Education is ok but there's a lot of attention on quantity rather than on quality. I often found myself doing dozens of superficial exercices rather than doing fewer more profound and more educational work. Premises are ok, nothing too fancy or new but it's clean and well maintained. Discipline in this school however is sub-par. Bullies easily get away, teachers couldn't care less. I've seen a student get into a fight with a teacher and the student was still in school. There was this bully who got physical and wounded me and others. I had wounds and bruises, my mother came to school, but direction couldn't care less. "We've done all we can". All they had done is to give the bully a billet jaune, sort of disciplinary paper that the parents have to sign. But if the child comes from a difficult family, parents couldn't care less. In fact, I'm pretty sure they encouraged their little monster to be even meaner. But hey, if the parents didn't care, why should the direction? That actually encouraged bullying at Iona. Vandalism of pupils' propriety by other students? Direction couldn't care less. Bullies influencing others to become bullies? Direction couldn't care less. If you as a parent always took care of your child's education and you see that him or her is a good educated and disciplined child, then you'd better reconsider. I wouldn't sent my children at Iona; I'd consider a private primary school. Otherwise, if you consider that your child is a rotten bully who probably has no future in life, then by all means, send him to Iona. You'll be sending him or her on a six year vacation of hitting, smashing and crushing other pupils' skulls! The only thing you'll have to do is sign some yellow document once every time he does something exuberantly wrong such as making a group of ten children's noses bleed. Anyways, this has been my experience with the school.

Spend my primary grade years here back in 1988-1989 - 1990. Good memories, learned incursive writing by grade 2 ! Good times - now the school yard memories will be just that with this recent extension they added. Cant speak on the quality of the education now, however back in the day - we can all agree, the 80's were a great time!

How come such a wonderful school now became like this!!!??? Less activities, poor management, good teachers are all gone! I am just glad that I changed my kid’s school to other one. In the same public school system, we just found out there’s big difference! School have good teachers and your kid will have a good environment!

It was a good school but not anymore, my kids witnessed enough bullies and some of teachers noticed something wrong and they didn’t even do anything. Since I realized some of good teachers are retired, and the only best English teacher already left Iona, obviously school has some problems. so I took my kids away from Iona.

I definitely do not recommend this school for many reasons, totally disorganized, since the principal, secretariat and so on. The teachers seem good, but I did not have time to verify because in just 3 days, I moved my son to another school. Disappointed with this school.

I attended this school in 2009-2010 for grade 2. My teacher (I won't say her name) was by far the scariest one I have ever had. I don't know if she still works there but I remember crying every day after school because of her.

J’ai fréquenté cette école quand j’étais petite. Ça fait une quinzaine d’années. Beaucoup de beaux souvenirs. Mon enseignante était Mme Nicole. J’espère que vous allez bien!

Terrible primary experience. Direction doesn't care, teachers were ok. Music and art class was a joke to me. Dinner surveillance was terrible and design is trash.

I attended in the 1950s. I ran away from my first day at kindergarten. Mom brought me back. Teacher's name was Mrs. Woodhouse and the principal was Mr. Cooke.

I went here in 1970-71...too young to remember details except that it was always cold or overcast or raining or snowing...typical of Montreal weather.

Ignoring the bullying problem is the biggest failing of this school, one of the teachers really should be fired!

Good public school, I'd say the best one for primary grades in the zone.
