we were still able to use the car for the week. I would highly recommend Alamo due to their excellent customer service.

I really like renting my car at Alamo. I have chosen them many times. I had a great, clean car. Only lost one star because I was given a car without the gas tank full. It was about 1/8-1/4 tank empty. It’s impossible to know when to stop the fill on return to the same amount. I returned the car with a full tank of gas. I was supposed to be credited for it at the time of return, but was not. Usually they are way better than this. I hope I’m credited for this cause I’m sure they charged the last customer for returning it not full.

I used the self-check kiosk to pick up my rental. It was easy and I avoided a very long line. Absolutely loved the kiosk. Getting my SUV was even easier, I was immediately greeted and escorted to my line of choices. The vehicle was clean and ready to go. I chose a Ford Edge and loved it. Drop off was just as easy as pick up. I was greeted by friendly staff that quickly checked in the vehicle, thanked me and sent me on my way. This was an excellent rental experience. I will absolutely use Alamo again.

Rental mini-van was ready and very clean when we arrived with a number of vehicles to pick from. I used the self-serve kiosk to avoid waiting in line, as I had an existing reservation. Van was in excellent condition with all the “bells and whistles”. Checkout was easy and returning the van was a breeze. We brought it back slightly early and attendant discounted the rental. He was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely rent from Alamo again.

I am so grateful for the service I received here for my short rental. Upon arrival Gissele was friendly and helpful. The car we used ran well and was perfect for our mini road trip. Upon returning the car Eric the manager was friendly and helpful as well. I had to rent the car under unfortunate circumstances, not to mention during a difficult time for our family. A little kindness goes a long way and I am glad we rented with Alamo.

With a flight cancelled and having to get to where I was going as fast as possible I turned to Alamo rent-a-car at the San Diego airport. The lines were long with everybody trying to get a car and only three service Representatives at the counter, I thought it was going to take forever to get my car. However they were working hard and within a half an hour I had my car And was on my way. A great experience on a stressful day.

The car was in immaculate condition and there were several to choose from. Ali at the check in desk went the extra mile to help us with an addition to our reservation and Alfonso at the car return made our lives just a little bit easier by helping us park closer to the exit. Every aspect positive. Our flight was late, check in fast and easy. We were given an option of upgrade. On road within minutes . Small SUV was a great choice for us. No issues with operation of car. Great customer service from the shuttle drivers, reps from check in and returning. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Shuttles were present for arrival and departure, i never had to wait! The whole process was easy and very convenient. What stood out from my whole experience. When I waited in line to check in, another rental company assisted me even though I was renting from Alamo!

Car was in good shape and attendants were pleasant. Important tip for Alamo: PLEASE remember to ask your customers for the keys upon return, especially at an airport. People are in a hurry and trying to catch their plane. It can be disastrous if they are well into the airport and realize that they still have the keys and have to turn back in their check in process.

I really appreciated her accommodating me under the circumstances. I was able to get a pick of my vehicle in less than 15 minutes. Wait time in line after taking the airport shuttle was less than 2 minutes. Customer service was great. Picking up the car was fast and very easy. Did have an issue with an overcharge after we returned the vehicle but called customer service and they were able to fix it and even reimbursed me for the inconvenience. Highly recommend.

Process was easy to book, easy to pick up and easy to drop off. Only surprise was that I was offered a free car upgrade. When I returned to the San Diego airport, I was told there was a California sales tax fee of $4.33 for the free upgrade. Not a big deal but would have preferred I was told that when I took the upgrade. Thanks

Checkin with Kelly was good. I discovered a screw in the car’s tire while I was still near the airport. Drew was very helpful and exchanged the vehicle quickly. At drop off I briefly told the employee about my experience. They extended an olive branch in the form of a $15 apology. It was a great visit to San Diego.

Great experience with Alamo at the San Diego airport…quick, easy, great car. Only issue was that we literally filled up the gas tank minutes before returning the car, yet they charged us $17 in gas stating it wasn’t full.
